I think Nicolle is very attractive, though I also liked her hair before. But it makes me absolutely bonkers when women wear sleeveless dresses in mid-winter unless they are in the tropics. Nicolle would be knockout in a smart suit. Why not save the super duper bare arms for summer?

I mean to comment on this before, when someone had posted the link to the taping schedule, and how to get to be in the studio audience.

They list what you should wear if you're in the audience.   You know what's listed, along whit don't wear solid  white or black?

NO SHIRTS WITHOUT SLEEVES.

apparently hosts can have arms, audience members can't.

I also wonder, when I see the audiences on The view and The Chew, if they have a staff member in charge of decorating the audience with colorful scarves.  Sometimes I see an audience shot where a lot of people have similar scarves draped around their necklines in the same way, and I wonder if they came in like that, or were "accessorized"  for TV.   Like maybe someone is in charge of hiding cleavage, or making the audience more colorful.

It is true than Ventura won his lawsuit.... but to be fair.... the lawsuit came after Chris Kyle died so he never had his day in court..... honestly, I believe the story Chris Kyle told..... but I never heard about the wheelchair.

The story I heard went like this.

They were holding a wake for a fallen Navy Seal and Jessie Ventura was in the bar. He said something along the lines of it was due for a Navy Seal to buy it since they have been so cocky. So Chris Kyle clocked him and knocked him down. He then left the scene because he was worried about the police.

I saw him tell the story on The Factor and it did ring true..... I thought the lawsuit after his death was pretty gross

In his book, Chris Kyle never named Jesse Ventura, he called him "Scruffy", or something like that.  As he gained celebrity, he bragged more and more, and the story about the wheelchair, was when he actually named Jesse Ventura.  I hate the idea that Chris Kyle's children will be paying the damages, but according to Jesse Ventura (a former SEAL), Kyle's lies have damaged his credibility with his former SEALS, and they now shun him.  I can't vouch for the truth of that, I think they're both extremist nuts.  Now that Ventura has been publically vindicated, maybe that's enough and he'll forego the damages.  Who knows.

ETA:  I believe that Ventura was part of the precursor to the SEALS.  I don't believe he would slam his own organization.  Also, if Kyle had gotten away with killing thirty or so Americans (as he claimed) why would he run from the police for punching someone?

It is sad that "American Sniper" is considered mostly true.   From what I hear* the movie would be just as effective were it not "based on fact."   There's no going back now.  Apparently Chris Kyle is a hero and nothing negative can be said--nor should it be believed.

*So far I don't want to see the movie.  I still haven't seen "Hurt Locker."

I saw it very reluctantly, and did not like it.  I don't think it can hold a candle to Hurt Locker.  It didn't help that I was sitting next to two eighteen year olds who cheered each time he killed someone.  Also, the movie makes no attempt to clear up inaccuracies that those who get their news from Fox News won't understand.  For instance, Kyle was enraged about 9/11, and seemed to believe he was fighting the killers in Iraq.  It kind of reinforced the ignorant believe that Iraq attacked us on September 11th.  Also, al-Zarqawi was the big baddie in the movie, yet he was Jordanian.  It didn't help that when he finally acknowledged he needed help, he told his therapist he had absolutely no regrets at having killed so many, he only wished he had killed more.  Finally, Chris Kyle died because he decided a soldier experiencing PTSD should be taken to a shooting range to straighten him out.  That soldier turned on Kyle and killed him.  That is completely glossed over in the movie.  There was only one moment that I really felt for him.  It was when his sights were on a little boy and it was unclear if the kid was dangerous or not.  It's the only time he really seemed to hesitate.  At some point, he decided he was in charge and let a group breaking into Iraqi homes.  It just turned my stomach.  They go in there screaming English (because why wouldn't they be speaking English in Iraq) - get the fuck on the floor, what the fuck or you doing in a war zone, etc., etc.  Knocking around an old man and terrorizing a child.   I didn't see the movie as anti-war .... at all.  In fact, the Americans were always in the right, and even innocent Iraqi civilians were always evil.  A huge step back in war films, in my opinion.

I hate Donald Trump, but she started that stupid fight and then was acting victimized.   She not only made fun of his hair, but made comments about him as a husband,  businessman and other personal attacks. I think he's a real jerk, but what did she expect when she calls someone out like that?

If I recall correctly, Rosie's beef with Trump was his slut-shaming of a Miss Universe contestant, and the moral high horse he climbed on.  Rosie pointed out that the contestant was quite young, and Trump was acting morally superior when he has an amoral history.  I took Rosie's side, and so did Barbara (in the beginning).

The conversation about between Padma and Rosie and Mario about Frozen was boring and it went on and on, but Whoopi didn't moderate them out of it--she just kept throwing that damned candy in her mouth like popcorn and mugging at the audience, making no attempt to put the brakes on that nonsense. At least we know how to keep Whoopi quiet: put food in front of her so she can keep feeding her piehole.

Re Chris Kyle. I saw the movie, very intense. Did not read the book. I was curious about Chris Kyle, so I did some research on him. Found out about the law suit. It was filed before Kyles death, the trial took place after his death. Kyle was questioned on tape re the incident and that was played at the trial. Seems Kyle story kept changing, other people who were at the bar at the time of the incident said it never happened. In any case, the jury found in Ventura favor. Kyle wrote in his book re the car jacking and the hurricane Katrina sniper job. It has be proven these two things never happened. I find it so sad Kyle felt the need to fabricate stories re himself. In any case, he was a solider, did 4 tours of duty, and performed his duties he was sent to do. Is he a hero? Some people will say yes and some people will say no. whatever your opinion about him, he served our country in an unnecessary war and deserves our thanks.

The stars must be aligned, because Whoopi said two things today that I liked.  First, she mocked the book telling women how to "own" a man.  Second, and this one was a shocker - she scolded anti-immunization parents who endanger other people's kids.  As a nurse, I have a problem with the anti-immunization crowd who either have no understanding of herd immunity or don't care.  I have cousins who refused to have their children immunized, and got away with it because they claimed it was against their religion.  Problem is, they have no religion, and the school didn't challenge it.  My cousins did not research immunizations, they simply allowed the anti-vaccination crowd to panic them.  Ironically, although their children are now teenagers and healthy athletes, in grade school they were always sick, and my cousins claimed it was because they lived in a "sick house".

I do support the belief that it is better to spread out immunizations.  The problem is, to make them affordable to everyone, it's much more efficient to group them.  This leaves only those with some financial comfort able to spread them out.

I've zero sympathy for Chris Kyle, not for the way he lived, not for the way he died. I thought we as a nation rejected the so-called orgasmic thrill of the kill when the reality of the My Lai Massacre became front page news way back in the dark ages of the Vietnam War. Chris Kyle was a racist, lying, violent, good-old-boy gun nut who by his own account relished the execution of human beings. Is the right really so hard up for heroes? Perfection, Nicolle? Really?

Is that true? I'm shocked!

I did spread out my Son's shots he's 4 and made sure I spread out the immu shots.

I have 2 older kids in their early 20'and did not spread out theirs. My 4 yr old has autism. I don't think it has any thing to do with the vaccines.

I agreed he is an attention seeking jerk, but he said nothing mean, and like it or not, he has a right to speak since he owns the pageant. Rosie stared a fues with him and with Kelly for no good reason.

I thought today's show was a hot mess.  Rosie, who I generally like, hears the word "frozen" come out of Padma's mouth (something about frozen food?) and starts singing.  Then Mario, Padma and Rosie all start talking all over each other as they sing and talk about the movie.  Whoopi rolls her eyes and the camera can't decide whether to focus on Padma speaking or Whoopi mugging.  As the three others continue to talk over each other, Whoopi gets up and leaves the table to walk off stage, then wheels around and introduces a viral video while the other three are still talking, so now we have the moderator talking over the three talking over each other.

At that point, I just deleted it from my DVR.

I didn't make it past the segment with Whoopi pontificating about vaccines (and then making some gross comment about thinking her last egg just dropped but it was  'something else??) Ugh. Even though I completely disagree with parents that refuse to vaccinate their children I can't stand the way Whoopi declares herself the final word and expert.

The she told the audience not to bother sending messages because she doesn't care - again.  When she was saying an vaccinated child better not give HER the measles I wondered how that would even be possible, since she supposedly was vaccinated.  Then Mario wondered if he was, etc.  If anyone on that show had bothered to do any research on the topic they would know that worried adults can get a booster from their doctor's office if they don't remember.   Thankfully RO stepped in to not only disagree with Padma's  (why does she always always annoy me???) dumbass idea to identify un-vaccinated children with bracelets but to explain why that would be a terrible idea.  Yikes.

And ... my crush on Nicolle's hair is over.

Oh mine too although now I have something else kind of in common with Nicolle - I wore my hair like that in the 80s, lol.

At least we know how to keep Whoopi quiet: put food in front of her so she can keep feeding her piehole.

Yes!  RO should bring a candy dish every day.

I loved how Whoopi considers herself some big NFL expert but it was RO who knew that Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman are two different players and that Sherman in fact is a Stanford grad, which Whoopi would know if she ever bothered to prepare for this show.

I think it's telling that this show employed Jenny McCarthy for an entire season and never once mentioned her huge role in leading the movement that promoted parents not vaccinating their children.  Now that the inevitable has happened as a result and it's become a topic at the table they STILL don't mention her name.

Seriously, they hired the woman at the center of the vaccination firestorm and never once broached the topic with her! What a waste of a chair Jenny was. (As an aside, I discovered today via Facebook that a dear friend and mentor from high school is an anti-vaxxer. I haven't felt this shell-shocked since I first learned about sex and that my parents were having it).

I don't remember it that way, but I will take your word for it. At the very least, Trump was condescending to the girl.

I cannot believe I am entering into this fray.  But here it is.  Rosie's issue was that he (with shady moral past), was "forgiving" Miss Whatever for her indiscretions.  Rosie was calling him out on his hypocrisy.  Since then, pretty much everyone in the free world recognizes the hypocrisy and game-playing of Trump.  Rosie called it out (probably not in the best way!) and the rest happened.  She could have just called it out in a less mocking of the hair etc, and had a real discussion about it.  But he still would have attacked, because that is what he does, and he constantly gets away with it; he is the Victor Newman of Manhattan.

Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell had a very public name calling battle after the talkshow host Rosie criticized Trump for his decision to give Tara Conner a second chance to keep her Miss USA crown. Miss USA created a media stir after going wild in New York and underage drinking.

Rosie O'Donnell criticized and mocked Donald Trump on the television program "The View", which is hosted by Barbara Walters. She questioned Donald Trump's moral authority after he forgave Miss USA for behaving badly. She said that Trump "Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair. Had kids both times, but he’s the moral compass for twenty year olds in America. Donald, sit and spin, my friend".

O'Donnell also did an imitation of Trump by pulling her hair to one side in the manner of a comb-over. She went on to call Donald Trump a "snake oil salesman" and said that he had been bankrupt.

Donald Trump responded vigorously to the criticisms of Rosie by appearing on several programs to share his opinion of the co-host of The View. Trump said that "Rosie is a bully. I hit her between the eyes, she's worried about being sued, and her response today was nothing. She's not a very smart person, if you look at her IQ I guarantee you it's not up there."

Trump threatened to sue Rosie by saying "I guarantee I'll have a lot of Rosie's money right out of her big fat pocket, I'll have a lot of Rosie's money coming into my pocket, That's my prediction." In an interview with People magazine Trump continued his attack on Rosie by saying "You can't make false statements. Rosie will rue the words she said. I'll most likely sue her for making those false statements.. and it'll be fun. Rosie's a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie."

The Donald also appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper and commented on the fact that Rosie does not like beauty pageants. He said "If you looked like Rosie you'd be critical of beauty pageants, believe me. Rosie is a very unattractive woman, both inside and out. And as hard as it is to believe, inside is probably uglier than outside, and that's really saying something." Then continued the attack further by saying "But you have to understand, I know Rosie. Rosie's a loser. Rosie's been pulling the wool over people's eyes for a long time. She is a stone cold loser. What she is is a bully. Rosie says a lot of negative things about a lot of people. Nobody.. they don't do anything about it. I did something about it."

The ladies continue to defend the football player who refuses to speak to the press (they discussed it again yesterday).  What about this are they missing?  He knows he's in the NFL and will be playing in the Super Bowl.  He is a famous performer even though his stage is in the form of a football field.  He's not a kid, he's nearly 30, and you don't get to behave like a brat anymore.  And he is contractually obligated.  So what if he "doesn't want" to?  Millions of us do things every day we don't want to do.  He's being paid his millions and this goes with the territory.  Too bad if he doesn't think it "benefits him".  The panel said he should just play well in the game and not have to talk to anyone about it.  I didn't hear any of the ladies say that Kevin Costner should just act well in the movie and not have to talk about it.  Can you imagine if Kevin Costner had sat there yesterday and responded to every question with "I'm just here so I don't get fined". (I know he funded this one himself but he's been out promoting movies he didn't fund himself for more than three decades).  I don't care what your reasons are, your adoring public would like to hear from you.  He has the adoring public, the "little people", the "nobodies" to him to thank for his outrageous salary.  I wouldn't fine him, rather at the first opportunity I'd fire his bratty ass.

Someone please remind me.  Did Jenny vaccinate her son or not?  I know he is autistic.

She did have him vaccinated.  She claimed his autism was caused by the vaccines.  And then she later claimed she cured his autism with diet or some such voodoo.  And then retracted that and said maybe he wasn't autistic to begin with.  Or he was.  Or not.  But she also said she'd rather he had measles since that's way better than autism in her stupid brain.

My own theory about Marshawn Lynch is that he is crazy like a fox; notice he grabs the headlines for NOT talking and no one can remember anything Wilson (Seahawk QB) even said or what silly questions he answered.  But everyone, even The Spew, is reporting on Marshawn. I live near Seattle so I've spent way too much time hearing about this already, but now the national media won't shut up about it.   By not talking he stands out; of course it only works because he is a phenomenal football player as well.

Nowadays you're not seeing Nicolle defend Palin so much and Joy would never defend Palin so I'm not sure how much sparring there'd be. I think Joy's pretty wise in the ways of politics as well as the entertainment business. She's a hard worker and a loyal friend. She's not going to throw Whoopi under the bus (remember when she said to Babs, "See, it's not so easy" when Babs flubbed reading the teleprompter when she was moderating? I took that as defending Whoopi somewhat.) And during the infamous split screen she was the one who was pleading to cut to commercial. She didn't want to see RO and Bitsy going at it that way. She doesn't seem to get as bothered with Whoopi's antics and inadequacies as RO does. Been there, done that, moved on, it's not worth it. In other words, "This is a hard business. We need to support each other, and appreciate those who have worked hard and help them out when needed."

Right.  One of the first things Nicolle did when she quit politics was write a novel about a mentally ill Vice President, lol.   I think Nicolle has been over Palin for years.

i enjoyed seeing Joy today and she got some good laughs but for me a little of Joy goes a long way.  I think it's because I thought she spend her last couple years on The View phoning it in and saving her good comments for her own show.    Besides, a 72 year old talk show host isn't going to draw a younger audience although Milage May Vary on that.

You've just made me think that this is one reason Joy was so good on the show. (Duh on me) She had sympathy for the other hosts, so it added to our feelings of sympathy.  We could see the others through Joy's sympathetic eyes. Thus we were happier with the show whatever happened.
