i wonder if that's an American thing?

It's probably an American thing (speaking as an American). I just today got the results of my CT scan in my patient portal, and I likely won't hear an interpretation from my oncologist until at least tonight. I can get the gist of the results from reading it, since they're measuring tumors and spots and they say what has changed since the last scan, but I need her to tell me stuff that doesn't google into plain English definitions. And she puts in all into perspective for me, which is what I really need to know.

We're Canadian and I've NEVER had my results or anything given to me over the phone except during the Lockdown  (and it was still just more "okay you don't  have cancer so relax).

No it’s not. When my biopsy came back positive for cancer, my surgeon had made sure that I made an appointment to see her to discuss the results whatever they would be. She revealed the results and what my options were. That lumpectomy wasn’t an option due to the location. She was empathetic, kind. And in that same appointment called the plastic surgeon she worked with (the drainage tubes had to be put in place) and I was able to see him the same day.

It’s pure laziness and not giving a damn if they’re being even a little bit realistic since Labine left. Under her, Stone’s AIDS story was done with reality and respect, as was Monica’s breast cancer story line. Even under Guza, Alexis’ chemotherapy was done well-though it did give us Jar-Jar Binks-he provided her with the marijuana to help with the side effects.

It is realistic Chase got his results over the phone, assuming they went through a patient portal. The show isn't going to have him say to Willow, "Oh, I got a message my tests are back; give me a minute to log into my portal and find the results." It's reasonable (to me) he showed them to her and she read them, but of course he needs to talk to his doctor for details, and there was a line that said his doctor had been trying to reach him.

While that scene might not have been literally accurate, the gist of it was, IMO.

A lot of patient portals have a caveat that test/lab results are posted before a doctor has seen them, so the patient reads them at their own risk.

OMG, Tracy was unbearable today. So much so that when she screamed about a mouse, I thought she had been drugged.

I hope Sasha quits and wish she would have something more fun to look forward to than Jason, redux 2.0.

I enjoyed Anna with Felicia and Emma and wish the show would allow her more light and fun moments, sans Valentin.

Hated the ending.

What's the point of making someone a drink that they don't like? Tracy might have been too imperious in telling Sasha to remake it, but it's not wrong to want her Manhattan the way she wants it.

"God knows what we're going to do with the adulteress in the gatehouse." Really, Show? Tracy deserves so much better than this crap. Why are they writing her as such an unpleasant person? Ugh.

Olivia, SHUT UP ABOUT BABIES. I did have to laugh that she's all excited for the pitter-patter of little feet when she's running a daycare the way it is.

If a man is dreaming about Carly, he needs a new dream.

Yeesh! Lois, we have no idea who BLQ's child is because you don't look guilty every time they walk into a room. I feel like I'm watching a cartoon. The next thing, she'll start biting her nails furiously and we'll see them flying every which way.

It feels like the conversation in the church between Sasha and Tracy never happened. What happened to respect? Is this really the way Tracy treats the "help?" And this treatment of Sasha really grates because they worked together at Deception and Tracy didn't mind Sasha. She even went to bat for her. So this comportment is just really OOC for me.

Color me shocked that Valentin popped up to kill Brennan. At this point, unless Brenna is playing Carly, I just don't care how much I like him. He can die.

Emma's return is a total dud. Why did they bring her back if they had nothing in mind for her?

I don't care that Chase's swimmers are drowning. Honestly. Can we go one minute without a character uttering the words baby or pregnancy?

Oh, great! ShrewLu's back tomorrow.

Does it not occur to Trina or Porsche to refer Kai to the surgeon who miraculously cured Curtis of his paralysis?

I hate the David Byrne XL size trench coat look that Emma and Kristina have been sporting. Is that a thing?

Oh Carly, of course you think Brennan is a good guy, as you do any man who takes your orders, puts you first and treats you like a princess. Do I need to bring up you twirling with Drew on the sea cliffs? I really, really hope Brennan is playing her.

When I use MyChart, it sends me a text message which opens the app and I can open the pdf file in seconds, so that scene seemed fine to me. ** Especially compared to the other legal, medical and geographical nonsense they inflict on us.

Today felt like a Friday, with the reveals. But sheesh, talk about the most painful way to get there. Someone needs to tell Tracy that Sasha is not the housekeeper or a maid. When I like Portia more in an episode, there's something wrong. 🙂

** tbf, sometimes doctors don't allow test results to be visible until they review them, others are automatically available. So I can see how that might seem unrealistic to some.

They did this Gio thing very weirdly. Neither Lois or Brook Lynn should have known him. Now Brook Lynn seems like a dumb ass for not guessing and Lois seems like a jerk for not saying anything even when he is the house with his family for almost a year.

Chase should have ran into Kai's room screaming "at least your sperm works!!"

Ned sounds stupid. Can someone besides Tracy hold Willow responsible for cheating? And while Tracy is acting ridiculous a lot of the time people also seem to act like she's being mean for the normal requests as well, like re-making something when she gets it wrong.

Valentin! That was a decent surprise.

To be fair, the results in question are for a sperm count. I had routine fertility screening and this is exactly how I received the results, so the portrayal is actually on the fairly accurate side.

Does Gio know he was adopted? The way he's talked about his parents says no to me, but...? If he doesn't know, it'll be quite the double whammy to find it all out in one swell foop.

I think they do, but Tracy is so over the top with how she's treating Willow. I'm surprised she isn't demanding Willow don the scarlet A for all to see. What I don't understand is why Drew isn't getting more contempt from everyone.

Ned sounds like the voice of reason imo. If I had a family member going through a messy breakup, I'd stay out of it unless the kids were in real danger. Michael and Willow were actually kind of behaving like adults until everyone else jumped into the fray. (Starting with Nina, which pains me to say. Not that she ended up being wrong.)

Tracy has been written as a one note shrew with Sasha. That's a side of Tracy’s character I liked them leaving behind and I don't welcome it back.

JPS is in the credits so I figured that Valentin is headed back.

They really need to give Brennan something else to do because I had to fast forward his scenes today, he's so hungry for Carly. As @CeChase said, it's pure fantasy for Carly fans. I think I'm rooting for Valentin now although I'm sure this attempt will fail.

According to my research, bourbon is served with either lemon or orange so cool your jets, Tracy.

Sasha is what, one month pregnant?  You can still climb on a ladder with no problem, girl.

I wonder if Chase had measles as a child and that's why he's infertile. An ordinary storyline in 2015 but a risky one in 2025.

I use MyChart too. The difference between the US and Canada seems to be the amount of information a patient can access on their own without a professional there. An ethical discussion.

I know-my follow up comment stated as such-my post was answering @statsgirl and @Daisy’s whether it’s an American thing that doctors/surgeons don’t meet with patients to discuss in detail results of tests dealing with cancer. Sorry for the confusion with the back and forth.

Sasha should have been fired a long time ago. She called Tracy her employer dramatic, she works for them. Then refuses to do anything asked of her and everyone in that house let's her get away with it.

Brooklyn says good for Sasha talking like that? So Brooklyn should have no issues then if Lulu her new employee spoke to her like that and Tracy says good for Lulu.

Jason figured it out who the daddy is.

Finally Alexis finds out Sam was murdered, hopefully Dante is next to find out.

Except Tracy expects her to do things that are not in her job purview. Sasha is the cook. She is not the maid. She is not the housekeeper. She is not the sommelier. She is not the bartender. She is not the nanny. She is the cook. And Tracy is rude, disrespectful and nasty to her. And this is after Tracy had a discussion with Sasha where Sasha made it clear she would not work there if Tracy did not treat her with respect. Tracy agreed that she would do so.

Tracy has failed on that end.

I was with Tracy right up until the mouse scene.  And I believe that the entirety of that scene is right up there in the hierarchy of worst scenes ever written and filmed.  Tracy and the mouse scream.  Sasha and the pregnancy dump.  Lois, Gio, Brooklyn and Chase with the single-mother look exchanges.  Jason and the forming of Michael-and-Sasha synapses. Just awful.

I enjoyed the light-hearted bits with Felicia and Anna, but this Emma is still not doing it for me.

I’m having a hard time believing Alexis waited that long for her daughter’s autopsy results.

GH surgeons cured Curtis of his paralysis.  Maybe call one of them for Kai.

I don’t like Valentin.

Well I would imagine in a household like that you wear many hats. It's not Pre World War 1 Downton Abbey where there was a clear hierarchy and a lot of different staff for different things. I always assumed that Sasha had to do things like mix drinks and all of that.

I saw one of Tracy v Sasha fights and honestly I thought Tracy was in the right.  Tracy has a standard that Sasha isn't meeting and a lot of people tend to handwave it because it's Poor Little Sasha we love her. (Which is why there should always be a separation of church and state in these matters imo)

So, Brennan has made it through the ranks of the WSB to the position he's in now, and he's letting down his guard in a spa like that with, apparently, no security?  I get that you can't be on alert every single second of the day, but not even looking up to verify the identity of who's walking into the room when he's in a vulnerable position seems a bit careless.

I love the Q's, but that was a shitshow.

Back in the day, the Q's had at least Cook and Alice (the wrestling lady?) and a gardener. Maybe a driver?

Sasha is cooking multiple meals a day for at least 8 adults*, 2 nannies, a couple of teens and a varying number of kids. That's a full-time job. I'm not a fan of employees telling their boss something isn't their job but Tracy acts like it's Sasha's job to be at her beck and call. It's obnoxious.

* Tracy, Ned, Olivia, Lois, BrookLyn, Chase, Dante, Gio, maybe Cody.

I hate when they write Tracy just being mean to be mean. She’s more clever than that. Jane Elliott was unbearable today (and, I’m a big Elliott fan) but sheech. Give it a rest. You either like or hate Sasha. If you hate fire her and move on.

I was a little spoiled that Valentin was gonna come into the spa in the final seconds because he was in the opening credits. When I saw JPS in the opening I was like, Valentin is back already? How come I didn’t hear this?! Why didn’t they just leave him out as he has been for 2 years. Do I have to do everything?! LOL!!! I’m guess it’s a contractual thing but still.

nuEmma wasn’t too bad today and it was nice she was actually interacting with Finola Hughes. She’s got a long way to go but baby steps.

Well, it looks like they are finally getting around to the Gio storyline. Unfortunately, the viewers have known since Day 1 that this was going to happen.

I wanted to see the Lucky & Liz follow up but we can’t have nice things.

Tracy isn't satisfied with anything that Sasha was doing. She asked for several different drinks and complained because she didn't like the garnishes that Sasha added. It's not like Tracy said she wanted a drink with the spefic cherry or orange and Sasha deliberately ignored her wishes. Tracy was just bossing Sasha around and finding fault with whatever Sasha did or didn't do (get the mouse).

Although Tracy lives in that house, she is not the owner (Monica) nor did she hire Sasha (Olivia) nor does she pay Sasha wages (until Michael's injuries he was taking care of the household management and expense for Monica.

None of the people living in the mansion have any issues with Sasha as an employee so this is only a Tracy problem and she how treats the help. It's not like she didn't treat Alice, Reginald or any other Q staff member any better.

LOL. I'm sort of enjoying RS hamming it up here, but it's getting ridiculous that no one has seen her reactions. We've all known for a while that he's BL's sekrit teen-pregnancy baby, so let's get a move on with this.

It's one thing to point out politely that the Manhattan was made wrong, but Tracy goes to Def Con 1 immediately. She's taking her frustrations about everything else out on Sasha, which is wrong. And Sasha was hired as the cook, not the housekeeper. Had Tracy been a little nicer about the drink, Sasha might not have refused to deal with the mouse, which she was totally within her rights to do.

I HATE how they're writing Tracy with this stuff. Poor Jane Elliott, though of course being the pro she is, she goes all in.

No you don't. Until Frank came in, The Quartermaine had Cooks (Cook 1 passed away), Geoffrey the butler, who had a romance going with the SLS's original nanny, I think it was; Alice. They had a STAFF that had different duties/responsibilities.

Ever since Sasha quit Deception and decided she wanted to just cook, they've turned her into cook/maid/butler/andwhateverthefuckelse.

Yesterday just wasn't good.

Sasha acting as if she's in her third trimester, being told to climb three stories in high heels. Ridiculous, the way she blurted out she was pregnant.

And Drew, so sleazlily SURE that Willow will happily leave the gatehouse and move in with his ass.

I really am loving Lucky and Elizabeth sleuthing together! They absolutely should be the A Plot, but I know better considering who is running this FAKAKTA show.

And I'm with @driver18 regarding the "your brother" line. There was nothing off about it.

Yeah, it's unacceptable.  She was hired as the cook, but Tracey is treating her like the maid.  If the Qs are cheaping out on hiring other help, that's not Sasha's problem.

While I would love it if Tracy got the house, it really makes no sense. It wasn’t Edward and Lila’s house—Alan was the first Quartermaine to come to Port Charles and bought the house as a wedding present for Monica in 1977. Lila and Edward joined the show in 1978 and moved in! They’ve all been moochers this entire time! 😂

Tracy was acting unnecessarily mean which seems to be her MO lately (waste of Jane Elliot), but that was a silly way for Sacha’s pregnancy to come out.  Tracy asked her to get up on a ladder, not perform a Cirque de Soliel routine.

Sacha should have told Jason she’s a big ole floozy and was sleeping with lots of people. If there’s one person who won’t judge anyone, even when they deserve it, it’s Jason.

Kai is cute and the actor is decent, but I’m not into it.  This cast is already over full.

i wish we could see more of Lulu acclimating to being back in the land of the living, have her interact with Rocco and the rest of her friends and family.  I think Alexa mixed great with everyone at first and I don’t want to watch her working a boring 9-5 and pining over Charlotte.  This is giving me shades of Drew-Cameron came in strong then they turned him into everyone’s personal self help guru and now a creepy perv.

Yeah, Jason is the most logical family member to inherit the house (assuming Monica is petty enough to write Drew out of her will, and what sort of familial connection she truly feels toward him.)

I must have a heart of stone because I felt nothing for Brooke Lynn, crying that she can't carry Chase's baby and phoning her mother to come home and make her feel better. There are people in worse situations, much worse.

Portia, it took you this long to tell PCPD that you suspect foul play in the deaths? And Dante still didn't know.

Am I supposed to see Martin and Tracy squabbling as sexy and flirtatious? Because all I think is how painful it is and why doesn't Martin leave the salon?

Emma's animal cruelty storyline is a step up from her previous ones. But that sweater --  long sleeves and turtleneck is right for New York weather in winter. The half missing back, not so much.

Brennan and Carly ... blech 🤢

No, in real time she would be 3 months pregnant now. Sasha and Michael had their ONS right before Halloween. Drew confessed the kiss to temp Michael and Michael went off to get drunk in the same episode that Wiley was showing off his Halloween costume. Sam (in hospital bed, pre-op) was also asking Alexis to be sure Dante had enough candy for trick-or-treaters.

I guess Sasha's reaction/confession to Tracy's request can be seen as OTT, but I give her grace because she thought she was fine during her first pregnancy and then was traumatized by her newborn's death. The idea that anything could go wrong with this second pregnancy (or birth) must be terrifying.

Could Sasha really feel the baby move at 3 months pregnant? I rolled my eyes at her scene with Jason and him being there for it, because it just seems like a recycled line from when pregnant Sam lived with Jason, or when Elizabeth secretly let him feel Jake-in-utero kick.

I rolled my eyes at Carly "saving Jack's life" from Valentin and then he's so much better two seconds after being strangled that he shows up at her door to make out with her.

NuEmma's passion for animals and memories of two beloved pets that Robin, Emma, Anna and Robert have never, ever mentioned in Emma's entire life before seems even more like they're making up an entirely new character since the Emma recast. When they lived in Port Charles, Robin, Patrick and Emma never spoke about young Emma's desire for a pet.

DZ did a great job with Dante's shocked/grief-stricken look at the news of Sam being a murder victim. Way to give confidential information to Dante and Lulu in the middle of the hospital where anyone could overhear, Anna! At least she wasn't sobbing?

I also rolled my eyes that BLQ told Lois she's thinking she could get access to the child she gave up for adoption because "it may be my only chance to be a mother to my own biological child." The kid wasn't frozen in time at birth waiting for you, BLQ.

What?!?!  she can  have another biological child - Chase just can't be the biological father.  I think she  needs a quick biology lesson.  Also, she should know that said "child" is 20 or 21 by now, and most definitely not a child anymore.

I know I have a shriveled husk of a heart, and IDGAF either about BL and Chase's fertility issues. There's way, way, way too much emphasis put on babies on this fakakta show. UGH UGH UGH.

I thought this was incredibly gross. As if being a mother to a nonbiological child is somehow less genuine an experience. I don't care that she's reeling from the news she (for now) won't have a child with Chase.

Tracy is the last person I'd expect to be clutching pearls about Sasha's pregnancy and Willow's affair with Drew, but that seems to be who she is now. WTF?

I do not like this Emma. She's oafish in way the child of Robin and Patrick shouldn't be, and she's kind of generally unpleasant, at least right now.

And yet another terrible accent, this time German. What did Europe do to you, Frank, that you're punishing viewers like this? It looked like that guy was wearing thermal underwear as a uniform.

LOL at Carly screaming at Brennan to wake up. She's obviously forgotten every bit of first aid she's ever known.

Lulu might love Rocco, but she doesn't seem to do much parenting of him. Has she thought that maybe she could help him with his grief? I don't think her thoughts of him go past "I have a son...Ricky? Robby? No, his name is Rocco. Phew."

I knew the near-death experience would lead to Carly and Brennan fucking.
