Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Maybe Josh has been banned from using his phone and accessing the internet. But surely Jim Bob, as image-conscious as we all know him to be, would have had enough sense to shut down Josh's social media accounts? Guess he subscribes to the " there is no such thing as bad press" school of thought.

And seriously? Josh is a 27 year old man. The thought that Daddy is still calling all the shots is just so wrong.

Josh has done a lot of terrible things, and he is 100% responsible for his choices. But did it ever occur to Jim Bob and Michelle that maybe if he had been allowed a normal childhood and adolescence, he would not have gone down that path?

It must have crossed their minds by now!

"Faith-based" rehab.  Cause we all know how well that worked the first time...

There is no hope for these idiots.  None.

My heart breaks for the rest of the Duggar sons, as well as Josh's two boys.  How many of them will have issues as well?  And the girls- they will never get the help they need.

Jim Bob and Michelle are officially the worst parents ever.  Hope they burn in hell for what they have done to their kids.

I wish someone could swoop in, grab all the kids and send them to a deprogramming camp- Josh, Anna, Jessa and Ben included.

Glad Derick and Jill are far away.  Hopefully his mom can talk some sense into them. Or his step-dad, who seems to have no use for JB & M.

The duggar family official also said he is in a 'long term' treatment facility

http://www.duggarfamily.com/2015/8/duggar-family-statement

"We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear. Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God—He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family."

Pickles says he is in Chicago. I currently am 500 feet from  a Chik fil la near Downers Grove so my chances of seeing him are great. LOL

At least Anna gets him out of her way for a long time, hopefully she will realize she is A ok on her own and leave!

Notice how they say that Anna is getting counsel.... not counseling. In other words 'we are telling her what to do'. I ache for her and her kids. Josh is getting 'poor Josh you need help' and Anna, the actual victim, is getting 'you will stay and you will like it'.

Didn't one of the younger boys get moved from a regular phone to a very unsmart phone as some kind of punishment? Makes you wonder how many of the Duggar boys are resorting to online porn for their sexual outlet.

He'll emerge after six weeks and the Duggar brigade will go for a full court press and say that he's cured and he really really is a true God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian this time and we should all forgive and forget and not continue holding this over his head because everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days.

I wish Anna would take the kids and flee to one of her siblings while Josh, well, whatever he is doing.  If JimBoob won't give her the money I would run up the credit cards or sell my wedding ring to get the money and go.  Or take Daniel up on his offer.  She doesn't need to be around them!  She needs real counseling.

Those poor other boys.  They are probably on sexual lockdown.  "Let me check your phone!"  "Did you just look at her chest?"  "Are you making your pile of mashed potatoes into a sculpture that looks like a woman's butt?"  "Why are you taking such a long shower?!"

And how must the Duggar girls feel about this? They know JB will pick their husband and can see that he is all about protecting Josh and throwing Anna under the bus. It has to be cementing the idea that he doesn't care about their wellbeing at all.

And I just think calling it sex-addiction is such a cop-out. Satan made him do it. Anna's failure made him do it. Now addiction made him do it. Responsibility... look it up, Josh.

And that expectation that you must stay married at all costs.  Hookers?  Stay married.  Promises not to do it again, and does it again? Stay married.  Child molester? Stay married.  Liar? Stay married.  Brought home an STD?  Stay married.

So it's confirmed Josh has entered rehab. Whoever posted about the Duggar plane's flight plan was spot-on.

Hanging out with TFDW does not constitute rehab to me.

David is probably tickled pink about it through.

I soooooo wish it meant she was getting a lawyer, divorcing his filthy ass, and getting every blasted dime of alimony and child support she can. *sigh*

...and at least 1/2 of the families the Duggars know have also had their sons make the same mistakes.

Also,  if the hooker story is true, the sexual act just took a second & she didn't feel anything (actually this part might be true)

I wouldn't object to them calling it an addiction if I thought he was getting some real therapy for it, but I'm sure it's just more praying. Have the Duggars ever heard the expression about the definition of insanity being doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? Hint: This lifestyle is not working for Josh! He admitted leading a double life! He's just going to tell you whatever you want to hear until he gets caught again!

But they believe they are 100% right, everyone else is wrong, so this is the only thing they will ever do to help him. More of the same stuff that messed him up in the first place.

Also, I've been thinking about Jessa's remark in the Megyn Kelly interview about how Josh was "sly." It was such a strange choice of word and really not appropriate for the context of what she seemed to be saying, it really stood out to me. Now I wonder if maybe she knew or suspected Josh was leading a double life and was trying to hint about it while outwardly "keeping sweet."

Wow maybe the hobby lobby therapy wasn't such a great idea after all. Who knew?

Josh Duggar: Just one more way we're applying our values to the uteri of America. We're Hobby Lobby. We're special that way.

I would have been more impressed if he went to the same rehab facility Elton John and rumored to have gone Lady Gaga, Parkside at Luthern General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. Now that is a real rehab facility not some biblebelting babble center saying they are a rehab center.

He needs to see a licensed doctor that might figure out why he has acted out and if he has deep depression issues. Only from there can they start the slow process of helping him.

And the people who are defending him......it's ok to be wrong it really is. I'm wrong a lot. I thought John Edwards was the new JFK....I was wrong. Really, really wrong.

If you really think about it ;) you may not have been wrong about John Edwards.

Of course not. There is not a single licensed mental health or addiction provider on staff.

More of the same "pray it away" crap they've been throwing at Josh for over a decade. God forbid they let Josh receive evidence-based treatment.

Interesting to note that almost all of the staff of this facility are former addicts themselves, some quite recently.  Makes me think they'll be blowing a lot of smoke up Joshie's ass that "See, you CAN find gainful employment even after your sins.  Hell, WE did!"

Oh if only. I live nearby and I would be there "reporting" on the exterior of the facility if I could as a public service for y'all.  As is, I am sure some intrepid interneters will be circling the Rockford area to see if Joshie is there.  Also, there is the facility in Lemont, IL, that Demi Lovato went to as well for her rehab, that actually seems to have stuck. Of course her rehab was secular, so that couldn't be on the radar for Joshie poo.

Meanwhile, in other thoughts, am I the only one getting the impression from Duggarville that there is only one unforgivable sin in the world, and that is a woman leaving a cheating spouse?

It's most likely Josh's next career -- until he's caught on pornhub or with a stripper.

This facility cannot bill insurance/Medicaid/Medicare, so they must exist solely by donations. I wonder if they're funded by ChickFilA and Hobby Lobby.

Oh Lord their bios of filled with quasi academic accomplishments that don't mean a thing. What the hell is a BS in church work, or a graduate program of men's discipleship or post graduate work in men's discipleship?!? I think it's safe to say if you beleive Jesus rode a dinosaur blue cross is not going to allow you to bill them. And all the talk about their sins of heroin addiction made me feel so sad.

It really does seem like, at this point, it's a huge face-saving issue for a lot of fans. I see "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" a lot, and I also see "well at least he admitted it! And didn't try to lie! He's a good Christian! Haters!" quite a bit. I have huge problems understanding this. Imagining that I was a very strictly religious person, and assuming that's what attracted me to the Duggars in the first place (why can't all families be this nice? Look how they don't mooch, look how well-behaved the kids are, look how their lives center around Jesus, blah blah blah), I think I'd be pretty indignant if the family that was supposed to be the most representative of my values ended up being...well...the freaking Duggars. I would have dropped them from the purposes of my heart the second I heard Josh molested his sisters. "Yeah, I thought they were awesome, but it turns out they're basically Democrats, they can go burn in hell with the rest of them," is what I'd say.
