ElectricBoogaloo February 5, 2015 Share February 5, 2015 Rumors start to fly surrounding Rayna and Luke’s breakup but Rayna’s determined not to let them bring her down and finds a way to return to the public eye on her own terms. Juliette’s pregnancy is starting to make her stir crazy and she’s eager to get her career back on track, but at what cost? Scarlett plans a surprise for Deacon, but it doesn't pan out as she had hoped. Gunnar travels to Austin to mend fences with his estranged nephew and Teddy stops by Maddie and Daphne’s recording session at school where he unexpectedly runs into Jeff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi8yfJg2KPU Link to comment

Temperance February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 At points it felt like we were moving backward, but overall I was okay Maddie: Why does everything that happens between you and Deacon have to affect me? For once hitting the nail on the head. Maddie is right tonight, which I don't always think so. I liked Rayna and Daphne talking. I enjoyed Rayna working on her relationship with her girls. And I enjoyed "Real Life" their song. I love the song sung by Deacon, Beverly, and Scarlet. I liked Deacon at meetings. Juliet and Avery were great tonight. I knew as long as Micah was family, we wouldn't get rid of him so easily. Then again I respect Gunnar trying to do right by that kid. A i-phone isn't necessarily the best gift. You might want to child proof the internet and pay the bill for the plan so his grandparents, but we'll assume Gunnar has thought and taken care of these things. Teddy walked yourself into this mess, shame on you for bringing Maddie into it. Jeff you also can do better.. 2 Link to comment

dbell1 February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 I was really hoping that Micah and angry grandma were gone. Maybe now they are? Hooray for Juliette and Avery! Still bringing comedy gold to a sad show. From the chair to caramels. Jeff brings out the sleeze again. Will Teddy stand up to him and expose the party that almost killed Layla? Will Jeff be found dead in his office as a cliffhanger? The suspect line starts to the right. My money is on Layla or the Secretary. Beverly needs to never again darken my tv. Poor Deacon. Angry Scarlett was pretty awesome. I can see her dragging strangers off the street to be tested. Glad Rayna stopped fluffing pillows and left the house. Wonder if she'll sign the girls to her label before Jeff gets his talons in them? And finally, hooray for new music tonight. It's been too long. 1 Link to comment
Midru February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) This episode seemed totally dominated by stoic Deacon and evil Jeff. Jeff was such a cartoon, abusing that poor assistant. He practically cackled when he handed Teddy the pen. I would think/hope Teddy doesn't sign regardless. And Deacon is a cartoon the other way. Last episode he's beating guys up, now he's having seizures and given up for dead. And he never ever has a normal moment of weakness. Nobody is that selfless and well-adjusted! AnnaRose February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 I was really hoping that Micah and angry grandma were gone. Maybe now they are? Same here. I was disappointed they were back. The suspect line starts to the right. My money is on Layla or the Secretary. I wish Teddy would have just walked out on him, but it looks like he gives in to that scumbuag Jeff. I like your cliffhanger idea though! So, does this episode mean Scarlet was adopted, or was it just bad writing considering Beverly can't be a blood type O if she's Scarlett's (AB blood type) biological mother? I'm guessing just bad writing and failing to check even the most basic blood typing info. 7 Link to comment
Fisher King February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 The music was the best it's been in ages. Beverly has a nice harmony voice but she's still a psychotic, selfish piece of crap. She and Jeff need to hook up. Together they could rule hell. 9 Link to comment
SandyToes February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Angry Scarlett was pretty awesome. I was kinda hoping after she stormed out that she'd come back with a gun, shoot Beverly and Poof! Instant organ donor. That would have at least not been as overly obvious as where they are heading. I anticipate a season-ending cliffhanger with two people on operating tables, and at least one flat line, if only for the duration of the summer. Although the "Who shot Jeff?" would make a great cliffhanger, too! Would they dare TWO interesting storylines up in the air?! Very much looking forward to Juliette and Avery lullabies. I hope they get LOTS of screen time, and soon. 2 Link to comment

Please let the Micah story die - it is the kindest thing to do for the audience. I'd rather see Will or even Layla then invest more time with Sadie & Micah. Yeah to Daphne & Maddie singing. HP is a WAY good sport for filming the scene where she tries to get up from the floor. Scarlett bugs a whole lot less when she's with Deacon. The looks he gave her when Beverly showed up killed. Beverly does an excellent job at being unlikable. 5 Link to comment
bluebonnet February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 I found it hard to be upset with Beverly when it's bullshit that she'd even be a match. Plus, I think it's pretty valid that a family member being asked to donate expresses anger and fear about the whole thing. This isn't some minor surgery. It's huge, comes with many risks, recovery takes months if not longer. 5 Link to comment
knitorpurl February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Should not watch The Mentalist right before this show as I fully expected Scarlett to pull a gun as she came back into the bedroom and shoot her mother so that they could get her liver after all. If looks could kill that liver would have transplanted tonight. Oh, Teddy, you've been a bumbling fool in all your other relationships except as a father, until now. At least Rayna seems to be spending little time as an attentive mother right now, but the next distraction is always around the corner. The song with Rayna and the girls was great. Good music overall. Been a while since I turned up the volume for the music on this show. LOL, Sandytoes, we were rewriting the script together! Imagine how angsty Scarlett could be in prison serving time for murdering her mother to save her uncle's life. 4 Link to comment

thuganomics85 February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Kind of felt like there was a lot of filler in this episode. I really don't think anything big happened, until the very end. Which of course, was all thanks to Ted's hooker sex and Jeff being a scumbag. So, now it looks like old Teddy is going to cave in, and let Jeff sign Maddie to Edgehill. I'm sure Rayna just going to love that. Man, this Micah thing is still going on? Come on, show. I feel bad for Sam Palladio. Gunnar needs to start interacting with everyone else again. They didn't use Will tonight; I would have they just found some way to have them hang out or something. Rayna still confuses me. She has these moments where she really comes off naive, and I would think a veteran like her wouldn't. She really seemed stunned when Bucky was saying that staying cooped in could make the public think she something was going on with her over the breakout. As she met the public? She should know that, yes, that is what will happen. Instead, she was all like "But I'm not!!!!" Christ, Rayna. What is the point of Sadie, now? Her scenes don't make any sense at times. All the stuff with Deacon, Scarlett, and Beverly went like I expected. I actually was rooting for Scarlett to snap and attack Beverly, because that at least would have been unexpected. Avery and Juliette continue to be awesome. The songs were good though. 2 Link to comment
tennisgurl February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Angry Scarlet is the best kind of Scarlet. The look she gave Beverly near the end could have withered wallpaper. I get that asking Beverly to go through with the surgery is a big deal, and she has the right to say no, but Beverly is just so damn unlikable, its pretty hard to sympathize with her. Jeff is so evil, I expect the season finale with involve him tying Maddie to a railroad track, while twirling his long mustache and cackling evilly. Juliet and Avery are just so dang adorable. Never be apart again! Lots of good music tonight! 4 Link to comment
TVFAN February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Juliette and Avery were as adorable as always! I must confess that I largely watch the show just for them. Word of warning, writers and producers: if they do not get the happy, healthy baby girl they deserve, I will turn off Nashville for good! You may kill off anyone else you like to get Deacon a liver, but leave Javery and Baby Javery alone!!!!!!!! Teddy should fight fire with fire by threatening to have the police more fully investigate what took place the night of Jeff's party. Writers, could you at least open an 8th grade biology book??? Scarlett's mother cannot be a match. But I did love the trio! I like Rayna so much better when she's not within 50 feet of any man. Why have we gone so long without a Rayna/Juliette scene? Sadie, I am not sure why, but you just bug me. Maybe it's because you always seem to be sucking up to Rayna. 5 Link to comment

Because I watched that scene and it was a pretty powerful way to show that pregnancy can really really suck and how hard it is on a woman's body. I certainly wasn't slapping my knee and howling with laughter. I'm also childfree by choice but I thought that whole arc in tonight's episode did a fantastic job at showing Juliette's frustration at the limitations imposed upon her because of her pregnancy as well the fear of how much things might change after the baby is born. It was a nice combination of drama and comedy. So I admit, I absolutely laughed at it. I may not have ever been pregnant but I have been stuck somewhere, frustrated I couldn't get out of it myself yet also rejected any genuine attempts at help because I should be able to help myself...dammit! I laughed at it because it was so real. It was by far my favorite story of the night. But that's not hard, I think I'm pretty much tired of everything else. Tired of Teddy doing something "bad" to give Rayna something to fight. (Teddy suddenly think Maddie needs a year? Since when has he been a fan of her entering the music business?) Tired of Deacon and Rayna and their "great" but destructive love. Tired of evil Jeff. 6 Link to comment
Soup333 February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) Well, Beverly knocks Kylie out of the worst mother on the show position. At least briefly. My mouth fell open when it was revealed that she was lying. That woman is...something else entirely. Why didn't they just say Scarlett was A or B, then Beverly could have also been an O like Deacon and Scarlett's father could have been A/B? Why did they make us have to dig into that and find out it was impossible? Fact check y'all's stuff, writers. Micah. You know, at first I was like, "why are you still on my screen?" but I do feel bad for the kid. Holidays passed and his mother didn't even try to make contact with him? His life has been filled with nothing but turmoil for who knows how long. That said...I'm really kinda over it. Sorry. And Gunnar shouldn't have gotten him a smartphone. Kid will be looking at porn before supper. Rayna. Naw, girl. You don't get to play Poor Me just because you saw a picture of you and Deacon on the wall. If Juliette could (on your advice!) pull herself together to perform at LP Field after losing Avery, you could have performed too. Stop running from your shit. I can't wait until Rayna finds out about the record deal though. I swear, for Teddy to have been caught in three sex-related scandals/incidents, he really doesn't get out that much... I will feel bad for Maddie though, if Teddy signs the contract and then it's cancelled. That would just be another blow for her. Patience seems to come naturally for Avery, which is a good thing when dealing with a hormonal Juliette. I thought her frustration was both in character and realistic. Glad to not see Luke and Layna tonight. Edited to add: Sadie, what the hell? Why didn't she go to the show? I thought ex-husband was in the damn room holding a gun to her head the way she was acting. WHAT is this storyline? Edited February 12, 2015 by Soup333 3 Link to comment
madam magpie February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) I laughed at Juliette rolling around on the floor. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right. Why did Scarlett call her mother? WHY?? She's always been nothing but a full-up crazy bucket of meanie. Scarlett should have called Rayna. The hell with what Deacon said. I was especially thinking it at the end. I felt awful for Scarlett and don't think she should have to be dealing with this all on her own. The thing with Teddy and Jeff is dumb. It would never hold up in court. Rayna and Teddy have a custody agreement, and I don't care what Jeff says; I don't buy that one divorced parent can go around making legal decisions without the other's consent if they share custody. Plus, all Rayna has to do to void that contract is show a DNA test that says Deacon is Maddie's father. Teddy will be scratched from her birth certificate and his parental rights voided. Tennessee doesn't play with stuff like that. And what kind of lousy publicity for Edgehill when the Queen of Country goes around saying her kid was signed without her consent. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I care not at all about Micah. I also really want Gunner to stop calling the kid "buddy." Just no. Also, I'm tired of this ten-year-old kid acting like a toddler. I like that Rayna fell apart. It's totally believable given everything she's done and everything that's happened to her. Loved her interactions with the girls. Her explanation to Maddie about alcoholics and how you can't count on them is telling. It's completely true and speaks to what Rayna fears about Deacon. She still doesn't trust his sobriety. (Which I think is realistic and understandable. I'd like to see them actually work that out, but expect it will just be ignored when she finds out he's sick.) Finally we seem to be getting back to the Rayna who pays attention and gives a shit. Hooray! Now if she will own what she's done, we'll really be on the right track. Bad, bad move ignoring your kid, Deacon. Bad move. I liked all the music. For what it's worth, I'd like to go to Mexico with Deacon. Edited February 12, 2015 by madam magpie 11 Link to comment
Sutton February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 I liked this episode, the best parts for me were the scenes between Scarlett and Deacon her showing just how much she loves him. Like she said in season 1 "You've been like a father to me" and she means it will all her heart and will do anything to get him well. Scarlett is the best when she gets angry, pissed and will challange anyone when she thinks they need to do what's right. I have this funny feeling that Beverly will change her mind and be the donor for Deacon. I don't think she could live with herself if anything happened to him if she was the one that could have saved his life. Did Teddy forget that he is holding the cards on Jeff and that Layla still can report to the police that Jeff gave her the pills and it's still in play he is the mayor. Not such a smart mayor but then again it's Teddy remember he married Pork Blood Peggy. At the beginning I thought Rayna had finally put some of her sh_t behind her because time line was 3 weeks since she went to see Deacon asking for some time, but not preforming at the Blue Bird because she saw the picture on the wall with Deacon and her made me say enough already. Explaining to Maddie why Deacon is avoiding her was right on it's about time she is truthful no more lying. Deacon has to get his sh-t together he can't push Maddie away he needs to find a way to get back to normal visits and lessons. I have hope we have finally gotten our season 1 Rayna Jaymes back as the fisty, take control, don't take any crap character we liked in season 1. Hooray for me too...She's finally come out of that fog she's been in since second half of season 2. GaT February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 It's official, the only person with a worse wig than Scarlett is her mother. I don't know why they felt they actually had to bring the mother back on the show, most people probably hardly even remember her existence. The whole Jeff/Maddie/Teddy plot is just stupid, & Edgehill & their "student recording studio" inside the school is ridiculous. The only thing I can think of is that after Maddie is signed, she finds out about Deacon, & somehow her contract prevents her from donating her liver to him & she does something to expose Jeff. I really have no other idea of where they're going with all this. Micah is boring, stop inflicting him on us. 1 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo February 12, 2015 Author Share February 12, 2015 Damn it, I thought we were finally rid of Micah and his sucky grandparents! One thing I haaaaaate about his scenes (which is totally not his fault) is that Gunnar talks to him like he's a five year old. He uses that high pitched voice reserved for babies and puppies and tacks on "buddy" at the end of everything, "Hey, buddy! Come here, buddy!" While I understand that Micah is understandably upset that (1) Gunnar is not his father, (2) Gunnar and his grandparents knew but didn't tell him (3) his mother abandoned him (4) his dad was a criminal and died before he got to meet him, that doesn't mean he gets to act like a little shit. I couldn't believe that his grandparents let him get away with saying he didn't want to speak with Gunnar and stomping off from the table without taking his plate with him. But you know what fixes everything? Hanging out in an alley to listen to some band you've never heard of! I can't decide who was THE WORST this week between Jeff and Beverly. Maybe Jeff and Luke can hang out together having temper tantrums and breaking stuff. If not, Jeff better watch out for his assistant. She might go postal after she gets fed up with his abuse. The only good thing about his hissy fits was that he was too busy yelling at her to be creepy and hit on her. Scarlett summed up Beverly perfectly when she said she was a terrible person. I always like angry Scarlett. It takes a lot for her to get there and her anger is usually pretty justified. I do understand Beverly feeling like Scarlett tricked her into coming and I totally agree that it is ultimately Beverly's choice whether to donate or not, but that doesn't excuse all of her other behavior. She sucks so hard. I thought that maybe Jeff had put something in the contract with Maddie and Daphne's school that said Edgehill owned all the recordings made in the school studio, which would allow him to release an album of the students' music (with the ultimate goal of getting a single out of Maddie), but I guess he's going the more direct blackmail route. One thing I always liked about Rayna is that she always acted like a professional onstage. No matter what was going on in her personal life, whenever she stepped onto the stage, she put on a show (which is, you know, her job). Given that she has been a professional singer since she was 16, I expect nothing less. I know a lot of different kinds of performers and that is really what separates the pros from the amateurs and the wannabes. It sounds heartless, but 99% of the time, the show must go on regardless of injuries, illness, personal problems, etc. You can have a hissyfit before or after the show, but when you step onto the stage, you do your job. So I found it really unbelievable that Rayna would get so emotional about singing at the Bluebird. It seemed really out of character and unlike her. I know that it's a much more intimate venue than an arena, but still. It seemed more like crappy cliché writing than anything else. It would be one thing if she was just hiding from the press but she backed out of singing at the Bluebird because it reminds her too much of Deacon? She has probably been to every bar, venue, and restaurant in the state of Tennessee with Deacon so is she going to avoid all of them too? 4 Link to comment
madam magpie February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) Well, I think #1)No one in the audience was expecting Rayna and the people at the Bluebird are her friends, so she loses nothing by not showing up. And #2) the point of that was to show that Rayna is not all right. She's finally hitting the bottom and is unable to hide from her life anymore. It's a little soap opera silly that it was a picture on the wall that did it, but alas...this is a soap opera. Also, I have always gotten the impression that the Bluebird was very special to her and Deacon. I don't think every bar is like that. Even just as a spectator, the Bluebird is a pretty memorable venue. To play it regularly with this guy you're in love with and have that experience shape your early life and career...well, I can see it.Plus, it's not like she just disappeared on them; she asked Sadie to tell them something. So Pam Tillis has to do an extra song or two. Likely that was already planned anyway since Rayna joining in was at the last minute. What I loved most, though, was that her crash led to a great interaction with Maddie. I loved Rayna coming home on the verge of collapse and then the kid needling her without compassion at first. It was great for Maddie, too, because it was one of those moments where the child finally sees the parent as a human being instead of just mom. And when Maddie had that moment, she slid a little more into being an adult instead of a sullen teenager. I enjoyed everything about that whole plot point and thought it was one of the better "real" moments this show has done. Edited February 12, 2015 by madam magpie 13 Link to comment

And her right to indignation and rage over Beverly's lie about the results is unearned in my book. Beverly does suck hard, but she's consistent - she sucked when she showed up before. Was any of this helpful for Deacon? Get his stress levels up enough and he'll die of a heart attack before the cancer progresses. MisterS February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 I can live with the total lack of accurate medical knowledge backing up the cancer plot (although how hard can it be to do some basic research?) now that Nashville is watchable again. I've actually enjoyed the last two episodes instead of covering my eyes with my hands. I thought Beverley was consistently portrayed based on her depiction in season 2. Why would she do the decent or noble thing given her past behaviour? Also why would they make Deacon's recovery (as I assume he will eventually recover/find a donor) easy? He never has anything easy. But he does sad so well. Kinda liking Rayna again. I don't need her to be perfect - flawed is fine - as long as they give her something to do, which they now appear to be doing. I can wait for the big D/R reunion which I'm sure is imminent. I'm also glad they're showing Rayna exercising caution in relation to Deacon, since her fear of his alcoholism is supposed to be the thing that drove her to Luke. So there's some continuity at least? If she had run straight back to Deacon it wouldn't have seemed right. I know it's not how they showed their relationship in season 1 before the crazy car crash, but I can let that go. I also think it was fine for Rayna to say to Maddie that Deacon might behave a certain way because he's an alcoholic. At least it's something Maddie can hold onto to explain why he isn't keeping in touch. If they knew about the illness it would be different. In a nutshell it's good TV and the main cast are really compelling when the writing isn't completely awful. Missing seeing lots of Juliet though. Hope she won't be out for too long. 3 Link to comment

Don't illegal drug sales that nearly kill someone trump unusually emotional sex with a prostitute that began without even knowing she was a prostitute? And what's with the "government funds paid for sex" deal? Did Teddy pay her with a City check and sign it "Mayor?" He's not married, and no one's going to jail. So he might loose the next election. That's more important that his daughter's well-being? Teddy, however, has the goods to send Jeff to jail, not merely ruin his career. At worst this should be mutually assured destruction . He's not married, and no one's going to jail. Aside from the fact that Teddy probably signs all his cheques "Mister Theodore Thelonius Conrad, Badass Mayor of Awesometown," did Jeff say "government money," or "taxpayers' money"? Maybe I misheard, but I was thinking he meant in the sense that Teddy's salary is paid by the citizens of Nashville. Is Tennessee maybe one of the places where it's as illegal to pay for sex as it is to be paid for it? Some jurisdictions are cracking down on johns. And never let it be said that Hayden Panettiere doesn't have a sense of humour about herself. Edited February 12, 2015 by Sandman 5 Link to comment
brandyelf February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 As someone who has been tested to be a potential match for organ donation to a family member, I can tell you that in addition to the blood types being BS, the doctor would never have told Scarlett what her mother's results were. We were all told that we would receive the results individually, and if we were a match but decided against donating, the rest of the family would be told we were not a match. rubyred February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) Just when the show seemed to be righting its course, this dumb-ass Jeff/Teddy blackmail subplot rears its sleazy head. As others have mentioned, it makes no damn sense. Teddy clearly never learned anything from his years working with Lamar. Jeff's threat is such a dumb bluff. So Teddy doesn't sign and Jeff blows up the mayor. Why?What has he gained? He's lost his leverage, and it's not like Teddy hasn't weathered scandal before. Teddy on the other hand knows about Jeff's bacchanal and can get the police dept to back him up. So, so profoundly dumb, but it's like the show can't allow Teddy any wins. Why the Teddy hate, show? And this is going to sound random but WTF the Edgehill Student music program has a studio at Maddie's private school? What? Whut? When it was originally proposed I thought it was a good idea as a funnel for the show to introduce young new artists like in season 1. And that it would, you know, be based in public schools? Because if anyone doesn't need a leg up in the music industry it's Maddie Freaking Conrad Claybourne. I try to give Maddie a break because for me personally bratty teen entitlement gets under my skin, but this chick never seems to have any awareness of the gifts her life have given her. Plus now Rayna's going to be the Bitch Mom who won't let her record for Edgehill, thanks Teddy. Again, so dumb. I hope Rayna is able to shut this down right quick. Hopefully within a week's time, because that's all the time Jeff has to groom Maddie for his boss. Why can't Maddie want to earn it like Rayna did? Sure she came from Belle Mead but she got thrown out of her daddy's house when she started pursuing music, blah blah blah. Argh. ETA: So are they trying to imply that Pam Tillis runs the Bluebird? Does Pam Tillis run the Bluebird? Edited February 12, 2015 by rubyred 4 Link to comment
izabella February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) Maddie's petulance and sense of entitlement about becoming a star irritates me. Chill out and freaking finish high school, and then you can do whatever you want with or without Rayna, Deacon or Teddy/Edgehill. If you're such a huge talent, you can wait 3 years until you're 18 to set the world on fire. Your talent won't die or disappear in the meantime. Write a whole bunch of songs for your first dozen albums if you want, WHILE you are focused on learning just enough in high school to get by when you have to deal with recording contracts and legal rights to your music. Sandman February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) ...except Glenn's caramels, which he's holding in his hand and tries to tell her are loaded with salt and sugar. Juliette: "Touch my caramels and I'm gonna cut a bitch." THERE'S my girl! Now go let Avery massage your feet; he's probably great at it! Too true; at the same time, I get where Avery's coming from on this one. I can understand Juliette's love of them, but won't all the sugar and salt just make her retain more water and make her feel worse? He's being a good husband! Just thinking longer-term! Hee. Can't all the relationships be written and acted with this kind of depth and charm? Did Jeff rise to his ultimate level of incompetence? Or just exploit, berate or blackmail every single soul who ever crossed his path? He seems like a massive screw-up of the worst blame-shifting sort. Not that I think Mayor Teddy Self-Declared Awesomepants ought to be shielded from the consequences of his own WTFery. Edited February 13, 2015 by Sandman 2 Link to comment
tjcletzgo February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Okay, here's my opinion on Deacon's donor. I beleive the mean writers are going to kill Juliet's and Avery's newborn. I don't like it, I want these two to be happy, but I don't believe for one moment that they are going to be writing storylines for a newborn. Link to comment
basiltherat February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Blood types aside, wasn't Beverly an abusive mother, possibly also alcoholic and possibly also a drug addict? If so, her liver ain't good fer shizzle. Let's get a liver from Sadie's ex or even Micah, although it may make pretty Gunnar cry! 5 Link to comment
madam magpie February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 (edited) ETA: So are they trying to imply that Pam Tillis runs the Bluebird? Does Pam Tillis run the Bluebird? Pam Tillis doesn't run the Bluebird (unless something has dramatically changed since last I checked), but she was one of the original songwriters to be featured there in the early days and still plays there from time to time. They do songwriter showcases "in the round," and she was part of the first women's songwriter group, I believe. I've always kind of thought we were supposed to see Rayna/Deacon as part of the early Bluebird days, which is why that particular place would have such an effect on her. Rayna, Deacon, Pam Tillis, the Bluebird, etc. would have all come up together. I don't actually know who owns the Bluebird now, though...the original woman or someone else. It opened in the 1980s. Kat February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 So, does this episode mean Scarlet was adopted, or was it just bad writing considering Beverly can't be a blood type O if she's Scarlett's (AB blood type) biological mother? I'm guessing just bad writing and failing to check even the most basic blood typing info Ugh! This detail bugged me so damn much. I was especially annoyed last week when they not only made Scarlett have an AB blood type, they made her AB NEGATIVE, the rarest fucking blood type in the world! C'mon show! Get your shit together! But other than this dumb error, I really enjoyed this episode. And I for one am enjoying the Sadie storyline, if nothing else because it means that I get more Laura Benanti on my screen. But I'd more singing and less face punching please! 3 Link to comment

SadieT February 12, 2015 Share February 12, 2015 Edited to add: Sadie, what the hell? Why didn't she go to the show? I thought ex-husband was in the damn room holding a gun to her head the way she was acting. WHAT is this storyline? Yeah, why was she able to slap on some makeup and show up for Rayna's show the first night but couldn't make it the second time. I mean, I obviously she just wasn't feeling up to it and couldn't force herself to get out there and fake smile for her friend again, but it was kind of odd how they chose to show that. But other than this dumb error, I really enjoyed this episode. And I for one am enjoying the Sadie storyline, if nothing else because it means that I get more Laura Benanti on my screen. But I'd more singing and less face punching please! I only started watching this show for Laura Benanti so I'll take whatever Sadie drama they give us. I don't really see myself continuing watching if/when she wraps up her arc though because I find the show a little too soap-opera-y. Link to comment
NeenerNeener February 13, 2015 Share February 13, 2015 I'm still wondering why Jeff thinks teenage girls are going to go nuts for Maddie. Considering her lack of life experience I can't imagine her being able to pull off the kind of wild-child songs that Juliette used to sing when she started in the biz. Would Maddie really want to be the next Hannah Montana? What if she's a one-hit, Anna Kendrick-"Cups" wonder? 4 Link to comment
