Pascal’s son Maxim is……..so hot. Whew!

ETA: was so hoping Pascal would do something with Joan’s hair while she was in the salon!

How awkward to show up to a family memorial service with people you've never met and try to act properly sympathetic...plus she needs to wear a Sun hat, her skin has a lot of skin damage..

I’m not crazy about Joan.  At 61, the very long fake hair, the plastic surgery on her face, the very sexy clothes, etc.  She tells the men everything they want to hear.  Plus, she’s not the only woman who loves her family.  We all love our family and kids.  I just think she’s very conceited.  I’m getting tired of her and that’s my opinion.  Good Lord.  The very short red sequined dress.  Yikes.  I feel sorry for all the guys.  Her kissing all of them every minute brings their hopes up.  So sad.

It’s nice that all these men had adult children who love them. I was kind of surprised by how emotional Pascal’s kids were with him. That and Chock’s mother being a physician.

I think what we all learned from this episode is that the Chicago dating market is looking pretty grim for women. Jordan and Pascal have no want to settle down because they’re probably having the time of their lives in their version of Sex and the City. Pascal is a Carrie with the fashion obsession, and Jordan is a total Samantha.

I can sort of see how the “trauma bonding” with Chock and his family would’ve continued to deepen their connection, as you want to be there for the person you love. I think if they didn’t already have a strong connection that would have been awkward as hell, but I think that made them each see each other in that loving partner role.

Opposite of Guy, who while the date made them realize things they both enjoy, somehow just made them both miss boating with their families instead of making it seem like “their thing” to do together. That being said, Lake Tahoe is spectacular! I would choose Guy for that life alone over staring at bales of hay in Kansas.

But I don’t think there’s any denying that Chock is “the one” for Joan. Like one of his friends/relatives said, it’s obvious they’re both in love with each other. Though, I think she might have a bigger crush on Pascal, as in the “cool, disinterested guy she can’t have.” And, damn, that preview looked rough! Pascal will totally humiliate her. but Chock is the one…until neither is willing to move away from their families—but I think Chock might actually follow Joan, as he seems totally smitten with her.

The Chock visit, to a field on a farm for a memorial.  I'd want to see where he lives and how he lives.  What is he hiding?  She saw where Pascal works and lives.  She also saw Lake Tahoe and Guy's house.  It's a fantasy - no one is moving.

I think these hometown dates, we're the prettiest Joan has looked , plus, although nervous, she looked happy.
I like Guy, more than I thought I would, his family was lovely. I think  his divorce  really did a number on him. I'm not sure I can see Guy and Joan as a couple, we'll  see them  in Tahiti.

Pascal really  does have a zest for life, and he looks very good for 69. His son has his father's ability  to talk, and put you at ease, he was a good looking  boy. Pascal obviously  loves his family, I can't see him with Joan for some reason,  I loved her dress when she met him.

Jordan , like Guy, I didn't  know much about him. He had another  loving family,  very accepting,  I just didn't  see any chemistry  between  them.

Chock,  those blue eyes, he's a good  looking  man, and so is his father! That was nice she got to meet everyone,  Chock had talked about. I could  definitely  see her with Chock, he's  a smitten  man. She has feelings  for him,  even  if he's  afraid  of getting  hurt.

I don't  blame  the men for guarding  their  hearts, it's bad enough when you're  young, but getting  hurt when your older, it takes time to get over it.

Way to make mom/grandma’s “celebration of life” allllll about Joan & Chock and their “journey.” If I actually believed that was the real event instead of totally staged, I would be so embarrassed for them. (I mean, I am anyway …)

Chock is my least favorite of the final 3, so I hope she picks him and the other 2 escape. I feel like Jordan got a lucky break. I don’t even dislike Joan, but I’m tired of hearing about John, and whether she’s ready, etc.

Joan's pretty low on personality, but I will say Pascal brings it out of her. At the start of the season, I wouldn't have picked Pascal for her - not sure I still do, but only because I think he could do better. lol He's really grown on me throughout the season. side note: His grandson looks like him.

I don't really know how Jordan made it to Hometowns. They're the same age, but Joan seems so much older than him.

Chock gives me the ick. There's just something that does not vibe with me. But I'm not the one dating him, and Joan seems really into it.

Guy is the good on paper guy. Fit, a doctor.

"She's my rock!"

Uh, doesn't a relationship take time to evolve to use such a term?  Being a 'rock' is going through the ups, downs, turmoil and joys of life.  Did it seem a bit too soon for Chock to be using such a term?

On a superficial level, Pascal would be good for Joan, only because he would constantly distract her from the fact that she’s still grieving John.

Pascal’s son? I thought Guy’s son (the quiet one who didn’t get a one-on-one interview) was very handsome.

This episode I noticed in the direct sunlight all of the crepey skin on Joan’s arms.

I will applaud Pascal for one thing. Didn’t he, during the talent contest, bring on stage a woman with long blonde hair, and pretend that he was going to chop a lot of it off?

Her hair continues to look awful.  The only outfit that looked good on her was the dress she wore to meet Pascal's family.  I couldn't believe the sexy orange dress she wore to meet Guy's family!  And that short, short red sparkly thing at the rose ceremony.

I've noticed she rarely smiles.  And that non-stop talk about her dead husband and how she is feeling guilty for doing this.

None of these players seem prepared to move across the country.  I wonder when that subject might come up.  It seems like a big one!

I feel like this was all just to cash in on the "golden" franchise. Seems like a lot of people's hearts aren't really into it, mainly her.

She is in a fight with Martha Stewart.  Martha is over80 and looks fabulous.  She knows how to dress and keep her hair neat.  Joan is going for the sexy look.  It ain’t working.  Maybe for the guys, but you all know guys, lol.  They like the sexy side.  She does not look classy.  The hair is for a younger woman.  The very short dresses too.  Those lips are frozen.  They don’t move.

I'm not surprised at all that Jordan is gone, he and Joan are both so low energy and their chemistry was pretty much at a zero. He seems like a nice guy, but she vibes way harder with the other men, I am not even sure how he made it as far as hometowns.

I still think that Chock is way too intense and possessive, but Joan is really into it and they both do seem to be falling in love with each other. I would have personally found it really awkward to be at a whole grieving ceremony with a family for a woman I never even knew and don't know anyone except the man I'm dating, but Joan seemed very moved by it and Chock and his family seemed happy to have her (and the camera crew) so more power to them. I'm actually more interested in hearing about Chock's mom, its really cool that she was a physician.

I didn't expect Pascal to make it this far, but he has really grown on me. He's still a high maintenance good time guy, but he does seem like a good person who cares about Joan and, more importantly, his family. His family is a lot like him, all good looking and very charming.

Guy really seems like the best on paper and he's been my pick for weeks, but there is that restraining order business having in the real world. We don't know the whole story, and his kids and family are still obviously very close with him, but its definitely something big to consider.

I don't dislike Joan, but I still don't think she was the best choice. I get that they picked her for her dramatic exit for the GB, but I would think they would go with someone who still isn't so obviously deeply in mourning for her deceased husband, maybe they should have found someone more excited about moving on, and that's not even getting into her husbands legal troubles, which has never even been hinted at on the show. She still feels like her heart isn't fully in this.

Omg my thoughts exactly! Why the hell would you take the Bachelorette on your hometown visit to a memorial service! What!??? Wichita must be short on fun tourist spots and vistas if this is the play for Joan's affections! I can't decide whether it's better or worse if it was staged or real. And having Joan with the shovel of dirt for a woman she has never met because of a man she's known for a few weeks is so weird!

Chock is still gross to me - he talks like a politician - it's so smooth and rehearsed, its phony sounding. I cannot believe he actually said he was introverted and reserved - He is the most aggressive and overtly pushy guy left. Cut the aw-shucks bullshit Chock, I'm not buying it.

But she is definitely picking him. What that means, I have no idea. She seems to have zero interest in leaving her family and the east coast. And she keeps talking about her dead husband and using words like "not ready" and "guilt". She might pick someone at the end of this, but do I think they are getting married in a gross over the top ceremony paid for by ABC a la Gerry and Teresa? Not a chance.

I still like Guy the most. He's sensitive and in touch with his feelings and cautiously expressing them, and his family was lovely. I just keep getting friend vibes from Joan when she is with him. If she doesn't pick him I would love for him to be the next GB!

Pascal, I don't know. I like him more than I did at the start, but I just still get player vibes. He's here for a good time, not for a long time would be my guess.

The preview looks wild - more drama than we've seen all season - bring it on!

I absolutely love Wichita and have vacationed there. Lovely downtown, lots to do, gorgeous river walk. I only saw that one quick overhead snippet before we were on the ranch. If you are ever going there, stay at the Drury, it’s right on the river.

I did think it was weird we didn’t see where Chock lives.

Whose ranch was that?  The rolled wheat (or is that alfalfa? 🤪) in the background when he was talking to the camera looked like some fake zoom background. Also, weird that we were shown Joan talking to Chock's dead fiancé's father, but not his actual father?

Side note, I really liked Guy's couch.

As a Nebraskan, I knew in my heart that we'd see nothing but bales and countryside during Chock's hometown - never mind that the Wichita metro has 650,000 people.

I think Chock's coming on too strong and will burn out. My money's on Guy.

People rag on Joan's looks and how she dresses - I'm 62 and have reached the point in my life where I'll dress exactly as I want and really couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. Go Joan - be happy.

About 20 years ago, I spent almost two months in Wichita.  I saw a billboard touting it as the Air Capital of the World, and thought that was pretty self-aware and funny because there's nothing there but air.

Turns out it's something to do with aviation.

The way Chock kisses Joan is not organic. It’s performative. It’s like he’s trying to mark his territory/urinate on her.

I wonder if viewers are playing drinking games; drink whenever Chock unilaterally decides it’s time to kiss.

She needs to stop bringing up John all the time. If she can't move on yet, she's the wrong person for the show. Bringing down the room constantly isn't an endearing quality. The guys understand, but still, I wonder if they wish she would just stop and enjoy her time with THEM.

I like Pascal now. He's nice looking, wealthy, fun, energetic and has a zest for life. Plus the accent, of course. And that drive in his car!  Being so adventurous, he probably took the opportunity to be on the show, but let's face it; having someone else pick the "love of his life" is pretty random. I see him having his pick of lovely women to choose from in his private life; one that matches his own energy level and is really ready to commit. Joan isn't.

He doesn't need the show to find him someone.

I don't think it would work out anyway - I see her picking the boring, unattractive, charisma-limited Chock.

Hells bells.  I would love a Doctor in the house.  So convenient.t.  I’d go for him in a flash.  What kind of name is Chock?  He looks sleezy for me.  I don’t remember all this kissing going on on the other seasons.  Looks like Joan is having trouble with her lips when kissing.  They don’t move.

Humph, as soon as Jordan expressed having a wall and not falling for someone in the span of a couple of weeks, I knew he was toast.  However, he along with Pascal are ‘blessed’, if you catch my drift.  (Looks around, making sure that Mr. Yogi isn’t lurking about).

I wasn’t into Pascal until he cried at someone’s elimination (I forget who)…then I started to notice his beautifully expressive brown eyes.  His son Maxim is adorable, hell, all his kids were nice looking.  If he is truly serious about wanting to be in love, I could see him as the next Golden Bachelor.  One thing I hmm’d was this…for someone that’s into being fit and all, I was surprised at some of his salon employees, a few of them had junk in their trunks.  He just seemed to be the type that would only want to be around fit people.  Joan's dress when meeting his family was fire!

The restraining order against Guy has turned me off to him.  Actually, his teeth were kind of oft putting so I can’t say I was ever Team Guy.  Plus, with the way Joan kisses him, I’m not convinced she’s into him at all.  The only suitors I’ve seen use tongue when kissing Joan were Jordan and Chock.

Speaking of which, UO here, but…I like Chock.  He wants Joan and is pursuing her, isn’t that what we want?  Maybe it is the romantic in me but outside of one or two inappropriate remarks he made during the bowling group, I don’t see him doing anything wrong.

Oh, and I’ll let you in on a secret…I met Mr. Yogi’s family at his mother’s funeral!  As awkward as it was (which included me sitting in the front pew of all places!), his family could not have been more welcoming.

Keith for the next Golden Bachelor!!

I know I have said this before, but this is her second go-round on this show.  First one, she left early.  Now this season she is having doubts if she should be there.  Why did they choose her?  What would be wrong with choosing someone who is READY to be in a relationship, or engaged or married?

That close-up kiss with Chock when she went to his mom's memorial service (weird), was cringe worthy.  I didn't need to see that.

I just think it was very weird that they made the hometown "date" his mother's memorial service, and her shoveling dirt was inappropriate. She never met the woman! I blame the producers here.

There is nothing wrong with that.  But it is a problem if she is on a dating show to find a husband.  Chock is just creepy to me.  Who brings a date to a memorial tree planting for his mother?  This is not a woman he was dating long term that knew his mother.

Oh good grief. Chock said that? He's delusional. How is she "his rock?" Has he leaned on her through thick and thin, lifetime trials and trauma, raising kids, etc? NO. What a ridiculous thing to say. Clearly, this guy isn't thinking straight. Maybe his real goal is to just "win" the last rose.

Taking her to his mom's memorial service was out of line and inappropriate, like I mentioned earlier. I am happily saying it again. And taking the shovel? With all due respect, who is she to do this?

Was it Guy who took Joan to Lake Tahoe? One of my favorite places. I have been there often since it's relatively close to me.

Next week's show is going to introduce a little drama.
