Leon Brown: So Here's Me

Pallas
Message added by Scarlett45,

Leon is transgender and uses they/them pronouns. As defined in the GLAAD guidelines, they are a they, were a they, and will be a they unless they ever tell us something different.  Per those guidelines, referring to them as a woman or a girl or as she is not okay, regardless of any modifier placed before these words or the time period being discussed.  Referring to them by any name besides "Leon" or "Leo" is not appropriate, regardless of the time period being discussed. Intent matters and people may slip up. Let's strive to respect their identity.

My opinion for what its worth re: Mariah - she is finally happy, finally feels good about herself and is now ready to show the world.  She surely doesn't have that pinched whiny look she had when they were moving into "the homes".  would I do that? No.  But she is for all intents and purposes, a kid.  And she is starting over in her newly recognized identity.  And she has someone to love and who loves her back.  Heady stuff for sure.  I will cut her some slack for a minute.

I have to agree.  This is the best time of her life right now.  No children to care for, going to school, a girlfriend and the world at her feet.

Good for her!

Good for her indeed, she seems to be one of the few Brown girls to pursue a higher education.  Not sure about Aspyn, she was enrolled at UNLV in 2015, but don't know if she completed or what field she was studying.

Maddie has made a few false starts at college, but now seems to be settled into domestic bliss with a beautiful baby, a neck- bearded, cap -wearing, good ol' boy of a hubby and a career path as a LLR consultant.

Mykelti has long ago given up on her aspirations to be a fashion designer, but I have no idea what employment she is engaged in...maybe still working at the Utah pawn shop?

Mariah tweeted that she saw lightning bugs for the first time in her life, after moving to Chicago. Are there no lightning bugs out west?

I looked it up, lol.

In the U.S., almost no species of fireflies are found west of Kansas—although there are also warm and humid areas to the west. Nobody is sure why this is. There are many species of fireflies throughout the world, and the most diversity in species is found in tropical Asia as well as Central and South America.

Interesting.  That is one of my fondest childhood memories.  Mom and Dad and my brother and sister.  My parents would set on the porch or in lawn chairs and we would run around catching them and putting them in a glass jar.  Family time and it doesn't cost a cent.

My hair stylist has lived in different parts of the country, and she visits her daughter in NC.  According to her, the fireflies there are amazing to watch at night.

I'm in the PNW and have never seen one.  The east coast seems to have much more colorful birds than we have here in the west, too.  I've seen western tanagers and goldfinches (state bird) but never an oriole or a cardinal.  Ironic that the St. Louis Cardinals became the Arizona Cardinals, when I'm pretty sure AZ doesn't get any of those birds, either.

I wouldn't wear the shoes, simply because I don't like to draw attention to my big feet.  I'm hopeful for Mariah to outgrow her mother's bitchy ways, now that she's living her truth.  With such narcissistic parents though, who knows.

The question:  Who is the biggest narcissist of all?  Kody, Meri, or Mariah?

Just in that order. Kody, because well, he IS the king, isn't he? Meri, 2nd because come on! She thought the handsome and educated bachelor billionaire was wanting HER?! She buys a huge house in LV she does not need, nor can she afford because she deserves it?! She buys a second house in Parowan that she cannot afford, nor does she need, because she WANTS it! The list with Meri can go on and on...

and Mariah is their spawn.  She's headed into Meri territory. Time will tell.

OMG with the eyebrows.  Wonder where she is going to get all the money to buy all the stuff she wants for their new apartment? I looked at rents near the university and studios 300-400 sq.ft., are $900, one bedroom $1,200-$2,700.  Wonder if Meri and Kody are helping her?

Meri has two mortgages and her own bills to pay.  Kody has underage children that still need money. Mariah is an adult.

I'm going to guess based on personal experience (family members not mine!) that the renting, furnishing, etc will be paid for via student loans.

I didn’t know you could do that. I guess it will be like her parents including appliances , blinds , and whatever else in their mortgages.

You're not supposed to, and it's not a good idea, but people do.

Actually many student loans (including federal) can be used toward housing and other living expenses as these are included in the "Cost of Attendance" or COA.  There are also grants and scholarships that can be utilized for living expenses.

I just was talking about it in terms of the debt burden afterwards.
