Maybe if Hester had used the time she spent on her hat on her garment instead . .  

And Korto is keeping it classy by petulantly complaining about how Anna is repeating herself. But what about Korto's woven top? Didn't she say she was deliberately copying her seat belt dress from season 5?

Bit I thought Anna was going to be on the bottom, so was surprised she is on the top.

Happy Brittany did so well. I hope she wins the challenge.

I understand why the other contestants are so outraged by Anna being in the top, but I don't think they quite appreciate their role in the judges' decision. Anna backed into being on the top because the judges did not view most of the designs as interesting.

Interesting to me that the safe designers were way more worked up about Anna’s repeat design than the at risk designers.  

Brittany was the right winner I think.  And I’m not ready for my  PR crush Rami to go yet so, whew!

Why are they crying and talking to Anna like that? Let her make her crepe paper party streamers dresses. I'm glad Kara Saun said something about everyone having their own aesthetic and to not say those things to Anna. I don't think Anna should have been top 3, but the last minute kind of ruined some of the other designers for me.

Hester's hat is the right red, but not sure it's the same fabric after all. She would have had to spend a lot of time shredding the fabric.

Yay to Kara Saun and Rami for speaking up for Anna! Kayne is not exactly the master of innovative and original looks himself.

I wonder why Korto is so sour.

Anna’s dress was ugly and repetitive, but so was Korto’s. The named the right winner and sent the right person home. 

I love me some Fabio, but that garment was awful. I liked Rami’s dress, but Lena was right. The zippers were too small to have made a detailing difference adn there was some puckering. A dress that simple needed to be perfect. It wasn’t. I say that when Rami is one of my all time favorites.

Bishme’s was interesting, but those sleeves were silly and poorly constructed.

The judges continue to be insane... though this week I think they had both the winner and the auf right, it's just everything else that made no sense. I wonder if this was a "lets pick rami and fabio for drama/just to talk to them"  knowing that Hester was going home long before. 

I get people being annoyed that Anna did a similar look, but also, don't say that to her face... the editing made it look like Korto was really going over the top with her frustration and bitching at Anna. I don't think Anna's look was great, it belonged somewhere in the middle probably... but just keep it to yourself and we will complain about it on the message boards :P 

But PR has always been this way, some people get away with doing the same look over and over, and others get reamed about it almost immediately if anything is slightly similar. The judges do what they want and then make shit up to make it work.

Darn them for making me feel sorry for Anna.  It wasn’t her fault the judges put her in the top.  I don’t blame the guest judge who hadn’t seen Anna’s other dress.  I wonder if Corto was going to do something African inspired (she said her next look would be) but thought she shouldn’t repeat herself from the same season.

Kayne and Korto were both safe, so they really had no basis for piling on Anna. When people behave that way, you really have to wonder what they hope to accomplish. What benefit accrues to them by behaving so cruelly to Anna? Maybe ostracizing Anna makes them feel more accepted. I'm not sure.

Korto is an extremely unpleasant person unless she is the one being praised the judges. For those who wondered why Viktor and not Anna was eliminated now know why. LOL. Viktor made up with Korto so his drama arc ended but the producers are going to milk her for everything they can. Korto vs. Anna - who will make it the farthest? Not based on the clothes but the drama. 😝

The judges are always confusing because the producers are in their ears. It’s usually the same contradictory critiques.

”you need to take more risks.”

designer takes risk: 

“we don’t see any of YOU in this design.”

or

”don’t lose your point of view.”

designer repeats an embellishment or fabric:

”we’ve seen this before. You need to take more risks.”

Anna lucked out that so many did draping.

 Korto's coat/dress  she made from woven car seat belts in the unconventional challenge of her season is a real standout favorite of mine,   so when I saw her look (which I liked) I thought wow she really likes to do those woven strips of fabric garments... it's like one of her signatures.

The funereal bathing cap Anna’s wearing in her confessionals is fierce.

“Dress from the front, jumpsuit from the back” doesn’t sound unexpected as much as it sounds like Bai Ling’s go-to outfit if she ever embraced modesty.

Rami’s look is designed for Chic Street, which is located in Funkytown, USA, the same premium outlet mall just outside of Bloomington, Indiana, where Kayne bought his hair.

“The top is in progress” would be a great memoir title for dozens of past, present, and future contestants on this show.

Weird Al needs to record a parody of “Funkytown” called “Wonky Crotch” with voiceovers by Christian Siriano and Tim Gunn: “Don’t defend/ the wonky crotch/to me”

Everything about Hester is so try-hard. They could be wearing acid washed overalls with one strap, six fanny packs, three scrunchies, a banana clip, a transparent cagoule, and the hamburger phone from Juno on the top of their head with jelly high heels while screaming inclusive buzzwords interspersed with “yassss!” and it would be more low-key and watchable. And I say that as someone who bought a giant paper fan that says “game over” for Pride and waved it at bigoted Christian counterprotestors (and I may also own one or more fanny packs).

Laurence is competing in a separate show called Project Runway: Not Giving a Shit. “This look took no effort, but it should be in the top, even though it took me like two minutes.” Reality TV has really advanced since ANTM, when that attitude would have sparked a more vicious Tyra rant than this.

Lord honey, the outfit Hester is wearing for the judging is like Spencer Gifts did a collaboration with Hot Topic and Cross Colors inspired by Homer Simpson's muumuu.

The judging is rock paper fucked up as usual, but I agree with at least one thing they did.

I'm with you! Korto and Kayne were awful. Anna's dress was ugly. But, she followed the brief and that was to stand out and design what you do best. Korto's design did not stand out in any way. None of the safe looks did either. That's not Anna's fault. What exactly did they expect her to do... throw herself on the ground and say "no, judges send me home. I don't deserve your votes"?

All the complainers are full of crap! But, Korto was the absolute worst. I'm not a fan of this version of her. When she's not whining, she's boasting about how great she is. Ugh! 🙄

Nina made me nervous when she said the auf'd this week was going to be so painful. Iirc, Nina was a big fan of Hester's in her season so I worried for Rami. Because upset over booting Hester? No, no. It's a good thing. No Siriano Save for her.

Must have been hard to find material with a color that crappy. The runway hurt my eyes. And the judges hurt my ears. I don't know if I'm going to make it to the finale. Same for you, Kayne.

Elaine defending Hester’s garment by saying it would look better in dim lighting is everything I hate about Elaine. She’s an imbecile. Also, Hester’s model looked like she tucked a pair of socks into her crotch. That was some crazy bad tailoring, Hester— don’t blame the fabric. 

Speaking of misplaced blame, poor Anna. I agree that dress was ugly and repetitive, but the only ones who should be blamed for it landing in the top are the ones who put it there. And it’s not like those safe drapers haven’t draped a time or two (or fifty) before, themselves. But somehow that doesn’t count as repeating a look?

Rami belonged in the bottom because that dress was really ill fitting. Far from his best work. I would have put Hester and Anna beside him. But the right one went home.

Yes, Anna, yes. Last ruffles were plastic. These were polyester. Totally different thing.

These judges suck. In spite of themselves and their confusing top and bottom designers, they picked a creditable winner and a creditable loser. Nevertheless, these judges still suck.

This was a great challenge. I really liked the idea of everyone having to use the same fabric and only wish the designers had been given more time. Brittany's look was my favorite, though everyone except Hester did a good (Rami, Laurance) to great (Kara Saun, Brittany) job. I'm just glad that Rami and Bishme were safe. Trying to figure out these judges from week to week is a fool's errand. I never know, and neither do the designers, what they're going to like or why. Hell even Brandon and Elaine didn't know which direction Nina was headed with her supposed alarm!

Agree with everyone upthread about the Anna pile-on. The judging is not her fault. While I don't have any memory of Kayne from his season, I do remember Korto being a mean-spirited and petty whiner when things didn't go her way then, too (and damn that vocal fry of hers is unbearable). When she pontificated that the dust-up that her and Kayne engineered was going to divide the group? That there was some bullshit. Also, her dress last week wasn't all that and shouldn't have been the winner.

I liked the guest judge and loved the photos they showed of her different looks. She made a granny-square cardigan look cool, ha ha!

Bishme's look stood out. It wasn't minimalist. And it didn't rely on draping. So why not put him in the top?

Kudos to Kara Saun for gathering everyone on the importance of not bringing negativity to the workroom. I however, am at home, so negative I shall be: Anna's dress is clear bottom level bullshit.

The judges took a puzzling route, but at least they got to the right choices for winner and loser of the episode.
