Nicole: "I'm very lucky, and I intend to stay that way ..."

... with an assist by my powerful brother-in-law, and dulling my knife in the back of my sexual competition and best friend.

$Bill drinking too much, ruminating over his past affair with Brooke, and having to remind himself he's a husband and father ... Yeah, that'll stop The Stallion.

Carter is a waffler. He's a horribly written character who is so inconsistent with his opinions. It's amazing LSV has been on the show this long. Apparently, he's really well liked by Brad Bell & the cast. Anytime, there a q&a to the cast members he always gets a shout out. It's not a terrible thing to have someone like that in your cast but the character itself annoys me to no end.

Bell refuses to write a proper story for anybody over 30. Carter is truly a waste and only eye candy. Bell acts like he can't have but one African-American family. And any other AA characters have to be related to or once associated with Maya like Carter. This younger generation can't hold a candle to the greatness that is the older generation. There's only so much waffling, Maya bum kissing, Nicole's whining, Zende's inability to decide if he wants to stay, Wyatt wanting sloppy seconds, Ivy's accent (grates on my nerves at times) and accidents, Rick's stupid haircuts, etc. that people can take.

B&B characters never grow or develop depth. Brooke is still doing the same crap she was doing 20 years. Pining behind some man that ain't hers.

Speaking of Ivy, is Ashleigh Brewer on a break from the show? Knowing these clowns, I wouldn't be surprised if that scene on the plane is the last we see of her, like when Nick Marone--a character who been on the show nearly ten years, for whose actor's salary that Schae Harrison was reportedly let go to support and hogged up screen time even more than Amber--was written out with no fanfare and no warning until the mags reported on Jack Wagner not renewing his contract.

I'm beginning to think that is the way Deacon will be written off. I expect a half assed comment that Quinn and Deacon's marriage is over and that is that. We might see him once or twice before.

I don't mind Carter in general (though for somebody on contract he's damn near Deacon-level recurring right now), but his weird defense of Zende...effectively because "boy's got needs," if I heard him right...left a sour taste in my mouth.  Then again, between that and Bill's dropping back into daydream/flashback hell over Brooke--and, God forbid, the Quad of Doom?

Am I wrong/drunk/hallucinating or, even for a show that almost prides itself on its relationship polygons, hasn't this show actually been much better at ramping up relationship doubts and uncertainties than it's been lately?  Why is it so lazy and sledgehammery now?

And why hasn't P.O.D. been fired for exposing various folks' dirty laundry?

Bill C, you're absolutely right. Even after the incest ramped up to 11 with Ridge/Bridge, TIIC used to play up the story. Even for such a horrid concept, I was more invested (for better or worse) than I am with any current triangle/quad/(insert geometric shape of choice here) of doom that I know will be turned upside down in two months....if even that long.

As for Carter, I don't mind a playboy character. We need one that isn't Liam, and frankly he's got a body that puts Ronn Moss in his prime to shame. We need folks to stir the pot, since they won't give him a story of his own.

Carter only has a personality when he's not wearing a shirt, otherwise he has minimal impact on SLs and similar flat vocal affect as Nicole and Zende

My impression of Carter's opinion of the surrogacy was that it was a technical and medical impediment to his bro getting Nicole tail first. The pregnancy and family have increased their influence on Nicole, while Zende is standing out in the cold with his limp biscuit in his hand. Carter feels validated by his initial conviction that the surrogacy was a convoluted path for Zende to get laid.

Since Nicole and Zende never actually have any contact with each other than work/home -- No dating, no going to the movies, no necking the car...being felt up...

over the bra...under the blouse...shoes off...over the panties...no bra...blouse unbuttoned...Calvin's in a ball on the front seat (Thank you, Bender) ... None of the standard hormonal young adult behaviors for our young non-lovers.

They meaningfully mouth-breath at each other -- Zende interested in Nicole's form, Nicole interested in Zende's pedigree and good manners -- speaking of some banal future personal involvement. They can't be bothered to get all sweated up because they prefer to talk themselves out of physical contact for other activities -- like Nicole being pregnant and not know squat about what she was getting herself into, and Zende's growing resentment that Nicole's pregnant by other means than Zende fucking her first.

The Surrogacy Sex Torture, Who's the Daddy Ridge/Caroline/Thomas debacle, the Quad of Suck, combined with Redux $Brill, have made The Bold and Beautiful unwatchable.

You're sober. Lazy is cheap and easy.

P.O.D.?

My first thought was the role playing game Pay or Die or the band, but that's probably not what you mean ...

Isn't airing dirty laundry coin of the realm on Soaps?

Blame AussieBabe for that one.  P.O.D. is the forever Partially Open Door to Ridge/Rick/Gandalf/whothefuckever's office at FC.  At the very least it needs to outsource some of its work to other doors, like Bill's Office Door or Eric's Front Door.

That said, though, you made an extremely good point:

This goes straight back to something you said a while back about the lack of wooing, but...other than that one attempt to get their freak on which almost literally withered and died when Zende felt up Nicole's tummy, I'm not sure we've ever actually seen them go out and just be a couple or whatever.  Or hear about them going out prior to Surrogacy Hell.  Shit, we almost never see anybody else go out anyway, but with them it might actually be worse since they went straight from that into It's Sasha!

I haven't seen the past few episodes, since I've had my son home sick for the past three days, and it looks like there's nothing worth actually pulling them up on my DVR to watch?

Is Ivy really just gone?  What the hell, show?  There can be only Steffy?  Although...

If Deacon is non-existent, and Bill is eventually going to find his way into Brooke's bed, that means both Quinn and Katie are freed up for Liam?  The only two women he genuinely has chemistry with?  (Although Quinn might actually break him...)

It seems to me that no door closes completely or there are locks for any door in L.A.

It's hard to care if Zende and Nicole agreed to some long-term courting period or Hit It and Quit It in the FC steam room, they're not a very convincing romantic couple.

The last time Zende invited Nicole out and it turned into sneaking Nicole up to his room with no food/drinks/foreplay for their first sexxxy time, they were decidedly not sexxxy together. She looked like she was trying on a size 6 shoe on a size 8 foot, and Zende looked like he was unfamiliar with human females -- Not a pretty sight.

Zende isn't demonstrative, but he and It's Sasha! seem more animated together. It's Sasha! is not much of an actress, but she brings more emotion to the table -- The scene where she stood at the P.O.D., and overheard Nicole thanking Rick for giving her the shaft, was well done. It's Sasha! showed in those few seconds disappointment, disbelief, and anguish at losing her opportunity and best friend to Nicole's jealousy. I felt for her losing again to another SAvant's selfishness and self-interest.

?

We know that Nicole is a virgin but is Zende a virgin also? Neither of them looked like they actually knew what that were doing. It was like two thirteen year olds playing 7 minutes in heaven. Nicole is still considered a virgin after she gives birth and if she has a c-section, Zende will be the first one to enter her .... There was more heat between Aly and Oliver than Nicole and Zende. I'm pretty sure that it was Oliver's experience, with women, that didn't make Aly look awkward. I also, think that Sasha has more experience with men and that's why she seems to be very comfortable with Zende and seems to bring confidence to Zende. Edited by Waldo13

Ashleigh Brewer could be on vacation, I suppose...I'd be inclined to think we'd have heard one way or another if she was exiting the show.  OTOH, we still don't know what the heck is up with SK at this point.

And so, as for Liam's post-QoD options...him hooking up with Quinn if Deacon's indeed gone would either be utter hate-sex or, dare I say preferably, some sort of gonzo Morgan/Ava (GH) "Why the hell can't we stay away from each other?!?" thing...and I kind of want to see it now, if only for the subsequent Trick-esque visual of Wyatt's head literally exploding in a black cloud of chicken-comb hair after walking in on them.  (Bonus points if he invokes "I friggin' forbid it!")

Him hooking up with Katie would sortakinda fall under his usual Rescue Ranger thing, so...I think I'd take it (he does have chem with Heather Tom, after all), and if he's indeed a bugfixed Ridge it'd be the first woman he picks up from Dad, but I think I'd rather have the hatesex.

Sasha is attractive but as a model she lacks something Tyra would always lament on ANTM -

(she doesn't SMIZE??? "smile with your eyes!") that she's too safe looking. Nothing stands out or is edgy. She's attractive but safe. JMHO of course. A lot of top models I think look safe or boring like karlie kloss.

I watched last weeks’ shows on Saturday. I loved seeing Steffy’s face crack, but the scene just didn’t ring true to me. I would think at some point Liam would have asked Steffy how she can pretend to not know what Liam is talking about when she was in bed with Wyatt. Of course once Steffy knows about what Liam saw she’ll rant about how nothing happened, but all I can say to that is, for someone who was preaching to Ivy about proper girlfriend behavior, Steffy wouldn’t know proper behavior to save her life. I guess we’re supposed to think Steffy’s sleep attire was sexy…I say it looks like she tries too hard.

As far as Nicole goes…let’s see, Sasha is always competing with Nicole and Sasha gets all the hot guys. Ummm Nicole, I believe that it is you who is competing with her, not the other way around. Prediction; this hurts and angers Sasha so much that she eventually blabs about her paternity, causing Nicole to miscarry.

She wants him back and she's going to tease him until he breaks.  Then she can be all swept away by his passion, and declare she couldn't help herself, and she was overcome by emotion. And 'oh Katie we're so sorry we hurt you.'

Another day & still no Thorsten Kaye. I'm beginning to think he is leaving or has already left. How far along is Caroline supposed to be? I guess him being gone for so little no doesn't affect the storyline baby wise. He could still come back months later and she would still be pregnant, right? If they were going to recast again I doubt they would bring Moss back since he's way too old for Godfrey but perfect for KKL. What's the over/under on Kaye coming back?

Heh, with Brooke and other women's men it's more like the power of the cooch but SP would probably be violating some kind of decency standards if they put that on the cover of the magazine.

Somebody mentioned Ridge today so maybe there's hope. But haven't there been spumors floating that CBS isn't going to renew their contract with the producers of B&B? And didn't Bell Jr say that they'd simply convert the show into a web series? If any of that is true and actually happens, I could see TK not wanting to go down that road again.

What exactly does The Power of the Kiss have to do with an industry fashion magazine?

Is the energy Brooke brings to Eye On Fashion a transformation into a stupid woman's Cosmopolitan?

February's issue should already be in subscribers mail boxes and at news stands, the March issue in composition for the printer, and the April issue should be in the planning stages of Too Nasty to Stay Secret For Easter -- You Have To Learn This Sex Diddle! It Will Drive Him BERSERK For Lent!

Glad to hear TK is back. I want the Ridge, Caroline, Thomas & baby storyline moved into Hugh gear. I can't even recall Ridge & Eric discussing "his grandson" being born. It's sort of a weird island storyline. The only people involved have been Ridge, Caroline & Thomas. I think Brooke was there in the beginning but then she was moved to no storyline and now is in the Bill & Katie storyline. The writing has been all over the place. Unfortunately, it's been Liam, Ivy, Wyatt & Steff 24/7. Bleh!

No kidding. How are they even "in love"? It's almost like one of those catfishing stories where morons fall in love with people they've never met just because the photos their "beloved" stole and put on a fake Facebook page are hot.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for Nicole because she has the sads about deliberately screwing over her best friend? And all because she's worried she'll lose her "boyfriend" of two minutes because of her pregnancy, which she also chose? Because I don't. Own your actions, TyraLite. You don't get to be the victim when you're the one making all the decisions.

Can we ship Nicole back to Illinois* and keep Sasha and Mr. and Mrs. Avant? The actress playing Sasha is really improving, while the actress playing Nicole has apparently topped out at "blank stare".

*As someone from Illinois, the way they refer to the state cracks me up. Where are they supposed to be from, exactly? They've implied it's a small town where everyone is up in everyone else's business, but wasn't Mr. Avant a limo driver? So it can't have been that small. Plus, most people from a city would refer to that city, not the state, e.g. "back to Chicago/Peoria/Springfield", not "back to Illinois". It's a big state! Or simply say, "back home". It's like they constantly have to remind us that the Avants are Not From Here. lol

With all of Maya's money, why the heck hasn't she moved her parents out of the Motel,6 and into a nice apartment?

Brooke offered her home and they declined, so I'm guessing it's their choice to stay in the motel. Maya once mentioned her father was proud and wouldn't take handouts, and she even snuck money into her mother's purse.

Ugh, I'm sick of this show and their personality swapping. Five minutes ago Sasha was a schemer who came to town to blackmail her dad, and was batting her eyelashes at Zzzzzende. Now she's a sweet, innocent victim of Nicole's (no doubt pregnancy induced*) jealous haterade.

And Carter spends all his time now trying to get Zzzzzende laid by a woman who has nothing else going on in her life because HEAVEN FORBID his ken-doll crotch isn't her top priority at all times.

Bell wants his characters to be hated. How else would you explain Ivy's personality transplant or Julius going from church going, God fearing, hurting father of a TG child struggling to accept her to him promising his mistress to leave his wife and fathering a child outside of his supposedly tight union. I'm really beginning to think that the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.

We have all these triangles going on, and no one is intrigued by them. Brooke and Bill are dull as hell to me. I just don't see the spark or any flames there. It's irritating watching him fantasise. Same script, different characters.

Brill fan, party of one, signing in here.

I get that people don't like Brooke being painted with the homewrecker tarbrush and think that's what rekindling Brill will do.

I beg to differ. It's righting a wrong TPTB did the first time around when they had ass Ridge break up the Brill wedding and decided, with KKL taking a much-needed vacation, to just upend everything and had Bill, who by that point tolerated Katie as the mother of Will only, throw a baby fit when Brooke left and make the asinine decision to reunite with Katie.

It was the grown up (well, not really) version of him taking his ball and going home.

We all know that had Brooke never left, Brill would still be together. Brooke knows it. Bill knows it. Katie, deep down in that pin head of hers, knows it.

The only reason Bill has been seemingly so happy with Katie is because he thought Brooke had moved on, body, mind, and soul and he's Big Bad $ Bill. He can't be seen to be pining away for the true love of his life. And yet for all the devoted husband/father stuff with Katie (and I don't doubt he's "content" with the family life and finally getting to raise a child from birth), I always knew Brooke was there, in his heart, the entire time and that all it would take was the strike of a match (funny you should mention that, Cool Breeze LOL) for his feelings for her to return full force.

Brooke's confession that she is still in love with him was the striking of that match and she all too quickly wanted to put a stop to things - once again, the sacrificial lamb for poor Katie - but there is no going back to pretending they're not in love with each other.

Brooke has backed off, showing her strength and determination to stand on her own two feet, which Bill admires so much, but you can tell, they want this so badly, they can taste it and I want this for them because for me, watching them all these years, I feel like finally, Brooke has the life and the man she has always wanted. Not the pale imitations she's known before and yes, that includes the Original Waffleman, Ridge. Other than Deacon in the early days, no man has ever stood up for Brooke the way that Bill has. No one has ever loved her because of, not in spite of, the way that Bill has.

And the same is true for her feelings for him. It's unconditional, accepting him, flaws and all, and embracing his dark side so that he can feel free to step into the light.

Katie loves Bill for who she wants him to be, who she thinks he is right now, but that Bill just doesn't exist. He never did. The real Bill is the one we've seen with Brooke and vice versa.

As for the homewrecker - I don't want to hear that argument because it could be applied to Katie as well so for me, it's even stevens. Katie cheated with Nick, wrecking his home with her like-a-daughter-niece, Bridget (who was busily trying to find a cure for Katie's poor ticket, never knowing Katie was schtupping her husband). She also cheated with Ridge when he was engaged to Brooke, faking a heart attack to stop their wedding. And with Brill the first go-round, she shoved them together and they fought their feelings for over a year before, having enough of Katie's ultimatums and taking her ring off and proclaiming their marriage over like the boy who cried wolf, Bill called her on her bluff and finally consummated his relationship with Brooke.

Setting aside Brill for a moment, if I thought TPTB could drum up a bonafide man for Brooke (and no, please, not Eric), I could get on board with that but given the brevity of the show and the current canvas, I don't see that happening. Trust, I was watching DOOL with Vincent Irrizary's arrival and thought, if not Bill, then how I wish this guy could come on for Brooke. But again, that ain't happening.

The other alternative is to have Brooke be alone, doling out the occasional sage advice every other week or so. No. The character and the actress deserve better. She should be frontburner and kicking ass and taking names in the business world, with Bill by her side.

I want Brooke happy and in love and honestly, at this point, I don't give a tinkers' dam about Katie. She can cry me a freaking river but I'm not going to have much sympathy when all but pushed Brooke and Bill together the first go-round, broke up Bridge after Brooke did the selfless thing and sent Bill back to Katie (and I will never forget that Brooke is the reason Katie got control of Spencer and custody of Will back), and Katie herself was all too willing to be the default choice. And now, she wants to proclaim how happy she is and how much she just loves Brooke and wants them all to work together?

Bitch, please.

It's never enough for Katie - having Bill back, having Ridge and his nasty red ribbon (we all know she got with Ridge because she could and what better way to stick it to Brooke and after said sticking was done, Katie was done with the relationship - it would have ended no matter what since it served its purpose, Caroline or no Caroline).

Now, she wants to play magnanimous sister and give Brooke a front-row seat to just how HAPPY she is and rub Brooke's face in it. I don't doubt Katie loves Brooke but I think she equally despises her for having everything Katie's ever wanted. And I'm sorry, but a blind man in a snowstorm could sense what's still there between Brooke and Bill - Katie is either a masochist or deliberately obtuse if she can't sense it and, as I suspect, she does know (at least where Brooke's feelings are concerned) and she's determined to punish Brooke even further by offering her a job she knows Brooke won't refuse out of loyalty and love for Katie.

The fact that is has backfired spectacularly is what I like to call chickens coming home to roost.

So long-winded story short - I'm very glad Brill is back and I'll enjoy it and the smokin-hot heat it brings for as long as it lasts.

I agree.  I think they absolutely put an end to Brill because of KKL's break.  That led to them deciding to reunite him with Katie, and leave them be for a while.  I wasn't sure they were ever going to go back there, because it was possible they'd just decided "screw it, we'll just stick with Katie and Bill."  The only thing I'm really against in this story is how fast it's moved.  Either that or we just haven't seen it happening in the background all this time, and Loading Dock Guy has a ton of stories he could tell us about the building awareness and tension between the two of them over the past few months or so.

I just don't get it. The only story Bell can conjure up is the love triangle, accompanied by non-triangle'd characters throwing their two cents into the triangle-shaped fountain.

I just can't summon any enthusiasm for Nicole and Zende's weird romance that isn't and never was, Bill deciding it's easier to be with someone who will accept that he's a giant asshole, or worst of all, the Steffy/Wyatt/Liam farce and all the predictable, retread misunderstandings that come with it.

Nicole and Zende are a wrong fit, right from the start, so I honestly wish he would just sleep with Sasha Not-So-Fierce already so we can move on from the kiddie pool.

If I were Zende, I wouldn't have given milquetoast puppy-love-eyes pregnant-with-her-brother-in-law's spawn Nicole a second glance after Sasha came on the scene.

I mean, is this seriously even a contest?

Bell wants his characters to be hated. How else would you explain Ivy's personality transplant or Julius going from church going, God fearing, hurting father of a TG child struggling to accept her to him promising his mistress to leave his wife and fathering a child outside of his supposedly tight union. I'm really beginning to think that the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.

We have all these triangles going on, and no one is intrigued by them. Brooke and Bill are dull as hell to me. I just don't see the spark or any flames there. It's irritating watching him fantasise. Same script, different characters.

Second to Ivy's personality transplant what I hate the most is Quinn being made into a cartoon character as an over the top busy body to the nth degree. Yes, she's always been a control freak but she is at the point of complete and utter annoyance. Please can someone slip her some Prozac.

Liam, you almost made me feel bad for Steffy today. As I said, almost. Why couldn't he just say that he saw her with Wyatt; but no, Liam had to get on his high horse to make Steffy feel bad and take the heat off himself for the shit he pulled. Liam, like his dad, are never wrong and are legions in their own minds.

Why can't Zende and Nicole have a character change and gain a personality.

Isn't that redundant?

Not at all.

What Brooke is Imagineering is a window ... no, a garage door into her own pathetic psyche. Nobody needs a monthly magazine delving into Brooke's historic DESTINY travails and techniques ... particularly when she has learned nothing except how to 'em panting.

Cosmopolitan fronts itself as a magazine when it's become a catalog for trendy products and fashion marketing scattered with articles on junk science, junk psychology, junk sociology and junk medicine that simultaneously market and reinforce feminine cultural insecurities on page after page of lurid advertising and severely photoshopped images. Yellow and Pink magazine publications (so-called for the color of typeface on the cover) are primarily sales catalogs in the guise of magazines, often supported by articles written by the same companies and brands purchasing advertising.

That could probably be said of most so-called women's magazines or men's magazines. But regarding Cosmopolitan in particular, I don't think it's aimed at intellectuals. I think a stupid woman's version of it would probably have to be written in crayon on construction paper, with the pages tied together with yarn and no sentences longer than four words.

Re Katie, I think she enjoys playing the martyred victim. What better way to accomplish that than insist of having Brooke and Bill in each other's daily orbit again? Subconsciously, Katie knows what's likely to happen and she's ready play the "how could you do this to me!?" card as only she can with her bad ticker at the ready.

They missed a great opportunity to have Liam come home, find Wyatt and Steffy asleep in his bed and just have him plop down in a chair in the bedroom and watch and wait for them to wake up and then greet them with a 'Good morning? Sleep well. I know I did! Before you guys leave, burn the sheets, please. Thanks!'

Sasha is a waitress who saved up enough cash to afford a stay in LA for weeks now? Avants were in Hawaii for quite a few days. How is she supporting herself? Zende and Nicole live together yet he didn't discuss Sasha's firing with her. WTF? Show is shit. I'm out if the writing doesn't improve and it doesn't look like it will...
