I know Chad grieving but he's not got any business going after EJ after all he did to EJ. He was in jail with Clyde because of Chad. Chad should be in jail himself for something he actually did. 

I felt bad for EJ after that he's been there for Chad through all this and after what Chad did to him. 

So Jan has no officer outside her door and the nursery has nobody also? Shawn sure went from team Jan, she deserves to be a mother and be near her child to she's armed and dangerous really fast. 

Shawn deserved the hit with the oar with how stupid he's been to her. Go defend and cater to Jan some more Shawn. 

Is Evan really Orpheus son? He seems really stupid.

I finally caught up on about 5 episodes worth yesterday and today, and I have to say - have they ever dragged out mourning for a death so long?  I don't think they even cared about Alice Horton this much.  Yeesh.  And it was made that much worse by the horrible fakeJennifer.

Then with all of that build up, and we didn't even see the funeral.  I'm assuming that's because the show is so cheap that it doesn't have the church set anymore?  Nor could it afford to have all those actors in the same place at the same time.

With the show's "one take policy" we really are seeing who the better actors are, and who clearly need more than one take.  Chad is screaming at EJ, and Rafe is scratching his neck, looking bored.  Galen, did you forget that you were on camera?

No, Leo did not come across as flamboyant when he fenced the jewelry using Clyde. He dressed as a normal middle aged man. Clyde is on parole and he would not do something terribly stupid. Once there is a sketch artist or better description of Leo, he should be caught.

Speaking of stupid, Evan can join Shawn D. As if Jan Spears is going to bring the kid to the prison. She will be escorted to her cell.

Belle, going on about being with EJ? I also noticed that his first drink was loud. Yeah, Chloe is right. You do have to worry about Sami. Nicole may be off the hook this round, unless she feels that Nikki deserves boring Rafe.

So Belle can fight Jan wearing heels, clonk her with a convenient oar and she vanishes in to the river. Most likely missing and because of whatever currents, presumed dead. Til she turns up again. Shawn D, you dodged an oar.

She's really grown on me. It helps that she's a good actress and can really feel the big scenes. Plus she's pretty and looks like Deidre more and more. The "coldness" as you put it works for me because she's a lawyer. I see it as her professional side.

Of course a lawyer would do a better job of protecting her husband from his rapist...just sayin'...

I realize Clyde is on probation but chaining him chair over the stolen bracelet still seems excessive.  The bracelet proves nothing really.  It could have purchased on market Facebook.  Clyde is smug too.  Very curious what he knows.

I'm finding these episodes boring. I don't know if it's the writing/performances/or just me not caring that Abby's dead, but there's something that's not connecting for me. I also don't like BM/Chad's performances. BM has been hit or miss for me for a while, but I'm just not feeling the devastation. This is obviously a personal pet peeve, but I just hate when people yell to much to show anguish. I also don't care about the Chad/EJ dynamic, so it's just hard to feel as invested as I should.

I guess I just thought Abby's death would impact people more than it is. It's odd that EJ seems to be one of the most affected but in a very selfish manner. I guess that's in character, but it also makes Abby's life feel hollow and her impact on canvas feel shallow. I kept trying to remember how much Belle/Abby interacted in life. I can very distinctly remember Belle/Chad's history, not so much Belle/Abby.

I don't mind Nancy/Clyde, but I feel I missed a lot. They went from meeting to Nancy defending Clyde of a possible murder connection. I wish we could have seen the two actually develop the relationship more. It feels empty.

I love Jan, but I'm at a point where I hope we get a long break. Ron is starting to reach Heather Webber (General Hospital) levels of being overused with Jan.

I liked the Chloe/Belle scenes. I was annoyed that Belle kept bringing up Chloe's "history." Chloe hasn't had an elicit sexual affair in more than a decade in both real life time and show time. Probably longer in show time considering I'm certain Parker will return SORASED. Belle also wasn't on the show during this point in time, nor were Chloe/Belle particularly close during this time. It seemed odd and even cruel, especially since EJ's sexual and criminal history is way more sordid than Chloe's history.

I have not been a CIN fan, but I did feel sad at the end of today's show, so many characters leaving, but what in the heck was Ciara wearing to go sailing?!  A tight purple sweater & a tight, short black skirt with strings hanging all off of it!  I did think the Christening was heart-felt & I enjoyed the scene with Ciara saying good-bye to Grandpa Victor, altho John Aniston looks so frail, it made me sad.  Sigh~~

So Abigail was killed on the night of June 10th, which was supposed to be the day or two before Jack's birthday, which I thought was June 14. And now it's July 5th and they buried her on the 4th? Who waits over 3 weeks to bury someone on a holiday?

Bo and Hope sailed off into the sunset on a real location marina right after metaphorically passing the supercouple torch to Steve and Kayla.  Ben and Ciara say good-bye on a dark, dingy, set dock after Marlena and Rafe wax poetic about them.  It's like the show keeps reaching for the parallels to cram their supercouple status down our throats while not realizing what a joke they really are.

I haven't watched in weeks but tuned in today. What in the ever loving fuck was Ciara wearing. Her shorts looked like a garter belt with unfastened buckles hanging down. Yeesh. 

Please tell me that's it for CIN and they really are going away for a long time. The body language between VK & RSW was kind of strange during the christening scene and the farewell on the docks. They seemed far more animated and emotional with the other actors/characters than they did with each other. 

It's such a joke how prisoners at Statesville can hang out entertaining guests & making phone calls unsupervised. 

Bell said something to Shawn that made me think they had sex the night before. Did they? And did she and EJ sleep together too? If so, how much you want to bet there'll be a Who's the Daddy storyline coming up?

I did prefer JC as Shawn but I can't picture him the father of a grown Claire(same with Kirsten Storms Belle).  Regardless as someone pointed out he was dumb about Jan too but at least back then he was young and stupid. 

Shawn should know better at this point and yet..

As much as I don't care for Ciara and will be glad to see her go I did find her goodbye to Victor rather sweet. Although it seemed to be more about the actors than the characters to me.

Contrast Bo and Hope's ending with Cin's ending and it shows you how soaps have fallen with mediocre writers like Ron at the helm.

Nice to see Victor again. JA was looking very frail. Does he seriously think that Princess Ciara would want to er, um, actually, um, work? Granted, I suppose Hope or Ciara's trust fund is funding this trip. Most folks would need a lotto win or work for four years to get a sabbatical.

I don't see Doc doing anything godmotherwise. Poor Rafe. Why wasn't Nicole there?

They were and sadly now they are the only supercouple who are no longer together ☹️  Hopefully, BS2 changes that

Back to this week.  Ron's love for Marlena knows no bounds.  Is she still taking care of Abby's kids while JnJ do what?  Ben and Marlena are sickening.  Where was Kayla since her niece was leaving town?  Sick of it

I agree, but I find Belle and Marlena to have very different types of coldness. I find Marlena to be cold yet inviting. It goes great with a therapist persona; however, it also makes the people Marlena is warm and inviting with feel more special, i.e. WN Roman, John, Carrie, Belle, Bo, Hope, Ben, etc.

I find Belle to be cold and distant. There also aren't any people I find her warm with. Belle also has a dismissive cruelty to her that I think is mostly absent with Marlena although not entirely.

Marlena/Ben really is the supercouple of Days. The two look at each other and speak to each other like they don't realize anyone else is around. I thought they had a touching goodbye.

I thought the Ciara/Victor goodbye was the most touching. JA/Victor seemed quite frail, but he still delivered well.

I struggle with the Rafe/Ciara relationship. I also am not entirely sold on the Ciara/Shawn dynamic, so I didn't find either touching.

Watching the goodbyes, Ben felt like the more important character of the two with more compelling history. I never thought the Bope legacy would end like this. I know Shawn is still on the show, but he's Shawn. Enough said.

I don't care for Belle/EJ. I care even less that it seems it all about Sami's next blow up since Sami seems to be the focal point everyone discusses.

I like the idea of Shawn D more than the reality of him tbh. However I completely agree with the rest of your post. I just don't see EJ having a long term interest in Belle or an Abby type because they will expect him to be good etc.  He needs a more morally grey type of woman in his life. 

They should've resurrected Phillip/Belle when he was here instead of making him the villain to Brady/Chloe yet again. Otherwise I would've gone for her and Chad as I thought they had chemistry a few years back when they almost slept together.

I would've stuck with EJ/Nicole because it would be a 1000x better than Rafe or Eric to me. If they wanted to put Nicole in a triangle EJ/Nicole/Eric would be the best option. It would be the stuff of nightmares for Sami her brother and her ex with the woman she loathes.

However soaps go with the least dramatic option.

No Abby was still alive Chad was brainwashed by Andre at the time to go after Belle. Anyways Abby suspected Chad wasn't himself and eventually broke into their hotel room and stopped them from having sex. I did find it odd that Abby acted like Belle was a stranger though since she was married to Shawn at the time. Come to think of it did Shawn ever find out about this?

That’s why I’ve always felt the best Endgame person for EJ would be Nicole. Yeah, Sami would be ok if EJ was a scoundrel, but I don’t want Sami to be Endgame with her rapist.

Marlena almost seemed to be pushing Sami towards EJ.  If I did not know better I might assume she was doing that to get EJ away from her other daughter.  
   Was Johnny making a statement with that suit ?  Maybe it’s just the only suit he owns.

I know I've admitted to liking MM's version of Abby but I'm beyond done with her post mortem deification so that's why I sort of loved Sami's sarcastic "God rest her soul" with a quick sign of the cross when EJ gasped in outrage at Sami's daring to mention EJ's cheating on her with Abs.  Yes, the woman died horribly but that doesn't know expunge all of her awful past actions.

I liked Ally's yellow dress and her "I'm so happy that Mom's marrying MY dad!" to Johnny felt very sibling-esque and much better to deal with then fighting over Chanel who seems like a nice enough person but hardly worth all of this drama.

So now that Abby, Ciara and Lani are gone--who will be the new Horton Princess?  Ally?

I don't consider Lani a Horton princess just because she married one but yeah it will probably be her or they will just not bother at this point.  Jarlena's family is the only one the show seems to care about.

That had to be one of the smallest Days weddings I’ve ever seen. I mean I know it’s Sami & Lucas (again) but that was pretty sad. Why is Johnny wearing his red devil suit? Did I miss something?! At least, choking Lucas was fun. I think Bryan Dattilo looked like he didn’t know Billy Flynn was going to go all method on him. LOL!!! Finally, Dan Feuerriegel really knows how to rock the beard doesn’t he? He was a real find. Days casting deserves an Emmy for that alone.

Arianna is actually a descendent of Roman and Marlena and not Jarlena.  Marlena shares more children and grandchildren with Roman than with John.

So Eric is fantasizing about Nicole and Rafe while marrying his sister.

Nicole is trying to gleefully tell Sami and EJ and Belle. She and EJ really connect in some weird way. Yeah, Nikki, EJ still has a thing for Sami. You also know that Eric won't really interfere in your short term marriage to Rafe.

Clyde has an airtight alibi. So there are fish in the Salem River? There used to be, but I thought that industry went belly up.

Good for Chad for choking Lucas. Just before the 'I now pronounce you' part and spilling the truth that yes, Lucas indeed did kidnap Sami and not EJ.

EJ, maybe cut back on the booze a little.

I loved Ally's "because Lucas kidnapped Sami" and neither Will or Marlena blinked at Ally's calling her parents by their first names.  Whose directing these scenes?

I did love Chad's cold-blooded refusal at letting Lucas get away with lying to Sami about the kidnapping or his potentially killing Abby in a blind drunken haze.  BF has been great these last couple of episodes--I like how he's playing at barely being able to keep his rage under control.
