I cracked up when they showed the covered pit and Sonny shouted, "Can anybody hear me?" There was something so classically cheesy that I enjoyed.

Not really.  My understanding of that conversation he had with Jason about it, was that he wanted to buy the land to build his development thingy and wanted Jason to go in on it with him.  Jason said no since it would still look like a mob front.  Sonny heard that Micheal/ELQ were also looking into the land for the same reason, so thought he ask Michael if he wanted to co-partner up rather than bid against each other for it.  Personally, I don't think it would have been that hard to beat Michael since Michael still hasn't developed that Elm STreet property into a clinic or whatever it was supposed to be,.

I'm confused, isn't partnering with ELQ to buy the land...partnering with ELQ?  It would create a business relationship between them.

And if Michael wants the land for something ELQ-related, how would it benefit him to let Sonny do whatever he wanted to do with it?

That illness Sam has is usually picked up by pregnant mothers who change kitty litter boxes, or so I've read. Has Sam been around any cats? I thought it might be something the lizard brought in. Has Sam been petting the lizard? Is Finn's pregnant girlfriend likely to pick up the disease from her baby daddy's pet lizard?

Or was the Chimera really the toxo-disease thing?

Sorry, I thought you meant partnering with ELQ forever whereas I think this was only one project that they both happened to want.

Sonny and Michael want that land for the same reason, to develop the brewery/distillery (whatever it is) and create shops, office space, etc. Sonny didn't want to get into a bidding war with Michael: That's why he suggested they go in on it together. It also legitimizes Sonny somehow. I love how one non-mob thing is supposed to completely sanitize him.

In a scene that was was cut to give MB more airtime, an escaped pet parrot flew down to Sam and perched on her knee while she was giving birth, saying "Atta Girl" over and over, coaching, cheering and consoling her. But unfortunately, its claws dug through her jeans into her skin, scratching and infecting her.

Do the writers have a big wheel of rare diagnoses that they spin when they want to infect a character with something? Toxoplasmosis today- we will infect Sam with this when last time it landed on "rare worm brain" for Tracy.  When did Sam ever clean up after a cat while she was pregnant, or was it from undercooked meat? Why am I thinking about this more than I should? Stupid writers.

"On the next General Hospital..."  It shows Carly running into Liz and Garvey, and her reaction is, "Where's Sonny??!!"  Not, "Let her go!" or "why are you hurting Liz, she doesn't have a beef with you?" or anything appropriate.  Grrrr.

I fast-forwarded through much of the show today.  I think the toxoplasmosis thing is a set-up for Hayden getting it, too, probably from those ribs everyone eats.  Then they can kill her and the baby off.  And, of course, then everyone who has eaten ribs lately is at risk, and it's another crisis for the hospital.

She mentioned needing a phlebotomy fairly recently. Now that it's been diagnosed, I don't think we need to constantly hear about it. She's more than her disease.

If this is how she got the infection, then it was too late to have passed it to her fetus, which was already being born at that point.

When Curtis and Jordan broke up due to Aunt Stella's rant and heart attack, they reinforced her below-the-belt manipulative tactics. browbeating, and bullying. She's just shameless. And today Jordan was just standing there, taking Stella's abuse again rather than walking away. I would refuse to speak to her about the subject, and I would walk away the minute she started her abuse. Jordan and Curtis must have decided they can't stand up to her emotional blackmail.

Sonny was wearing a vest.  So the bullet went through his button down shirt into the vest.  Can someone explain the bullet hole in his t-shirt?  If there's a bullet hole in his t-shirt, why isn't there a bullet in his chest?  

And how ridiculous is it that Joss and Oscar are wandering by?  The closed distillery, it's the new docks.  Hopefully they'll leave him there.

I didn't really see it as judgy-looking. More crestfallen. See, her eyes lit up when this pretty woman showed up who wasn't Jordan, and was close enough to Curtis to know his family members. Stella is the captain of Team Anyone But Jordan. Even though they were emphasizing "friends/brother and sister/partners in crime," they do have a somewhat flirty vibe, and she thought it might be a flame she could fan (because, again: Anyone But Jordan). Then when Hayden said she's pregnant, and mentioned a boyfriend, it shut that option down with a quickness. Back to the drawing board.  

I don't think pregnancy before marriage is something she disapproves of. Nor interracial relationships, although some people were expecting her to hate the idea of TJ and Molly, and she didn't care. I wasn't one of those people. She's hell-on-wheels on this Thomas/Jordan/Curtis/Shawn topic, but she generally seems pretty modern/progressive. Just going by the way they have her styled and dressed, I don't look at her and think "stuck in the '50s."

I would feel bad about Jordan except what did she think would happened when she dropped off the keys at Stella's room at the hospital. Jordan was only looking for an excuse to see Curtis but instead of just calling him to arrange for the keys to be picked up, she had to go to the hospital room of the woman that hates hers.

There was no "almost" about it - he did blow up the car she was in - she just didn't die.  Forget just the kidnappings and dead nannies and general terrorizing they grew up with, Michael was shot in the head, Dante was shot in the chest, Kristina was car bombed as was Morgan.  Dante and Kristina were injured by Sonny himself and Michael and Morgan were injured because Sonny pissed someone off.  Sonny leaving the business to protect his children is ridiculous - that ship sailed long ago.

Any chance Joss pulls an Elaine and stops off for juigy fruits and maybe a movie before she tells anyone Sonny is stuck in a hole?

The writing and sometimes the acting can be iffy on this show, but the set people do a great job with the small budget they have and the lighting crew is great.

I haven't been watching, is there a reason why Garvey didn't put a bullet in Sonny's skull? Did he not have a gun? I don't know why Garvey would leave him alive. I mean, of course I know the out-of-universe reason, but Garvey doesn't know he's in a soap opera where Sonny is the teflon lead.

Not only that, but how they embody all of Sonny's wonderful character traits. I love how he really never changes, even to his last line of the day -- not a cry for help, but an order: "Get me outta here!" Oh Sonny, oh Maurice.

I was on board with Kristina yelling at Julian until she pulled the "my father's soooo powerful and scary" card. Girl, you're well into your twenties, it's time to fight your own battles without threatening your daddy's wrath. And I need wardrobe to do something different with Kristina, because she seems permanently trapped in a flowing floral print blouse.

Sonny's summation of his children was gold. Dante: strong, determined, a good man (because he wasn't raised by Sonny). Michael: smart, big hearted (because he's not biologically related to Sonny). Morgan: charming, very much like Sonny (fucked up beyond repair). Kristina: stubborn, passionate (hotheaded like her father). Avery: cute, little (Sonny's got to live long enough to indoctrinate her to love him unconditionally). He really only sees his kids as extensions of him and his awesomeness, not as individuals, and it's sad that this is the highest standard for fatherhood on this show.

I'm glad they did give a semi-plausible explanation for Sam's condition, but then they upped the ante by giving her encephalitis and then putting her into a coma. I kind of hope they pile some more serious conditions onto her to really round out the ridiculousness of all this and to justify all of Alexis' big dramatic gasps.

I get it that Alexis is so worried about Sam, but she is so very incredulous about the whole thing.

Of course Carly has to save Elizabeth. It's not as if she couldn't have elbowed Garvey in his gut wound and gotten away by herself. Gah. I guess I should be grateful some random dude day player didn't wander by and save both women.

Oscar and Joss were kind of cute. But was he smiling because he had a bullet casing?
