I don't think so. I think Jason will be a much more emotional person, hitman or not, and I don't think he will be a hitman. I think he will still be Sonny's friend, but Billy Miller will also throw in lots of "buddys" and call Carly "sweetheart", and I'll feel awkward. I don't think BM has the ability to just be stone faced 24/7.

The first time I heard the "Buddy" I felt...uncomfortable. Just no - no, stop it. Stop it right this second. Sonny is no one's "buddy" goddammit.

Same!

Heh, that really is the root of my bitterness over Sam, from start to finish. I remember then I actually entertained the idea of Kelly joining the show as Livvie and still being Kevin's' daughter...alas. What a waste.

And really, the more and more I think about Michael's behaviour of late, and since I am in a delusional sort of mood, what I would give to see a scene where Monica approaches Michael, aka Daddy Sonny's new stand in, and just stares at him and says in as tired, disappointed, and heartbroken a tone of voice as Leslie can muster: "I am not sure what hurts me more. The fact that I lost Jason, your father and now you to Sonny. Or that Sonny has finally won and completely destroyed my family".

I would then like for Michael to drown in a pool filled with his own shame and self loathing.

Remember during the custody battle with Michael, how your biological rights superseded everything!

Sonny had no biological rights, because AJ is Michael's bio dad. That's why he eventually had to meat-hook AJ.

I don't like Ava being blackmailed, it should have been mutual.

Totally agree. I don't know why it's so all or nothing with Ava. Just being Paul's stooge is boring, especially since she's supposed to have some smarts of her own.

I do continue to be amused that Sam's relationship with Silas has been poofed out of existence.

It was always meant to be El Reboundo, but wow. It might as well have been a ONS with some day player. (I still love you, Michael Easton!)

Thanks for the recap, OnceSane. I saw all of that, so I guess the only thing cut off was the Monday preview.

It's Sonny's restaurant, which is in Port Charles.

I loved how no one had a problem meeting on Sonny's turf. Isn't neutral territory supposed to be a big deal for mob meetings? And the dude from Cosa Nostra also cracked me up. Oh, Show. You're trying way too hard here.

I wasn't a fan of yesterday's director.  Yeah, show us the back of Paul's head while Alexis stands in the doorway to leave.  Was that the only camera angle available?  I know they needed the "face the camera with an evil stare" after Alexis leaves, but eye candy is the only thing this show has going for it.  Back of RB's head doesn't do it for me.

If you're curious, the previews were

-Carly telling Sonny they have to "fight for their little girl". ugh.

-Michael asking for the name of whoever shot Sonny and Ava making duck lips

-Anna asking Alexis if she really believes Julian

-Paul telling Dante he looks forward to working with him

-Patrick telling Liz he thinks he shouldn't've proposed

-Sam telling Jason she thinks he is still alive

So...  The STUPID LIttle SHIT has returned?

All they really needed to do to make the transition complete was to dye his hair red.

I was kind of hoping that they would preface the 'moment of silence' for Serge by revealing to Michael that Sonny had killed him in that very room, just a few weeks ago. Does anyone in PC know about Sonny's twirl and shoot? (and how Sonny's getting shot might be a retaliation for that shooting?)

I also hope that if Carly and Sonny get married to help in the custody case, Ava's lawyer mentions the time where Carly made Sonny relinquish his paternal rights after getting Michael shot in the head.

Why I still hope anything with regards to this show has to be a sign of illness.

So now Liez is so crazy that she's loosing her ability to hide her desperation from Patrick.

Her behavior today was on Level 3,000 Volts of Cray. He is going to flip the fuck out when he finds out that she was pushing him towards Sam because she was trying to keep Jason for herself.

I have sat through a lot of bad crap over the years, but today I have tried to watch and have had to turn it off 3 different times. If Sonny wins this one I am done. What makes him think he's better than Ava, and watching everyone falling over themselves to sing Sonnys praises. Do they think the people they kill have no loved ones at home feeling the same as they are now. The hypocrisy is just too much, I watch TV to relax and more and more I am just livid trying to watch this BS.

Sonny shot him at a different restaurant. Poor Serge.

I don't think Michael or Morgan know that Sonny killed the Russian.

As much as the Sonny martyr tour is insane, I'm not a fan of the mini Julian one either. I'm glad that Morgan and Michael (and Olivia, and yeah, Dante too) will realize how they were wrong but I'm not a fan of Anna having to catch flack for it as well.

-Sam telling Jason she thinks he is still alive

Ahhh yes, the amazingness of all the fuckary involved with that nonsense.

And dammit now I want a scene where Jason argues with Sam that she has to believe that he is truly, without a doubt worm food.

As he should. Samtrick are a void of blah, but the narrative is saying Patrick fell for Sam. Okay. So, using that, if Liz were honest and spilled long ago, Patrick would have never gotten involved with Sam to begin with. So he wouldn't have things implode again.

Good to know I can blame Liz partially for this clusterfuck, too. As if I didn't have enough reasons to hate her. I guess there really is a silver lining to everything!  :-)

Then again, though, as someone else said, Liz will probably boo hoo and she will get a pat on the head. I half expect the sky to rain blood before anyone is allowed to remain mad at Liz for more than a commercial break.

I get why most think that everyone is going to forgive Liz in one scene, but y'all. Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, and Jason Thompson are going to get those Emmy reels. Their characters are going to be maaaad. It's a given.

JT ain't getting no Emmy nom with a forgiveness scene. Patrick will go batshit over his true love Sammy. I have no doubt.

Patrick Thompson will probably call Liz a bitchslutwhoretramp for ruining his pwerfect fwamawee, and then play the guitar while crying out in the snow.

I haven't watched in over a month, but just reading here what happens every episode makes me pissy.

I was referring to Sonny and Michael's battle over Avery and how everyone and their mother was telling Michael how dare he keep Sonny from Avery because she's Sonny's daughter and how desperately important that biological tie was.

They (and Rebecca Herbst) can get their Emmy reels in an episode just like JJ got his when Lucky found out about Liz rutting with Nikolas. It doesn't mean their anger will last long.

Oh, I'm not saying it will last a long time. Look what happened with Michael. Less than a year he was mad at Sonny? And that was murder. I'm saying the forgiveness scene won't be the next episode for Liz.

I watched the last 8 minutes of this mess until my local station cut away for yet MORE Pope news. Did anyone see Michaels face when Ava came strolling in?

Minor reaction.

Mostly I was struck, other than the overdone intros, how much better the crime commission members are as compared to the main criminal cast on the show. Anna and Jordan (...Dante/Val/Nathan) vs those guys could be interesting.

Liz found out after SamTrick were already a thing....I think they were already living together.

Oy.  Today was....interesting.  Liz is just a fucking delusional psycho, and it's SUCH a fucking plot point that Sam NOW thinks Jason is still alive.  She has, on more than one occasion, said out loud that she knows Jason isn't coming back.

RIP Michael Quartermaine, we barely knew you.

I fail to understand just why thew new head writers could not resolve this Liz/Jason/Sam/Patrick garbage now instead of draaaaaaaaaagging it out 'til November. Yeah, yeah, sweeps.

But considering how precarious the ratings are, waiting is not a great idea. That, and Ron already dragged out this amnesia crap for far too long for the current writers to expect goodwill now just to wait some more.

IA truthfully I could care less about this story but it doesn't help how its been dragged out and I still say their going to have to have something big for november sweeps to compete with days 50th annivesary.

I'm pro-Ava with regards to Avery.  I am not here to see Sonny and Carly repeat history by denying another biological parent access to their child.  And considering that their rap sheets are pretty much identical, if Sonny gets to be an involved, active parent, so does Ava.

This! I'm sick of sucky Sonny and snarly Carly hugging that pure baby to their nasty chests so self-righteously. Those two have some kind of strange phobia about insisting that they have biologically parented a child who was created with someone else. Furthermore, for all we know Carly could be lying about Avery's paternity, and may know that someone else (not Sonny) fathered Avery. In my book, Sonny is far, far worse than Ava, having killed multiple people in cold blood and run crooked businesses for years, cheating society out of tax dollars and raising the danger level of PC and its area. Ava shot one person, but she's been through hell with her illness and experience on the bridge, and losing Avery. She's no angel, but Sonny and Carly are surely devils.

Fascinating how Jake, who was employed for a day, has money for Chinese food, toys, etc.  Didn't he mention having a car, too?  Getting ELQ back for Michael must pay well, especially for having no results so far.

Don't forget the big diamond ring he gave Loony Liz, whose eyes went all tilt as she vainly stretched out her arm to admire it.

And I'm thinking there is ample evidence now that Morgan is not only bipolar, but is also brain-damaged and even senile. His constant bleating that "Julian tried to kill my daddy!" is either a mantra that he's using to become brainwashed, or evidence that he's running on only that part of the brain that we share with the dinosaurs.

Sorry, wrong custody battle! LOL.

Am I really seeing Carly call someone else a bad mother? Where is your actual daughter?

With Jax, the only sane adult in her life. In this context, Carly is an excellent mother.

Where did Avery's reddish hair come from? I hope from someone who isn't Sonny.

Michael! Surprise!!!!

Okay, I guess it could come from Morgan since his grandmother is a redhead. And I'd rather Avery be Morgan's kid than Sonny's spawn.

Back from my trip, finally caught up and I'm ready to go dive into a vat of battery acid. I think it would actually be more pleasant than watching the Corinthii. All four of them need to die a painful, fiery death. [Avery does not count as a Corinthii in this scenario.]

My girl looks so damn good though. That was such a welcome sight. I see that she's still being painted as evil incarnate while Sonny saves puppies from certain death. This agenda is so blatant. And grotesquely horrifying. I seriously think Maurice is dictating stuff behind the scenes.

Liz could not be more desperate and pathetic if she tried. Here's hoping karma bitch slaps you into tomorrow on November 6th.

Small confession: I'm looking forward to seeing Nik and Hayden again. They don't make me want to claw my own eyes out.

Lamer confession: I missed this place and everyone here. Can't wait to go back and read everyone's reactions to the past week. Imagining Heatlifer's ire at the entire Samtrick/Jakeson dumpster fire and jsbt's reaction to hearing "Just You and Me" again made me smile.

I haven't watched in over a month,

So basically, an adult kid whose parent worked as Sonny's enforcer is staying at Sonny's house is kidnapped and has a gun pointed at his head.  Sonny comes to the rescue and is shot and nearly dies.  There are a bunch of hospital scenes (thumbs up) with Sonny's family (thumbs down). The general population of Port Charles is singing Sonny's prasies. Now Sonny is engaged in custody of a baby that is apparently his.  Why wouldn't a judge grant Sonny custody for another kid to stay in his safe home environment?

If we had to have another Sonny story, I'd rather see him know Shawn is TJ's actually his bio dad and feel bad that Shawn went to prison for being his enforcer, taking a son from his father. This would lead into Sonny feeling guilty over Jason being "killed" and Danny not knowing his father, and guilt over killing AJ, taking Michael's biological father from him. After Michael went to Pentonville and was raped, there is no way in hell that Sonny nor Carly would let him go play Frodo at a Five Families Gummy Bear Mafia Club House Meeting. And there's no way in hell Michael would do it. Murdering AJ is probably the most out of character thing that Sonny has done, and I don't even like Sonny. If AJ were choking Brenda, killed Brenda, then yes. I can see Sonny killing anyone. But not over stupid Connie.

So essentially, the stupid writing Imo failed to connect simple freaking dots that could make compelling story and wrap up current dragging out story. We could still have the Ava/Avery stuff, but it'd have more meaning than Carly forgets her own daughter and Sonny spawns again.

The spectacle of two mobsters fighting for custody of their sepulcher spawn is loathsome on its own. Adding in Carly makes it vile. Why not hand the baby over to Nina at this point? She's batshit, involved with a multiple murderer, self-centered and so good with babies. That's all it takes, right?

I can't in good conscience call Michael that while Morgan exists.

I think there is enough Stupid Little Shit to go around for both of them. I think Big Bag of Dicks probably has enough room too. I cannot fathom how TPTB think these people are the heroes to be rooted for.

I'm holding out hope ( *sigh* I don't know why) that when Jason finds out who he is and what he's done he is mortified, rejects them all, and goes to get Robin, who comes back, kicks Patrick* in the balls, and flounces off. Then Jason takes his son's to Africa never to be seen again.

* Patrick reminds me: all the women that have come in and out of the house since Robin has been gone? Emma is going to be a stripper or a serial killer.

The only person Liez would really care about hating her is Jason. If he told her to fuck off she'd probably slit her wrists. She might be a little sad if Patrick or Robin went off on her but that's about it. Everyone else is varying degrees of "meh" to her.

If Robin ever comes back I don't even expect her to be mad at Liez. She'll probably just make excuses for the stupid fruit loop.

I am shocked and appalled that Pope Francis had dinner with poor people, many of whom were wimmins, but he couldn't find time to use the NYC > Port Charles wormhole to come bless Sonny.

And someone needs to correct all of our news organizations who are erroneously claiming Francis was going to elevate the first American to sainthood. Haven't any of these sick . . . Freaks :throws barware: heard of St. Jasus?!?
