So, with a little luck, I guess, Ben can off the deep end and commit a murder while Chad is in a coma?  I want the non-stop suspicion of Chad to come to an end already.  It's tiresome.

I still don't get where Ben

is DID - or did that get dropped as an idea

?

The whole killer story and Will's death was pulled out of their asses. That's just my opinion.

Because of course if the bastard had killer tendencies triggered over protecting loved invested he would have killed Chad a lot earlier after Chad openly dissed Failure and Jordan and when Chad threatened his job saying he'd fire his stupid ass.

And Ben is dumb as hell killing to keep her or some shit since he already knew her obsession with unavailable men and forbidden fruit and moneyed men. He could have hooked up with another girl and/blown Abby off & had his stupid pedo father finance a business and she'd be on him like stink on shit. He knew how she rolled with Austin and EJ. Then later saw first hand how she did him dirty with Chad. Killing wasn't necessary to keep her.

I forgot to add Ali Sweeney if I am going to be superficial looked phenomenal today. Her hair, makeup, body, and clothes were "on fleek". I hope she gets some meaty material with Kate.

Rafe is definitely on to Ben.

Another thing I need explained, why did Chucky Doll kill Serena & Paige? What did they do? Or has that been explained yet?

The night Serena was murdered, her and Chad were getting drunk together in a bar (the Pub?).  They were having fun but then Chad got physical with her.  She yelled at him, slapped him (bloodying his lip) and then stomped out.  He angrily followed after her.  He doesn't remember what happened after that and thinks that Clyde roofied his drink, because Clyde has been in the bar that night.  Ben killed Serena because he wants to frame Chad for murder to get him out of Abigail's life and away from the baby.  He's terrified that Chad is really the father of the baby.

As for Paige, she saw Chad chasing after Serena or saw their fight or something.  She was an important witness in the investigation.  When Chad found that out, he tracked her down and tried to get her to tell him what she saw (since he couldn't remember what happened).  It didn't go well.  So Ben murdered her to tighten the noose around Chad.

I don't even really remember Abby's reaction to Will's death. Did she even cry?

No, because KM is incapable of portraying someone crying.  She'll scrunch up her face and make boo hoo sounds, but that's as much as she can handle.

But I think it's because Ben's real goal is to crush Abifail's love for Chad. If he just murdered Chad, Abifail would stick him up on a pedestal and mourn him forever as her great lost love. If Ben just left Salem with Abifail, then he'd always have to wonder about whether Abifail is longing to be back in Salem with Chad. But if Chad is revealed to be a psychopathic killer, then Ben doesn't expect that Abifail would still love him.

Exactly!

The Backlot recapper and posters have been pretty funny about it - they feel Abifail's main concern is who will wait for the cable guy now...I mean, she's busy, she can't hang around the apartment waiting on a serviceperson! That's for the little people!

Other than the obvious ridiculousness of no one calling or texting Kate or Roman, how is it that Lucas also hasn't reached out to Adrienne, since Will is her son in law.  All strange.  He looks like he is going off the deep end, and should have someone with him, Adrienne being the logical choice. And isn't Roman on the police force?  Wouldn't he be in this story to begin with?  Justin is the DA going after Chad, and yet we haven't seen him around now that his son in law is murdered?

I still think it is odd that the person who discovered the body is left adrift with the victim's young child, no victim services people in sight.  What if the killer goes after them?  How about the shock she must be in?  Abbifail just leaves her too.

I think Kayla is wondering about the viciousness of the attack on Chad by Ben, and maybe she can help Rafe figure this out.  Now suddenly they are looking into ugly red necktie purchases and they find a bulk order(!) linked to Chad!  At least they noticed that there is no necktie at the Babby apt, which kind of makes it seem like Chad is not the killer.

Ben's story is incredibly weak, so he will likely hold Abbifail hostage or something when he sees it all falling apart.

Eh, Lucas is grieving and not exactly in a logical or focused state of mind, his reaching out to Adrienne at this particular juncture (especially given their breakup) doesn't bother me.

I saw on Twitter a writer saying that a line referencing Roman was cut for time.

The only weak link to me, was Kate Mansi/Abigail who in her scenes with Gabi and Ben brought nothing but blandness and dull surprise. She continues to be the human embodiment of a low sodium Saltine.

Hee!!! Perfect description. I bow to your metaphoric greatness.

But whose idea was it for 2 women and a toddler to meet at night in a park where felonies are committed on the regular with a strangler on the loose?

That was my first thought too. WHY? And why wouldn't the cops...looking at you Gabi's brother Rafe the cop...not give Gabi & Ari some protection or escort them to someplace safe after a murder committed in their own home!??

Also hated the idea of ice cream for Ari but I understand it was a way to make things seem "normal" if that's possible after such a horrendous discovery!

Everyone on this show is a legacy child lol... I can't see paige who has never been shown until she came to salem can be classified as a legacy anything. Yes I'm sad will died but that's all part of the show. Young people die everyday it's sad but again it's just part of the show. And I'm seriously going crazy with all the legacy child crap :-\

I understand what you are saying, but Will  is the only one that actually grew up on the show in real time...All of the others have done it off the show..We have yet to meet Andrew Donovan and I doubt we ever will....Stefanie should be back as well and deal with her parents...Stefanie was sacrificed for Melanie Jonas...

I agree apprentice. My issue really isn't will, I've seen will on my screen since the day I started watching, it's everyone screaming that everyone is a legacy child. Will yeah kinda but I think it takes a lot more to be a legacy then just having awesome loved parents, will to me the last year or so has brought nothing to the table, Ari is more pleasurable to watch for me. I just can't call him a legacy anymore not after what we viewers have been made subject to.

One throwaway tidbit from Lucas about how he's going to call his mom and probably stay with her tonight. They really are going to passport Kate's learning about Will, aren't they, just like Theresa with Paige? Thanks for nothing, show!

So Chad decided to break into Ben and Abifail's apartment, confront a multiple murderer whom he has already lost several physical altercations with, and...????? Brilliant plan, Chad. I'm so shocked things went exactly the way they did.

Love Lumi as always - during their scenes, I kept remembering when they conceived Will, Sami still just a teenager and Lucas only a bit older. And it's a fascinating dynamic right now, with Sami being the together one and Lucas being the one falling apart. I loved when she told him he didn't have to walk her back to the townhouse and he admitted that it was really for him because if he weren't with her he'd walk into a wall. I loved his mini-freakout over why she wasn't freaking out (and if she were freaking out, he'd probably be able to pull himself together more). I loved how sweet and kind they were with each other.

And I did like Sami/Rafe. There wasn't dialogue in the episode referencing this, but this is the second child of Sami's to die, and Rafe helped her through the first death. Sami has been here before, they have been here before, and I thought the actors kind of kept an undercurrent of that. At least, I couldn't help remembering their scenes back when Grace suddenly became ill and died. And I also think that's partly why Sami is so together right now - it's not that Will's death is easier for her, but because she's been through this before she can kind of go on auto-pilot until she can let her emotions in.

Legacy Child is a term given to children born to a character or characters that were on the show, and the fans are familiar with.  They SHOULD have lots of storyline potential because their history, their parents' history, etc., can be mined for SLs.  There was a time when writers on soaps knew how to do this.  Just like there was a time when the writers could bring on new characters, and work them into the canvas so the fans would be interested in watching them.  Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, and TIIC burn through characters that have potential, but it is never utilized.

The fact that Kate and Roman haven't made an appearance in regards to Will's death is just another epic fail on Ken Corday's and the writers part.

The scenes with Sami/Rafe and Sami/Lucas were really good.

These kinds of writer excuses really piss me off.  They could've easily take five seconds away from the non-emoting Abigali or from the too-brutal beat down of Chad by the crazed mannequin to reference Roman.

In a recent interview, RSW said something that alluded to Ben having another personality but it wasn't clear if he meant it in the soap-DID way.  He may have just been trying to make sense of Ben's actions or throwing out a red herring.  IMO, he came across as a jerk so it wouldn't surprise me if it were the latter.

This is going to sound odd, since on today's episode, we had a very bloodied, unconscious Chad, and an equally bloodied but unfortunately NOT unconscious Ben Ollie, with a distraught (and pretty damn wonderful Lucas), a wrecked Marlena and a scarily and heartbreakingly silent Sami saying goodbye to her son's body, but I appreciated how low key today's show was.  I know we're in for a lot more emotionally wrenching scenes, so today's being a sort of gap episode was appreciated.

I'm really glad Sami is there, and intrigued by how AS is playing her grief.  We're so used to seeing Sami on a screaming tear, that to see her this quiet, this broken, is really unsettling.  I was happy to hear her questioning how it was possible that Chad could have done this, and Lucas echoing her, so I don't think we're going to be subjected to Sami leading a lynch gang.  IMO, that's a much better idea than what I thought we'd see.  Rafe and Marlena, also, still keeping an open mind, and Rafe and Hope being suspicious of Chad from the get go, also good.

I HATE the last scenes with Aiden.  HATE them.  We've had no reason at all to think Aiden would consider killing Hope, and the suggestion we had that it might be a possibility were dismissed a long time ago.  So going there now... bullshit.  I don't buy it and I sure don't want to see it.  Frankly, if this is all being done because Bo is coming back, I'd rather we never saw him again.

Good show again today.  I thought there might have been some flashbacks when Sami and Lucas were remembering Will being young, but I suppose them standing over his body wasn't really the time or place.

I thought of this as well. However, with like ten different actors playing Will, which flashbacks could they show. I mean it's not like any of them even remotely resembled GW. In this case, I think the lack of flashbacks was wise. Although, if they showed Mopehead Will or CM Will in scenes with Lucas and Sami, I think I would have broken down yet again.

It is truly sad that at this stage, the only way I can watch the show is to forward through all scenes with KM. She is such an bad actor, she literally ruins every scene she is in. I really don't know what filtered lenses the showrunnersarewatching her scenes through, because she sucks. And I say this as someone who endured and came to love PM as Austin, KA as Hope, BD as Lucas, both incarnations of Stephanie, Chloe, and the list goes on and on of former and current Days actors who stunk things up when they first joined the show. Three years in and KM remains awful. I would love for Abby to be Ben's last victim, or at the very least for the role to be recast, but since I know neither is happening, I will ff through every scene with her.

Regarding comments about how good the actor who plays Ben was today, I said a while back that I saw potential for both him and Chad when they are not saddled with the black hole of suck that is Abby. I wonder where both characters/actors would be in terms of the show if they had been freed of the snowflakiest snowflake who ever snowflaked.

Aside from the above, Ben as the killer sucks because where is the surprise, let alone shock. Moreover, as has already been pointed out, this whole SK story is clearly going to serve as yet another prop for Little Miss Deveraux. I mean now that Kayla is getting her own story with Steve and Joey, her sole role on the show can no longer be pimp to Saint Abigail. A disposable character with no longer term implications for the show has been sacrificed. This does not make daring, let alone interesting television. Right now, the skills of the actors are saving things and the drain that is KM is more obvious.

A couple of other odd things I noticed.  Why hasn't anyone figured out that Abigail was the last to see Will in her apartment--where she left him.  Why would he have left before Cable Guy got there?  Why does Ben not need to see a doctor but Chad is in a coma?  The cops should have been interrogating Abigail and Ben thoroughly.

Lucas was just with Adrienne shortly before he learned Will was dead.  It's already been on the internet.  She is Will's mother-in-law, but he didn't contact her.  Justin was also in the town square while Will was being murdered and then Chad being beat up but he is no where to be found when they finally catch Chad.  This bugs me a lot like the crazy situation where no one knew Paige was dead including her Aunt Teresa.  Even if they show a text being sent or received, that would help.  The Roman and Kate thing is just not remotely believable.

Yeah, it is too bad that Chad went to see Ben, knowing he was the killer.  I thought he was smarter than that, I am going to guess that the logic is that he wanted to protect Abigail and he figured if he called the cops, they would just ignore his accusations.  But that really was a brutal fight scene, they played it very well.

I have to admit, I was glad that Sami and Lucas talked about how they had failed Will because they certainly did many times.  That kind of regret is real, I have seen it in real when a young person dies, the parents are full of regret.

I would like it if the show simply said, "So what?" There's precedent: Years ago when GH was celebrating some big anniversary, they didn't hesitate to include flashbacks of iconic moments that featured characters that had since been recast. (And no, the recasts didn't look much like the original actors.) I saw nothing but appreciation among fans for GH not shying away from showing those flashbacks. It was the anniversary. We all knew some of those roles had previously been played by different actors. If we can handle the concept of a recast, we can handle seeing flashbacks from before the recast.

I'm especially watching what they do with flashbacks for Will closely because we're at the 50th anniversary and it'll tell us which way DAYS is going to go for 50th anniversary flashbacks. The show is fortunate to have an awful lot of original players still around, but all the same, I don't want them to avoid some flashbacks just because certain roles now have different actors.

Newbie just dropping in to ask... Why haven't we seen any scenes with Steve and his sister, Adrienne? This has been bugging me.

We've all been asking that question.    Not sure why we've not yet gotten a scene with them - it's almost like they forget that Steve & Adrienne are siblings & expect us to as well.

The Lumi scenes were fantastic - I just love them together.    I'm also not upset that Lucas didn't call Adrienne.   I do wish we'd seen Roman & Kate finding out about Will.   I did also enjoy all scenes with Marlena, John & Sami - I didn't realize how much I missed Sami until she showed up.

I couldn't watch the fight scenes with Ken Doll & Chad - I just didn't want to watch Chad get beat up - I do hate that he just showed up there & didn't call Rafe to tell him his suspicions about Ben - I think Rafe would have actually believed him especially since I don't think that Rafe bought Ken Doll's story about what happened.   I do hope they hurry up & find out that Chad is innocent soon.

So are we to assume with the last scenes of Aiden that he's planning on killing Hope for the insurance money?    I hate what they are doing to him - I don't understand why they've made him so desperate.

When they announced there will be a serial killer story it would have been nice or refreshing if it was a Dexter - style one to X out all the pieces of trash cluttering up Salem.

That would have been amazing!

I saw on Twitter a writer saying that a line referencing Roman was cut for time.

Somehow Roman finding out about Will's murder seems more important than Trollop and Chucky Doll canoodling in bed. Priorities are clearly out of whack with this show.

Honestly I've been trying since the late '80's to forget those two are siblings. So it's one of the few things I'm thankful the show has blown off.

Lumi in the morgue was gut wrenching. In a good way. That last line about protecting him from the tigers? And Sami kissing him goodnight? I'm crying now just remembering. I can't wait for that fire to light up inside her. I think she's barley keeping it together and after the funeral she'll unleash it all.

Abbi/Ben: gross.

Rafe DEFINITELY suspects something is off about Ben. That last lingering stare at Ben at the end? Yeah, Rafe has a couple brain cells left.

Haiden: This is ridiculous

When is Freddi back? Thursday(tomorrow)? Those will be good scenes.

Not having Kate and Roman react is a mistake. Vets should get the chance to shine and I think that Lauren Koslow in particular will kill her scenes with Will Grief. She and Sami have hated each other but the one thing they do is rally the troops TOGETHER for Will. Always. This is going to be good.

I'm so tired of women walking around Salem...ALONE...AT NIGHT...with a SERIAL KILLER on the loose.

Yes. I hope so, too. I agree that yesterday should have been Lumi's time to shine.

I do fear that they dropped the ball with Kate since it's clear she already knows. We won't get the initial reaction stuff but hopefully she'll get her moment in the sun to show how she's handling it all.

You know...Stefano should be allowed to show a reaction, too. Will is his step grandson. They weren't close or anything but they did have bonding moments and stuff. Plus, Stefano may hate Sami (right now) but he's all about family and b/c of EJ, Will IS family.

I don't know how much more of this I can take... it was bad enough watching Kassie's Eve mourning Paige for weeks. I mean, she was incredible but it was hard to watch but now it's the same thing with Will's death but there's even more people to mourn him. I have never felt particularly attached to Will, I don't have decades with this show, but I know who he is and have known for a long time. He's connected to so many people... like I said, it was bad enough watching Eve mourn Paige but now we've got Sami, Lucas, Sonny, Marlena, John, Kayla, Victor, Maggie... and basically everyone else in town as well because they've all got a connection to him.

I DO think killing Will off was a mistake but at the same time, if this show has more than a few years left in it, he can be brought back. (Everyone can be brought back, really.) But, cripes... they've got to start putting the pieces together here and allowing Salem to realize Ben is the culprit and everyone who has lost out because of him get their pound of flesh out of him.

Because this is awful. I couldn't watch yesterday's show yet because Monday knocked me out. We really need something positive to happen and for the tables to turn on that psychotic Ken doll.

So it's not clear if Clyde is gone for good yet? I've been wanting his murder of EJ to come out so I won't be too happy if that's completely overlooked.

Got a huge kick out of Bo running out the door at with his "I'm going home!" Followed by a Howard Dean-esque scream as he presumably escaped. Shouldn't he have contacted Victor by now?

Cannot remember the last time I ff'd so little and looked so forward to seeing the next day's episode in forever.

My favorite version of Will was years ago, cute little brown haired boy was playing him, maybe 5 or 6. Kid was being constantly fed or taken out for ice cream each time he was onscreen.

Nice to see Kayla doctoring Chad instead of Dan being brought in.

Of all the people coming back without knowing who's staying or going I can only plead that Stephen Nichols be allowed to remain.

The Lucas/Kate scenes were phenomenal...I love the line about they are all that they have now...It has always been Lucas/Kate against the world. From Kate's introduction to the show via Deborah Adair to now... You can see the ease that Lauren and Bryan brought to the scenes.. That is what soaps are all about relationships and the connections between the characters..I wish that we had seen Kate's initial reaction to the news...Bryan needs to prepare his speech for his Emmy..He has been on a role with his performances... Once again, where the hell is Roman? Anne is horrible and Theresa is all about Brady..Yuck....Still waiting impatiently for my Carrie and Austin mention....

AS delivered as I knew she would. I cried right along with her. While I know that Marlena was only trying to help, she should have known that Sami would process things in her own way. Maybe that's what she was afraid of. I had no doubt about Sami's grief process from the time that she walked into the police station.

Again, where is Roman? Epic fail!

LK and BD were wonderful together today. I do feel cheated out of seeing Kate's initial reaction to Will's death though. BD should be this week's POW. It's about time that Lucas gets some well deserved screen time.

No wonder some people have ended up on death row who were innocent.  Honestly, the cult mind set of some of these people to mindlessly accept that Chad is the murderer is creepy and disturbing.

Kate (can't recall access' name right now) should have held on the recent face/wrinkle fillers - watching her try to emote (Marlena too) is almost, sadly, comical.  Enough ladies!  "Kate" looked good before this recent bit - seemed much more natural but now, it's just - unfortunate.

God - what a load of non-stop misery now for weeks - they need something lightweight and, soon.

I understand the innate impulse for control over extreme emotions because when the damn breaks - it is a flood that you feel you can't stop and when you have been alive long enough, you know that is what is coming - I did as Sami did after my mom died.  I had stuff to deal with and didn't "let go" for days - and when I did, it was a tsunami.  It seemed very real to me.

I thought Ann was a real bitch about Will.  No gray area there for me.

I also really didn't like the mean girl stuff between Nicole and Kate -

They just really really need something fun and light - even in the midst of the non-stop misery and bleakness

I agree. Kate could have been a bit more charitable to Theresa. She was Will's cousin, that should have been at the forefront of her mind. Even though we have never seen them interact onscreen as cousins. They could have had a throwaway line by Theresa saying how She and Will used to get their kids together on occasion...There is no fear in Salem..Theresa should be more sad because 2 people in her family have been murdered within weeks of each other..That would make me a pause a little about the inconveniences in my life..Theresa is still panting after Brady. It is really off-putting...I hope we get a Kate/Eve scene soon. There was alot of foreshadowing in their scenes a few weeks ago..Kate will now need Eve's support about losing her grandson...
