I agree, going to England for Monday's events is a ridiculous idea.   If Mika mispronounces enough, and if Joe blovates enough, we may have a resurgence of the Revolutionary War.

The reason that Joe and Mika are going is that they host a 4 hour show that coincides with the proceedings in London. It would look very odd if Joe and Mika were hosting their show as usual from the Jupiter studio.

IMO, it would look quite normal. Viewers have been subjected to that for years now.

There is no need for them to go at all. I would think that NBC would just broadcast one coverage, with their experienced  journalists, and run it on MSNBC and whatever other channels they offer. One seamless production, without Joe's outbursts and Mika's sighs. An estimated 4 billion people will watch the proceedings and I'd venture a guess that not one of them is tuning in to hear JoMika's perspective.

There is no way The Twins will miss this; I only hope they (Joe) doesn’t try to make it about him. Or maybe discussing how nasty some political comments about Colonialism have been. Boris Johnson. Comments about body language from Kate, Megan, etc. Will the rest of “the gang” be there remotely?

The network is basically sh**ing on the rest of their reporters who are and have been there. If I were them  (the “rest”) - I would have a huge Hate on The Twins. Wait, who am I kidding? They probably already have one.

Well, I'm not very optimistic about this bc you guys know I *love* MSNBC specials, as in, something happening! and everyone's together! like the Jan 6 recaps, literally MY FAVORITE THING!

bc it gives me hope the rest of our lives isn't gonna be a cold-ass clinical impersonal digital! zoom! isolated! hellscape! that one one wants and literally no one asked for, for themselves or their children --->

But tbh everytime on MJ they've announced something interesting it's been a downer every time. Like when they announced Jan 6 specials, it was just the dull-ass boxes.

They didn't come to DC or anything for the election.

They announced a Polish special and it was just Mika in front of a Starówka photo, wtf. Not a single Polish segment or a single Polish guest? At one point Mika said to Joe, in broken Polish, I love you and please shut up (we all agree). But that was the entire extent of the Polishness on the Morning joe! Poland! Special! and it was disappointing af. 

So, yeah, idk why you all think they are actually physically going to England for this?

probably it's a "special" of some kind, but i think they stopped doing the creative fun actual *real* location shows and it's so damn depressing gaaaah

So I gotta apologize slightly bc I genuinely didn't think they were all gonna show up to do an in-person show in London... but apparently they are! So my bad. And hopefully it will be really interesting!

altho idk why ppl would stay on Park Lane though. It's boring, over-blown, commercial and polluted af. People confuse it w the UES in NYC but London is totally different and there are so many more interesting places to stay where you won't die from noise and pollution and boredom 24/7 🥴

Joe and Meeka are IT! at the network.  As to the regular MJ gang - they are in a pretty good place, career-wise. They show up, mostly agree with Joe, and collect a paycheck.  For three or four hours in the morning. I'll have what they are having.   

I wish I could be home to see some of the pomp and circumstance tomorrow;  and to listen to how The Twins handle being on the world stage. 😁 Joe's ego must be off the charts - and Meeka can bask in the afterglow.

Andrea Mitchell was on w Joe and Mika this morning and she has the.best.anecdotes, hands down. The queen doesn't sign baseballs! ahahaha! why doesn't Andrea have a podcast?? Everyone else does and 90% of them are boring. 50 years in the trenches, imagine the background tea she has ---> literally the title could be Spilling the Tea with Andrea, plz msnbc make it happen!!

I thought the live show was good but a lot of the stuff they were saying was very generic, I had a thousand questions about everything, what people were wearing (obsessed with Princess Anne's gorgeous uniform), who was the choir, what were they singing, where are they now, who is that, etc etc, they didn't really comment on any of that and didn't seem to have much information. also they kept calling Princess Catherine of something-something, I'm not exactly sure what her title is now, but they kept calling her just Kate and tbh i think it's rude to keep calling women by their abbreviates names when they've said they don't want it anymore, ymmv

ETA: edit a bit to clarify there's nothing wrong with being called Kate etc, obviously! Just that it's important to respect women's choices for what they want and also their position/honorifics, like eg Dr Jill

Kemper I understand you completely because I haven’t worn makeup in 20 years!  I still watch makeup and hair. I feel I am judging the makeup artists so I don’t really feel bad?  I think it’s so pretty but I feel like a clown wearing it myself.

I noticed a caked-on makeup day with Mika recently-lighter lipstick, right? It just occurred to me right now that she lost her mom, right? I don’t normally notice Mika’s makeup, I’m lucky if I can pick out which blonde lady is there with or without mika. Susan, Susan, Adrienne, Elise, Katty, etc.

I’m more bothered by whoever outlines BOTH NW and SR’s lips. Hey guys we’re Caucasian, and you’re both older than me let’s forget about lips ok? An extra shoutout to whoever spent a few days last year simply DRAWING A FULLER lower lip on NW. I must’ve taken a screenshot I was so horrified, and I can’t dignify speaking further because I like NW!

You guys keep posting about Jupiter FL but I’m in Canada with a first grader and I just blank out “why are they on f-ing JUPITER?” like the planet. Every. Time.

I kept thinking the 15 is “15 minutes” and I just keep nodding along to this 4 hour copy and paste mess. The Twins disappear for an hour at a time and leave their guests to interview EACH OTHER. They particularly like to dump this task on Elise Jordan, who already doesn’t look like she knows if she’s coming or going, and who can blame her?

This morning. Tuned in to hear Joe bemoaning the State of Conservatism (I think this must be his every-day talking point). What captured my interest was Meeka’s flagrant bed head; in the back; and it only showed when she turned her head to look at him as he was going on and on. She looked great from the front.

All I could think of was the Madonna song/video from maybe the 90s. My kids were teens and MTV was on quite a bit. The song was titled “Vogue” - and my only memory is her (Madonna) holding a pose. That is what I thought of as Mika was cocking her head and gazing adoringly at Joe.

I have the afternoon off so am watching some backlog MJ DVR ---> surprised Joe and Mika were back on Monday. so hopefully they recovered ok from Covid? weirdly they didn't mention it at all. 

Their Monday! shows! are always so weird, they start every week with this whiplash yelling of headlines rather than, you know, good morning, how was your weekend? tbh it's the reason I often skip Mondays, it's like running a marathon with zero warm-up. By 6.15 it usually devolves into Joe yelling.

Mika was using her stressed! anchor! voice which I'll never understand bc her natural speaking voice is actually very calming and comfortable and clear. She's over-projecting and over-emphasizing her consonants and I wonder if they told her to do it because it seems to me an over-correction for a problem that doesn't exist? maybe it's the format, I've noticed people doing this on zoom bc they think the other person is "far away". I think in the old studio days she just used to speak normally.

I'm great, thanks for checking in @neona2! A lot of tornado warnings last night, all schools in the PBC closed today, most govt/health offices and a lot of restaurants shut down or closed early. But here in Jupiter I've only seen frequent rain, a bit of wind and I lost my internet connection for about 5 minutes! 

Basically, Joe & Mika could have filmed on their front lawn without issue this morning but MSNBC seems hell-bent on putting Velshi and Sanders in mortal danger.

It sounded like she ziptied him to the bed though? That would defeat the purpose??  but she was so distraught she was all over the place so maybe I heard wrong. I hope someone starts a go fund me for her or something.

The anchor handled that so well. I couldn’t read Mika’s face though.

You’re right, I know it’s so rude and inappropriate, I cannot explain why I found it so funny, but I did. Kind of like calling a tall guy “shorty” and the Bond villainess aspect, I don’t know.  We also had a rude name for Joe where we managed to insult both genders.  But I had the same reaction when Joe called Lindsay Graham “Miss Lindsay” (also a decade ago). My youngest brother is gay! Yet I laughed SO hard. I can’t explain it. Rude jokes have to relate to specific people? I’m not sure.

When did Mika start doing her version of Tom Hanks in "News of the World?"  Did the producers have a "What to Do With Mika" meeting now that "Know Your Value" has gotten old?   All she does is read aloud headlines from different newspapers (because, as you know, such exclusive information can't be found on the internet.)  Even worse, they set up little kiosks in the studio that show the front pages of the newspaper, just so Mika doesn't suffer any confusion, I suppose.  

Then again, reading from newspapers can be a tricky business.   Just this morning Mika was -- wait for it -- reading aloud an editorial from the Wall Street Journal.   A graphic appeared with the portion she was reciting ... except it bore a Washington Post masthead.

Scarborough caught it even if Mika didn't.   "That ... that's from the Wall Street Journal, not the Washington Post."  Then, like the flaming eye of Sauron, he fixed his baleful gaze on someone beyond the camera.   "Bad graphic," he said, his voice thick with disgust.  "Take it down."

The “slap and tickle” with her co-host.  The stilettos, short sheath dresses, the platinum hair, the  flirting  with Joe, etc. Then the stern, school-marm lecturer.  If it is okay to call Joe “Morning Douche”…then why is it not okay to invent a nickname (in the same vein) for Mika. We cannot have it both ways. I say this as a woman who back in the day burned my bra; something Meeka would never do - better to display “the girls” if it will get attention. I just want some sly humor and sarcasm. I will now turn my attention to The Beverly Hills Housewives.😎
