I agree with the show focusing on Allie - a new character, someone who could maybe be the one to invigorate Jack. Lord knows, nothing else has.

And. The reintroduction of Diane? There might be an entire chunk of the viewing audience who has no idea who she is/was. Nor do they care. And I think I can speak for us all - we are sick to death of Victoria and Ashland. It is beyond creepy how Victor seems to adore/worship her. He should take a page from Cher to Nicholas Cage in Moonstruck. Snap his fingers in Vick’s face and yell “Snap out of it” with a booming “Okay!” at the end. Have one of his minions remove her from the office and take her home. With another booming “And don’t come back until you straighten yourself out. Your mother and I are embarrassed.”

nuNoah is always sad looking. Between the actor and character itself he’s kind of depressing. I wish they’d bring back Robert Adamson back to the role. Though they never gave him much to do he was such a happier character. Also, I think Josh Morrow was really close friends with Robert Adamson. In fact, Josh Morrow has been close friends with all the “kids” who have played Nick’s kids.

Kyle Jenkins Abbott was named Christian Victor Newman when he was born.  What is the other Christian Newman's middle name?  He has been "upstairs" or at a friend's house for a couple of years, so I cannot remember what he looks like or how old he is. 

Nick Newman slept with Dianejenkins in 2010; you'd think he'd remember that she called her son Christian Newman before naming another kid Christian Newman. If he is SORASed they could do a SL where Christian Newman the younger steals Christian Newman's (Kyle's) original birth certificate, gets legal-age ID and goes on a binge.

So they're doing the same mystery crap they did with Kyle/Theo (What happened in NY?) and Adam/Chance (What happened in Las Vegas?), Noah (The lost love that ended badly) and Ashland's secrets (He stole his friend's identity and then stole money from an old lady's cats) which amounted to a whole lot of nothing. The sadistic part of me wishes Theo was still on the show to either needle Kyle re Diane and possibly bed her or once again drop a bomb on Kyle with the real deal on why Diane is back and what she wants from Kyle.  Theo returning to town just to mess up Kyle's life even more are guests appearances I can get behind.

They never  do "mystery" well since they keep dragging it out so that we don't give a tinker's dam. Chance's absence and Abby's search for him had me just wishing they'd both be killed off ASAP to put an end to the stupid story.  Is that any way to keep fans watching or cultivate new ones?

This whole thing with Diane just seems weird on the optics so far.  From what I've seen/read, most of what Diane did are like generic bad deeds, at least by GC standards.  It's kind of hard to see her as the most disgusting person in town when, a) Victor/Phyllis/Ashland exist, and b) they haven't even shown her doing much scheming or anything as of yet.  

I was thinking exactly the same thing.  Diane is a piker next to Phyllis.  Considering Phyllis' countless betrayals, many of them very recent, you'd think Jack would be keeping a healthy distance from her.  Yet he's forgiven her everything, even her sordid affair with his brother (years after her sordid affair with his former stepson) and her careless reign of terror at the helm of Jabot, when she nearly bankrupted his sainted father's company.  That alone should have earned her even a fraction of the scorn he's reserved for Diane.    

Faking her death and abandoning her young son were definitely shitty moves, but Diane has implied that she'd had some kind of emotional breakdown and has since had therapy to get her life back on track.  Maybe she's lying, maybe she isn't.  Why doesn't she get the benefit of the doubt that Phyllis or Billy or Dina got?

Was that FrankenKyle or Tinny-voiced Kyle?  I remember Phyllis actively trying to seduce FrankenKyle on a ladder to try to divert his eyes from Summer when she thought he might be Summer's brother.  Crikey, when you stop and think about it all, Phyllis is such a spaz.

Where does Rodan the Yenta get off passing judgement on anything or anybody especially Diane. For shits and giggles I read Rodan the Yenta’s bio and Diane Jenkins bio. It amazes me that the list of crimes committed by Diane pales in comparison to Rodan the Yenta’s list of crimes. Rodan’s the Yenta is only saved from complete condemnation by the fact she’s Summer’s mother.  Beside, Rodan the Yenta has been the protagonist in many many more situations than Diane. I’m quite sure that Rodan the Yenta has created the most chaos of any other Y&R character. 

When was the last time Rodan the Yenta though about anyone but herself?  Even with Jack, Rodan the Yenta doesn’t give 💩💩 about how Jack feels about the situation when he has the smallest doubt about Diane.  Her feelings are paramount. Now Rodan the Yenta wants Summer to dissuade Kyle from a possible relationship with his mother because Rodan the Yenta disapproves without giving 💩💩 about what Kyle wants. I’m sure MS is a fine woman but she looks like shit and acts like shit in maniac mode. Even her cleavage can’t distract from her god awful acting. 

Right or wrong about leaving Kyle, Diana had a pretty good excuse for why she did.  Kyle either forgives or not forgives us his decision and his decision alone.  Everyone else’s opinion is based on their biases.

Jack had to backpedal so hard with Phyllis re Diane today that he was about to break a hip.  Forgetting about the atrocious way Phyllis has treated Jack over the years and remembering the destruction Diane wrought on the Phack marriage when she used Kyle to try to come between them, I could almost sympathize with Phyllis and her anger and panic that Jack was not keeping his foot on Diane's neck. She was showing a shadow of that same vulnerability that Diane brought out in her back in the day. But then when Jack lays out why he's opened that door a crack - Dina - Phyllis goes overboard in slamming it shut and then continues to now show a speck of self-awareness when Jack notes that many people would think Phyllis hasn't changed or evolved.  I'll agree that Phyllis hasn't faked her death (even Sharon has her beat on that one) but Phyllis is no angel or pussycat and for her to act like plenty of people have reason to hate her guts and never give her a second glance just makes her look delusional -which she pretty much is. This is a woman who made her son raise his rapist's baby, who ran over Paul and Christine, who killed Sasha, who cheated on Jack with his own brother, who betrayed Sharon, Victor, and Nikki to save her own skin in the JT murder fiasco. Phyllis may have lately used her forces more for good-ish but Christine rightfully still has her number. They tried to sanitize her by pairing her with Nick and making her a Newman and giving her Summer but at the end of the day, Phyllis is no better than Diane. And frankly, Diane was a pain in the ass but I never saw her as this relentless villain that needed to be put down.  Her 'victim's gave as good she paid back to them and her biggest sin to me was abandoning Kyle.

I hate Phyllis in this storyline. Yes there is history but Jack should be handling it without her stupid input.

After watching today’s episode I can safely say that Phyllis is one of the most repulsive creatures on my screen...For her to sit there in judgment and act as though she is an angel who never did anything wrong is hysterical...:She acts like she is Jack’s caretaker and honestly Jack has gone down 10 pegs in my eyes because of this storyline....

It also doesn’t help that Phyllis was sitting there with her stringy hair in her eyes and that ugly purple dress with her boobs hanging out and not even in a sexy way ... they were just huge and in your face and that was completely unnecessary

....what a useless, unlikable and unattractive character especially on the inside...There is not one character or even actor for that matter that I enjoy less than Phyllis....

For me,  she sucks the joy out of any scene she is in with her constant braying and judgments and oh my God let me stop

I am totally with you. I DVR, then I have zero energy to watch. There is no deep backstory established as to why the characters behave the way they do in the present. If an interesting storyline starts, I know it will just wither away...Dominic bone marrow, Ashland receiving some sort of retribution for his sociopathic ways. I sometimes suspect the MWT's have ADHD. This show forfeited coherency a long, long time ago.

I’ve been deleting episodes from the dvr without watching them if I see Phyllis is in the description. There is nothing enjoyable about the character. She has no humorous scenes. No touching scenes. All of her scenes are her lecturing or criticizing woman who are less horrid than her in those ugly dresses. Her scenes with Amanda, are boring and dull.

I have such low expectations for Phyllis that I didn't think she could surprise me anymore, and wow was that wrong.  What a bizarre ass, disturbing tantrum from her today.   

In a way, as some of you already mentioned, I get why's doing it.  She thinks (well, knows) she's got Jack locked up and it's a danger sign for her if Jack shows any empathy for Diane.   But still, grow up.  She's pretty much all the things she ranted about Diane being today, so she told on herself, and surprise! She's still a monstrously selfish and ignorant person.

Whatever about the "Summer gonna get Diane" thing...please.  Yeah, Summer's such an intimidating presence. Phyllis will fight her battles for her like always, but hopefully not bc I never want to see Summer again.

With the exception of reversing himself once Phyll      really got heated- and granted, that was a huge disappointment- I thought today was one of Jack's better ones.  He seemed level headed and compassionate without being completely Aunt Jack.  

Creepy Victor waiting around in Diane's room.  He probably spent the time thinking of all the phony boxing fantasies he has that he could pass off to the kid.

Well, I know I'd like it if Diane went back to California and stayed there or at least never came back to GC. But who believes she'll really stay gone? I'm wondering why ButtBiscuit isn't all over telling the truth to the public about, well everything going on now, but I'm just grateful not to have to endure his quest to tattletale on all the idiots who always forgive him. I liked Lily's moment of clarity re ButtBiscuit's actions towards mop. Nothing new, and I think they've had that conversation before, but this time could it be the beginning of the end for them? Or does she need to remain as his babysitter to keep her job running Jill's company?

From the sublime, Adam and Sally, to the mundane of Olive and Nostrils. With Olive’s hair pulled back, the sweater she is wearing, and the way she is walking Olive reminds me of Ruth Buzzi, from “Laugh In”, when she was playing the old lady on the park bench.  Nostrils’ hair looked extra grease today as does his face. 

I really love Mariah but that color dress and the boots she is wearing detracts from her beauty.  I’m not going to comment on what Mariah said to Kyle other than I think she was wrong and supported any decision that Kyle was going to make. 

I wasn’t watching when Diane was around when I started watching Y&R but I’m starting to like her a lot. A hell of a lot more than Rodan the Yenta. Diane is not afraid of Victor so I can see where standing up for herself will make her venomous in the eyes of the GC elite. So once again it’s affirmed that with Kyle being considered part of the Newman fold because of Summer, than Rodan the Yenta is also part of the inner circle.  

Possibly I was wrong because Diane took Victor’s threat seriously and is leaving town.  

Thought I don’t usually believe in abandoning children, I have a major question. By Diane abandoning Kyle, even in making him believe that she is dead, can it be that Kyle was much better being brought up without her?  The parents, in GC, who raised their kids didn’t do one hell of a job either. Rodan fucked up Summer royally and Victor fucked up all his children. Potentially kids being fucked up by their parents are Connor, Katie, Johnny, Christen, and Bowie.  All and all Kyle may be the least fucked up being raised by Jack alone.

Victoria is sporting her feral look this week … all eyes and teeth. Looking like a cross between wolf/Red Riding Hood/yenta. I could do without both Nicki and Victoria. Especially Nicki. And Victor for playacting at menace. I would bet that if he tried, Adam could chew all of them up and spit them out.

Diane is just more watchable for me than Phyllis or Nikki. Her calm countenance delivering zingers seems more impactful than the people all running around her huffing and bluffing. If "revenge is best served cold" Diane could be the personification of it. As for Victor being "as quick as ever",  I haven't seen him in anything but mostly a prone position for weeks. I do not feel any menace from him. Again with the belts...is the show stylist color blind? Mariah's taupe and rust colored patterned dress with a red and black striped belt? Uh, no  Caped Victoria looks like a Norland Nanny that got beat up by her young charges. As for her affect not matching her emotions, a lot of it is due to the continued poor production values in her dubbing. She is not the only actor on this show that is suffering from  ineptitude. Are we the only ones that still remember that Billy was victimized by Ashland's and Victor's "scorch the earth" plan to sanitize/neutralize Ashland's reputation? This is another one of the gaping holes the MWT's have just asked the viewers to disregard. Do they have memory impairment, or think the viewers do, or do they just not care? If the answer is they don't care, then don't expect this viewer to.

The thing with nooners is the excitement of doing something sneaky and outside of your ordinary routine. Adam and Sally seem to have them several times a week now. The thrill will soon be gone I think. But at least they've gotten away from office furniture sex.

Wait, what? I thought Devon was the designated wedding officiant now. I'm okay with Mariah asking Kyle to serve though. And Harrison can be ring bearer again.

I'm glad Kyle decided to confide in Mariah about Diane. Mariah is the type of friend who'll start taking off her earrings and shoes and get ready to throw hands if she runs into Diane again.

I know Diane is supposed to be the ultimate villainess; but right now her clothes, hair and makeup are the classiest of the women on the show.  Low bar, I know. It is obvious that the show can actually style a woman over 50.  They just choose not to.

I know EB can't have Victor not get the last word, but what a weird parting threat to Diane.  "You know me and I'm capable of doing a lot more than sneaking in your hotel room"?  Like what, is he gonna break into the house in LA, and wait on the coach in a tiger thong?

Getting sick overall of the Newmans/Abbotts being the constant protagonists against evil outsiders like Sally and Diane who aren't nearly as malevolent as members of the above families.  

Was Mariah wearing a Gucci belt today?  I think she was a bit too harsh, but was happy to see her and Kyle interact.  As much as I especially like these two, seeing Kyle at all without Summer already makes him look a lot better imo.

Susan Walters has a beautiful figure and it shows in that sheath dress she is wearing.  Her hair is a classic style finishing the look.  I am ready for her to change her clothes though since arriving in GC!

I made a comment a while back that SW had clearly made the choice women of a certain age have to make. IMO she's a bit too thin but I do love her overall look. You usually can't go wrong with simple, classic elegance. That's probably part of the reason why Phyllis is losing her mind over Diane. Phyllis has leaned hard into the MILF (or GILF, heh heh) thing with her bodycon dresses and lots of bare skin. Now she's seeing that it's not really working anymore and Diane's style fits more with Jack's TBH.

Remember a few months ago, when Victoria was gleefully plotting with Ashland to set up Adam to be ousted from Newman Media? She is such a conceited bitch. From DAY ONE, she treated Adam like trash (he later earned that, of course), but good grief, she is so insufferable. She continues to treat Billy like he is sub-human, telling him that he is just waiting to say "I told you so"? (He wasn't, not like she wouldn't throw anything in HIS face.) Billy is not my favorite human either, but he is actually human. She is a conniving, egotistical creature, and I would love to see her go after a man who sees her for that and wants none of her business.  It's sad, but there are so few characters to root for on this show. Many of the "protagonists" are such hypocrites, we hate them more than the antagonists. End rant.

I keep trying to think of Nikki’s qualifications to be CoCEO of NE. Of course, I kept trying to think of her qualifications to be COO of NE. I guess all of those stripper years and piano lessons added up to multiple degrees/years of experience. This show is just too stupid for words.

While the show is too stupid for words, Nikki was CEO at Jabot and we saw her working hard in the boardroom for years. And she and Phylthy had a chain of spas. Plus all her charity work - administrative, not working in a soup kitchen. She may be one of the few qualified persons in GC.
