I still stand by the idea that these girls do not represent the teen mom population well enough.  Most teen mothers don't have the monetary resources that these girls wind up with.  Subsequent seasons have these girls buying homes, buying cars, carrying expensive bags, etc.  If I had been an audience member I might have asked them about the money situation and how they feel that separates them from other teen mothers.  I don't think theirs is a realistic portrayal of that kind of a teen mom's life.

 

Exactly.   My mom was a teen mom and this show is complete bullshit as far as portraying what it's like.    Money problems are a huge part of teen parenthood for the vast majority of teen moms.   We see a bunch of relationship drama and IMO that's nothing compared to living in poverty.  

 

Maci is full of shit with what she said about Farrah.   What's the message that she wants to send?   Go chase guys around, try and land a second babydaddy, have your kid get attached to the new guy you moved in when he has made it clear he's not interested in marriage?   Badmouth your kid's father right in front of him?   

Also, I'll probably get flamed for this, but oh well.   I find it hilarious that nobody is talking about the lack of ethics/morals/what message is being sent involved with Catelynn making a living by giving speeches for the adoption agency that handled her adoption.  When she clearly had zero knowledge of what the deal really was when she herself used them.   They were pissed and surprised when they weren't allowed to know Carly's last name, where she lived, etc.  Does that sound like a good adoption agency to use?   They allowed her to sign her kid away without knowing that she did not have the right to know anything.   She pretends that you get to choose the terms of the adoption and that simply isn't true.   The adoptive parents don't have to uphold any of that just because a bio parent wants it.   Sorry but I think that porn is at least between two consenting adults, and an agency that makes pregnant teenagers think adoption is something it's not is vile.

IDK, but I feel that they should have made it crystal clear that the adoptive parents do not have to tell them anything, that they might choose not to, etc.    She went on another reunion show and straight out said that you choose what you want in an adoption and that's not true.

I think Chelsea has incredibly low self esteem. Look at how she's allowed Adumb to treat her in the past. I would never, NEVER, get back together with someone who called me a "fat, stretch mark bitch" (nvm what he said about Aubree!). I did feel like getting her license and having a career would improve her self esteem, but maybe not enough if she's still resorting to Adumb for sex. Or maybe she's just lazy? People are talking about Maci's weight as well. I'm underweight and get sick of being told to eat something. It goes both ways.

From appearances and actions on the show Gary appears to me to be unhealthy.

He looks like he can hardly breathe. It looks painful for him to move and he's not even 30. He needs to be healthy for his daughter because I don't think Amber has changed much.

Its sad to me when I see young people such as Gary be so unhealthy when he can change it.

On a separate note I'm not trying to jump into the nutrition debate because I know that's off limits but wow, Maci looked so skinny to me!  I hope she's okay.

 

I think I was hoping for too much from this show. I felt like I wanted to hear all these tough questions and answers, explanations, something and yet there was pretty much nothing.  I will (obviously) watch a train wreck show now and again but I cannot stand "Girl Code" so maybe it was my own host/hostess problem. It's a tough show when I'm wishing Dr. Drew was there... haha.

It wasn't the first time, that was pretty obvious.

 

And his posture, or rather, how he's always sitting like he owns the place (and Catelynn), whether it's at a reunion special or just the day-to-day filming. At first I thought it might just be about his height (I'm assuming he's tall because Butch was a giant of a doofus), but his years of shit behavior towards animals and Catelynn have led me to read more into it. Word to the many who wish Catelynn would have been set free -- or set herself free -- in order to possibly experience the future and love she was investing in when she chose adoption. I fear she will only grow more complacent with time and I also worry that his unaddressed tendencies will grow much worse after their baby grows out of being a baby. Hopefully they will continue going to therapy to avoid this.

 

I'm going to go ahead and put my money on an MTV twist!! and guess that Brandon and Theresa will end up being their spiritual-child-rearing teachers or something, and possibly godparents...?

Honestly, I think Farrah's biggest sin was that she never tried to be a good little girl. MTV has the weird editing stance on Teen Mom that the moms (and dads to a great extent) can do horrible shit as long as they talk endlessly about how they just want to settle down and be the perfect suburban wife and mommy. It doesn't matter if it's even believable (Janelle!), as long as they tout the party line about how a good girl acts they're golden. Farrah has always been an unapologetic party girl who has no problem going after what she wants. She doesn't even pretend she wants to fit into the good mommy role. I mean, girl is a crazy nightmare, but she sets a worse example than Amber or Janelle? That's some next level BS right there.

I think Maci and Chelsea are always given props for being good mothers, etc., but I wouldn't expect any less.  Of all of the girls, they have a lot of family support, and come from families that are financially stable, and of course, they have Teen Mom money on top of that.  The other girls come from highly dysfunctional and mostly lower income backgrounds, and the financial and emotional resources weren't as available.  I was never on the whole "Yay for Chelsea that it took her 20 years to get a G.E.D., and now she has a esthetician's license" bandwagon.  Maci should have already gotten a degree by now.  I have a relative who was a mom at 16 and had a lot of family support--financially and emotionally.  She managed to graduate on time, went to an excellent private university, and then on to that university's law school.  I'm not saying Chelsea is law school material, but I'm saying that both she and Maci had great advantages, and could have made the most of those instead of spending time whining (Chelsea), and hanging out with friends (Chelsea and Maci.  Maci's and Chelsea's parents really tried make the teen mom path an easier one for their daughters, and had the time and resources to do that.  Aubree and Bentley are lucky kids.

 

I kinda felt bad that Lincoln was singled out as being the cutest new baby, but no one mention Nipples Jr. or Cheetos.

Maci sure talked a good talk about school and doing campus tours and signing up (and then dropping) a bunch of classes; Chelsea never even bothered to keep up appearances. I'm about 99.9% sure that if you just took the Houska family out of the picture, Chelsea would be up there with the most disastrous TMs.

 

What pisses me off the most when Chelsea's viewed as the most functional of the lot is that she is repeatedly allowing Aubree in life-threatening situations even though there is no legal reason why she even has to go through the motions. There is proof and more proof that Adumb is either criminally-negligent, dangerously negligent and absent or missing whenever Aubree is at "his" place. As much as some of the other girls have sucked rocks, the majority have acted on the instinct to get the kid away from someone who's dangerous or potentially deadly. Not Chelsea though, we only hear her talk about it her girly weekends, road trips and whenever she hasn't had Randilicious wrapped around her finger in a few days. She could have gone to court at any time in the past few years to iron out SAFE visitation for her daughter and rectify the bullshit that Adumb's makers don't have to inform her if he's been arrested on her weekends, or for visitation to cease after he's driven Aubree once, or risking her life on a dirt bike with no helmet, etc. She loves to moan to the camera, "OhMyGod, what if Aubree had been in the carrrrrrr!?!?! How many times will they arrest him and do nothinggggggg?!?!?! Aubree came home and said her dad was driving and she's got bleeding scrapes and bruisesssssss!!!!" but she does NOTHING. She refuses to protect her daughter in order to preserve her relationship with Adumb, and she will keep sending Aubree until the day when she doesn't come back because that asshole got behind the wheel with her again.

 

I mean, how many mothers out there with the funds, an abundance of proof, and a "father" with that criminal history would let it slide for 4 years?

Exactly why I think she's waiting for Adumb to take her back.  She tells everyone she would never, only because she knows that's what they want to hear - that no one agrees that Adumb is husband/boyfriend material.  But on Monday when she came clean and said that her and Adumb had sex recently, I knew she wasnt' over him and it's bullshit to say she has needs to satisfy.  Puhlease.

If Gary's hair and eyebrows are thinning and looks like it hurts to move, I wonder if he has thyroid problems?  That might also be causing the weight gain.  Hopefully he's getting his levels checked properly (sometimes thyroid hormone levels can be fine when the body isn't using them properly and thus is "low").

I missed this and thought I'd catch it On Demand. But, it's not available. So, I tried to watch it online and lasted for about 10 minutes. I couldn't handle any more of the idiot hosting it. Thanks to those who took one for the team and managed to make it through. My hat is off to you all!

 

I don't care why they chose to leave Farrah out and am ever so grateful to the powers that be for making that decision. A blow up doll with her ugly crying face pasted on it accompanied by a thought bubble with the words 'I'm lying' would have been the same thing as having her on the set.

I think Chelsea lost a lot of credibility when she admitted she still sleeps with Adam on occasion. You're so worried about your daughter's safety, yet you're hopping into bed with the man who's making it an issue. It just doesn't compute.

But in actuality, what proof is there to take to court to claim Adumb has had his child in his care and in his car and has put his child in dangerous situations? I assume when he gets arrested, the police report clearly notes if he is alone. If he had his child with him, that would have been noted and he would have been charged with child endangerment. I know Adumb has had a boatload of charges levied against him, but how many of those charges have to actually do with his child? His parents won't likely support Chelsea and tell her what dangers he has put his daughter in. In the episode where Chelsea finds out Adumb has been arrested, she contacts Randy and he informs her the reality of the situation, there is no proof about how Aubree was injured. What needs to be remembered as well is, the douchebag is innocent until proven guilty. The guy is barely going to jail for crap he did last year. A family court is not going to stop the visitations based on what Adumb does when he is not with his child. As stupid as that asshole is, there is technically nothing there for the courts to do as long as the child is being supervised by the Lind's and Aubree is not with Adam in a car. Adam is still considered innocent with a lot of the charges he has accrued and that is the card his lawyer will likely use to defend him. I think that is why Randy was against pursuing anything, at least right now, because it is pointless to point out what a danger Adam is when he hasn't been convicted.

 

If agree, what Chelsea has admitted to is downright disgusting. She is just part of this orgy and really, what does she expect to get out of this other than a venereal disease or worse. Ewwww. I just can't. She needs to go visit the local sex shop and buy herself a toy.

I'm not sure if I have a lot of respect for Chelsea.  I don't have children and am not planning on having any, but if I DID and the child's father called my child a mistake-- NO WAY in HELL would he be given as many chances (if any) as Chelsea has given Adam.

I don't know if you're right about her motivation, but at least it A motivation.  I honestly couldn't thing of a single reason why she would admit, on national TV no less, to continuing to have sex with him. 

 

I fear for Aubree's self esteem, if Chelsea's her role model.  I don't have a problem with sport sex, and I may not even have a problem if it's with someone as gross as Adam because tastes vary, but I do have a problem if it's with someone who has treated you so heinously in the past.  I can see Aubree saying, "Yeah, he called me a mistake for all the world to see, but he's my father and I forgive him.  But what's YOUR excuse?" 

 

 

As stupid as that asshole is, there is technically nothing there for the courts to do as long as the child is being supervised by the Lind's and Aubree is not with Adam in a car.

 

We don't know what goes on in real life, but if Adam is running around without Aubree on his weekends with her, could a case be made to limit visitation on that basis?  I suspect the grandparents would pitch a fit, but it's not their visitation.

I'm disappointed in Tyler.  I remember during their 16&P episode, I was so impressed with his decision to give that baby up for adoption.  For one, he looked like he was about 10 years old, which made everything he said that had a modicum of sense seem even more astounding.  But I looked at that family and thought, "He gets it." 

 

And then people on TWOP started talking about how he was the one pushing for it, and forcing Catelynn into the decision, but I still thought it was for the greater good so I was okay with it.  But it sure looks like that wasn't a one-off situation. 

 

I don't really fault him for it because I cannot imagine what it's like to be raised the way he was.  I don't think he's got great genes, and I know the nurture part was lacking, so it's probably kind of a miracle he's not a drug addict or career criminal. 

 

But he seems to be aware of the limitations he's been dealt, which is a good step.  I just wish he'd gone further instead of stringing Catelynn along and now having a baby with her.  That's not going to make either of them happy.

I haven't had much respect for Chelsea since the first time she admitted to sleeping with Adam, between his breaks with Taylor (was she pregnant at the time?). Yet just a few episodes ago she was making snide remarks about Taylor following Adam around like a puppy. Really, sweetie? Who looks like the idiot now? I'm starting to believe she really is hoping to get taken off the booty call merry-go-round and be made the wife. Otherwise, I don't understand the motivation, not even for a simple bit of fun. If rumors are to be believed, Chelsea hasn't just been only pining for Adam and has had a few others, so why is he the one she keeps going back to? Surely she can find someone else who hasn't treated her or Aubree as shitty for a quick lay. How she lacks so much self-esteem is scary to me, especially when you consider that she has had the a great father figure in Randy and a really tight-knit family backing her up. Or maybe she is so spoiled and entitled that she thinks she'll "change" Adam and have the "perfect" little family with him. Blech.
