The opening with CCB dancing was cringeworthy, as was the rest of the show. Hoping this nauseating celebration show is a farewell gift to CCB from the View producers.

Maybe I missed it, but where was Kirk Cameron?

Not surprised MC was not on. When she & CCB are on together, you can tell Michelle doesn't have patience for Candace's bullshit. That's one of the reasons I like Michelle.

Did not watch, but good point about the hope that it was a good bye show /slash/ birthday. CCB and Paula are almost the same person. Too many....same.  Paula only bugs me slightly less than CCB. It is a close one.

Sexy dancing with both Mirovsky Bros. In opening. This is what 40 looks like. Blech. Real Christian-like. CCB'S Facebook is going to go off again. I don't think Hollywood and Christianity are a good mix. Too much contradiction.

Otherwise, body size not withstanding, why can't Raven wear more flattering clothes, or get a fricking stylist who's more hip or fashionable?

Also, Paula kept saying "CDC" in regards to average body size, the Center for Disease Control?

I wonder how Marilu Henner feels about being a parlor trick? Her eyes were really, really red. I am so glad that I don't remember things like that as my ability to forget is a wonderful coping mechanism. For example, today's show.

I thought that I was the only that noticed Michelle's intense dislike of her.. I remember a few months ago, Michelle dropped her comedic persona and she muttered to Whoopie, I cannot deal with this today, in reference to the Barbie going off about Planned parenthood..I wish that Michelle would have shown that side of her more often. Perhaps, she would still be employed for the Fall..Too little too late...I have always liked Michelle and I want her to stay...

Marilu Henner's eyebrows are are in the atmosphere.

Recent, tight facelift, anyone?

Also, she is talking really fast! Is Red Bull gluten- free?

Heh heh, loved that she DIDN'T remember that Whoopi was on stage with Palance.

Marilyn Henner has been using her memory bullshit as her claim to fame for years. She's done the talk show rounds showing it off for about a decade now. It's the only way she gets booked anymore. I'm sure she doesn't mind going to that well again and again

I watched it with no sound and that was nauseating enough.  Tell me why exactly this co-host who has barely been on the show five minutes is getting this kind of a celebration?  It looks like it was BaWa worthy.

I guess I didn't realize that the whole show would be devoted to National Treasure and Saint Candace Cameron Bure. It was so super sweet and over the top that I was actually embarrassed for everyone involved, including myself for watching.

I tuned in for prob 5 mins and could take NO MORE! And it looked like ( to me in those few min) Joy and Whoppie were not thrilled.

Hope this was a good bye send off/ birthday.

She adds nothing and does nothing but make me turn the channel.

Oh, BTW, Whoops was wrong again. The Glamour mag issue WAS dedicated to plus size women, which is why Amy Schumer protested her inclusion, cuz she's only size 6-8, and doesn't want young girls to think that they will be considered plus size when they're that size. Whoops said the issue wasn't abt plus size, but celebrating women of every size. Joy even asked, then why was Amy protesting? Whoops waffled some nonsense. Pay attention, Whoops. Pot does cloud your memory though.

I paid way too much attention to the show this a.m. Spring break. I need a hobby.

I am clearly in the minority today but I liked the show and I hope they do more like this for special events. I enjoyed Sara Haines baby shower as well. I think that it makes the show a little more personal especially with so many hosts switching in and out it kind of made it less personal. and even if I don't agree with Candace on a lot of things I think she brings a bigger audience to the show and I think her views and beliefs are being constantly challenged and it may serve as a learning experience idk

I found it hysterical that Marilu Henner has been touting her memory for years, she can remember what happened every day of her life!!!, but, she totally forgot Whoopie was on stage with her at the Emmys (or Oscars, whatever it was, I don't have a great memory).

I made myself a lovely breakfast and sat down at 10 (pacific time) to watch the show.  I turned to channel 4 and Cameron flashed across my screen, spinning around in a spangly little dress.  Then I remembered what today's show was about.

I almost spilled my plate reaching for the remote.  I could not tune to CNN fast enough!  I'd rather eat breakfast watching Donald Trump than sit through the mess that was the show today.

LOVE a little superficiality!  Aw, poor Candace, it must've been hard for her growing up as the only Oompa-loompa in the clan.  S-o-o tired of all the birthday celebrations & also hope it's the start of her farewell tour. Maybe I'm just jelly - I was lucky to get a group card if someone at work learned of my birthday, dammit.

I'll vote for her, no doubt, but think Hillary usually looks dowdy, & I'm in my 60's with a similar pear shape - wish I could do a make-over on her. Guess she (poor misguided wonk) was studying when the rest of us were perusing Mademoiselle (? or maybe Glamor?) magazine's Fashion Do's & Dont's!  NO over-sized pockets or LONG jackets over relatively large hips, Hil! I still remember Hil's unfortunate first presidential inaugural outfit - some kind of pinkish, tweedy plaid with a toddler's short-brimmed flat hat - yea, gods, at least Nancy Reagan had style (no heart, tho'.)

Did Kirk make an appearance or not?

No, but everyone else did. I ff'd through most of the show, and was glad to do it, but I did note that Daddy Cameron is an older version of Kirk. Very strong resemblance.

So I decided to take the risk and actually watch with the sound on (I am already sick in bed so no risk really).  Observations:

  • CCB must be an ugly crier because she covered her entire her face with her hands when her daughter surprised her and sang with the band that is CCB's favourite; it was a nice moment and her daughter was good.  I just ignored the lyrics of the song so don't know what it was about but it is apparently inspirational.
  • I was very surprised to see that CCB had all these commercials and different TV roles, as I had never heard of her before the View.
  • As Bronzedog and Tosia noted, Marilu Henner not remembering that Whoopi presented Jack Palance the Oscar is a pretty big whoops for the woman with the perfect memory, and describing everything she remembered that day.   But especially since she was coming on the View.  Heh heh.
  • Marilu Henner brought out a birthday cake, which should have just sat on the table, but then Paula offered to cut the cake, and Raven interrupted and actually hit her on the hand with the cake knife because the birthday girl needs to cut the cake!  Yikes!  Raven has some hitting issues.  Remember a few eps ago when she smashed Michelle's hand and Michelle said, I don't even know what that was, and, that really hurt, and Raven kept talking and then sort of apologized but kept talking while Michelle was rubbing her wrist.  This time Joy made a comment about Raven knifing Paula.
  • Candace's dress was ugly, but worse, when she sat down her boobs were below her ruffle and it looked like a tummy role.
  • Joy said to Whoopi as an aside that CCB's dad looked like Charles Bronson.
  • Everyone was trying to get Dad to sit in the empty chair and he was going to until CCB said mom should--no shit, what about all that chivalry stuff the band was espousing?
  • Paula said CCB has the  most precious family.
  • Whoopi seemed to be having problems intro'ing the show, and then when they went to their abridged hot topics she said in politics, Mississipi passed a dumb law, and she mentioned the Wisconsin primaries and said Sanders would be on on Friday.  Wow.  Then they talked about Amy Shumer plus size issue instead.
  • As if it wasn't enough to have CCB's family, and then her parents, on, they wheeled out another cake with CCB's sister and her husband and all their kids who CCB says are all home-schooled by their rock star mom.
  • Then Whoopi said they have two minutes to go so we have to stretch so CCB come and say something, bring the baby (her niece); and then I don't know if it was Joy, but someone decided they should sing happy birthday to CCB and Whoopi encouraged CCB's husband to sing in Russian (this was my favourite moment!) and he did(!) and his two teen-aged sons looked mortified.

I don't think CCB is going anywhere.  This was the most OTT birthday celebration for an almost never there host one could imagine.  She is here to stay.

I can't believe I forgot this. I laughed and laughed and laughed. That is -literally- (and I'm not exaggerating, since I hate the overuse of that word) the only good moment Raven has ever had on this show. "Bitch, this ain't your birthday!!!" LLLOL Only thing that tops it was Joy punching Nene Leakes.

Just how many cakes did Candace receive today - 3?

What an waste of a show - especially since they covered her weekend party already and we'll probably have to hear even more about her actual birthday celebration tomorrow.

It was so touching to see her reunited with her family after 3 days. Sigh.

Candace's orange "glow" clashed with her hot pink dress.

Re: Marilu Henner: I have what might be called a phenomenal memory - I was telling someone about the death of a family friend, which I clearly remember in November 1967. (I remember events by associating with another - it's a foolproof system! In this case, I remember I came home from being away overnight and my parents didn't want to make me sad, but had to tell me that our friend had died.) Recently I was reading the archives of my hometown paper and found that he died in June 1968. Either the newspaper was wrong, or I was, and I'm never wrong.

Isn't obesity classified as a disease now? I'm guessing that's why she would have brought up the CDC.

The CDC promotes using BMI (body mass index) to determine appropriateness of a persons weight and obesity so Paula probably used that organization as her reference/ resource for evaluating body weight .

The CDC now goes by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (who knows why they didn't add the P to the acronym).

I think the BMI calculation is too stringent partly because I'm embarrassed that my BMI puts me close to "obese" (and yes I should be doing more exercise and can pinch fat around my waist) and partly because I have a friend who is incredibly healthy, has an enviable body, works out regularly and because of her muscle mass (muscle weighs more than fat) her BMI puts her at "obese" which is ridiculous!

Loved episode with Clinton. Honestly fast forwarded through most of today's because I could care less about orange Candaces birthday. I did watch the musical number and enjoyed the band, which I had never heard of, and her daughter!

Was she wrong, though? Or did Glamour changed their mind and say it was for "all sizes" because after Whoopi said what she did, and stumbled over it, Paula read off from the blue card (naturally!) a statement from Glamour that it was about all sizes all women and they're sorry if they offended Amy.

So, I haven't watched any of last week's, but zipped through Monday and Tuesday; "watched" yesterday's via fast forwarding.

Monday: Paula is an utter idiot if she doesn't or can't understand why Drumpf's ex-wives "stand by him." It's not because they looooove him or think he's a good guy or a good father, even if they won't say that. It starts with M and ends in Y, plus the fear factor that he'll rip them to shreds or sue them for defamation or slander or whatever.  And Paula, Drumpf was having the affair with Marla, so if, IF, back then, Ivana didn't want him to be free to marry her, she could have held out against the divorce, dragged it out, etc. So, in other words, SHUT UP.

That's all I got for Monday. That stuck with me anyway.  Because I fast forwaded every time Candace opened her mouth.

I LOVED Tuesday's show. I was engaged.  Well, I did roll my eyes when Candace was trying to show she was all for women leaders, but not. With her "we each have our place."  I mean, when she said she's never seen a woman as a leader before, I thought, really? I guess she's never heard of Margaret Thatcher or Indira Gandhi, or Benazir Bhutto...oh wait. They weren't leaders in her AMERIKA.  And too far back for her to remember? IF she was taught World History at all.  Or how about the current leader of Germany? No? That country not Christian enough for her to bother learning? So, are all the women senators, congresswomen, governors, etc, not "LEADER" enough for this most delicate and specialistist of snow flakes?

If I were in the audience that day, I would have risked being hauled out by yelling: "GIVE ME ONE FUCKING EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU ARE BEING RELIGIOUSLY PERSECUTED!!!!"

Loved Hillary.  The way she spoke, so naturally, reminded me of the time she spoke at my sister's college graduation. Yep, my sister was lucky enough to Have First Lady Clinton speak there. I wuz Jealous.

And for all the talk Candace says about how hot the sex is with her and her hubby, through the filter of fast forwarding, that kiss she gave him when she was dressed in all white? came off as very...chaste.

Yes, the BMI is very inaccurate.   When I was losing weight, I found a BMI site which not only calculated BMI, but also took in AGE, and gave a percentile.  Because, for many people, weight goes up as we age (especially women who go through all the ups and downs of pregnancy and menopause).  It was much more realistic in comparing me to other women my age, rather than some ideal for everyone.

My adult son had an issue at work.  Trying to promote health, they were offering incentives to employees who scored below a certain BMI. He objected to it, because by BMI standards he is "obese" , even though he was probably the most muscular of anyone working there, lifts weights daily and is working on certification for personal trainer.   A lot of professional athletes have high BMI's because it only takes two things - height and weight - into consideration.  It's not a bad shortcut for average people, but it's not a universal measure of fitness.

When Leo DiCaprio was seen "vaping" at one of the awards shows, Whoopi said on the show that day she also vapes now instead of smoking. I don't think she mentioned that in the smoking segment today. Vaping & eCigs are nicotine delivery systems that work the same way as smoking. You're still inhaling chemicals but exhaling a mist instead of hot smoke. It's still quite new & my understanding is that there's not enough definitive clarity on the dangers of long-term vaping. Wonder if that's why she didn't she mention being a vaper today?

Nothing irritates me more than the brutal party line regarding the stress and strain of smoking cessation, I was a two pack a dayer and smoked over 35 years but quit so easily when I realized it's mostly a mind fuck thanks to Allan Carrs Easy Way to Stop Smoking

That book outlines the brainwashing involved in this Addiction because truly once you get past the relatively quick acting and quick ending physical addiction and understanding how the mind has been hijacked even more than the body the process of stopping is positively gleeful

It was for me and five other family members who used it and thousands upon thousands of people who have successfully used it per the remarks posted on Amazon it's frustrating this aspect never gets mentioned on main stream media by folks like the doctors who prefer you need them to prescribe something or Whoopi Goldberg who still appears to be in denial about this addiction if she is vaping

I noticed today that miss Whoopi was wearing a white t-shirt under her white button shirt.    Maybe I wasn't the only one who caught a glimpse of  some gaping between the buttons earlier this week?

The woman yelling at Rick Scott at a Starbucks?  she may have a point, but why not speak respectfully, and ask a question, or present your views without attacking?  Plus - the woman is at a starbucks, doing the thing that drive me crazy -  no coffee or food in sight, she's using the WiFi, and people like me (CUSTOMERS)  who come in, can't use the tables because the whole place is taken up by folks like her.

Raven says that "freedom of speech"  is a LAW that means you can say whatever you want to whomever you want -   no, that's not a LAW.   This is what you hear from junior high kids when people tell them they can't talk a certain way "the constitution gives me freedom of speech!"  Nope.   the  first amendment says that the government  can't make laws preventing expression of ideas.   It doesn't protect everyone from saying whatever they want.  Donald Trump also uses "freedom of speech"  to mean something different,  He thinks that PROTESTORS are violating HIS right to speak, and won't look at the reverse.

So, ten minutes into the show, they already hit on two of my pet peeves.  Abusing free Wifi, and "freedom of speech" as an absolute.

Whoops, Five more minutes, and Raven talks about how gun manufacturers aren't responsible, because, other things  can also be used to kill people.   Yes cars can kill people.  But cars don't EXIST to kill people.  Guns do.  One more pet peeve.
