ETA: here it is: James P Sheffield@JayShef @PatMcCroryNC It's now the law for me to share a restroom with your wife. #HB2 #trans #NorthCarolina #shameonNC It's a perfect illustration of what the N Carolina law wants to dictate - that the man in the photo above, because he was born female, should use the ladies restroom, and could be arrested for using the men's bathroom. So how does that make women and children feel safer? Edited March 29, 2016 by backformore 7 Link to comment

ginger90 March 29, 2016 Share March 29, 2016 The whole restroom "issue" is sad and funny, to me. I am a female who, back in the day, has used the men's room at baseball games, bars and I'm sure other places. They are normally less crowded and quicker to use when one really has to go, lol. Who is going to pose as the restroom police? What will be the criteria be, and am I going to be arrested??? Scaring children? Yeah, the scary stereotype is like big bad drag queens going into the women's restroom to expose themselves to little girls. But there haven't been any reports of this happening. There was a post recently that there have been more republican senators arrested for misconduct in bathrooms than transgender people. Maybe that's what Raven was trying to call attention to. Bronzedog March 29, 2016 Share March 29, 2016 What I took away from the exercise segment is that although they pretend that they're friends, there's no chemistry between any of these women. There's some kind of disconnect. Also, for always reminding us of how young she is, Raven doesn't seem to be in very good shape. I've never liked George Lopez but it was weird that Paula interrupted him to say Mitt Romney had just told the same joke. 1 Link to comment

Whoopi spends her time with that bitch face and looking at the audience with the same face when someone else is talking. She is the reason there is no chemistry on that panel. Her hateful demeanor ruins this show. I don't think Paula and CCB are best friends but they are friends and colleagues. 8 Link to comment

KLovestoShop March 29, 2016 Share March 29, 2016 Why are they so afraid of exposing their kids to other beliefs? Yoga is NOT religious, for chrisss sake. I've traveled all over the world, experiencing many belief systems, and it's been a fantastic education. I've prayed at the Schwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, at the Vatican, and at the National Cathedral in Washington. I'm not a freak because of that, but more understanding of many faiths. There's currently a court order in the UK which states that a non-Muslim man, divorced from a Muslim woman, and father to a 9 year old boy, cannot take his son to any Christian institution because it would insult Muslims. Both parents have joint custody, but in this politically correct world, even judges are ruling that you can't insult one faith against another by exposing a child to different religions. Bullshit. CCB's kids aren't going to be tainted if they know about other belief systems. Why does Raven have to look like she's employed by Ringling Brothers Circus as a crystal ball reader? Her hair just reminds me of one of those old time circus freaks. 7 Link to comment

You can't frippen stretch and exercise because the bible? Huh? If you do, where's the prayer in school? Omg. Does that mean karate, tai kwon do, kung fu, tai chi, etc. all off limits now? You might accidentally slip out a foreign word! CCB seems like a nice person that's not filled with hate but I just can't hear someone equate every single thing on earth as it relates to jesus. She doesn't have any views, just unicorn farts and lollipops and jesus. Child rearing? Jesus. Plane hijacking? Jesus. Sex? Jesus. Pop culture? Jesus. Trans people? Jesus. Seriously. Christians are being told that they are a gateway to damnation. Coloring books. Yep. and there was a HUGE outcry at my kids' school when a parent found out that a teacher was using the last ten minutes of the day to reward the kids by reading aloud to them - from a book about black magic and devil worship. Yeah, Harry Potter. Before it was a big deal, before anyone had heard of it, my son was exposed to that evilness by a second grade teacher. parents objected, because there was some Christian outcry against it, much like the current BS about yoga. The teacher had to stop reading the book, and more than one second-grader was reduced to tears because they needed to find out how the story ended. I went out that same day and bought the book so I could finish reading it to my son. I figured any book that would hold the attention of my hyperactive kid, had to be a great book. I still credit that teacher, and JK Rowling, with getting my son interested in reading. 14 Link to comment

backformore March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Paula and CCB were spouting the knee-jerk Christian conservative crap about religion in school. Prayer in school is good, even if it means having atheist, Jewish, Muslim kids say Christian prayers. If the "liberals" won't mandate prayer in school, then anything that might hint at another belief system needs to be banned. Yoga? Really? It's a great way to help kids slow down and focus. Some schools do "brain breaks", stretching, walking, meditation. Yoga is the same kind of thing. A tool to help kids focus. But, some people are upset that it's not prayer. And it isn't. There is nothing anti- Christian about it. Looking inward just means making yourself aware of your breathing, your mind and body. It's crazy that anyone would object. But the basis for the objection is pretty much "if we can't have Christian prayer in school, then you can't have anything that is at all related to any other belief system.." 10 Link to comment

SanDiegoInExile March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 (edited) Surprise, surprise CCB doesn't understand the humor in a Funny or Die piece. And who believes she truly wants to understand the whole transgender "thing"? I'm a gay lefty and I have to agree with CCB on this one. That video wasn't really "Funny" at all. Usually the Funny or Die videos are much better. (It might have been better had all the activities shown be shown in REVERSE, maybe?) Sadly, the whole discussion was the typical ViewJumble. The law that was raced through the duly-elected rightwing NC legislature and hastily signed by the equally rightwing governor is entirely different than the one that ended up being vetoed by the GA governor. CCB made a decent point that mocking the entire state isn't productive. Shockingly, Jebidamnnearadbidracoonabibidia made the most sense. Plus, I think a lot of folks have issues with the transgender :thing: Caitlin Jenner is the first time that many Americans have ever had to even think about the topic. And plenty of parents, gay icon Cher included, didn't get it until facing it in her own life with her own child. Maybe we will get a segment on the show with medical professionals and personal stories for CCB to :learn: As for states passing laws restricting human rights, the publicity from NC likely helped derail GA. Meanwhile, if anything, this past week will teach the folks of North Carolina that they have to vote in every election and not only when it's trendy. ETA: Meanwhile, NC has blown up. The attorney general has announced he won't defend the law in court and the Governor went on a twitter rant on Tuesday wildly trying to defend the law. Did they mention that the Thigh Gap jewelry was NOT a real thing? Yes, they mentioned that at least a half dozen times during the 4 minutes of discussion.
