Jax, at least, seemed to feel badly for fucking Skye over,

And even that took a while. Not until he realized that he'd always be second best to Sonny did he get an inkling of how badly he treated Skye.

Second best? Try third best, after Jason (always and forever first), then Sonny.

For Carly, yes. For Brenda, no. Jason would be third for her, and even that might be generous.

Overall? Yeah, probably.

Jason being third for Brenda is definitely too generous. They're frenemies, IMO.

And I guess that leads to the UO (in some circles at least) that I'm glad Jason & Brenda/Brazen NEVER became a real couple!

For all their faults, neither Brenda and Jason would do that to Robin.

And off topic, but I’m frankly surprised I haven’t seen you post your thoughts about the All in the Fanily/The Jeffersons revival since you seemed so excited about watching it.😛😉

I was out of town the night it aired (and the day after) for family reasons, and I haven't given myself a good time to sit down and actually find it--I need to see if ABC has posted it yet, because I'd prefer that to trying to find a sub-par fan upload on YouTube. 😛

Just looked it up: It's re-airing again tonight! Yay. 🙂

Not unpopular with me. Okay a I liked Sean Kanan a bit more, but they were both great.  I think I remember Billy Warlock supporting Sean Kanan after SK's last stint as AJ was completely fucked up by Frank and Ron, since he was also dicked over by them.

I've been all over the map with Lucy. Take into account I have no record of her earlier years when probably all of the good stuff was going on. I did see her scenes for BJ's death. But in the more recent maybe past decade or so, I've gone from liking her, to feeling sorry for her, from loving her, to being annoyed by her, to being pissed off at her. She will never out hate Carly for me, but I really can't stand her slut shaming. It's so gross.

Lynn on the other hand, is a doll. I met her a couple of weeks ago, and she's fantastic.

They don't know how to write for her or any character past or present. Look what they did to Anna, who has never been my favorite but they really gutted her character.

It depends on the topic, I guess. There are definitely some where I tread more carefully, heh. But yes, I do see plenty of times where you guys are squeeing over something you like, too. 🙂

Here's a UO:

Despite everything that happened between them, I still largely prefer Frisco & Felicia to Mac & Felicia. I will never deny the stability that Mac brought to Felicia's life, but there's something about F&F that still tugs at me. (I bet this opinion is more popular outside of this forum--in fact, given how strong the community of 80's GH YouTube posters/uploaders is, I feel pretty confident in saying that.)

I'l do you one better: I absolutely loved Mac with Katherine Bell. I JY and MBE had a great amount of chem together and because she wasn't some murdering psychopath, it was one of the few times I liked the bad girl tamed by the good guy.

Anyway:

I'm genuinely baffled that so few Jax & Skye fans seem to exist. I've always liked them and wish they could be revisited for real at some point (by contrast, I've never been as interested in Jax & Alexis as most people seem to be...I mean, I wouldn't be OPPOSED to them, per se, I'm just not as upset that they never became a real couple...there, I said it! 😛 )

While I think it was a bit of a misstep of Wendy Riche to not pursue it, it is nice that at the very least they have kept the friendship between the two of them going after all of these years, instead of pretending they don't know each. There needs to be counterpoint to the toxicity of Jason/Sonny/Carly.

I wish Cameron had stayed older than Molly.  SORASing is fine, but it bugs the shit out of me when they do it out of order.

I like that the actor is at least good, because Elizabeth and Rebecca Herbst deserve that, but the inconsistent SORASing is even more problematic because Liz and Molly's father Ric were not only involved and married but he even tried to adopt an unborn Cam before he got together with Alexis.

I don't think so. Lucy meant to wear a white dress, but was delivered a red dress by mistake. Tracy certainly didn't mind snarking on it during the ceremony, though. The best part of the wedding is her sarcastic remarks ("I hope she chokes on it"--I think that was about the wedding ring--and it may very well have been a nod to Victor Jerome, who choked to death on a locket he had made for her the year before, where he declared his love for Lucy--Alan helped her cover up his death.).

The best part for me is how Lucy kept hitting Alan in the head with her big hat--SD was clearly trying not to laugh.

And all the talk about the Q's leads me to an eternal UO: I love Billy Warlock's AJ just as much as Sean Kanan's.

I couldn't remember- it's been so many years. I don't think the ring remark was about VIctor Jerome though, because from what I remember Lucy and Alan's part in his death was not revealed for a very long time afterward. In fact, wasn't part of the reason the Alan/Lucy affair began, was that Lucy was trying to seduce Alan, and up until that point, he had resisted. Lucy thought the anonymous gestures from Victor were from Alan, and when Victor choked, she called Alan, and the two of them trying to keep the secret is what led to them having the affair in the first place ? So I don't think anyone knew by the time of the wedding, that Lucy and Alan disposed of Victor's body. But again....long time ago, and all that-I really can't be sure.

I loved all the AJs the same. I doubt this is technically an unpopular opinion here, since I think most posters never watched his AJ-but I loved Gerald Hopkins as AJ just as much as Sean or Billy. I think in fact, I loved Gerald's just a wee bit more. He had that broken hearted, tragic,  sad sack  persona down to a T. I can't honestly imagine Sean or Billy's versions trying to commit suicide the way Gerald's did.

Speaking of actors playing the Qs though-unpopular opinion for sure-I think Edward should have stayed dead when David Lewis retired the first time. Nothing against John Ingle, but he was never Edward. If they needed to fill the male elder void before Alan was ready, they should have had John be another male Q cousin. Jed Allan, age issues aside, was a better fit as Edward than JI, but yeah...Edward should have stayed dead. JI was some pod person, NOT EQ.

My unpopular opinion is that some part of me still wants Jax and Brenda as endgame. Yes, she's become a bigger and bigger idiot over the years. Yes, he needs to stay away from women who will never fully give up on Sonny, because he'll always be the loser. No, at this point they don't really make sense together. But dammit, I LOVED them back in their 90's heydey and also if they lived happily ever after it will forever stick in Sonny's craw. Nostalgia and pettiness, that's what keeps a ship afloat!

In the Paisley edit of today's show, after Bobbie's unwarranted assault of Julian in his place of business, he slaps her back with the same ferocity. Alternatively, he escorts her out, shuts the joint down and proceeds to PCPD to file assault charges.

My UO: I don't want Billy Miller to leave.

His time at GH could have been put to such good use. Sadly, it was frittered away.  But I'm still sorry to see him go and, when his last show airs, I'll shake my head at all the missed opportunities.

Add me to the Billy Miller fan club. When they give him something to do he always brings a warmth and believability to his scenes. TIIC should be on their knees begging him to stay. Thinking about him compared to unwrapped mummy just makes me shake my head.

All these teen actors are so hard to watch. They have no chemistry, it’s all awkward dialogue, and it bores me to tears frequently. Get them all off my screen and replace them with 20-somethings.

A warmth that is sadly missing with most of the characters on the show. He can bring the (platonic) 'love in the afternoon " when they let him.

I like the Cameron actor but not Joss or that Dev guy at all. Joss constantly sounds like she has a cold and I don't feel any warmth with her. She and Kim do absolutely nothing for me in the Oscar storyline. One is over-the-top crazy and the other is just an odd combination of odd and boring. Dev is completely unneeded.

I would like to see more Cameron and Franco as the hash out their issues, which I know is quite the unpopular opinion.

I like this idea too. It would free up both Hayden and Anna who I still can't see with him, while also benefiting from a pairing that livens up Finn and doesn't make Alexis sound like a love-starved teenager.

Bonus -- it would stick ME back in KeMo's orbit... so they could try Scam/McBain for the 400th time

In real life, I would NEVER advocate this, but I'd rather the show do Alexis/Neil. Let Hayden contain Finn.

I definitely see more chemistry with those 2 and think they should have more scenes together but I think they seemed a little awkward when they tried to date last year and come off a lot better as friends. Honestly I think both actors have trouble with romantic pairings as their current characters anyway. The only one of Alexis’ pairings that I bought was with Ned the first time around but I think NLG is one of the better actors when it comes to selling friendships

Dr. Michael Easton certainly does. He's extremely awkward as Finn, and I really don't see much of a difference between this character and his Silas Clay (one of the worst and most boring characters ever in recent memory). The only time I've seen chemistry while he's been on GH is as McBain with Anna. He works much better as a cop. He's not sexy or romantic otherwise.

Alexis, I can't speak as much to her past romances as I wasn't around. But her main issue is just what's already been mentioned.

I hate to say this, but I was on Guza's side way back during the tug of war with Wendy Riche, who was REALLY pushing Jax/Chloe, while Guza was writing for Jax/Alexis. I think NLG had no problem whatsoever generating chemistry with Ingo Rademacher.

I too have an affinity for Skye/Jax, though that might be because I wasn't watching during the Brenda heyday.  Unlike every other woman in Jax's life, he was #1 to Skye, and it's one of his few relationships not tainted by a Sonny association.

And a Skye return with Lila Rae to shore up the Q's would certainly be better than sticking him with stupid Rebecca Budig (the character) or Nina.

That’s just dumb. I think too many people attach too much importance to relatively unimportant things.

Didn’t Rademacher speak out against taking advantage of the fans for his own gain while Burton and others were involved in that juice scheme? He cares about people.

I think Rademacher’s decent, whoever he chooses to support, and I’d rather see him on this show than 85% of the rest of the cast.

I have an unpopular opinion. I think Kristina is pretty, especially when she was in DoD because she kept smiling at Shiloh. Not a fan of the character, but don't think she looks like a sourpuss as often as others say.

While I wish that there were more hospital-related storylines, I don’t feel the need for TPTB to keep characters who happen to be doctors, especially when you hardly see them working (i.e. Kim and Finn).

I agree, and I will go one step further and say that I don't feel that all of the action of the show should be doctor/hospital centered, or even most of it.  I have been so oversaturated with the primetime medical soaps that I'm good with the hospital being a backdrop for legal, personal, relationship and family stuff that happens to the people in town.  Yes, have the doctors and nurses be an important part of the show, but as long as it's not the mob, I'm good with other areas being the major focus. I like the show for the characters I grew up watching, not for the hospital.

I still think Sam and  Drew (as Jason) owning and running a publishing company is one of the dumbest things FV's writers have penned for these characters. So, I don't care that Sam left - even if she never wears a skirt again. And Drew has Jason's memories, it's just as stupid for him to work in communications as it was for Sam.

Then they should just rename the show. Because the lives-love and work of DOCTORS AND NURSES was the premise of this once great soap. Then came supporting characters like the Quartermains. Then when Monty rehauled the show, we got spies! And one great ❤️🥰Robert!Fucking!Scorpio!🥰❤️ But the hospital and what went on was always the center and hub.

Even during the early days of Mooby.

But for a long time now, the hospital, doctors, nurses, etc. are just afterthoughts, if at all.😒😒😒

Speaking of things that don't have a place on the show -- Crimson. Jax using it for revenge on Ava and some Nikolas plot is the first time it's been used other than a stage for MS/Nin in years. Having a fashion mag made sense when Brenda was an international model and Lucy created Deception but now it's just a place for Maxie to work and Nina to look important.

It didn't make sense for Drew to buy Aurora but at least having a media company on the show opens up a number of places for possible storylines: the growth of social media, sponsoring a youtube channel; new media, things that can be non-mob, non-hospital related storylines. Crimson is just a dead end

I don't think Crimson is any more useless than the other places of business. At least we see Maxie and Nina in the offices. When do we ever see Michael at ELQ? We certainly haven't lately.

I think Crimson is the most useless in terms of storytelling potential. We never see Michael in the office because that's not an aspect of Michael they want to emphasize (much better to have him being hang dog at Kelly's or the Metro Court or in Sonny's kitchen) but they've had lots of stories involving ELQ before. For example, now that Michael bought DoD's house, what is ELQ going to do with it? They could use it as an adjunct office to help young people set up start-ups. They could have Molly and her university friends move in at  more affordable rent and use it like they used to use the brownstone. (The 20s crowd can use some new faces.) They could use it as a place for patients to recover to honour Oscar. Some of those involve using the set, others don't, but it all stems from ELQ owning the property.

There's nothing that I can think of that they can do with Crimson other than the Adventures of Nina and Sasha with Maxie tagging along.

They're not doing any of that stuff with ELQ, though. It isn't even a set where Michael spends much time.

Molly is the rare treat on this show. A smart girl that is completing her education who has clear goals for her future. She is also one of the few people in a strong, long-time committed relationship with her equally smart boyfriend.

Molly is the white wale of young female soap characters, especially legacies that were born to the show instead of showing up mid career or something.  And, love or hate her, she's the most consistent character on screen, through all the writing changes.  Unlike others she hasn't changed for no reason or become a caracature of her former self, but she's still young, so I'm sure they will recast her with a busty, doe eyed, dim wit soon enough.

I'll join you at the Molly table. Was a fan when she was younger, and a fan of her adult version. She has her priorities in line, and she calls things like they are: It's a "CULT!"

I've also always thought that HP was a good younger actress, and even with Frank's non-rehearsals, it didn't seem to affect her in the least.
