altopower December 2 Share December 2 I quit watching when Meri was crying over Stonehenge. It seemed like a huge leap to go from the Kody cry fest in Parowan to her being so elated in England, all within 20 minutes. Everything in their lives drags out for months and years but hey, Meri can take herself off to England and be FREE in no time. Yeah, after 30 years, chicklet. I don't trust Kody about anything at all, especially where money is involved. In this case, Money = Coyote Pass division, which we all know will be unfair. Ho hum, don't really have to watch any of it to know it will be mind bendingly bad. I don't really care anymore and had been hanging on by a thread as it was. 9 3 Link to comment

smarty December 2 Share December 2 (edited) The fact that they each had to come up with $73,100 to pay off their fourth of Coyote Pass and had no problem doing so makes me think their financial situation is decent. Kody had $146,000 laying around to pay his and Robyn's share? They keep talking about getting an appraisal. I'd love to know how much that land has appreciated... Popular Post laurakaye December 2 Popular Post Share December 2 First of all, I am thrilled that Meri took that solo trip to England. That must have been so empowering. Good for her. Kody hates Janelle, thinks she is trying to screw him over Plague Pass, wants to screw her first, but hopes she'll still build on the property because he wants to reconcile, but if she does build, he and Robyn will move so fast Kody's weave will fly right off his head. That's just one small portion of how Kody's mind works. Delusional is far too nice a word to use on him. Something's not at all right with that man. Meri laughing at the meeting while Kody and Robyn just sat there looking dumb and confused was hilarious. I also noted that the table in the mansion's entryway was loaded with figurines to the point that there was no available space left, not to mention having to once again bear witness to that terrible, mind-jarring collection of "art" on every wall. It never ceases to amaze and disgust me. And yet - there's no money to pay off CP. Kody's curly-girl nonsense in front of his brothers? What was that?? Why? Who needed to see that? Again - why? Gosh, do we think Kody is a diva who needs to always be the center of attention? That was almost physically painful to watch. What an idiot. I actually liked this episode and then I figured out why - no footage of Christine and David planning a wedding that took place over a year ago. But also, I am loving the updated talking heads where the knives are coming out from the OG3. Both Meri and Janelle look lighter, younger, more refreshed than they have in ages. Clearly, dumping 180 pounds of hair gel and ego does that to a person. 19 7 11 2 Link to comment
Shelbie December 2 Share December 2 Loved Meri in England. She was so thrilled to see Stonehenge, a place she has been dreaming about for most of her life that I smiled for her and enjoyed her reaction. Meri is obviously enjoying her freedom to do what she wants without considering Kody and Robyn so of course Kody had to try to dampen the joy Meri felt. 14 1 2 Link to comment
RoxiP December 2 Share December 2 Maybe Kody is trying to reconcile with Janelle because she really was the brains behind the finances and he and Robyn are bleeding money - just a thought. From what I gather (not being a die-hard fan) Meri and Janelle have had a long history of distrust. Yes I think it was dumb of Meri to go to K/R but I can see where she would also have a hard time trusting Janelle also. 6 2 Link to comment
salvame December 2 Share December 2 This show has so jumped the shark. They should take a page from the Roloff play book, and canx. I could see a show without Robin and Kody as being entertaining, provided it was just about the OG3 and the children, going on with their lives, not involving K&R in any way - retribution smack talk or screen time. He's gotten what he asked for, so STFU and go live your life. Offscreen. 5 1 2 Link to comment

Popular Post laurakaye December 2 Popular Post Share December 2 So how was Kody able to get away for his "guy's weekend?" How on earth did Robyn manage without him? I didn't think that (A) Kody was allowed out of the house, and/or (B) that Kody ever wanted to leave the precious safe womb of Robyn's shy embrace or whatever. Gosh, I sure hope Robyn managed to keep Ariabelliobla from swinging from the chandeliers and was able to hand-peel her own grapes for her noon breakfast. How awful it must have been for her. And I love how guy's weekend involved Kody dragging his brothers to stare with wistfulness through the cul-de-sac gate. Goodness, between watching Kody scrunch his weave followed by the tour of sadness, this was a party for the books. Bet his brothers couldn't wait to go back home. And honestly, TLC - I would rather watch Christine and David once again exchange their chewing gum with one another than to have to EVER listen to one more couch segment from Kody explaining his hair to us. Literally no one cares about how he produces ramen noodle ringlets from the fried wisps of hair that are actively trying to escape his head. Thank you. 9 1 19 Link to comment
Madding crowd December 2 Share December 2 I didn’t think Meri was trying to throw Janelle under the bus as much as say “there are concerns “ but she is scared to be direct to Kody. I’m guessing Kody’s brothers agreed to the trip so Kody could show himself having fun not just his ex-wives. Of course standing in front of a gate in Las Vegas is just as good as visiting Stonehenge! lol. 4 15 Link to comment

I have to side-eye this. Meri has been galivanting off on trips and cruises for Lularags for years. She has never been constrained by loyalty to Kootie for those trips or her time spent at the Granny Inn. If one of her MLMs had a trip to Stonehenge, you can bet she'd have been all over that. 4 1 1 Link to comment
General Days December 2 Share December 2 (edited) In the Live Chat thread, @LotusFlower replied to one of my posts with: Quote How did Janelle screw Meri over the land? Seems to me that Kody was the only one that controlled everything re: Coyote Pass. Especially the deeds. Short Answer The total area on Coyote Pass (all four lots combined) is 14.48 acres. When there were five parents involved with the property, if their unwritten understanding was that they each owned an even share (no matter whose names were on the deeds), they would have each been entitled to 20%, or about 2.9 acres a piece. Once Christine made her trade, and the 14.48 acres only had to be divided between Meri, Janelle, Robyn, and Kody, one fourth (25%) would be 3.62 acres a piece. Legally, Janelle has always had her name on two Coyote Pass lots, and Meri was only ever on one three-way split with Kody and Janelle. Longer Answer Janelle's name is on: one 2.42 acre lot that Kody is also on (1/2 = 1.21 acres) one 4.48 acre lot that Meri and Kody are also on (1/3 = 1.49 acres) Altogether, Janelle has always had a documented legal claim to a total of 2.7 acres, without fighting with anyone, even when Christine was in the picture. Even when Christine was in the picture, Janelle was legally entitled to more land, than Meri was (and Christine; Robyn's a weird case, because she's on two lots with Kody, but she's specifically excluded from the Janelle/Kody lot and the Meri/Janelle/Kody lot). Janelle, who throughout the run of the show was really concerned with their money (not faulting her, just stating a fact we've seen in action about Janelle), had no problem with Christine signing over her share of Coyote Pass to Robyn and Kody, which greatly increased the amount of property that Kody and (especially Robyn) had a legal claim on, and Janelle did so without objection. On the show, Janelle even thought it was basically fair for Christine to give up her rights to any Coyote Pass land and for Kody to give up his rights to Christine's Flagstaff house, and call it even. I don't for a second believe Janelle was okay with that, unless she got private reassurances from Kody and Robyn that she (Janelle) too would benefit from Christine turning over the property — especially since Janelle has noted in the past that she and Meri helped the family buy Christine and Robyn's Flagstaff houses. I think Janelle thought they'd eventually manipulate Meri into accepting less than 1/5th or 1/4th of the property. It was only once things ended with Kody and Janelle, that Janelle seemed to start asserting that Meri had rights to a quarter of the whole thing. What seems very evident to me, esp. after last night’s episode, is that Kody made all the financial decisions and controlled all the money, and kept all of the wives in the dark, even Janelle. Plus, Kody and Janelle weren’t exactly on good terms around this time (and it’s only gotten worse), so it doesn’t make sense that they would gather to conspire against Meri. And now Kody says he’d screw Janelle if he could(!!), if not for his noble wife. Lastly, it just seems so out of character for her. Yes, apparently Janelle did the bookkeeping for the family (until when?), but she a) doesn’t sound very smart about money; and b) has made a lot of bad financial decisions. She keeps talking about wanting to leave an estate to leave for her kids, but right now she has next to nothing to her name, while her once-husband is living large in a $2 million home, with multiple fancy cars. The scene with Janelle and Maddie & Caleb showed Janelle basically dismissing Maddie when she tried to get her to think smart about their family’s money. Janelle, along with Meri and maybe Christine, seemed to just put blind trust into Kody re: managing their money, and it’s now biting them in the ass. I doubt her social security will be much, especially if she starts collecting earlier rather than later. SS was never intended to be someone’s sole source of retirement income but given the Brown family approach to finances, it’s doubtful that they have other retirement savings. If she is lucky, one of her kids will take her in. If she isn’t, she will end up in a publicly funded senior living facility/nursing home. 9 Link to comment

Who owns how much land, and whose name is on which lot/s is not speculation. I took the figures from official property records. I would link to them but (a) I think it's against board rules to do so here [it would be considered doxing], and (b) I shut the browser window where I got the info. I just have my notes. The rest of it is all certainly just my speculation. But here's how we got here: In my live thread post, I said "I think Janelle was right in on screwing Meri out of land, until Janelle realized she too might get screwed out of land." When you questioned that, I made my previous post in response. Quote What seems very evident to me, esp. after last night’s episode, is that Kody made all the financial decisions and controlled all the money, and kept all of the wives in the dark, even Janelle. I don't believe that bolded part. I don't believe it, because Janelle got her name on the deeds for two lots, in a way that gave her legal rights to more land than Meri, and to more land than either Meri or Christine, before Christine traded her way out of that mess. Janelle's name went on those lots before Covid, and before the wives started leaving Kody. I think Janelle was the only wife (or at least the only one of the OG3) who was paying any attention. I just think she was fine with the status quo, until she too was on the outs with Kody. This is just a graphic I made, using a screenshot of the lots from TLC, but here's how the entire property was parcelled out when the Browns purchased it. Christine is no longer on the biggest lot, but I took the lot size numbers from county records. 2 3 Link to comment

LotusFlower December 3 Share December 3 Janelle lived in a trailer with her teenage daughter. She gave money to Kody and Robyn for a down payment on their $1 million+ luxury home, while she lived in a number of nondescript apartments and homes and the aforementioned trailer. She has started a number of businesses which have fizzled out. She claimed on the show that she has “basically nothing,” and no estate to leave her children. It feels like folks think Janelle is smart about money because she sounds smart. But if you look at her financial decisions and see the naive way she talks about money, she’s not that smart! I guess my main point is that re: finances, Kody has controlled and scammed all the wives since forever, and continues to, minus Robyn. (Robyn came into the family with debt, and is now living in a $2 million house and living large, so she’s also a scammer). If anyone has been mischievous or underhanded about money, it’s Kody. Janelle’s warning to Meri about protecting herself, combined with her financial naivety and non-materialistic way of life tells me her intentions were good ones. Kody’s, on the other hand, were not. Again, he’s the asshole. 9 6 Link to comment
Meow Mix December 3 Share December 3 I had to laugh at Kody's Las Vegas nostalgia trip. I guess the neighbors wouldn't open the gate for them, so he had to stand outside reminiscing while his curls blew in the wind. It was his and Robyn's choice to move to Flagstaff, so he has only himself to blame for what came after. As for him not being invited to events, once again he has only himself to blame. He was invited to several events and played games about whether he would show up and created all sorts of drama. Then when he did show up, he was late and he would sit in the corner and pout that everyone wasn't coming to pay homage to him and his one shy pretty wife (barf). I'm sure at some point some of the kids have gotten tired of his antics and either don't bother inviting him or invite him once and ignore all his histrionics. I don't believe that anyone has invited him and not Robyn. The most I think happened was that he whined that Robyn wouldn't be comfortable at some event (or it wouldn't be safe) so they said she was welcome to stay home. I'm glad Meri got to see Stonehenge. I travel solo and it is really great. I know several women my age who have discovered the joys of solo travel, so I didn't see Meri's situation as unusual. Also, despite what Kody said, guys are perfectly capable of remembering stuff that they may not be interested in themselves because those things are interesting to someone important to them. Kody is just selfish and got away with it for a lot of years. I also loved that Meri was at least finally direct with him about building on that land. She didn't waffle around like Janelle, she just said she was done with Flagstaff and had no interest in building on the land. Good for her. Apparently bad dancing is genetic. I'm not sure what Maddie was doing at Savanah's party and I don't think Savanah was either. At least she was there, which was nice. It looked like everyone had a nice time. 20 Link to comment

We all know Meri and Christine were his two least favorite wives at the time. Oh boy, I finally remembered something peripherally significant from this goofy show. They needed to re-draw the property lines because initially the four wives were each going to build on one of four parcels. (There was a big dustup about Meri being too shaded if her designated section was the woodiest section.) And then suddenly Kody decided he wanted his own chunk of land, separate and distinct from everyone else. He picked the land that has the horrible sewage water runoff "lake" and blathered something about how his lot would be the fun family gathering area, with the swimming and so forth. I can't remember whether Kody said anything about building his own house at CP, but I do recall he was once whining about always having to stay at this wife's house or that wife's house and sometimes he wished he could have the privacy of his own place. 11 1 Link to comment
candall December 3 Share December 3 I think Meri needs to send Janelle a muffin basket. Until Janelle showed up and put a bug in her ear, Meri appeared to be planning to just go along trusting ol' Kodes to be fair and ethical and give everyone her due. But just look at the names on the deeds, Meri. You barely squeaked onto the ownership roster! Meri's right that no one's taking care of Meri except Meri, but I think she's mainly aware of that necessity because of Janelle. 18 2 Link to comment

So at the end of the day, Meri and Janelle are ultimately each due 1/4 of the total land value of that shitass piece of dirt. It should make zero difference what each sub plot is valued at IMO. A land appraiser should appraise the entire lot and divide that value by 4 and pay that each to Meri and Janelle. Period end of story. What else am I missing here?!? They are NOT one big plot of land currently - they are 4 separate plots titled unequally. General Days posted that awesome picture above that shows how the 4 plots are legally deeded. Kody wanted to redivide the 4 plots into 5 but couldn't do it until they paid the whole thing off, which they did in June 2023. As of now they haven't changed anything in the deeds/lot sizes other than removing Christine when she left. 1 8 Link to comment

They paid cash for 2 of them and had a payment due to the owner in 5 years on the other 2, which is where the show is at now, June 2023 is when the payment was due. When Kody and Robyn bought the 2 million dollar house this year, and sold their house, the Coyote Pass property had been paid off and still showed the same division as it did in 2023. They couldn’t do anything with any of the lots (and still haven’t) until the whole thing was paid off. Basically the 2 they paid cash for was the collateral for the other 2 lots. RoxiP December 3 Share December 3 I think the thought of the women demanding an appraisal scares Kody - reality is some land is more valuable than others, depending upon the resources of it. I would suspect Kody and Robyn's land might mysteriously turn out to appraise higher than some of the other plots. I agree - the four plots should be sold and the payout split four ways. But do we think Kody and Robyn are going to do that? I loved the fact that Maddie put herself out there for her sister, no matter how bad she looked. It was such a "sister" thing to do. 14 Link to comment
LotusFlower December 3 Share December 3 Is the current season two years behind? Because Janelle and Meri were still talking about building on CP. In real time, Janelle just bought land in NC (with what money??!), and I’d be shocked if Meri still wants to build there. So that just leaves Robyn and Kody. Did you notice Robyn saying she still wants to live on CP when Kody and Meri were discussing the option of selling all of it? She pretends she’s so open and fair and for-the-greater-good, but she always finds a way to get what she wants. 6 1 1 Link to comment
marlor December 3 Share December 3 What was stopping Meri and Janelle from keeping their cash and not paying off CP. The only people benefitting from the land is Kody and Robin. It seems Meri and Jenelle keep putting money down CP hole. 4 3 Link to comment
Elizzikra December 3 Share December 3 I’m not sure I really believe that Janelle is good with money. I think what she might be is a fair to middling bookkeeper. She is detail oriented enough to keep track of everything and she can add and subtract. That doesn’t mean that she is particularly good at making financial decision (I don’t think that any of the Browns are). 15 Link to comment

Basically the 2 they paid cash for was the collateral for the other 2 lots. I have been reading all of the posts about the lots and honestly it makes my head hurt. The games and shenanigans these people play regarding a piece of dusty land that only ever contained some trees, a drainage ditch and a cistern is crazy. I can see why Janelle just wanted some money to disentangle herself from this mess, because it seems like every time the subject of the land comes up, Kody has a completely different story. Kudos to the posters who can keep track of this mess because I surely cannot. I also wonder how Robyn likes being the sacrificial lamb for Kody. Like always, nothing is or was ever Robyn's fault, but Kody sure seems to want to make us believe that he can't ever have a good relationship with his kids because it's never a safe space for his only wife with a conscience (hahaha). Meanwhile Robyn claims to want Kody to repair his relationships - but how can he if those awful adult kids don't make Robyn feel safe? They've talked themselves right into a corner but neither of them will take the blame for it - and yet, they seem fine with throwing each other under the bus by claiming it's all about "safety." So if it's never Robyn's fault (per Kody) and it's not Kody's fault (because he says it's to protect Robyn), then....whatever. Those two live in such a web of tangled lies that they are constantly revising in an attempt to not seem like completely horrible people. P.S. - it's not working. 9 1 2 1 Link to comment
sassi214 December 3 Share December 3 I do not need to see any MAN TRIP starring Kody. All he does is perform for the cameras. It's boring and dumb. The hair regime segment was even dumber. But that flashback to younger Kody was just like looking at Gabe or Garrison. Goodness! What can I say, listening to Robyn and Kody talking about Coyote Pass was just maddening. Robyn is just a liar who lies. She keeps this narrative because she thinks it makes her look good. She wants "the porch and the grandkids." NO SHE DOESN'T. She wants Kody all to herself and she wants the others to surround her and watch. She WANTS them to be jealous. It's grotesque. Meri is Meri and she just HAD to go and tell R&K what Janelle said. I loved Kody's look of panic when Meri continued bringing up getting an appraisal. Again, we are still SO FAR behind. We know they don't build there. We KNOW they bought another house. This is all pretend for the cameras! There's no way that they were going to build on CP and then just all of sudden decided NAH, let's move into another mansion. How dumb do they think the viewers are?? Relatedly, Kody KEEPS saying that it's Robyn that makes him do things. But doesn't he cry every time someone calls him out on Robyn controlling things?? Pick a lane man! Finally, Kody will NEVER look inward to see that the reason his kids don't want to be around him is because of HIM. Not because of Robyn, not because of the other moms, not because of David. It's SOLELY because he gave conditions on his love. Period. If I was Janelle or Christine, I would invite them and let them be awkward and watch how light and joyful the rest of the family is without those two sour pusses. Or, I would call Kody up and remind him that it's Savannah's graduation and ask him what are YOU doing for her? Look I grew up in a divorced household where folks didn't get along. Have two parties! It's been done a million times before. Kody is just lazy and bitter. 7 2 2 1 Link to comment
RoxiP December 3 Share December 3 Safe and Triggered are two of the most overused words of recent times (and don't even get me started on demure). I'm not even sure Robyn wants Kody. I think she wants what Kody can give to her - (relative) financial stability, a big house, a TV camera stuck in her fact - but I think at this point Kody's use to her is someone who thinks she is perfect and indulges her every need. 4 3 Link to comment

Kodybdidnt need to be on every parcel, he just wanted to own it all at the end of the day. He talks a good game about how Janelle is trying to screw him over (she's only ever sounded like she wants her share), but I think it's really Kody who has always been trying to maintain power and control over the CP land so he is the king of prairie dogs shit pass and nobody can dispute that. Here's the thing, at the end of the day Kody Brown is a very small little man boy with a LOT of issues. And being in control of four women and all the money and land makes him feel like the baby king he thinks he is. It's a 'the emperor is wearing no clothes' situation but that's what it is. Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that technically the Brown Clown Family is buying g thst entire plot of land and these sub plots are just on paper fir the family, but I'm guessing that what we'd see in the county register is one big plot of land, because the family has changed the lines and sub plots at least twice that we know of, yes? So at the end of the day, Meri and Janelle are ultimately each due 1/4 of the total land value of that shitass piece of dirt. It should make zero difference what each sub plot is valued at IMO. A land appraiser should appraise the entire lot and divide that value by 4 and pay that each to Meri and Janelle. Period end of story. What else am I missing here?!? Just watched the Sarah Fraser podcast and allegedly CP is worth $1.3 mil. 7 1 Link to comment

They paid $820,000 for it so they've made $480,000 on it if they sell it for $1.3 million. Each person's one fourth share would be $325,000. 1 5 Link to comment

One third, as Christine no longer has a share. But it’s not even one-third, as the division of the parcels is so complicated! 2 Link to comment

I think Kody is, and always was, far more in love with Robyn than she is with him (and I use "in love" loosely because I don't think Kody truly understands the concept). Robyn wanted Kody but only if he brought along his minions to gaze upon her skinny form with jealousy. Without them, she is now stuck with him and his ego and his hair plugging her drains forever. And now that he seems to be fully immersed in the manosphere she gets to listen to all of that too, while he stares her down and cackles gleefully that he wants to screw Janelle, hates Meri, and that all of this is Christine's fault. Not sure I would want to be stuck under one roof with that level of unhinged, even if it is a 2.1 gazillion dollar home covered in art as far as the eye can see. 5 minutes ago, ginger90 said: They purchased two of the four lots outright. If they didn’t pay off the other two the owner could foreclose on all of it. This part confuses me. Two lots were paid off - by Meri and Janelle? Or by all of them? So if they didn't pay off the other two lots, the original owner takes back all four and also their money? Could they have started building on those two paid-for lots? What about the cistern, and all the innocent trees Kody was chopping down and stripping - he didn't own the land outright, so how could he mess with the property? If the part I bolded is correct, then I can see where these people did indeed sign a very stupid contract. For once I agree with Robyn. 6 1 1 Link to comment

The total it is allegedly worth is nice in total but individually it isn't as impressive. Sadly for Kody, his exes aren't quite as stupid as he thought and he can't hoodwink them out of their share. It angers me that Robyn would get a share should they sell it. What has she EVER put into the family pot except for her share of filming? The OG's kept that family in the lifestyle to which Robyn has become accustomed by their side hustles. 4 4 Link to comment
