Which is what normal people would do but Nina is so desperate she wants it all RIGHT NOW.  And I can understand that feeling.  She thought her child didn't exist and then to be told that she's alive but dying, her first instinct will be to reach out and hug that child but she can't.  That has to be frustrating and messing with any rational side.  

I'm sure it will turn into a giant mess, but I'm sort of looking forward to Esme working with Alexis.

We already know that Trina had a familial DNA test done through a mail-in ancestor site several years ago. Curtis should go that route, since in PC there's less chance of the sample being tampered with.

Good on Alexis for offering Esme a job. I loved her response when Esme turned her nose up at the idea: do you have a college degree? I hope so many things—that there’s something more interesting than a ‘switch-the-DNA’ storyline coming for Trina, et.al.; that the show will fully embrace its very talented and experienced vets and give them deep, sustained storylines instead of the occasional scene, or even the occasional full day; that we might see the young adults struggle with their identities and their careers, and not the mob; that somebody on the show would remember how to have fun (that doesn’t involve alcohol), or that we could enjoy a celebration without a crisis; that we could have stories with momentum and continuity.  Back in the day, if a show was falling down on the job, there were plenty of others to watch.  Now, not so much. So, instead, I hope.

Robert deserves better than either of them, but of the two, Holly gets my vote, even though I think the character should move on from grifting. Let her go back to Australia. Diane can go back to mob flunkies. Her romance with Max was mainly offscreen; there's no reason Robert and Holly's can't be mostly offscreen, too.

Like the suitcases soap characters pack - they open the suitcase and start throwing in clothes from the bureau drawer - before heading to the airport for "the next flight out of town."

I got the impression that Esme was throwing a temper tantrum and trying to force Laura into asking Spencer to move out. She has to know can’t support herself. Alexis’ job offer was extremely generous and she still initially scoffed at it. Most jobs aren’t going to have a daycare onsite and she isn’t qualified to find something that pays enough to afford rent, daycare and for her baby’s other expenses, nor does she seem particularly hardworking.

If Nikolas is extremely wealthy and can't be found, the courts might seize some of his assets for child support. I have no idea what happened with her trust fund, but it seems odd that that has been deemed a complete non-starter.  And welfare could be of some help if neither of those are a no go. TBH, if I were Esme I would want far away from Spenser also. He has made no secret of wanting to take Ace away from her.

I don't understand this at all.  Yesterday Laura noted she doesn't have access to it, but no one seems to want to help her figure out what's going on, re if/when she CAN get access to it.  And why she doesn't at present time.

She talked about it pre-amnesia and I think she said she wasn’t old enough to access it. But they’ve also been vague about her relationship with her adopted family or lack thereof. I’d assume the first thing she’d want to do is try to reach out to them and they haven’t mentioned it at all unless I missed something.

They really need to do something about thr Carly (and now Esme) problem. She's become beyond insufferable to the point of there goes my blood pressure, fuck this show. You cannot have characters doing horrible, horrific things without a price then sacrificing other characters to prop them up. This is an age of multiple media. There is tv everywhere, there seems to be a new platform everyday. If they continue to prop Carlys, Esmes and Josses as heroes they will not have a show much longer. And FFS rehire Lexi. Idiots!

the thing is.. like you were perfectly okay with your daughter being friends with a mobster's stepdaughter. just because Spencer's involvement had more active drama for the past year and a half it doesn't change the fact simply by being with Joss, Trina could be shot at or whatever at any time  if someone felt that it could hurt sonny if they hurt joss and they were together.  priorities.

Holly's tearful goodbye to Robert left me unmoved since I know that it's because of Samms' schedule and not because of storytelling. I just hope that he doesn't go into Diane's arms now.

Portia's orange eyeshadow is very distracting. Also, listen to Ava and leave Trina to her own relationship with Spencer.

Oh look, Jordan is wearing orange too. I guess it's an aphrodisiac to Curtis.

Fnas yesterday were wondering why Selena would offer to fix the DNA test in whatever direction Curtis wanted.  Well this is the answer.  He's going to want her to fix it so Taggart is the father so he doesn't disrupt the happy family. Question is, will we be told like we were for Cody/Mac.

Oh, Curtis! You self-righteous prick. I don't even blame Jordan for this. This is all on him and he self-righteous moral compass. No one will be shocked if his ass tempers with the DNA test, because he, of course is right in the choices he makes.

Portia needs to butt the hell out of her daughter's business. Haven't you done enough? No lessons learned here? She won't listen to anyone who tells her to stay out of it. So I imagine the relationship with Trina will be imploding in 3-2-1.

Spencer needs to stop having a cow every time Esme says something. Esme's has no real purpose on the show aside from being Ace's mother and a thorn in Spencer's side. 

But Spencer asking Esme if she had worked a day in her life, coming from a guy who was basically forced to work because his free money was cut off . . . these writers do not know how to write self-awareness. A sprinkle of it here and there would go a long way.

I thought the Molly/TJ scenes were well acted. I thought her reaction was realistic and may reflect the feelings of a lot of women who can't carry their own babies but I really don't care about the story. I hope this isn't a rethread of Maxie/Lulu/Dante. Don't want it.

Michael is the Lightbringer, and is super awesome at everything.  Including media, for reasons never demonstrated onscreen.  His main talent is being handed things via nepotism and then acting completely entitled to those things.  He’s also good at sucker punching senior citizens (Like Scott), and having girlfriends die on him.  All while overcoming what appears to be lifelong crippling constipation.

Since Valentin is going back to running ELQ, perhaps Michael can attempt to sucker punch him after an argument.  I would like to see the results.

I can’t agree with that, but I’m biased.  I’ve had a small crush on ES since o was 12 years old.  I still can’t believe that she looks this good 40 years later.

Maybe Esme will meet a decent guy, who will not put up with Spencer’s idiotic plan to take Ace the Giant Baby away from her and put him in his place.  Or maybe Ace will get irked when he gets wind of it and just beat Spencer up himself.

Nina needs some dialogue like this snippet from 2011’s ‘The Help’…

Aibileen Clark: “All you do is scam and lie to get what you want. You a godless woman. Ain't you tired, Ms. Hilly? Ain't you tired?”

Some version of that from Nina, with Carly similarly breaking down, would be good writing.  Which means we will never see it.

Who is Spencer to question Esme on working? Especially when she has amnesia. She wouldn't remember anyways. Spencer reaction to Esme is looking verbally abusive since she's got amnesia. 

Jordan finally got what she wanted. She has been spending more time in Portia's business wanting Curtis for year.

St. Curtis who has been lying to Portia about a mob partner can now add cheating to the list. 

So Holly is trying to help her son they put her in crime to force Robert to choose a mob lawyer? Not interested in Diane with Robert. 

At least Alexis was invited to the funeral, not sure why Sam was. Shouldn't Ace be?
