Was this Janey woman married to Scott’s brother? And who was that attorney who was all about Scott’s innocence? Scott was guilty as sin. Innocent people don’t die their hair, drive to the border with Mexico (or within 30 miles of it), have thousands of dollars in cash in their duffel bag and 12 viagra pills in there too. Yeah, sure Scott. That’s what all innocent husbands do when their pregnant wives are brutally murdered and thrown in the bay. Piece of shit.

This episode is on my DVR but I couldn't bring myself to watch it. The jury got it right: Scott is guilty. Now on to the petty stuff...12 viagra pills? What a POS.

I turned into the end waiting for Judge Judy. I was shocked there were that many brain dead audience members who raised their hands to say he needed a new trial!

I missed Judge Judy? It is always interesting to hear what she has to say about real life events (and not the crazies that she has on her show).

And I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but I LIKE Nancy Grace.

I like Nancy Grace too but she can really bring the fake emotions and tears. Her over-the-top reaction is ridiculous and she has been married long enough now that she can stop talking about her former fiance.

"Southern Accent".  Kind of, sort of.  Not sure what she's shooting for.  Like Paula Dean.  Just stop.  Please Stop!  Those of us in the south implore you.  Please stop.

Educated Southern people just don't sound that way.

AND... while I'm at it.  STFU Phil with your worn out homilies.  Even old Texans sitting on the porch don't talk like you.

Has it ever been determined if the guests are sometimes actors? Because some of the behaviors they show are over the top (ie the drunk young parents from yesterday’s show). I’ve seen plenty of drunk people but these two were moaning and flailing around like the living dead.

Those two need to be in a locked rehab for an extended period.  They are so far gone, they cannot do it themselves.

How would those two alcoholics ever be able to maintain custody of those kids after THAT???  I didn't finish the episode, but I assume Shil gave his patented "I'm a mandated reporter!" speech, and I hope the grandparents gained custody of the little girl.  For Godsake, even a temporary foster care placement would be better than having that poor child live with chaos and uncertainty and danger 24/7.

I don't have too much faith in Shil's therapy or his Friends of Phil recovery spas, so a 30-day stay in Malibu or whatever beach is going to straighten those losers out.  They need separate lock down facilities and months/years of continued supervision & support.  Which leads me to ask; who is following up and keeping tabs on how these people make out after the show? I'm pretty sure once the cameras stop rolling, Shil's wallet snaps shut, so how do severely damaged addicts get the real help they need once their "gift" from Phil runs out?  I think the reason we never see follow up shows is because there are very few if any success stories to report on past guests.  Without the will do get better, and constant support, therapy and contact with  qualified professionals, addiction is very tough to hand wave and make better with a 3 week stay in a 5 star hotel like facility.

Did I hear wrong or did Dr. Phil say that he didn't believe her father 's claim about her speaking in tongues because "Pocahontas didn't do that from what I've read about her", yet he doesn't believe that she is the reincarnation of Pocahontas?

Also, she seemed pretty happy that she would be going to Malibu to get help, like she was thinking "yes, my lie paid off!"

Monday's show? Also screams "fake!"

Why would he reward her with free help that could be going to someone who could really use help? Free commercial for the rehab facility while Phil tried to make it look as though he’s being philanthropic. Lol PHILanrhropic.

I enjoyed his interview with Kathy Bates.  She seems like a genuinely nice person.

Phil could do some redeeming with more stories like the second one in today's episode with the fire chief.  That was heartbreaking & inspiring at the same time.

When Pocahontas got all excited about her vacation at the beach, Phil should have said, "Your reaction shows me that there's  nothing wrong with you other than you're an entitled, spoiled brat.  I am hereby rescinding the offer to send you for help that you don't need . . . and I further advise your parents to put you out on the street so you can be a strong woman and make your own way . . . kind of like Pocahontas."

I was appalled that he would have that entitled snowflake on the same show as the real heroes of the Paradise fire.  Unbelievable.

1/7: I Believe I'm Being Electronically Harassed and Tricked Into Seeing Aliens!

Debbie sees aliens and other apparitions in and around her home; her husband does not believe her and says it is hurting their marriage.

1/8: Teenage Brides and Horrific Abuse: Escaping the Secret Life of Polygamy

Dr. Phil speaks with two former Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints members: Marilyn claims her sexual abuse began at age 4; Ian says his uncle, Warren Jeffs, told him, as a little boy, he'd burn in hell if he didn't obey.

1/9: A Secret Revealed; My Sister-in-Law Is a Danger to Her Son

Chad allows his wife to be alone with their infant son after she overdosed while she was pregnant, caused the baby to be born addicted, and is accused of having been under the influence of heroin when she crashed her SUV with the baby in the vehicle.

1/10: Tales of Deception and Terror: Virtual Kidnapping; A Deadly Love Scam, Deceit and Dirty John

Parents Andy and Bridget received a call from a scammer who claimed he was holding their daughter hostage for ransom; Debra, the real woman behind the podcast and Bravo series "Dirty John," tells of meeting a dangerous criminal online. [Any bet Dr. Phil'll mention his own podcast?]

1/11: My Lazy Son Has No Empathy for My Cancer; My Mom Acts Like My Sister and Not My Mother

Vera, who has stage 4 cancer, worries that her lazy adult son, Michael, will end up homeless after she passes away; Isaac says his mother, Christina, has told him multiple times that he ruined her life.

I respectfully disagree.  My first thought went to President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Roslynn.  Both extremely educated.  Both with thick Southern accents.  The list goes on and on but I think this demonstrates that some Southern people do have an accent.  Born in Kentuccky and living now Tennessee, I love the way we talk.  With some exceptions!  Also, there's nothing worse than a fake Southern accent.

Just finished the Pocahontas wanna-be episode.  Dr. Phil missed a really good point he could have made.  This is an accurate depiction of Pocohahontas' appearance.  I doubt she would have picked Poco had she seen this.  I learned a lot about Pocohantas from this episode.  What we learned in school is mostly a romanticized version of our history, much like Columbus discovering America.

This dipstick pointed to a drawing of Pocahontas and pointed out the physical similarities between the drawing and herself (i.e., collarbone) as proof she's P's reincarnation.  She also saw nothing wrong with going to work in her makeup (war paint).  She wasn't worth a whole show.

$hil's getting worse.

She really could not grasp why an employer would be disturbed at her war paint.  The real Pocahontas was not a warrior.  Did she believe all Indians were always on the warpath??  Too much watching Wagon Train and John Wayne movies.  What an idiot.

Oh FFS, now Schill is bragging about ALL the work he did trying to help the women of FLDS. (Long before the Feds, of course)

He's had about 5 stated occupations all while being in the middle of every publicized injustice in the Western hemisphere. AND the BFF of every A list celeb since Lionel Barrymore

I wish someone would get ahold of his big stupid board and make a "timeline" of all his "accomplishments".  Dude would have to be 140+ years old to do everything he's claimed.

But yet, yesterday he spends an hour with a tin foil hat wearing goofball.

I think I keep watching so I can see the moment he breaks his arm while patting himself on the back.

Between FLDS and Scientology, it really is shameful that so many children are abused and exploited in the name of religion in this country.  I've pretty much gotten to the point where I tune out Phil's grandstanding but I do applaud the people who are helping these FLDS children get out and create new lives for themselves.

Regarding the show where the woman was claiming to be electronically targeted by - aliens or some evil power - I must admit that I think this is what Dr. Phil does best.  He was able to help this woman to see that what she was experiencing was not logical and more likely coming from an internal imbalance rather than external unknown forces.  And he did this all while being respectful and giving her hope that this could be resolved so that she could live a more normal life.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled snarking, lol!

That is one of the reasons I get so frustrated with Phil. He can be helpful and accurately assess people and their problems. But way too often he lets personal biases and emotions (mostly towards mothers) get in the way of being useful.

No, I think that was real. Those two were totally out of their minds. Made me sick that they thought they were “great” parents.

I don't know, I've watched a lot of Intervention and other drug documentaries and stuff and it really seemed like they were chewing the scenery. They probably did actually have an alcohol problem but it seemed like maybe they were overacting for the cameras to get free rehab or something. When the lady was talking to the cameras while drunk something about it just seemed like insincere bad acting to me for some reason. And as for the guy, he was acting more like one of those Florida Man flakka videos than like any drunk person I've seen. And if he had been drinking so much that he was getting DTs, how would he have gotten sick/passed out in the end of the video from drinking barely any vodka?

I haven’t watched the Intervention shows or documentaries because they make me terribly sad and depressed so you may very well be right about those two alcoholics. I’ll take your word for it. At any rate, they both need to go to rehab.

There's something creepy about "Coach Mike" to me.  I can't put my finger on it, but he just gives off a vibe.  He's been appearing on The Talk this week as well.  Life must be rough after getting ditched by Demi, as iHateAmpersands posted.  His desperation doesn't look cute on anyone.

Speaking of his podcast, I want to reach through the screen every single time I hear his "I'll ask the questions around here woman" line to Gayle King.  For his love of Skeletor, one would think he has more respect for women.  *insert eye roll here*

I totally agree about Coach Mike... I can't put my finger on it either why he bugs me so much! The same for that Dr. Sophy! I feel they love the applause and attention just like Shill. Humongous egos!!

Coach Mike doesn't bother me so much.. Dr. Sophy I find creepy as hell and he never adds anything to the show.

Phil may see through other people but for some reason can't see himself as a narcissist. Then again, I guess that's what a narcissist is. They see problems with everyone else but they're always perfect with no faults. Promoting your other million side businesses just once or twice an episode will suffice. He does it every 5 minutes and uses people's problems as  the filler part of his episodes, while using the promotions as the main parts.

Dr. Sophy has creeped me out ever since he was on HWBH as the psychiatrist to Russell (who hanged himself) and she-who’s-mouth-was-way-too-big. I cannot remember her name to save my soul. Also Dr. Mike has creeped me out since the Demi Lovato episode on Dr. Phil. I knew then that she wasn’t sober and there was something snide and sneaky about Mike. Phonies, both of them.

Next week's episodes include the first two-parter in two months and a show that was supposed to air a month ago:

Quote

1/14: What Happened to the Bakersfield 3?

Cheryl's and Jane's two offspring disappeared without a trace within a month of each other, then Di's son was shot and killed; Di says her son told her something cryptic two weeks before he died.

1/15: Bakersfield 3: What the Profiler Revealed

Dr. Phil continues his conversation with Cheryl and Jane, whose offspring are missing, and Di, whose son was shot and killed while driving in a quiet Bakersfield neighborhood; a reporter, a former police detective and a former FBI profiler weigh in.

1/16: I Regret Agreeing to My Wife Being a Sugar Baby

Ryan says he filed for divorce from his wife, Danielle, because she worked as a sugar baby, had an affair, and engaged in sexually deviant behavior for money.

1/17: A Member of My Secret Facebook Group Got Me Fired. I'm Afraid She's Stalking Me

Kelly and Dana, leaders of a Facebook group designed to help women with depression and anxiety, accuse each other of cyber bullying and meet face to face for the first time on Dr. Phil's stage. [This was supposed to air on December 14th, but was replaced with "My Fiance Never Showed Up to Our Wedding, but I Still Love Him" at the last minute.]

1/18: A Young Woman Tormented by Memories of Abuse: But Are They Real?

Kelly says her 24-year-old daughter, Alicia, is suffering from many debilitating health issues as a result of her PTSD and needs constant care; Alicia claims her PTSD is caused by the horrific sexual abuse she had to endure as a child.

The second story with the mother and her son who wants her to be more like a mom than a friend was probably the biggest waste of time this season; there's no way that relationship is going to change. He's better off finding his own place and keeping his distance until she matures.

OMG.  There is nothing pretty about her at all.  Her thinning and receding hairline.  The funky way she talks with the duck lips and giant veneers.  Methinks the amount of money she's yapping about is being waaay overblown.

Also, if you're upside down with the IRS, is it a great idea to go on TeeVee and brag about your cash side hustle?
