Tom continues to spiral over his mistakes while juggling devastating news from back home. Capt. Glenn contemplates whether he can trust Tom. The Parsifal III crew pull together a “talentless” talent show for the energetic charter guests. In the galley, Gabriela and Marcos have a miscommunication during dinner service that causes tension to bubble up between them. Friction between Gary and Daisy intensifies after Kelsie is caught covering Gabriela’s duties on the final day of charter.

Tom certainly suffers from a lack of initiative...completely clueless. It's like he was just begging to be fired. Couldn't have been more obvious that the captain wanted him to get cleaning. What does he do? He goofs off again. I agree with Glenn that Tom had to go, but I would not have canned him in the crew mess. Too many ears. The bridge would have been a more appropriate area for a firing. At least he'll learn from this and it will never happen again. Unfortunately the lesson cost him this job. Something similar happened to me once, a hard lesson to learn for sure but I never let it happen again and I never forgot it. Hindsight is 20/20.

Tom was fired when Captain Glenn didn’t want to discuss the incident when they were in the crew cabin. Tom knew he was going to be fired, however waiting for the axe to fall added to his anxiety.

Am I the only one who forgets there is a female deckhand until they randomly show her? Then I’m like “oh, yeah- she’s there, too”.

Her name Kelsie. She does her job quietly and efficiently. Kelsie, like a good baseball umpire, doesn’t want the spotlight on themselves. A good umpire allows the players to determine the results of the game.

Ashley is still evil.

Tom is still clueless, bye!  Why not wait until the end of the charter to can him?  He could be useful until the new guy comes on.  There's plenty of mindless work to be done.

Well, now everybody splits his tip.😎

Kelsey gets some screen time!

Marcos' head seems to have healed up nicely.  His food continues to be impressive.  I don't get why the seafood had to be all ready at once.  I would bring them out in succession, that way everything is hot.  Gabriella did tell him they were all seated, that should have been enough clue to get started.  The stuff cooks pretty fast.

Don't disappoint me Gabriella, stay away from Gary.  Eww🥶.  His coffee fit was just silly.

Talent show was as lame as I expected it to be.  Colin was the star.

Very nice guests!

I just started watching and the competitive, always horny girl is just eww. This is the type of person that says, “I don’t have girlfriends bc they are all jealous of me.” No, it’s because she doesn’t respect boundaries and would sleep with anyone for a win. She’s mediocre at best.

Yeah they had to send him off in the middle of the charter for the drama.  The replacement has to go through quarantine but they expect to have him or her in just a couple of days?

Tom's not just goofing around, he's sitting on the deck and gossiping about how he's been inside Ashley.  No guests around but inappropriate workplace conversation, though this isn't a real workplace and fraternization is of course encouraged.

Ashley is like, "he'd got to go" but then puts on a sad face to say goodbye to him.

Talent show is from the producers, to make the cast jump through more hoops.  But it looked like the guests and the cast really got into it and enjoyed each other.  At most real charter crew may sings Happy Birthday, like some restaurant staff do.  Or will they really go to this extent?  At least Gabriella had some singing background and Colin could play the guitar and sing a bit.

I was on Gary’s side on this.  7:00AM is pretty late for a stew to show up for breakfast service, especially when some of the guests might be early risers.  I don’t think it’s right for the deck crew to handle it under normal circumstances, but especially not when they’re short-staffed.

Giving a huge side-eye to Ashley on her behavior towards Gabby,  It feels less about the work situation and more about their different backgrounds (read: race). Specifically her comment when Gary suggested a threesome, Ashley was all "not with her" with full sneer. Adding that to her previous dismissiveness then saying she was intimidated by Gabby's attitude when called on it, I'm not liking where this is headed.  Has anyone checked Ashley's social media history?

Will these Bravo casting people not learn how not to cast racists/bigots/misogynists? WE DON'T WANT TO WATCH THEM.

I understand why Glen fired Tom but he really should've let him finish the charter.  Why do it in front of the guests and why make the team short-handed for a longer period of time?  Kelsie was already handling anchor watch this charter so having Tom there as a extra set of hands if only to clean the boat made more sense.

You think? I'm not so sure. I've had employees like Tom before. There's something not right with him. When you first meet him he seems like a nice, reasonably intelligent, articulate person, but then as you spend more time with him and these really stupid things keep happening you realize there's a disconnect with reality going on. Even after suspecting Glenn was about to fire him, he's sitting around  chewing the fat with the crew instead of busting his ass. That was obviously the final straw. I don't think he will learn because I don't think he understands what happened. I'm not sure he can be fixed, either.

It's probably for the sake of drama, but as I noted above, once Glenn realized Tom was still goofing off even though he knew he was on thin ice, that sealed it. There's also a safety issue involved if Tom is spraying water all over sensitive electrical equipment, or simply not tending to his duties at all. Better to cut him loose than risk another incident.

Tom at least took it pretty well but, again, I think that's due more to the fact that he doesn't really understand what's going on.

As far as Kelsie and CoffeeGate go - I think Daisy was mostly right. Getting a coffee for someone shouldn't have prevented Kelsie from doing anything else. She was probably chatting with the guest too. Then again, we saw during the anchor drag incident that Ashley was already up before Tom had gone to bed, so the morning stews are at least sometimes up that early. There should probably be a set time for them to get up in the morning rather than it being dependent on when they go to bed.

7 am did seem late for the stew to be coming on duty, but that's on Daisy not Gabriella.  Gary was right in what he was saying altho he and Daisy were overacting for drama.

So much of what Glenn was saying to the camera,  he should have been saying directly to Tom.

Ok I too am on Gary's side of Coffegate.  He is already 1 crew member down so as captain said everyone needs to pitch in.  Gary was upset that the covers were still on because Kelise could not remove them when the guest came up because no one from Interior was up to get him coffee and chat with him so she could.  I thought Daisy was way too dismissive of Gary's compliant.

Ashley is gross and she does not like Gabby for 2 reasons.  1. Gabby is 2nd stew 2. Gary pays Gabby attention.  I don't see anything that says racism from Ashley.  Just grossness in her approach to let everyone know she want to screw Gary.  And to complain constantly about being 3rd stew.  She is just rude.

Another Coffeegate angle:

With at least 15+ people on this boat (+film crew), I would think there is some giant coffee urn somewhere.  Marcos could easily set up a new batch before he crashes so the first one up hits the button.  It looked like Gabriella(?) was making individual espressos or something.  IDK

I'm smelling some production manufactured drama here.

And does any guest really care if the covers are off the furniture?  At the crack of dawn?  The guests are at the table or the bar.

My guess is that production already has at least one replacement waiting in the wings (a stew, a deckie, etc.) and the delay is for drama.

Mind you, I could be reading into this, but last week Ashley said she was "afraid" to ask Gabriela questions and was "intimidated" by her because of her "attitude." That's where I started raising an eyebrow because Ashley seems neither "afraid" nor "intimidated" by anyone. Also, as mentioned above, she was pointed in saying no to a 3-way "with someone like that."

I think that Gary was really tired and just wound himself up so he couldn't stop arguing.  Daisy should have just said, "sure, it'll never happen again."

The thing that's is pure gold about this franchise are Gary's comments, especially about love, and Colin's hysterical reaction to them.  Somebody should make a montage.

And I love Colin's little engineer closet - looks to be about 2x3.

Was Gary joking when he said he was interested in a love relationship with Daisy?  He JUST hooked up with Gabrielle!  He's got to be one of those guys who loses interest as soon as he makes his "conquest."  That happened last season, too.

BDSY Comments

You can’t unsee what you’ve seen.  And you can’t unread what you’ve read.  Combine the two, and you have my episode comments… in order of broadcast.

So during the recap of last week, I froze the stream to read the details of the guest list.  OMG.  The Primary guest seems the sanest.  He apparently likes to sail.  Good luck with this charter.  All the rest are escapees from the local “eat the new rich” asylum.

The “Itinerary Requests” page reads like a producer’s wish list.  Day/Night 1 is normal enough with cocktails on the beach during sunset and a local Menorca sampling of dishes for dinner.  But then we get into Day 2 with a request for a crew member to “lead them into a morning yoga routine”.  Please.  Keep your shirt/pants on.  Then on Night 2 it’s the “Double Down Casino Party”.

Hit me.  Of course, we never really see any of these.

Tom is still uneasy from his dragging anchor failure – as well he should be.  Kudos to Gary who doesn’t exonerate him and says “it’s above my pay grade” to resolve it.

Captain Glenn is so nice.  Instead of having to overhear quotes from Tom regarding Ashley, “I’ve been inside her,” he politely asks him to go to some extreme end of the boat to do some work (which he doesn't do).

Captain Glenn: “It hasn’t really sunk in how serious that was” (regarding Tom’s failure on the anchor chain incident).  Well, Glenn, really whose fault is that?  You should have reamed him a new one, stuck him in a makeshift brig, and fire him immediately.  Now you’re just going to pussyfoot around the issue and passively get rid of him?  You’re as much a part of the problem, Glenn, sorry to say.

Hey, look, one of the charter guests is Vizzini from The Princess Bride!

Finally Kelsie gets a chance!  I’d feel safer with her on watch than Tone-Deaf Tom.  And she proves herself by alerting the crew when there are rocks inside the area marked.

Tom, explaining himself as he’s getting fired:  “I’ve been going through some things.”  Yeah, mate, we all go through “things”.  But we can’t let that affect the safety of others who count on us.  So please, pack your “things” and split.

Tom:  “I hope we can look back on this and laugh at it.”  Dude, we’d be laughing now if it weren’t so pathetic.

And the boat really sails!  Woo hoo!

Captain Glenn, setting up for the talent show:  “Does any of us have any talent?”  Well, we’ve seen Gabriela is the Queen of Salsa!  You can just put her out there and be done with it!

Kayaking in the caves looks like it was fun!  Would have liked to see a little more footage of that.

I thought Gabriela was pretty clear on when she said people were seated.  Food Truck Marcos needs to get over himself.

It was a fun talent show.  Nothing great, but a good, sincere effort.  (:

Gary:  “I don’t want to jump into bed with just anyone”.  Best joke of the night!

Next week – will the fake crew drama explode?  Does Marcos actually flip off Gabriela?  Will we see Kelsie do anything but sleep?  Who gets a finger pinched in a door?  Stay tuned!

So far, IMO, this season is a bit boring.  Not terrible but nothing exciting is happening and that's with a deckhand getting fired.  Meh IDK it's just these arguments seems so silly to me.  The Marcos/Gab thing can be resolved with a discussion.  So can the stupid coffee incident.  Luckily the guests seem super cool so no added stress there.

I've repeatedly said there should be some sort of buffet available with basics like croissant, toast, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, etc., and that guests could order eggs a certain way if they wanted more than that. I'm positive they simply don't do that because they want all the drama and chaos that comes from eight guests all ordering different things and making life hell for the chef.

Yes, Marcos does a great job with his breakfast spreads.  Then, if anyone wants something special, he can whip it up while they are having bread and fruit.

I think Marcos is an excellent chef, but I am on Gabrielle's side this time.  She told him the guests were seated, which is what they have always said in the past.  Marcos didn't respond, so now he's blaming her and throwing her under the bus with her superior.  I thought it was great of her to clarify what she should say next time.  She took the criticism and was flexible, even though she wasn't in the wrong.

Team Gary on Coffeegate.  Daisy should have taken his information and realized that these charter guests might be early risers and adjust her crew's schedules accordingly.  She shouldn't have blown off Gary's concerns and said it was no big deal for Kelsie to make coffee.  Maybe under normal circumstances but when deck crew is down a person, it is.  I have a suspicion she wouldn't feel the same if Gabriela or Ass-ley had to pitch in for the deck crew, taking them away from doing cabins or something like that.

Clearly firing Tom mid-charter was done for entertainment/ratings/whatever.  Even if he weren't pulling his weight, he's still an extra body when needed, at least until the end of this charter.  Sending him off and away in front of the guests seems especially cruel to me.  Wait until this charter is over and then let him go when no one other than crew is aboard the boat.

Ass-ley is nothing but a skeeze in my book.  She dissed Tom until she clearly wasn't getting anywhere with Gary then hooked up with Tom, then said she prejudged him and he wasn't all that bad -- until he got in trouble and then suddenly she was back to her "this is why I don't like men my own age" b.s. and dissing him again.  She's pretty vile.  And I don't think her dislike for Gabriela has anything to do with racism.  I think it's because Ass-ley is one of those females who is in competition with every other female.  It started because Gabriela was made second stew and just exacerbated because Gary was kissing all over Gabriela (and maybe more).

Producers, please, no more talent shows.  It's ridiculous that we're expected to believe that charter guests who pay $$$$$ for a charter would want a talent show of any crew, much less crew they don't know.

I love Marcos but he was wrong re: Gabriela.  His food continues to look (and apparently taste) amazing.

Colin continues to be awesome.

While I agree it was most likely done this way for the drama, don't forget about the time he sprayed water all over the control panel. Every minute he remains on that boat he's a potential hazard to it and everyone else's safety. He can't be trusted to do even the simplest of things. I can see where sitting around on his ass when he should have been working was the last straw for Glenn.

Part Of Tom’s issues come from failing to realize he’s screwed up and take the criticism that comes with it to improve going forward.

I think it was in the first episode he screwed up something, closing a door I think? I don’t remember if it was the engine room, where they store the water toys or what …. Colin corrected him and instead of acknowledging his mistake and promising to do better, he justified his mistake. Then it was a series of mistakes (large and small), bad behaviors, and bad luck coupled with his failure to acknowledge and understand his role in these mishaps that led to his dismissal.

I rewatched the grounding of the boat and he left the deck after cleaning it at 5:05 am and went below for a snack. Wind was at 5 knots. In 25 minutes he eats and smooches with Ashley eats some more and then realizes the wind has picked up dramatically. The alarm went off when he was in the crew mess, the same time everyone else heard the alarm. It all went down fast after a long night of everything being fine and I don’t blame him as severely as the captain and crew do. Tom failed to explain that 25 minutes earlier the wind was at 5 knots after a peaceful uneventful night. He failed to express that now he understands that in 25 minutes the fate of the boat can turn.

But foolish Tom says he won’t take the blame then sits around with hard working Colin to discuss Ashley in a vulgar manner in front of our gentlemanly captain. Also that was an area guests wander up to occasionally. Just gross.
He should have had a chamois in his hand constantly, always on his feet and moving, and after he had completed every single crew job, ask interior if they need help.
But after the door issue, throwing up in the captain’s head and failing to clean it up until told to do so, the wrong fender incident, throwing the wrong line tonight, his angry drunken outbursts in the crew quarters, and probably other things I can’t remember he had to go. He wasn’t learning from his mistakes and they were getting more severe.

Coffee-gate simply needs more communication. Kelsey should have woken up Gabriella to notify her that guests were up and requesting coffee. Then Gabriella gets up, tends to the guests, and asks Kelsey if she needs any help to finish her shift.

The dust up in the kitchen between Gabriella and Marcos looks silly but if we’ve learned anything from this show and Kate Chastain, chefs are a little crazy.

I have a theory about Gary, he loves his mama and I think after last season she told him to find a good woman like Daisy and that’s why he’s pursuing her. I think he genuinely likes her but he doesn’t burn for her the way he did for Allie.  But he likes her enough that he can go for it and try to make it happen. I think Daisy genuinely likes Gary but she’s not really and truly into him. She’s just having fun.

Good summary of all the terrible crap that Tom has done. I was extremely uncomfortable with how he aggressively pursued Ashley all over the boat to talk shit about her. And pouring tequila over her head was incredibly immature and ridiculous, not to mention a waste of some good tequila.  What a total d-bag!

Kayaking in the caves looks like it was fun!  Would have liked to see a little more footage of that.

I agree. Did any crew go along with them? I didn't notice any (other than the camera crew of course, LOL). That seemed odd.

I have to admit I would have been interested to see what Tom's "talent" might have been.

We did see him previously juggle nonchalantly on the beach barbecue setup (assuming he was showing off for Ashley).  He probably has a few things like that he could get by on. He reminds me of the geeky Brit in "Love Actually" who goes to America once he's told that American women basically drop their panties when they hear an accent like his. He goes to America to a random [I believe] Minnesota town & it turns out to be true. I don't know why but he just does. However,  Ashley "knows [she] looks good" so she didn't particularly fall for it. I'll be the mom in the room & just say what I think...I feel bad for these peoples' parents. There. I said it 😔
