Ha!   Raven wants term limits so that she and people of her age group can be represented in politics!  Like people with experience and knowledge can't do the job because they're no longer youthful!  (sorry, it's my personal gripe about dismissing people because they're older than you)   

SO -  I'm imagining A political body composed of Raven-like young people.   (not a slam on young people in general just her representation of them)   A political meeting, members of a committee and EVERY ONE of them looking at their phone!  A topic comes to a vote, and Raven pipes up to tell them what her Twitter followers are saying they should do. THAT is her vision of how the country should be run.

THIS! Omg she makes me sick too, but in a different way than CCB... and at times Paula.

For me, CCB is the worst and Raven is a close second. ... on the make-me-stabby scale.

There are term limits.  They're called elections.  Raven wants people to step aside for her generation.  Once again, she (or in this case, her generation), shouldn't have to work or compete, she wants others to step aside so that the positions can be handed to her peers.  Yeah, that would work.  Moron.

Did anyone else notice that Miss WHoopi's voice changes when she's around certain people?  When talking to Jesse  Tyler Ferguson the other day, about his one-man show, and how great the theater was, there was a little affectation in her voice, almost a put-on accent.  It's not the first time I heard her do this, and pretty often it seems to be when she's trying to impress people with her knowledge of "theater".  It's like she is trying to speak on a different level than she does to us "regular folks."

I notice Miss Whoopi's change in voices and it drives me crazy!  One minute she is speaking like a backwards hick and throwing her leg up on the table and next she gets all hoity toity and might as well have a cup of tea with her pinkie up?!!

Candace's response to Joy pointing out Carly Fiorina's fabrications about Planned Parenthood was infuriating. It's not a case of whether you agree or not, it's a case of it being a lie that never even existed.

I enjoyed Whoopi's little bit with the Woman Card, even if she took it from someone else. Of course Paula threw hers down; she'd be the first to call out someone else playing the woman card.

Did anyone notice Miss Whoopi's antics while Rick Perry was speaking?  He was answering a question and suddenly the camera was directed at Miss Whoopi who was making exaggerated lip movements and pulling her hair looking at someone??  Weird!

I agree that the show today seemed awkward. The topics were strange, and Whoopi was particularly more loud and obnoxious. Raven also brought up the words, "in my industry", which always irritates and makes no sense. The whole show seemed like a struggle to get through. So why did I watch it? I really don't know why except to follow this board, which entertains me.

I'm not sure there is more to Raven's life than show business and social media.  Or at least not anything she's interested in talking about.

It's awesome.  I bought one a few years ago as a gift for a close family member whose vocabulary is basically limited to [You are] Awesome!!!  Amazing!!! Gorgeous!!!  Beautiful!! and of course Fabulous!!! Notice the three exclamation points - there are never less than three.   By the way, the shirt was appreciated by everyone but her - I don't think she got it.  Maybe she was thinking, "What's wrong with hyper-bowl?"

Oh, I was so excited after the days long buildup for the give away of the designer bag! Wow, what a generous prize, and the lady who won must be beside herself to get a bag that looks like a common knock-off.

What the hell is wrong with Candice and Paula? Does this show require its Christian panelists to check their senses of humor at the door or something? They take everything sooooo seriously. Getting all perturbed about the robot sex partners, sheesh. Candice: "sex to me is something you have in a committed relationship." Oh, lordie, just spare me. They were talking about getting down with ROBOTS Candice, not discussing world peace. It just wasn't that deep. Save that drama for a real discussion about relationships if you insist on being dramatic. You look STUPID getting all heavy when it's "light-hearted banter" time. And I am pretty sure that talking about having sex with robots is light-hearted banter time.

And Preposterous Paula, so horrified at the idea of having sex with something made of {{{shudder}}} aluminum! Girl, relax. Nobody is going to force you to do the nasty with R2D2. Unclutch your pearls you twit. And while you are unclutching things, I suggest you unclutch your sphincter, too, and let the enormous stick you have shoved up there drop to the ground. Seriously, I think Paula is the most uptight person they have ever had on the show. She is much worse than Candice. At least Candice was okay with the teacher using the word "vagina" to describe the O'Keefe painting. Paula insisted the image should just be called "a flower." Awww. That's so damn special. Except many of O'Keefe's paintings are a lot more than just a flower, you MORON.

Paula really is that annoying kid who lived down the street who nobody liked because she was a wet blanket and a tattletale. The girl who grew up to be the tedious oaf in high school who had no idea how incredibly uncool she was, just a stick in the mud who wrinkled her nose at everything and never "got" the joke. The girl who went on to become the pain the ass co-worker who you hated having to deal with because she made everything so much harder to accomplish because she found fault with everything. That smug neighbor you see coming down the street and you just want to run inside your house because no matter how hard you try to keep it light and friendly, she finds something to judge or be offended by.

Like many others here, I do not know why this show needs both Candice and Paula since they have virtually the same opinion about everything. But I fear that if one of them is going to go, it's going to be Candice because Paula iw some kind of "journalist" whoop-de-do. But she is AWFUL. They are both superior, but with Candice it's a softer "I feel sorry for you because you won't get into Heaven" kind of superiority. Paula, on the other hand, is more like "you're going to HELL and you deserve it" kind of superiority. Does that make sense? If I had to be stuck with one of them, I'd choose Candice. I'll take her overly-sentimental ignorance over Paula's snide nerd prissy act any day.

Okay, so the site is finally up and running at night!

First, I can't believe, oh wait, yes I can, that Candace didn't know about toxic shock syndrome until she read an article (when?) about a woman who lost her legs because of it. First, you maroon, if you read the directions when using tampons, there is a WARNING that does tell you just that.  And then when someone said...something, she flips and says she doesn't want to talk about it anymore, beause she's not "comfortable" (her favorite word) talking about something she doesn't know enough about or doesn't have enough information out there. In other words, since there isn't "more" information about what the material comprises a tampon and thus could cause toxic shock syndrome, she wants to plug her ears and go 'lalalalalalalalalalalaaaaa?' And yet, she's willing to spout her ignorance about politics.  And I don't know what she's talkinga about, because the box STATES what the material is made of!  And for women, talking about something that women use and that affects women, they were ALL so bloody ignorant.  I used to use Tampax tampons, for reasons I won't go into here, because, one, TMI, and another, off-topic. But I will say, the only way I could get a decent night's sleep was to wear 'em.  And I'm still alive and relatively healthy.

I did have to laugh at Whoopi's demonstration of how in the olden days, one had to wear a belt, because pads weren't self-adhesive. Hell, I did too, at first.  And before they came out with the long overnight ones, I used the "hospital" size ones! And now I'll shut up about it.

And Candace can just STFU about how she doesn't want an all woman cabinet, because they won't be qualified because as we all know and she has said, "everyone has their place," and in her mind, women's places are in the home and only men can be leaders. Though I do wonder then, why she isn't at home.

Rick Perry just annoyed. Riiight. Get rid of the federal laws and let the States do it, and everyone will get health insurance and all their consitutional rights, women will also get all their reproductive rights, etc. Where the fuck has he been living? And the way he talks about Washington, I was yelling, "Fool! You've tried TWICE to get INSIDE Washington when you ran for President."

Raven can just STFU as well.  Haven't watched today's yet, so can't contribute or add to the conversation.

Yeah, I have no idea why it's so wrong to use a biological word like "vagina" in the classroom. Every kid in the room was pushed out of one and by the point they're looking at Georgia O'Keefe in art class, they had to have already learned basic biology. Well, I guess if the world was run according to Paula, they wouldn't.

I did like Joy's response, just because she went at the story at a different angle than the others. Art is like English in that you should try not to give definite answers on meanings. Students should be able to interpret and discuss independent of the teacher.

It was a little weird, how Raven was responding to the issue, wasn't it?   The topic was introduced as "would you DATE a robot?"  Which was a different question than the one they ended up talking about - which was "would you FUCK a robot?"  
When I heard the DATE question, I was thinking of Siri or Alexa (Amazon Echo), and going on a date with someone who would listen to you, tell you you're right, tell jokes, talk about current events, etc.  But no, they were skipping right to the sex part.   I'm surprised Whoopi didn't chime in to tell us about her little sex robot.  and yeah, Raven seemed VERY eager to get herself a robot.

 

Earlier this week, (forum was down, otherwise I would have posted about it sooner)  I wanted to give Paula advice on what to wear under her green lace dress.  The white bra showed right through. Under green lace -  a nude-toned bra, OR a green one.   Not white.

I just can't with her constant "in the industry" nonsense.  She mentions it every single day we are graced with her presence.  And with such a condescending attitude too.  Does she not realize that she's not the only one at the table who is "in the industry"?  And that it doesn't make her a higher being or superior to the rest of us peasants?  

She seems to think she has some kind of amazing insight because she's "in the industry".  She's so dumb.  I've never known anyone so completely unaware of how little she actually knows.  If "in the industry" was a drinking game, I would be setting up shot glasses every single freakin' morning right alongside my coffee mug and cinnamon creamer.

We had really bad weather here yesterday morning and I finally got some more sleep after it had passed through for the most part. Due to the weather the DVR had an hour of local weather updates on conditions and water levels instead of The Spew. I'm guessing I didn't miss much based on the posts about yesterday's show.

Doesn't Candace understand most people don't vote for people they don't agree with on the issues.  Her making that proclamation is stating the obvious. 

You know I was doing some thinking and pretty much everyone (except for Joy and Michelle whenever she is actually there)  that sits at that table is so fucking smug.  Whoopi because she is a movie star.  Raven because she is "in the industry".  And Paula and Candace because they are Christians and you know God just loves them so damn much.  Who wants to watch a bunch of women who think they are so much better than the viewers?
