I cant believe Slade's son Grayson is in season 1 (at least the first episode).  Crazy to see him so healthy and Slade being a real dad...at least on the show

Thanks a lot for the heads up about the marathon because I didn't watch early seasons and quit because of Vicki. 

I can not get over the amount of guns Jenna had in the house so that the boys were able to rid  their friends of rabbits.  Spade was very taken with himself because the last time I saw him he was a purse holder for Gretchen.

This is so fun watching season 1 again. You can watch the scenes with a very different perspective since you know the outcome of their lives to current day.

Vicki's class reunion is coming up. I can't wait to see again her friends who are "happy" (not) to see her and her chasing Bob Tomatoe around the reunion (he couldn't get away from her fast enough).

I found an article that says he was diagnosed in 2006, so probably pretty close to when this first 2006 season started airing.

It was heartbreaking in a way seeing how healthy Grayson was (even though he was already having problems that we didn't see) and even how attentive Slade seemed to his kids at the time.

It is fascinating to see how Slade used to have an actual job, had plastic cards like people collected stamps, and was the boss in the relationship between him and Jo.  You could tell in that first episode that him and Jo were not going to go the distance (Isn't she apparently in a career and involved long term with someone now?).

Kimberly taking her daughter to get her make up done at 13 (i still recall when the girls ordered up all the room service in the hotel while the moms were down in the lounge having a cocktail). 

I often think Shannon would have fit in quite well in the first season, imho.

Holy crap.  Kimberly worrying that her husband would dissaprove of her dancing with a Puerto Rican guy instead of someone “classier”.  Then the asshole who retorted that PR guy was a step up from dwarves and guys in wheelchairs.  No wonder that ugly bitch bitch beat feet.  Damn, she looked like a skinny Vicki with a bigger nose and basketball tits.  And an ugly attitude to match.

Slade really was a loser then, too.  Trying to keep Jo from working, and ending up being supported by Gretchen.  Delicious karma. 

Jeana vexes me, but she has a really mellifluous way of speaking.  Out of this gaggle of hags, she comes across as the most intelligent.  

I was shocked to see that Brianna was smaller than Vicki, who was about medium sized in the early years.

Tamra telling Jeana she’s taking her listings and her show.  She didn’t get the listings, but she sure as hell took the show over.

Gretchen was a stunner.  So was cat crap era Laurie.  Man am I glad she got her wallet.  I’ll never not like Laurie.  And I still have a soft spot for Lynne Curtin.

I officially fell in love with Jo when she told producers something like "I'm so glad I left the show. The scene of me in a sexy maid's costume, dusting the house for Slade is still so embarrassing."

Jo apparently got a college degree, a good job and stays away from reminders of her time on RHOC. I'm happy for her. So there really was ONE intelligent OC "housewife."

Yeah, Jo was ok. But didn’t she go on some reality show with Slade after she left, or was it before?  Not that I blame her for trying out reality TV.  Nothing wrong with making a buck when you’re young.

i liked miles ‘O cleavage Quinn.  She was pretty, not a size 2, and had a career.  I guess her storyline was as hard to swallow as the Broo-Chet-ah was, and she figured she didn’t need the humiliation.

poor Lynne crying and saying she just wanted the ladies to like her.  Sure she’s flawed, but I liked her too.  

I thought it was funny when Jeana and Matt were trying to get asshole Shane into the major leagues via some obscure community college.  It was even funnier to see this dickhead eventually end up doing some sort of porn.  Ugh, him calling Tammy “Tits”.  Jeana may have made some pretty kids, but they’re pretty much assholes.

I never thought the Keoughs were all that attractive. I mean not ugly, but Jeanna's superior genetic material (or why ever Matt's parents wanted them to get married) didn't turn out to be all that powerful.

Shane and Colt were scary angry. I hope they've chilled out since the show.

Season 5 will forever be my favorite season of any HW franchise, EVER. A few highlights:

Tamra and Simon's blow up in the van was unbelievable, and probably one of the realest moments on the show. 

The economy meltdown affected the OC ladies the most, particularly exposing how they were living beyond their means.

Lynne's kids receiving the eviction notice...Raquel flipping off the camera to avoid being taped. That's when things got a little too real. 

I'll never forget broke Lynn and Frank going out to a fancy restaurant to discuss how broke they were and couldn't afford anything, including eating in that expensive restaurant! LMAO

Alexis and Jim were introduced. I never minded them, and they were generally harmless. IIRC, the ladies accused Alexis of treating the crew like shit. Other than that I don't understand why Tamra full on hated her.

I remember this and it is cracking me up.  I thought it was all for the show, but they did indeed divorce. 

It wasn't just the daughters all strung out on drugs, I believe Frank ended up in the gutter as well.

Jealousy. Alexis has a smoking hot body, tall, beautiful. Tamra was no longer "the hottest housewife in OC" (Tamra's words).

Wow - ok, Ryley, Tammy's little boy is now a teenager.  Lindsay's boyfriend looks like Meaghan's boyfriend from their first season - he of the Iron Cross kennels, Roman.  I'm sure it is not him, but it looks a lot like him.

Shane's girlfriend looks like Farrah Abraham from Teen Mom.

Oh, and Sophie Waring obviously got her lips done.  

I have been doing a rewatch (I highly recommend it) and it is weird to see these kids now!

That's one of the things I loved about this particular franchise.. the kids.  I remember there was an exclusive online short in season 3 featuring all the teens at a cook out.. and the only one that seemed nice and put together with their lives was Quinn's son.

The show was partially inspired by Desperate Housewives and I think Jo must have been cast as a counterpart to Eva Longoria because she never really fit the model of the "OC housewife".

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, the later seasons are crap. Instead of teenagers and their drama we have ladies in their 40s and 50s acting and trying to look like teenagers.

I think some of the best or worst moments of the early seasons involved the teens.

And that's normal for teens and early 20s to have the angst.. and the women were pretty drama free the first three seasons (even season 4 just had Naked Wasted... other than that, a lot of the drama came from the teens).  With Shannon having three teen daughters, Tamra's son is now 18 (and he will appear on the show going forward according to Tamra), and Kelly with her pre-teen daughter... we have a lot of potential for some kid scenes with the mom's acting quirky (Shannon freaking at how grown up Sophie looked with  make up and also giving her daughter driving lessons LOL)

Ok, right now they're showing the ep when the OC Angels are trying on bikinis in front of creepy old man.

Ashley and Lindsey had problems trying on the small bikinis in front of them. Especially Lindsey as they are friends of her dad. But, Christen, the Head OC Angel had no problem with it.  And I have a feeling why she was the "Head"  OC Angel.

Now the Angels have gotten pulled over and ticked in their Hummer because it didn't have plates. Christen says she did't put them on cause they don't match the Hummer.

Then when passing out drinks they get a ticket for not having a permit to pass out stuff.

Had Bravo been spin-off crazy back in the earlier season.. OC Angels would have been spun off.  Whenever I view Vanderpump Rules.. I always am reminded of the OC Angels arc.

I kind of liked that the kids/teens had bigger parts in the earlier seasons and wish the shows went back to that again.. tbh.

How about when the Angels were first introduced, and pervy Lou has photoshoot for them, and there are two Angels who don't like each other so they start fighting!  Lou pulls them apart and says something like, "this is a photoshoot not a GANGBANG!"  HAHAHA does Lou know what a gangbang is??

I miss stuff like that.  

 

I have been doing a rewatch on Hulu, so I just saw this the other day.  Tamra was always making this weird buck-tooth face, I cannot explain it but during her first season she is always making this face.  I guess trying to be funny I don't know.

Yes and she was making weird comments and singing a song like, "she talks like a duck QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK!"

Tamra is so awful and she was soooo into being on this show from the beginning.  I really wish they would fire her now - she is so boring, I think she feels like she does not need to bring the drama, so she sits back and gets a paycheck for doing nothing.  

I really wish more people were watching, these old seasons are comedy GOLD!

Bravo showing Season 3 today - Quinn... glad she was a one and done... her "Good Christian Woman" schtick was sooo annoying. Fun seeing Vicki and Tamra before the 9000 plastic surgeries they've had since the early days - even Jeanna looks different... and it hasn't even been that long since S3 (relatively speaking) vs now...

Tammy was beautiful.  I just watched the birthday boat party for her daughter.  Wow crazy to see young spiral on tv. They really should have stayed off the show after their father died. 

Tamra acted like a completely different person. Simon was scary looking.
