Jessa, Ben and Their Brood: Making a (Diaper) Mountain out of a Mold House

Message added by Scarlett45

The Duggars post about politics on social media frequently, but these social media posts are not an invitation to discuss politics here in this forum. This rule extends to Duggar adjacent families, friends, associates etc. Such discussions are a violation of the Politics Policy.

I understand with recent current events there may be a desire to discuss certain social media postings of those in the Duggar realm as they relate to politics- this is not the place for those discussions. If you believe someone has violated forum rules, report them, do not respond or engage.

I work for a Catholic School, and our school prayer references blood and sin.  I was in the press box with the principal one day, and he said, "I hate having to say that prayer when we play public schools. It makes us sound so weird."   Love that guy.

I  don't really care what the song is, I just don't see Jill spending as much time with her heathen offspring as Jessa is with her cuties, so keep on singing!

Good point. I can't see Jill doing this either (although I can see Anna doing this, even if she doesn't post onto social media all the time). I fear that Joy is going to be more like Jill.

I agree with the posters that said Jessa seems to miss Jinger more than Jinger misses Jessa.  The change in dynamic seems odd, because when Jessa was getting married, I remember Jinger bawling her eyes out and telling her that she loves her. At the Tell All, Jinger appeared cool towards her siblings. I can't help but wonder what brought about the change in attitude and behavior.

Exposure to the outside world and new things. I'm sure she loves her family, but she's probably realizing they aren't the be-all-end-all they think they are. Jessa's pretty much stuck in her little bubble. She can't afford to lose many people.

That's such a nice answer. Is it wrong that my answer to what Jinger's change in attitude and behavior was, was that she got a good hot beef injection?

Finding out that the world (and its people) outside your horrible suffocating family is very different, less horrible and way less suffocating could do it.

I don't know if this is what did happen with Jinger, but it certainly can happen. Being in a family like the Duggars keeps you from having any realization of how many ways it's fucked up, constantly unpleasant and bad for you until you actually get away and live somewhere else for a while without having your family around you. Until she married, Jingle never got the experience of being away. Now she's had it. I expect she's still pretty dazed about how different things are -- even living with somebody else who's also kind of a control freak!

I'm not sure that Jessa misses Jinger as much as her instagram posts implies. Not that she's faking it, but she probably knows that her relationship with Jinger humanizes her as much as her children do, so that's why those are now the two subjects she posts about most. Jessa being Jessa, if she really were that despondent about Jinger, she probably wouldn't post about it.

As for Jinger, I agree that there's been a change in attitude, and in addition to what @JoanArc said, I think a big part of the reason that she was so upset when Jessa got married was that she didn't have anyone else in the house she could talk to. Joy is an automaton, Jana might be a good mom to her little siblings but she doesn't strike me as someone who gets close to people at all (and even if not the case, I think it's hard to become closer to a sibling whom you weren't ever close to before), and the gender rules in that house means she will never be all that close to her brothers. Jessa leaving meant she was going to be alone in a house full of people, with no one to bond over the dumb shit her family say and do. Meeting Jeremy gave her someone to talk to in addition to everything else.

I particularly like the idiotic blank smile on Meeechelle's face as she sings "when I hear the awful charges." ..... I can picture her at the pearly gates as her walking papers enumerating the "awful charges" against her are being read .... and she'd have the same clueless dead grin on her face.

well at least they can harmonize well......

Reasonably well, anyway. The tone is another matter. Kinda jarring to the ear. But I actually listened to the whole thing because I have a fondness for any sort of voices singing in harmony (Barber Shop quartets make me unreasonably happy). So even if it was not great, I didn't hate it nearly as much as their instrumentals - to say nothing of the Rodriguii, who are truly painful.

Jynnan, thanks for taking two for the team.  I couldn't even watch it even though we were promised the spectacle of Josie picking her nose and Howler monkey behavior.

It fits, the Duggards supporting a POS.

Was that when Boob was in AR state government?

No. About 10 years later, actually. Boob's "political career" -- gag -- was around 2000 to 2002, when he ran his ill-fated Senate primary race. Akin ran in 2012, I think. A lot later, anyway.

You certainly can tell a lot about the Duggars by the company they keep, I must say.

Bbbbbbbut gubmint is ebil, unless its sole reason for being is to take away the rights of women, minorities, or the LGBTQ community.

Exactly. And votes to do those things are literally the only times he showed up at the statehouse. Taking rights from women, specifically. In those years, the other two things were a little less prominent on the radar screen. .... And yet he was surprised when the state's entire population of Republicans didn't want to send him to DC on their behalf. They all knew he would literally do nothing for them.

I like the way serious Henry lights up when Jessa speaks!  Unfortunately, Ben confuses Spurgeon by asking him to say "Yea!" just after he already said it.

I just think how good these two little boys' lives would be, if their parents would just stop and be content with their family of four.

Nothing against larger families per se, but with these super breeder families?  Come on.  Be thankful for what you've got.

RE: the singing video

Wow, Michelle and Jim Bob have aged a lot.  Of course, we all age but you can really see the toll the past 2 years have taken on those two.

Of course, it's  their own doing so no sympathy.

I think it's 25% Josh stress, 75% not being famous, or the alpha couple anymore. No pity here, either.

ITA - they have know about Josh for a long time.  If they had done the right thing, this would not have blind sided them and maybe pervy Josh could have got some professional counseling.

No, he won't even be two until November.  It's still not a good idea to let a little one walk around holding a bottle with his teeth.

and it's kind of rude to allow him to stain that fancy chair with his bottle.  The Duggars  have no social skills. They don't give a rat's ass about others.
