'Billionaire' Trump was the President for four years, and initially filled his cabinet (and other top positions)  with his 'billionaire'  and 'millionaires' CEO friends.  How did that turn out for the 'tax codes' ? It made the wealthy even wealthier.  Has Sara forgotten this ? They talked about it for four years on the show.

We had three 'billionaires' running for the Democratic Presidential candidate in 2020, and none of them got far because American voters didn't want them in government. Was Sara not present in 2020 when they all were interviewed by her and her cohorts ? 

I said it before, and I'll say it again - Sara is way out of her league on this show.

I think her statement 'putting billionaires in a room and helping us with our tax codes' is meant as leadership. If there was something else she was getting at, we wouldn't have to get them all in a room together. If she meant helping financially, they could do it on their own - not gather in a room. 

As I said, Sara is a fish out of water on this show. She needs to go to QVC and get excited over reusable straws.

The topic was Billionaires in Space spaace spaaace spaaaace... Sara's wording was awkward, but her point seemed to be that instead of throwing their money at space trips, they could pay their fair share of taxes.

I'd ding her for the wording, if I hadn't also heard my favorite, Joy, say, "Both of them [Bezos & Branson] contribute to climate change," when she was trying to give them credit for trying to fight climate change (i.e. contribute money to causes combating climate change), and if on the topic of the protests in Cuba, I hadn't heard Joy say -- of herself, "This is why I rail against voters' rights in this country," when she meant that she rails against voter suppression.

There's not a woman on this panel now (or in the past) who has always succeeded in making her point. Have you met Whoopi? Bungling one's point is but one of the hazards of hosting a live show.

Did Sara just ask Dr. Bessler about booster shots right after he went into a lengthy answer about booster shots with Meghan's question and covered everything about booster shots ?  😕  It's like she's not particpating in the same show. He repeated his answer to her that he just told Meghan. 

OK - let's say that she's reading her questions off of index cards, written for her before the interview. Are the writers setting her up to look stupid ?

I'll go by her wording - she was very clear in what she said. She mentioned nothing about paying fair share of taxes (that's a stretch to try to understand it that way), she said clearly 'putting them in a room together and helping us with our tax codes'.  She apparently missed the past four years. 

I'm sure if she meant 'paying their fair share of taxes' she would have said those words at some point. Those aren't difficult words to say.

I’m sooo looking forward to having them in a studio again so they can have a real conversation instead of the boring Q and A format in use for the last 1.25 yrs. 

Poor Valerie B. She’s such a sweet person, I hate that she’s trolled for her weight.

Sara worded her comments awkwardly but I’m sure she meant for the Bezoses of this country to help financially, not politically.

Why is Meg so worked up lately about anti Semitism?  She has always been dismissive of any other repressed and discriminated against community.

It's our tax code that allows companies like Amazon to get away with paying no taxes. I believe that's what Sara was trying to articulate, just like I believe Joy Behar doesn't actually "rail against voters' rights in this country."

McCain's last three weeks were bound to be. They're not going to let her bait them anymore now they know it's just a waiting game until she's gone. It's too bad the next season always begins in September, because I'd rather have this month off. I'm very excited for the show to move on to the next phase!

Anyway, Ana being there Monday must be ABC testing her for next season. She was inexplicably there every Monday for the month before McCain's announcement, that was the first sign something was changing. I wonder, with Sunny off today, if they might have Ana on every day this week now the cat's out of the bag, with one of Joy, Sunny, and Sara off to give her time to receive more viewer feedback before next season's contracts are signed.

I think there was an article a year or two back that said the only reason she wasn't full-time already was because McCain threatened to resign; they were still in the studio at that time, it was after Abby exited midseason. I think it's within the realm of possibility. I'm not sure why else she would be there more often if that wasn't an idea they're entertaining. I guess it could be that they're simply considering upping her to two days a week instead of one?

I can cope with more extreme politically - as long as that doesn't mean ruder, nastier and more selfish.  If ABC wants to promote an even more negative image of conservatives for their viewing audience I guess it's possible they would go this route.

Sara is just wrong for The View.  I think she's been "sheltered" by the producers since they've been remote. Clearly she is reading from a teleprompter/notes on the table and sometimes ties herself up in a pretzel.

It is much different back in the studio when they have to sit around a table and talk. She often use to just look back and forth between Whoppi and Meghan.

I don't dislike her as a person, but she should stick with games shows and the latest shampoos.

I think it's more likely about going after Democrats, like every other opinion she expresses, not because of any genuine concern. The same reason she went on and on about socialism this morning. I think it's because noted member of The Squad Ilhan Omar said something that could be construed as anti-Semitic, and Meghan always has to show her opposition to The Squad. I don't remember her discussing anti-Semitism much before that.

I agree, Sara is a perfect addition to the show and she's much less predictable than the rest. Besides, I've always felt a successful panel on this show can't be made up of five heavyhitters, that would be overwhelming to the viewers for everyone to be overly passionate about their opinions. Sara is more of a glue panelist who brings the others together and helps to dial down the temperature, imo, which was sort of Sherri Shepherd's job back when. Sara's much better at it than Sherri was, too, imo.

It's a republican talking point.   They are trying to paint the left as anti-semitic to counter the racism/sexism often associated with the right.  There's been a ton of Hitler comparisons made by the far right here lately towards the democratic party.    I'd bet the rally she attended has occurred every year before this one.  But this is her first time attending?.....    It is not all coincidence.

You mentioned "ABC’s fact checking process" as if that matters on The View. Whoopi doesn't know how insurance works, and Meghan habitually equates socialism with autocracy as if the Scandinavian countries don't exist.

I agree. She's so out of her league in serious discussions on this panel. I can't believe no one picked up on that ridiculous comment about billionaires helping us with our tax code - if it were MeAgain saying that, the other four would've been all over her. I guess with Sara, they choose to ignore her - let her just fade off into the sunset. Her talent is limited to working the garage sale with Gretchen on 'View Your Deal'. Anything else, she's way out of bounds. 

Wonder why everyone got to comment on Valerie Bertinelli's response to weight loss EXCEPT McCain ? The other four talked about their weight issues and what worked and didn't work for them.  When they cut to McCain, she talked about what she did this weekend. I guess she told them in the morning meeting 'don't you dare include me in the weight loss conversation' ?

I don't agree with that.  Sara may not be a Rhodes Scholar but she does have a degree in government.   So she said something that didn't make sense.  So what? She wasn't the first cohost to do that and she won't be the last.  She seems like a genuinely nice person and doesn't spend her time on the View denigrating an entire political party she doesn't agree with.  At least when she speaks she isn't deliberately telling viewers things that aren't true.

I was surprised that Joy didn't correct MeAgain, since she followed her in that segment. MeAgain also said asinine and stupid to espouse socialism.  Although this article quotes her saying "asininely stupid" which is pretty funny. In any case, I think Joy would normally have had something to say about that but she didn't.

MeAgain commented on Twitter over the weekend regarding Valerie's weight loss post.  Of course, as usual, she made her response all about herself and how she weighs the most she's ever weighed and she knows how Valerie is feeling.  Most of the comments were not kind to MeAgain, not about her weight but pointing out that she made Valerie's post all about herself.

They made it so obvious that she wasn't participating in the conversation. Makes one wonder if it was by her choice or if they had no interest in her opinion - maybe it should have been acknowledged that she had Tweeted about this earlier ?  It wasn't handled properly.

It was awkward, for sure. I would speculate that she declined to comment on the topic because she had hurt feelings from all the nasty people on Twitter. She revels in her new role as a self-proclaimed Zionist. She gets lots of praise on Twitter for that and probably didn't want her weight issues get all of the attention.
