Episode Discussion: TFGH

I think we were supposed to know part of Finn's freaking out was because he was due for  an injection, which later proved to be true. I can't help it-I got face touching. I knew Jane would do it, and she did-and it was a sweet moment. I like them, and since 90% of the rest of the characters bore me on a good day, I am taking what I can get when I can get it. Hated his comment about God not being in the operating room.

Although if they do some idiotic Supernatural crap, UGH. Please just no. Leave Caleb behind. I do think it's him simply self medicating, and he goes off on people because he's addicted to the pain killer. Although him being a frozen Cassadine could be fun. Just keep him away from Sam. KeMo is lovely, but she's such a low energy actress. ME  is  proving he's best with someone who actually makes him up his game and stay on his toes.

The best moment of  the show was the ILY from Tracy to Monica. Nothing else came close-face touching not withstanding.

Big miss on Ned not being right there. Really? Pffft. Dillon and Michael with Tracy were sweet as well. I'm shocked Michael got to leave his Sonny worshipping to go visit his lesser family members, though.

If it really is Jason or Sam who gets ELQ back for the Qs, I might scream so loud you all will hear me. That is so ridiculous and rage inducing.

Nina is insufferable, but I will say it was dumb of Franco to say he was sorry her diagnosis was confirmed. He should have just said "Even though I don't want to have kids I'm sorry this has hurt you" and that was it.

Wimpering wife Carly insufferable. Please give me also-insufferable-but-at-least-entertaining-loud-hypocrite Carly.

I thought it might have been Ava but couldn't tell.

It was Maxie.

I legit block out anything Carly/Sonny/Jason/Sam. One of my least favorite collective groups. It's always about the mob. It's always whining. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Even Carly during Sonny/Brenda's wedding? Watching Carly get more and more unhinged about Brenda's BIG SEKRIT was hilarious. Of course, it was even more frustrating when right after that when she started dancing with Edward like nothing happened, but at least she didn't get to dress down Brenda.

I'm legit asking: What was the point of having Jason go over to Sonny's and try to talk him out of going after Carlos? Jason was halfhearted about it (to put it mildly), and Sonny flat out said he wasn't going to change his mind. What exactly are we supposed to take away from that?

I figured out what Finn's problem is: He's a vampire/werewolf/zombie, and he's injecting himself with serum to keep himself from transforming.

LMAO! Today I legit said to myself that I bet he's a werewolf. It's totally new and fresh and not at all like when he was a vampire!

The best part of today's episode was the Qs.  I loved seeing Monica, Tracy, Dillon and Michael, and I loved hearing him call her Aunt Tracy.  It only took a few weeks for the writers to FINALLY allow Michael to see Tracy, but whatever.

I am very tired of the writers making Michael the Corinthos babysitter.  Have they NOT watched soaps because it's usually the young guy that goes out on the adventures and the older dad who stays home and watches and protects his own damn family.  I can't wrap my head around what the writers are trying for with this storyline because it's not like we haven't seen Sonny go after someone for revenge.  How about we change it up a little and have Michael go after Carlos and not sit at home taking care of his mother, his sisters, his cousin, and his brother?  He's 25, not 54.

I miss the old Jason/Sonny chemistry.  It ain't there with BM and Mo, which I guess is to be expected but let's stop trying to make him a mobster and just let the story go in the direction that feels natural for the actors/characters.  I see THIS version of Jakeson at ELQ or some kind of corporate job, not as a mobster.  Amazingly, I can see Michael in the mob more than I could see Jakeson.  Jakeson is too smiley and happy to be a mob enforcer.

I hate Carly and Sonny together, so I never enjoy anything with them, even if her OTT-ness is amusing.

I hope Michael says, "Screw it, I'm going after Carlos no matter what Sonny says." If Sonny is so concerned about his family, maybe he should stick around and take care of them himself. He's such a selfish asshole.

My aunt: What is going on with Anna and Paul on General Hospital?

me: She had to knock him out so she could go after Carlos. He was gonna stop her.

My aunt: And what's up with the doctor? Wasn't he killed off?!

me: (confused, because I thought she was talking about Andre because he was with Anna) what . . . oh! You mean Finn! Yeah, they brought back the same actor in a different role. It's not the same character.

I forgot that people that don't know backstage GH stuff are probably still thinking they're gonna reveal Finn as a back-from-the-dead Silas.

My boyfriend, whom started dating me when Roger Howarth returned to OLTL, still calls Michael Easton by "McBain ". He refuses to acknowledge any other character name. He has learned Sam (because he thinks KeMo is hot), Robin (because he thinks Kim Mc is one of the hottest), Carly (because he said she yells a lot), Sonny (he calls him a cheap rip off of Micheal Corlone and laughs at his scenes), Morgan (because he's terrible, he mocks him). He hated Silas and would groan. He actually likes Finn, but still calls him McBain, but Dr. McBain. He can do voices, one is an actual voice like the SoapNet promo guy, so he announces him. When he comes in the room while I'm watching GH, it's interesting. He gave a running commentary on yesterday's episode. It was interesting.

I'm almost as sick of hearing about Franco's mutant DNA as Nina is. If only there were some way he could insure he would never father a child. If only there were some medical procedure, some outpatient medical procedure, fully covered by insurance, that he could have done so that he would never have kids.

Honestly, I think they're just easing him back into being the old Jason. If this Jason were going to rebel against that, this would have been the perfect time, what with his wife newly shagged and breakfast on the way, but he feebly protested and then did what Carly asked anyway. I think he'll mildly protest working for Sonny again for a while, the show will promote it as if he's having a genuine internal struggle about it, then Sam will be endangered and he'll have to kill someone to save her, and after that he'll go back to the mob to protect the people he loves. Personally, I'd rather he went back to shoveling snow, but ... nah, I'm pretty sure they'll go with mob.

Sabrina broke up with you, Michael, and the kid IS NOT YOURS. Why has anyone not pointed this out to him yet? My advice would be MYOB and stay the hell away, not "stay here and watch over the family."

And, DIAF, Sonny, you malignant lizard. (And he really is becoming more lizard-like every day.)

LMAO! Today I legit said to myself that I bet he's a werewolf. It's totally new and fresh and not at all like when he was a vampire!

I'm still expecting to find out that Roxy the lizard produces some kind of drug that Dr. Michael Easton harvests regularly from her and injects.

Speaking of, dude couldn't stop at a Dunkin Donuts on his way back?   Very inconsiderate leaving your hungry woman to go stop a man from committing murder and NOT grab her a fucking croissant.   It's called manners.

Where did Sam get the black t-shirt from?  Wasn't she wearing white for the fight at Nik's?  Does Jason have a secret stash of women's clothes?

It's probably Jake's.  They look about the same size.

Speaking of.....KeMo looked so tiny standing next to Jarly today.  It was kind of adorable.  I loved the dialogue between Carly and Sam though.  It does make sense that Sam is more hesitant now about the mob stuff because she already lost him once to it.  But it was nice to hear her say it out loud.

As some might know, I am pretty pro second amendment, but if there is one person on this show that shouldn't have a gun, it is Sonny. New York is a may issue state, so is the damn governor just going to let Sonny have everything his little heart desire because he not!saved his annoying daughter? Did Sonny get to get a new gun, or did police give back the gun he murdered AJ with, for sentimental reasons? Hey Shelly, want me to get in line with your divisive political position you so love to broadcast on a show that I probably have been watching longer than you? Have Sonny whip out his gun in Monica's presence and have her freak the fuck out on his ass, going as far as to hold a press conference about how the man that was convicted of murdering her son with a gun now is not only walking free, but has a gun back in possession. Sorry, I pretty much the documentary Dear Zachary on repeat, and it might be fueling this rant.

I love this line/insult so much I'm going to blackmail it into letting me stay married to it, and still pretend we have a chance at a real relationship/marriage, even though we each sleep with daggers and letter openers on our nightstands.

My soul died at the end when Anna got on the plane.

Nina/Franco were horrifying.

Is Tracy going to be like nice now? I really hope not.

Roger Howarth is trying to morph into 90s Todd Manning. I hope this means he wears a flannel shirt and a knit hat as he murders Nina, Nik, and whatever. I'm okay with that. I also give no fucks about Nina being infertile. There's a bunch of unattended children in Port Charles that you can have, Nina. There's also a manbaby named Sonny and a manbaby named Nik. Have at it.

I do think that what I like about Billy Miller is that he plays Jason as being totally annoyed/disgusted by Sonny. It's not like Steve Burton's Jason, who was totally secretly in love with Sonny. It's almost like Billy's Jason is AJ secretly pretending to be Jason or AJ's son playing Jason because he is so annoyed with Sonny and Carly.

I found her to be the unreasonable one here (although understandably irrational -- if she were a character who wasn't over the top 24-7.)

But what Nina isn't getting is that she and Franco have two entirely separate reproductive systems. He can sympathize with her for not being able to conceive a child while not wanting to pass on his own DNA. (Theoretically, if they stayed together they could use a sperm donor).

Just caught up, and dost my eyes deceive me, or is that SUNLIGHT on General Hospital?! Did someone kidnap the show and send it to the coast of Bolivia?

Other than the inexplicable return of Nina's baby rabies (why couldn't she just be happy and horny about making Crimson hers?) and the completely boring reveal of Plywood's Claudette backstory (his shedded bark?), I'm enjoying the show. Haydelee and Nikolas have the same MacBeth qualities to them I was enjoying in Liz and Nik about this time last year. Sam and Jason are kind of cute though I wish Jason had slammed the door on Carly's face for insisting Jason talk to Sonny (NULOCH LIVES). I kind of like the awkward scheming Sonny and Anna dynamic. The Quartermaines are A+ everything. I think the Bi Katrina story is being handled well. I'm intrigued by whatever crazy ass experiment Dr. Michael Easton is running on himself.

Really, I'm only concerned that there's probably no way we will see Carlos without seeing Sabrina too. I'd like to be spared that if I can.

I do not but both characters make their bread and butter off of violence.  These two actors are on opposite ends of the soap acting continuum.  I try to imagine that FH is thinking 'how have tptb allowed MB to have thrived on GH for so long'?  On a positive note, these writers keep mentioning Robert a lot.

Do Sam and Jason need to be on every episode?

I think she said "You got what you wanted" like 9 times.  I'm pretty sure that's not how it was written in the script.  I actually thought it was good when she was raging at him that she gets it, that he has bad DNA then she said that sentence eleventy eleven times and I got annoyed again.  Then she dropped the bottle of champagne on the floor and walked away without even looking where she was walking.  I was surprised she didn't cut her feet on the broken glass.  That was weird.

I wish Jason had slammed the door on Carly's face for insisting

Me too, but I did find it hilarious that his attempt to talk Sonny down was so half hearted.  SBu's Jason would have been all in Sonny's face.  BM's was all, "you shouldn't go.  oh you're going anyway. ok.  Seacrest. OUT"

On the one hand, I kinda get what Anna is doing here. She wants Carlos caught this time, she doesn't want to kill him. And she's willing to face the things she's done. (And I really don't care that she's kidnapped Paul, because this version of him is a creepy weirdo.)

But. Trusting Sonny in any capacity - and especially to not fly off the handle and kill someone - is a really dumb move.

And she will end up in jail, probably, embarrassing Robin, who she just got back. (Although, who knows, Robin might just be thrilled her mom and Sonny are BFFs! Robin's affection for Sonny is - sadly - still a thing).

I loved the Alexis/Kristina scenes. I'm glad that they finally hashed out the miscommunication between them.

Kristina blathering about her confusion with her sexuality is (I must admit) timely but so overblown, and is just her latest excuse for failure. The girl is in college and is said to be very smart. Yet she's so immature that she's a loose cannon trying to have an affair with her professor. Kristina is not just entering her teens; she must be close to 21 now, if not older. Hasn't she changed majors and dropped out before? SFU, Kristina--finish college and get some real therapy if you are still confused about your sexuality. By finishing college and doing therapy you will make authentic personal decisions and choices.

And Alexis's abject floor-mopping of herself was painful to watch. Alexis, you are the PARENT and you have a right and some say a duty to set rules for the girl if she is living under your roof (or receiving funds to live elsewhere). How about helping Kristina develop a skeleton of internal values so she can stand on her own two feet and solve her own problems. By taking all the blame for Kristina's behavior, Alexis was not setting boundaries between herself and Kristina. Boundaries with a parent are the first necessity for inner growth, because the young person must then struggle with making individual authentic choices for herself.

I'm still waiting for them to reveal that either the baby really is Michael's or Sabrina had twins and one is Michael's. I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen.

Yeah, I think there has to be more, too, especially if Carlos isn't going to be more than a recurring character.

As far as Nina procreating, please, NO. Let her instead go after Julian for messing with Crimson.

Isn't this the first time Michael has called her "aunt" Tracy? And for that matter, until Tracy got sick, I can't remember Dillon calling Monica "aunt", either.

Agreed again-they were the best part of the show. I rewatched the Q scenes and the Finn/Tracy scenes. I can't help it-I ship it, for now. There was more intensity of feeling and caring and connection in their scenes yesterday, than in any of Jane's scenes with Tony-except for maybe last summer. It would be a shame to waste that chemistry.

In other news...butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Roger Howarth is gorgeous.

He should leave the show forever and peruse a modeling career.

I don't disagree with you. I think he, Nina, Ava, Paul(if they aren't going to put him back in Q territory, he has no purpose and he's not interesting), KRISTINA(she can be killed off in a gruesome, painful way) and several others can hit the door yesterday. Actually, the cast needs to be cut in half. I have a list.

Just making the comment that he looked good. And I don't normally care about , or pay attention to,  things like that.

I realize I'm probably delusional, but all the talk about how dangerous this Carlos mission is, and how Carly doesn't want him to go and won't be able to stand watching him get hurt again, and Michael looking after the family sort of got my hopes up that maybe they're going to kill Sonny. I know, I know, ridiculous. But it seemed awfully anvillicious.

There is something seriously wrong with me - I loved Nik/ letter opener and Hayden/ ice pick all going to bed together. Not like it was so romantic, I'm not that weird, but something about it was interesting and funny.

What's Anna's plan for Paul?  I assume she's going to call someone to let him go, unless she thinks one bottle of water will hold him until she returns?

And if she's giving him a bottle water, and keeping him handcuffed the entire time, she better be giving him some depends too.

What? You know you were thinking it too.

For anyone with medical/legal know how. If Finn is self medicating and experimenting on himself for a condition he has-which seems to be the case-how much legal trouble can he be in? Can he lose his medical license over it? Because technically he isn't "doing harm" if the treatment is working, and if he's only giving it to himself-can that be the basis for him losing the ability to practice medicine?

Link to comment

I have no medical/legal know how, but I have to imagine that practicing medicine while on some kind of intravenous drug - especially if the drug is not FDA approved - would be a big no no.

I get all twitchy when Mykill talks about his concern for Sabrina and her "bayayaybee". His midwestern Chicago accent is so annoying--and always causes a faint memory of Hillary Clinton's accent--but I digress. I thought even he knew that the bayayaybee is probably Carlos's. So I conclude that the constant annoying pricks of pain upon hearing Sabrina's name are Show's way of reminding us that "Yes Sabrina is coming back one day." It's a threat and a promise that I find irritating and a bit depressing.
