Parsifal III's new crew figures out how to work together to execute a successful first charter. Marcos works tirelessly to satiate the massive appetites of the charter guests. Gabriela aims to prove she deserves the second stew title while Ashley works her own angle to convince Daisy she’s the better pick. A sail that is sold to Daisy as mild ends up including a dramatic heel, which leaves glasses broken and her fuming. To make up for the embarrassment of the first night, Tom tries to prove to his new team that he is good at his job but he struggles along the way. The first crew night out leads to conflict between Tom and Ashley after Ashley dismisses Tom’s advances because of his age.

Yes, it was a boring episode. The only memorable thing for me was Ashley putting on a bikini for the hot tub after going out with the crew. Not that, yes her girls are nice, but who says "I know I look good". What an ego.

Ashley better enjoy and flaunt her looks now.  She seems like the type of chick that’s gonna be 25lbs. heavier by the time she’s aged 30. Ashley is already a little thick. 😂

Will I  change my beginning impression of Marco ( that he’s a dream chef). I foolishly chose Rayna as my favorite at the beginning of the last “Below Deck”so I hope I’m not wrong this time. Besides being eye candy, he had an interesting story, a great attitude and he can COOK!  See ya, Adam.

Ashley is so hot for Gary and herself….. not sure why, she’s nothing out of the ordinary although I was surprised how busty she was when she appeared in her bikini. I hope Gary brushes her off.  The cook seems pretty cool so far, maybe a little obsessive cleaning but previews don’t look great, so hope it’s the guests and not the chef.

Ashley is positioning herself as this season’s villain. If Gary sleeps with her he will live to regret it!

Her hospital corners were wonky but she was too stupid to understand. When she was watching Gary and Daisy goof around she looked like a cartoon villain.

Daisy looked fabulous on they’re night out and just like last year her Opening Night swimsuit was super cute!

The female deckhand seems awfully awkward. Tom was right that the deck crew should have been better prepared for their docking. I had to laugh, Tom felt he was carrying too much weight when undressed for the party?
I was glad the primary realized he behaved poorly the night before.
Marcos was the star of that charter. Damn, he worked hard, creatively, and non stop! Every single dish was amazing and beautifully presented.

So far Ashely seems like she is going to be trouble. What doesn't she get about Gary not wanting the same thing that she does? She seems desparate for him to sleep with her. I hope he does't slip up and give in.

I am glad that the guest apologized to Gabby for being inappropriate with her the night before. And she handled it like a pro. She acceptd his apology graciously and didn't turn it into something other than a drunk guest acting poorly on one night. I hope she reacts in a like manner when Ashley comes for her. Because I have a feeling Ashley is going to try  to cause trouble for Gabby.

Haven't we had those guests before? I feel like the primary having a tantrum about the food is a redux.

After watching this episode I am still unclear what the primary's deal was, he was hitting on Second Stew, telling her he does not like women but is married? What have I got wrong?

The tip was less than I thought it would have been, $17,000 seems like that was a big tip in the 2013's, right?

Why does Glenn consistently decide to go railing to water during a time the chef is preparing for a meal or the guests are unaware and nobody has secured items and cabinets?  What happened to communicating to the crew that in an hour we will be sailing?  I always wonder if after a season of surprise sailing that new dishes and glassware have to be purchased.  If I were the guest of that charter I would have been pissed the table went over taking the food with it, glasses went flying and the one guest had his chair tip over and could have gone overboard. Do they even have safety meetings prior to each sail?

Why did Tom have to strip down to his skivvies?

Why does anyone chase after Gary?

When do we see the crazy part of Chef?

Ashley's not nearly as hot as she thinks she is. I'll give her this, she has the stank face down pat.

Marcos is interesting, attractive and talented.

Damn it, Gary's growing on me. I like his "do anything to stay on Daisy's good side" act.

I agree.  He was drunk and being very stupid and I am sure after last week's episode aired, he had some explaining to do to his wife.  And it was a good example of how Rayna should have handled the drunken night out with cast and a misspoke word.  Accept all apologizes gracefully and MEAN IT.

What is up with Ashley?  I admire her confidence and body image in this day and age of body shaming.  But she takes it too far and comes across as mean spirited about it.  When a woman thinks her body is better than the other women, it isn't a good look.  She is very plain in the face and her RBF when watching Gary and Daisy together was not a good look.  It almost came off as creepy and possessive.  Like Rabbit in the pot kind of creepy.

I can see that both Ashley and Tom are going to be the trouble makers. Hey Tom, get a clue. Ashley is just not into you! He is so aggressive in his pursuit of her it's creepy. It's like he's just not used to any girl ever turning him down. And both of them seem like a couple of malcontents. Tom openly griping about the docking seemed so unprofessional and childish. He should have kept his mouth shut then spoken privately to Gary later.

I was prepared to dislike Gabriela but she's really been impressive so far. Hey Rayna: this is how you handle being insulted. You deal with it and you move on and do your job. Good god, can you imagine if this happened to her? She'd spend the rest of the season using it as an excuse to be a bitch.

They really deserved a tip higher than $17K considering all the extra food they guests asked for.

The creepy primary requested it, but Ashley told Tom it was the birthday girl who requested it. I guess she didn't want to freak him out, and yet Tom had no qualms about letting that creep lick whipped cream off his nipple. Yuck.

Besides her inflated opinion of herself looks-wise, she thinks she's as good as anybody at her job, so she may cause some drama with Gabriela.

Daisy needs to make her laundry bitch for the rest of the season.

Marcos puts his nose to the grindstone, just works, without complaints.  No drama on the night out with the crew or in the hot tub.

So far.

As usual, they cast for people who are going to cause drama and they stir it up with booze and hot tub parties.  Is it common in any other type of job where you'd hang out drinking with your co-workers in a hot tub?  Seems like such an artificial situation.  Yes the boat does have a hot tub on board but in other BD seasons, people are at most hanging out on different parts of the boat, smoking, drinking and talking.

Some producer must have gotten the bright idea to make the cast go in their swimsuits and all squeeze into that tiny hot tub, with the water not even clear -- you can get all kinds of rashers and infections from hot tubs.

Some of the cast members look good in swimsuits but these aren't swimsuit models.

Let me tell you this, Kate Chastain was the original Resting Bitch Face Queen, this girl has nothing to have a RBF about!

It seems that every season we get a crew member that feels like they are too good to do the job they have been hired for, they make life miserable for everyone then split just before the charter from hell comes aboard.  Will we be seeing this RBF wannabe jump ship?

Eh, there were plenty of complaints about Kate too. She was probably the funniest one though.

I was intrigued by Marcos' story about working for the president of Venezuela. I'd like to know how he got that job in the first place and why everyone who quits his employ is marked for assassination! I mean, if Marcos is really a "wanted man" then what the heck is he doing on a TV show?

We've seen a lot of this in the last season because of COVID-19 restrictions when they couldn't leave the boat. Might as well hang out in the hot tub, which honestly is the best part! Why hang out anywhere  else?

And just like the unwanted circulars in your letterbox, here are the episode comments for the week…Comments in order of the ep…

Massive props to Gabriela for fending off the guest creep.  The woman has skills.  This obviously isn’t her first rodeo and won’t be the last.  And her words to the creep the next morning?  She is brilliant!  Gabriela rocks!

Unlike other shows like BD, it was interesting to see how most of the crew are bunked together in one space.  Can you imagine the cacophony of snoring?

Tom seems diligent and professional.

The way the charter guests keep shoveling food into their mouths makes me wonder:  Why they didn’t charter a food truck?

So… food truck guy used to cook for the dictator of Venezuela?  How do you leave that off your CV.. or add it… You must have known the job was dangerous when you took it…

Tom – don’t take the bait.  You’re better than that.

This is a sailing yacht, but once again, it’s a massive surprise to everyone that the ship heels to one side.  I can understand that if this were Season 1 – but it’s Season 3.  And did anyone else get the impression that the charter gests don’t give one whit about sailing?  “This ship is leanin’, y’all.”  Please.  It always seems like everyone appreciates it when they STOP sailing.

At the dinner table, the charter guests remind me of cows in the field at the family farm, blindly consuming everything in front of them.  Creepazoid licking the plate is the icing on the cake – which itself would disappear in an instant with this group.  Daisy – “I cannot believe how much they are eating.”

Ashley says to Tom the “Birthday Girl” wants him shirtless, etc.  But in fact it was Creepazoid who asked for that.  And of course Creepazoid licks the whipped cream from his… chestal area…  Ugh.

At the end of the charter, Captain Glenn praised the food truck chef, but let’s face it – as long as the cows could graze, they’d be happy.

Tom: “I’m not immature, I can handle myself.”  Dude, no.  You are not mature.  And don’t waste your time on Ashley.

Superstar of the night – Gabriela, for how she comported herself both on and off duty.

I wondered about that the last season. *shrug* I guess the females think he's got some animal magnetism. Maybe it's the long, lanky, greasy locks which he has trouble managing which get the birds worked up. *another shrug*

The Northerner seems like a good kid -- a bit unnautical and green, but, if he's diligent, will improve. There's no shame in being green (says Kermit). :)

Ashley is very lovely (such beautiful eyes! 😍), but does seem a bit conceited IMO. Knowing Gary he'll likely shag her rotten the first chance he gets.

The guest who was hitting on Gabby was quite a knob. Good thing he apologised the next morning!

I think Daisy's starting to grow on me. She really is quite fetching (for a Dubliner). 😜

I don't understand the point of having a 2nd and 3rd stew.  It just breeds animosity.  Make them both seconds, switch them back and forth on the tasks and tell them your job is whatever is needed at the moment.  I suppose it's to increase the drama, but it's silly.

I don't do any body licking unless I'm intimately involved.  Ewww.

They used the water sports toys once?

Then did that beach picnic, which wasn't any better than if they dined on board.

They chose to drink and eat most of the charter, that's their prerogative.

I've seen large yachts, either in some glamorous port or anchored some distance off the coast.  I'm not the most active person in the world but I think I'd be bored staying on a boat more than a day or two.  You go to some exotic place and staying on a boat more than a couple of days seems like missing other things which make these places special, apart from the coast line.

The dishes they show, the way they described them look all very appealing.  But food is not the highest priority for me when I travel and on these shows, they often have a multi course meal, with drinks before and after dinner.  Again, if you have finite time in these places, that's a lot of time spent on food and drink.

I guess the really wealthy can spend as long as they want in the South of France or wherever and can spend nights in a 5-start hotel, even though they may have a $300 million yacht with luxurious cabins and a top-notch chef.

Not interested in cruises or all-inclusive resorts either.  Eating, drinking, lounging by the pool or on the beach the whole time?  I guess cruise ships have slides, casinos, etc.

But a lot of people love this style of travel so people splurging on private charters are probably trying to re-create the cruise or resort experience, just at supposedly higher level of service and privacy, not sharing a big ship with 1000 people or dealing with getting chaises by the pool or getting their food and drink orders fulfilled fast.

I know, she was glaring at them like a soap opera villain!  The one thing Ashley does not realize is that Gary is not initiating anything with her, it is all one sided with her doing the running after.  I also think that Ashley wants to be the most desirable one on board without actually getting to know any of the guys, she wants them to just fall at her feet and they have not done so.  We have seen this before, first the guys don't pay attention to you, you suck at your job and get coached about how to improve and then it is nothing but complaining about your boss and coworker trying to make them look bad, etc...exits stage left moments before the next nightmare of a charter is about to start but the chief stew and second stew crush that cruise realizing that they didn't need the mal contented stew anyway.

Capt. Glenn seems like he is sailing for his own pleasure and to hell with the guests, like let's do this thing that will trash the boat and knock the guests on their asses, literally.

I would like to see Bravo create a cooking competition with all the chef's from all the Below Deck seasons yacht and otherwise and have Hannah, Kate and Josiah be the judges.

The issue in this episode was that Glenn (or Gary) told Daisy the wind was very light and the boat would not be listing very much. That turned out not to be true so they were taken by surprise. But in other instances they should have expected it and yeah, it seems like they should know better by now to have things locked down. I also agree the guests don't really seem to care one way or another about the sailing. They are rather obviously recruited somehow for these shows and probably don't care whether they wind up on BD, BDM or BDSY.

Totally a bunny boiler! It's awful that she's doing to Gary what the creepy guest did to Gabriella, and Ashley's not drunk off her ass. Gary keeps telling her no, and trying to laugh it off because they all have to work and live together, but she keeps on pushing. It's gross and makes me uncomfy. Her comment to him in the van about him playing the field (after glaring at Gary and Daisy's playful exchange) was so cringe. He's not your boyfriend, Ashley! You literally just met him!

and Yup! You've got the formula down, Betty! She's already snarking about Gabriella showing her the correct way to do things (when Daisy told Gabriella to guide her) and because Ashley did do some things wrong. I just want to yell suck it up and do the work! (Ok I might have yelled that at the tv)

Tom getting that upset because Ashley won't choose him to hook up with -and his earlier comment in his TH about her boobs- is also gross. I hope he doesn't get aggressive with it like Ashley's doing to Gary.

I would eat my weight at every meal and would ask for snacks, too, especially if the food was amazing. Feed me, Seymour! I don't drink, though (meds), and wonder if that's where their big appetites are coming from, besides the sea air? Drunk folks can eat a lot.

I don't understand why the default for the boat isn't having most things already locked down? There would be less to get ready for the heel then. The guests reminded me of Weeble Wobbles with how they kept falling, tipping over, and not seeming to know how to brace themselves. Glad no one got hurt when the table fell and all that glass broke though.

I understand the crew gets to drink the boat's alcohol supplies (all the better for the hookups and drama, my dear!), but I was flabbergasted that they were guzzling (literally) Don Julio 1942.  That stuff is close to $200 per bottle, when you can get it.

As someone who has transited the Atlantic by ship more times than I can count since the age of 5 I feel like I can comment on this.  I take a ship to get somewhere. It is a very nice way to visit interesting locations and have food, a comfortable bed, and my belongings waiting for me if I spend the day in Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, or, anywhere else on the planet.

The type of conspicuous consumption on these shows makes no sense to me. It is so weird to see the guests go to a beach on the mainland that is already being used by tourists for what is billed as a "luxury" picnic. The people on the Below Deck shows have more money to be spending ostentatiously than good sense or basic manners. The ultra wealthy have their own vessels and staff.

Sidenote: I was in Bermuda during the America's Cup races a few years ago. The ultra wealthy who wanted to watch the races aboard their own vessels  arranged to have them shipped over on cargo ships rather than under their own power.

Most of the yahoos on Below Deck equate being difficult, having impossible demands, and being rude with being upper class. I don't think they realize that old money more often than not treat the people that work for them with kindness and respect. There are many instances of the help being named in the will of one of the people they had served for many years.
