Yes, completely agree.  Lyme has made it to the Midwest, and the news has been full of warnings on being very careful about wearing bug repellent and making sure to check for ticks.  One of the stations interviewed a (non-celebrity) woman who had post-treatment Lyme syndrome - night and day difference between her and Yo.  She never mentioned only having 40%/62%/85% brain function, no Hungarian ointments, no freezing herself like a popsicle, and not one thing related to colonics or detoxing.  Can you imagine?  Not a single thing about pulling shit out of her ass, much less on a weekly or daily basis.  She also wasn't expecting everyone she knows to bring her daily lattes and commiserate about how sick she looks today).  And, apparently, she didn't need to hire an ex-hooker to take care of her pill closet because she didn't have a pill closet.

Yo did absolutely nothing to bring awareness to Lyme or post-treatment Lyme syndrome.  I know a lot of us here have learned a lot about Lyme because we looked it up because Yo's nonsense made no sense.  But I can see how more casual viewers would come to the conclusion that Yo's nonsense is bullshit and maybe writing off Lyme Disease as bullshit too.

Sorry for my temper tantrum.  My husband's best friend has ALS.  He's 52.  He's close to the end, too, and is also lashing out at everyone via his writing.  Totally out of character for him but he's gone through something these past 18 months no one can understand and is angry.  So reading Yo's friend getting dragged for what she wrote rubbed me wrong.  I think I felt what our boardmates who have Lyme (or loved ones who do) who left the board, did. It's just really hard to read some of these things about these sick people - whether they're assholes or not.

I don't understand why it's more horrible to talk about someone's back fat than making fun of a dying person.

I think everyone here has compassion for the truly sick. I think most of us have little tolerance for assholes, even sick ones who put it out there on SM. They invite our comments. I think most of know that we are talking about specific people who chose the public eye, if it's taken personally by someone it's not meant for, we can't be responsible for that.

Sorry about your husband's friend. I hope he comes around to enjoy his time with loved ones.

IMO, it's only the peeps  fascinated by (or paid by) Kyle who clutch their pearls at the mention of the droop. Brandi is oft an asshole but she doesn't appear to have too much of a prob with back fat (or any fat), which may have contributed to Kyle's mean-girl insecurities in the early days.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or what.  But Kyle and her back fat landed a damn successful man and a long marriage.  Add to that a grounded family.  Yeah, she has Kim and Kathy as sisters but she has no choice in that situation.  Mean girl?  She's no where on the level of Brandi or some of the other housewives.  I'd hang out with Kyle over any of the housewives.  Snark?  Yeah.  I like some snark.  Mean?  Not really.  At most a tad.  Is she any different from most woman?  Not really.

Kyle was never my favorite because she did seem mean and histrionic, but... a middle-aged woman who has given birth to three (or four?) kids has some fat on her body? One redeeming quality about this franchise and Yolanda is included-I have rarely heard them demean another for their body or looks.  Except Brandi talking about Adrienne's facial work, and Kim talking about Taylor's lips.  The other franchises can be brutal demanding to know what procedures and making comparisons.  Even when Yolanda was ill and sans make-up, RH made a point of saying she was pretty.

Guess I'll watch it, though I am kind of surprised to see her name there.

My biggest concern would be about my father.  We don't know if David threw anything at a health plan so I wouldn't make that 'assumption' about his children.  We don't really know anything about his kids.  I guess that's how we differ.  I wouldn't even bring it up.  They're not on the show.  So agree to disagree.

As for Kyle, I never saw her as a mean girl.  I saw her as a person who was dealing with a family member who has addiction problems.  Severe additions problems.  And sometimes it's just easier to go along rather than rock the boat.  I'm referring to the crutch thing at Pam's party.  And when Brandi was first introduced?  That was more snark than meanness.  I would snark too.  Brandi looked ridiculous in those wedgies on crutches.  So.  Agree to disagree.

People should use whatever they can when trying to be successful.  Gigi, imo, is beautiful and photogenic.  But if she wasn't able to pose and walk, she'd be toast in that industry.  Posing for editorials can be taught, but you need a certain un-self consciousness to do it well.  Yolanda may or may not be responsible for Gigi's likeability and un-self consciousness and getting her foot in the door, but it's all on Gigi now. 

For all the hate Gigi's getting now, and Anwar?  What did Anwar do? :-(  I'm firmly in her cheering section.  She's gonna be bigger than Giselle. And if she loves what she's doing and is making scads of money, why should she go to college. To get well rounded? Eh.  And this coming from an educator.  Oy.

There is a reason Gigi gets so many print ads, she has one of those faces.  Her face completely draws the eye, I notice her more than other models all the time when I'm reading magazines, and it has nothing to do with Yolanda, that part comes after in a "oh yeah, that's Yo's kid" way.  The used to call it the "it" factor, and it's often not the most beautiful, it's just a combination of features that don't quite fit the norm and makes an impression.  I think she's just stunning, and obviously, advertisers and magazine editors do as well.

Thanks for the clip ZM , I thought GIgi did very well for herself. She came across relaxed and she was quick with her responses. It isn't Gigi saying that she had no family help or that her social media following isn't a big part of her success, that's all on Yo #proudmommy. GIgi can't help that she has a crazy mom. It is irritating that every article about Gigi has to include a blurb about Yolanda the former " supermodel". Supermodel is becoming the new pornstar. Everyone who does porn is a star, you never hear of a porn character actor, ya know? 

 

If if it's true that Yo is coming back it has to be her turn for a beat down. She really has skated through each season, primarily because of her illness  and because she was lucky enough to be on the seasons that featured raging alcoholics/mental illness that made her behavior pale in comparison. If she's well enough to fly all around the world ( just saw today she is in Australia with Bella) she well enough to be questioned about her treatments as well as her know it all, I'm up here and your down here (insert hand motions here) attitude.

I think it's likely.  The largest topic of conversation all season has been Yolanda.  Bravo pays attention to things like that.  Also, she has a very famous daughter now, and a spare, not nearly as beautiful, but still doing well in the modeling world.

I can't imagine they would fire her, although she may not wish to return, she will probably have her people negotiate the same kind of deal she had this season.  Show up when you want to/can, and still get a full salary (not a pay for play deal.)
