Episode Discussion: TFGH

Is it just me, or is Milo taking Pip to a gym for their date really offensive, even by RC's standards?

I remember all the "fat jokes" characters lobbied at SK during his run, so maybe it just feels like Ron's being extra catty here.

I admit I haven't seen the episode, but I hope Pip rochambeau's Milo's cardboard ass.

That was the drama. Pip thought he was trying to get her to diet and exercise and got sad and a little mad. Milo just loves her and wants her to share his favorite things.

As campy as it was, it is 10 times better than Maxie's romance adventure.

I believe he would not raise someone else's child if he thought it was the spawn of Satan, which is what he thought of Franco.

But he did.  He accepted Danny as his own son and died not knowing it was his.  He knew or thought the baby was Franco's, and he was fine with raising him.  So that's not true.

He told Sam he'd kill her once when she got upset about Liz or something. It was during Sam/Lucky who were very hot. He also is responsible for her getting tortured by Franco and shot a bunch of times. He also got mega close to Liz during Water Crisis rather than care about Sam.

Ah, yes the contrived Sam let Jake get kidnapped story.  It was as contrived as Elizabeth lying about Danny's paternity in order to keep Jason away from Sam and have him to herself.  As for Sam getting tortured by Franco, you're blaming Jason for that?  That's on Franco.  So is whoever shot Sam.  I think you have a better argument that being in Jason's proximity was dangerous, just as Michael's life as been a living hell having been raised by Sonny and Carly.  However, Sam knew the danger, and she accepted it, and she never once blamed Jason for anything that happened to her that was out of his control.

But that was only after he either asked Sam to give the baby up for adoption or have an abortion. I can't remember which one it was. He came around, sure, but he didn't want the kid at first.

Okay. I just… IDK, still kind of seems like a mixed message thing. Milo says it's not about losing weight… but it's still at a gym that RC came up with, so… UGH.

I still want Pip to kick his ass. Then again, I'm pretty shocked that Milo and Pip are a thing. Did not see that one coming.

I need Billy Miller out of those bandages. But I'm really liking the vibes between him and Becky.

That said, there is no way this is going to last. I'll just enjoy it for now.

It feels like trolling, RonC just daring fans to complain without it sounding ugly. Personally, I find it hard to believe that someone like Pip who has a functioning brain in her head and an abundance of common sense, prop-duty aside, would find anything appealling about Milo. I can't even see him as physically attractive.

Did Maxie let Nathan move back into the apartment or does Madeline and Dr. O just assume he still lives there.

I had totally forgotten that Maxie was kicking Nathan out at some point.  Did it actually happen?  And if so, where has he been staying?

In other news...previews...I don't understand why Magda is threatening Dr. O to stay away from Nina.  Dr. O doesn't give a shit about Nina.

I can see Pip finding Milo attractive, but I can't see her wanting to date him. He's nice and all, but there's nothing going on upstairs. And really, to go from Billy Dee Williams to Milo? Oh, Pip, your standards have plummeted.

ETA after watching the episode: LOL at Silas's face when Nina asks him if he wants to make a baby. It was a combination of "Ew," "Hell, no," and "You've got to be kidding me."

Sam and Patrick had such great potential. Now I just don't care. Yet another squandered opportunity by a writer who insists on stupid obstacles and triangles.

I can't watch Nina/Silas. Bore me to tears.

I had this on live in the background today and was so embarrassed for ME. Michelle Stafford is horrible. All those weird faces and the baby whisper voice and the jazz hands.  And the stupid nicknames and the inability or unwillingness to pronounce Jerome correctly. Everything about her is repugnant. I want her gone more than Felix, Sabrina, Franco, Sonny, and Carly combined.

And, are Sam and Paddy carrying invisibility cloaks with them? I thought part of the deal Tracy agreed to with them yesterday (or last month {/sarcasm font}) was that they be out of sight. Sitting at a table that might be 10 feet away doesn't meet that specification in most  worlds.

Well Patrick is wearing Mr. Roger's sweater and Sam has covered up "the girls" so for them I think they consider THAT camouflage. I'm surprised wardrobe didn't at least spring for floppy hats and sunglasses.....wait 50+ cast members....nevermind.

I've got a question---

Did Maxie let Nathan move back into the apartment or does Madeline and Dr. O just assume he still lives there.

I know he was looking at the key today.

When Maxie kicked Nathan out he was basically homeless. She has moved in with Mac and Flea so Nathan can stay at the apartment since he did sublet it from her and she basically kicked him out without notice.

It's obvious that Ron's intentions are not to make Sam/Patrick a couple. Same with Jason and Liz. Like everything else, it's all about what will create the maximum drama for all parties. I miss the days when a couple was created to actually become a viable duo.

I feel bad for ME every damn day. Not only is the writing atrocious, but his acting partner doesn't mesh with him at all.

From what has been said at this board the past few days, I am actually glad that work has been crazy busy and prevented me from watching TFGH.

I think ABC should change the name of this show to "How to Get Away with Murdering Brain Cells".

I don't know if it's the writing or ME's acting choices, but I've rarely felt as uncomfortable watching this show as I did when Nina was begging Silas to screw her today.  If Silas had looked remotely into it or tempted, I might have been able to deal, but he could not have looked less interested.  I really, really do not need to see anyone, of any gender, trying to bully anyone else, of any gender, into having sex with them.  It's just gross.  Thank God Silas appears to be getting a clue.  I hope it's a sign that this rancid storyline that's eaten the show for going on a year now is finally wrapping up.

Well remember the maestro himself told us that he doesn't want to completely abandon Robin and Patrick, how could he just ignore the everlasting "true love" between them...? Excuse me as I get a crowbar to pry my eyes from their rolled up positions, went a little harder this time around.

Sam has always been...well she isn't that terrible at her job but the second coming of Nancy Drew she isn't. And Patrick is a utter waste of space on this trip, he's done nothing and will be able to do nothing to help the case along. Really his focus right now should be Emma and her safety, plain and simple but instead he wants to lie in bed next to "Sammie" and have a case of the feels...

Ron is delusional if he thinks he's preserving Scrubs with this BS storyline. I want Robin far, far, far away from Patrick. Nothing would make me happier than if she came back for an episode just to tell him he sucks.

Patrick has absolutely no story or POV. He just sat there today as a soundboard to Sam's various problems. Usually a friendship or budding romance or whatever this is called is a two-way street. Has Sam asked him how he's doing recently? Although I don't blame her because Patty acts like he has no cares in the world but when they're gonna hit the hay.

Rancide, I was also really uncomfortable watching Nina force Silas to have sex. I feel like MS's acting tics made it all the worse. I want to know who decided to pair ME and MS together in the first place.

Coffee Houses there are very up front about what it in each dose, smoked or eaten (we were still active duty when we went there and couldn't partake, but we went in to see). They are proud of what they serve.

My friend travelled to the Netherlands to meet her Dutch husband's family.  My friend is a dedicated coffee drinker, but no one in his family drank coffee.  Out of desperation, she went to a coffee house.  They handed her a very detailed menu of drugs.  The poor thing broke down crying.  I don't know if she ever got that coffee.

Dude..... didn't blame ME/Silas for not being turned on by Nina. She seemed desperate and rapey. The dialogue was along the lines of "I want you. I'm your wife. No is not an option." If that were a male saying that, it'd be way creepier. And accompanied by standard soap danger music. Plus, Silas just found out that she's been conning him about paralysis and who knows what else for how long, so yeah, um mood killer for sure, and um marriage killer for real. I also did not like Patrick's smug face while Sam plot point raged about Nina lying to Silas and blah blah. Dr. DoucheLord you are a walking lie and a hypocrite to boot. Just no. I really want Sam to smack Nina and Patrick for being liars. Then drink some non decaf. Lord, get a lollipop from Danny. Your blood sugar is low, Samantha.

And I'm sure Maxie babbled during her date or to Lulu or to a random object that she's staying with Mac and Flea. Nate has the apartment. Makes sense since, you know, Nate had a job. I do not care about Magda. But I thought she was Madeline. Whatevs.

Is Ric ever returning? Are they ever re-addressing that storyline? Or is that being shelved until it's time for Alexis to break up with Julian for another reason?

I'm assuming they are waiting until this whole "Who is Luke?" thing gets blown wide open before they pick back up with that.  Ric will be alive, Molly will be happy, Alexis will swallow her pride and apologize to Julian via sex (again).

That was the drama. Pip thought he was trying to get her to diet and exercise and got sad and a little mad. Milo just loves her and wants her to share his favorite things.

There is no pleasing you people!!!!!! We had a Sonny free, Carly free, Kiki, free, Spencer free day and you still complain! Do you want more Corinthos? Because that complaining will lead to more!

I liked Milo and Pip. They were honest with each other and solved a potential issue through adult conversation. ( Pip needs to check herself though; personal trainers are hella expensive, this guy likes her and will train her for free because they are dating!)

There is a distinction between coffee house and coffee shop, but I can't remember which has the drugs and which does not ( My husband's family are from The Netherlands and have explained this to me more than once, but I still mix it up)

I had the show on live this afternoon.....and I didn't pay attention to ANY of it.  Not even when my girl was on.  I only noticed the silly cafe they were in that was meant to look Amsterdam-ey.

Very sad indeed.

That set was awful. Some half-assing occurred the day they shot that!

Michelle Stafford clearly has little to no time for any performance or anyone's moment other than her own, and her craziness resonating with the worst of Howarth's tics is just awful.

You've clarified something about her scenes that I haven't able to figure out on my own: She doesn't give and take well with her scene partners, it's more like she's waiting for them to be done so she can do.....whatever it is she's doing. (That backwards sweater thing was an odd choice. I would love to know her reasoning with that because it took me right out of the moment, and I couldn't get back into the rest of their scenes all episode)

Those scenes were just gross. Plus, not at all helped by MS playing them with her usual sexay sexay thing. Because she is the sexiest sexay that ever sexed or something. I do think ME's disgusted looks were awesome. The backwards sweater thing bugged me too.

Lulu at least was smart this episode and wanted Maxie to go to Diane to tell her about the ass judge to do something.

I really like Lulu making sense! Of course Maxie won't listen.

Listen while I think Pip and Milo are kind of lame and I don't understand why they are getting screen time - I'd still rather watch that than Sonny plotting to kill someone, Lucy chomping on bread like a mad woman and Kiki or Sabrina doing anything.

ME seems engaged again.  I didn't really watch OLTL so I didn't know ME when he started GH.  I didn't mind him as John McBain with Dante and Anna at all.  I was less enthusiastic about Dr. Curmudgeon or Caleb the campy.  I don't think it was much fun playing the emasculated by guilt and manipulated by lies Silas.  Now that he has something to be legitimately pissed about and is taking steps to investigate, I like him a whole lot better.

Now MS, for me she has moments of brilliance - as long as she is actually playing a malignant narcissist and not just acting bat shit crazy for the camera.  The voice machine rant to Rosalie was spot on.  Long and rambling, friendly, apologetic, charming - oblivious to reality - and then finishing with malicious threat.  Yep.  The whole I will screw you in the supply closet whether you like it or not is the act of a woman running out of weapons in her arsenal.  Silas handled her well, got her out of sight where she could rant and manipulate.  He diffused the situation.  Totally cringeworthy but not because the scene was badly done.

Maxie.  No, no, no, no, no! Don't put this off as a favorite future whine topic!  Speaking for many I am sure, we don't want to hear it! Go see Diane and find out about getting another judge before flipping out and taking it as absolute, he's overstepping his bounds.

I agree with Lulu and her straight on advice on that one and boy does it make me feel dirty to say it.  That said, Lulu was cute today with her braid and workout gear.  On her way to kickboxing pushing an obviously empty baby stroller.

I did enjoy the contrasting conversations between two sets of friends - Lulu and Maxie make great friends and so do Nathan and Dante.  It's interesting to watch relationships from different perspectives, dare I say entertaining?  All the people are pretty and no one is sneering or shooting.  Although in no reality would these people actually be friends after all the shit that has gone down between them.  And I'm including Nathan in that.  He's kinda a good natured, well-meaning clunk (and hooray for that, makes a nice change) who Maxie treated horribly during their "meet cute" stage.  He's like the guy who actually marries the Bridezilla, overlooking or minimizing those pesky negative character traits while staring at her boobs.  Maybe the boys would get along.  Any way, I'm glad they all made up and will agree to overlook the past in order to enjoy the novelty of two couples being friends and having fun together.   This is a refreshing change of pace for Show and I for one hope it continues.

I know I watched yesterday's show, but I honestly did not remember anything about it until I read the comments here.  That seems like a problem, especially for a Friday episode.  But my memory is refreshed now, so here we go!

You've clarified something about her scenes that I haven't able to figure out on my own: She doesn't give and take well with her scene partners, it's more like she's waiting for them to be done so she can do.....whatever it is she's doing.

Excellent points about Nina.  The "whatever it is she's doing" is especially accurate.  And I'm okay with them (awkwardly) working in reminders about the fact that she is mentally/ emotionally 20 years younger than she is physically, but .. she wasn't a teenager when she went in to the coma!  So I don't get all this crazed immature teen stuff she seems to be doing.  And I really do not ever need to see her a) try to be sexy again, or b) attempt to force sex on anyone.

In theory, I like the idea of Milo/ Epiphany.  I think it could be interesting to explore more of the "you want me to lose weight" feelings Epiphany might have, and even more so her comfort with her body, and I love the idea of a woman who is not the typical soap romance leading lady being involved in a relationship.  That said, I don't want their entire relationship to be about the physical differences between them.  If they're going to do it, I'd like to see them also have story lines that other relationships have, whether it's wacky hijinks or keeping secrets or whatever.  Epiphany has never bothered me and sometimes I've even liked her, and I've long thought that, while a bit dim, Milo could be an interesting character outside of Sonny's orbit.  However, I do not trust this writing staff to pull it off with anything other than cliches, and I'm not totally sure the actor playing Milo can do it, although I have to admit, he has gotten better.

I need, NEED, a scene of stoned Tracy, Patrick, and Sonny.

I don't think Liz knows about Nik & Britt yet.  I'm sure once she hears about it, she will hightail it to Windemere and have some sort of fit.  I generally like, or at least don't mind, Liz, but something about her with Nik just irritates me.  And I don't usually get too annoyed by characters other than Sonny.  Hell, I even like Spencer!  But with regard to the Nik situation, Liz infuriates and annoys me.

I don't think Liz will have any real reaction to Nik/Britt anytime soon. I thought her telling Pip that her and Nik are over pretty much set the stage for Liz hovering over Jason for the foreseeable future.

Yes because this is Liz she switched lanes rather quickly from giving Nik grief for not being hopeless devoted to her to all about Jason. If it follows Jase shows too much interest in Sam she will be jocking Nik again.

That being said even though I can't stand Liz, I don't like Britt (or Dr O, Ava, Kiki, Felix). Ava should have been killed a long, long time ago.

I find it just as creepy that Nina is the one demanding sex. It doesn't help that she's BSC and we don't know where Silas is in any of this. Does he want to sleep with her at all? I wonder if that's because they quickly strayed from Sam/Silas to Sam/Patty. Because normally on soaps, any type of drugging would be revealed at some point so Silas could tell Sam. And Sam's reaction would be more than, "Ok, well, bye."

I thought Nina put on her sweater backwards to cover herself up after Silas said no to her- it didn't really bother me. I just don't know how I can like her so much with Franco and find her scenes with Silas so boring.

Tracy high would have been nice. Why are they dressing Patrick up so crappy in flannel and ugly sweaters? JT is hot and they should dress him better.

At first, I was irritated that Silas was not just saying "No. I just learned you've been deceiving me," in response to Nina's overtures.  At the end, when he asked for Nina's physical therapist to come see him, I relaxed a little. I'll give him a pass on the way he got out of having sex  if he is truly trying to avoid tipping his hand to Nina. If he's going to investigate how long she's been lying to him and learns that it's been forever, and then kicks her out of his apartment and rips her a new one, in either order, then all is good. If he learns he's being lied to and then continues to purse his lips and mope, then I'm done with him. (I'm still a little irritated that he didn't notice that his brand of scotch tasted funny the night Nina drugged him. Water as a mixer doesn't disguise very much.)

Maybe MS is trying to make her conversations seem "natural" by doing something else while she talks. If so, her acting coach had better give her a refresher on the kind of props to use. Putting on rubber gloves, going through all your exercise moves,  or wearing a sweater backward tend to take audiences out of the scene, not draw them in.

And more cringe worthy shit. And like ME became GH's Rumplestiltskin because he spun shit into gold. Well, as best as he damn well could.

And it's like that's talent. He's been charging his batteries, ya'll. Leave Caleb alone now.
