Jenelle: Birther Of 3, Mother To None

What the hell is that supposed to mean? If you’re a Yankee, you were smart and evacuated NC before the hurricane? He’s such a moron.

Jenelle was dancing on trees five minutes ago now she's trying to save Barb and her community.

Normally, she'd be posting that she hoped something awful happened to Barb and her house. But, she's had Jace for almost a week with no power and food is running low. She's trying to figure out how to get rid of him. Next, she'll be posting about Doris and asking for help to get Kaiser out of there.

These people are so freaking stupid.  Of course, the stores won't be restocked.  If you can't get through then the trucks that supply the stores cannot get through.  Does she think the food fairy flies in every night, and poof, the store is restocked??

Even if the forecast here is for a dusting to a couple of inches of snow, I will stop at the grocery, make sure I have batteries, etc.  I've seen it go from dusting to holy crap we have 8+ inches of snow, or it's an ice storm.  No thanks, I prefer to stay in and off any icy roads (having a car totaled through no fault of my own with maybe an inch of snow on the ground makes me a little wary).

That house surely has a pantry or some area to store items?  If I have room in my small, modest home, surely there is room in her manse on The Land.

The Ohio National Guard was just activated yesterday to go to North Carolina to help, so the Yankees have not all left.  Moron.

He also said something stupid (well he was talking so go figure) during that "we're going to be rescuing people" video.  He or someone else said oh are those guys (actual rescue crew) from Canada?  Someone said no, they're from Illinois (spoken as Illi-NOISE).  UBT, I think said, well just might as well be Canada, huh huh huh huh (laughing like a dork).

Who cares where they are from?  They are actually helping, while all you do is drive around and film, you wannabe he-man.  He really looks like a sasquatch in the pictures where he's busy with the chainsaw.  Yuck.

I do the same thing if snow or wind is predicted. Make sure you have everything long before you need it! Jenelle was posting days before the hurricane about stores being out of staples so she KNEW supplies were running low before it ever hit. Guess she was too busy telling people to fuck off on Twitter to listen to the news and actually prepare for what was coming. I'm on the other side of the country and I knew when I ordered fatwood (little sticks full of pitch to start fires in the woodstove) the other day that it would take longer to get here because it comes from that part of the country.

BINGO!

As I get older I am putting more effort, like grandma did, in having pantry stores that rotate.  Stocking up on stuff that lasts for years, like honey etc.  Canning and preserving has become easier.  I don't store or stock things we don't eat.  Just having packaged soup on hand that we rotate so it's always on hand is great.  Who doesn't like to get cozy in the winter and make something quick and easy.  I don't like to go shopping in the winter so in the fall we stock up on staples and start freezing chili, soups, sauces etc.  We are lucky that all of our electrical and cable wires are underground so we rarely lose power.  When my sibs and I had small kids we were always on alert to get them out during storms and such.  I browse Backwoods Home magazine at the library all the time for ideas.  We live in an urban area but they have ideas for everyone and they are not crazy preppers.

Nah, there are a lot of people in the South still fighting the Civil War who view everyone who originated north of them as carpetbagging Yankees.  The idea is the storm will make things so bad that it will drive these weak foreigners who aren't used to such things right back where they came from so that Real Men (it always seems to be men somehow) who of course are tough enough to deal with these situations can stay and deal with the situation.

When I lived in the Panhandle of Florida the same idea flourished, and Montana has (or had, when I was there in the 90s) something similar about Californians and blizzards.

And to answer Jenelle:  my guess is he does indeed consider you a Yankee and thus not nearly as good as a Southerner (but still good enough to live off of and screw on occasion).

But are they stupid enough to think the people up north don't have storms and devastation?  Do they not watch the news?  Let's consider the hurricanes that occur farther north or inland, let's consider the blizzards that some areas get all winter long.  These are not tough people?  Ugh, they are so annoying.  Thanks for explaining though, as I didn't know about this either.

Not sure I can accurately say what I want to, but for the people I know who have a "go home Yankee" attitude, it's wanting things to stay the same as they were years ago and feeling threatened by change rather than thinking someone from the north doesn't experience storms or isn't tough.    Kind of like a deep woundedness -- "We lost the civil war so we now have to lash out to defend ourselves and our worth."  "Who are these people to come in and tell us we have to change?"   "They are afraid of a hurricane.  See, they aren't as wonderful as they think they are!  I'm better than they are because I did yada yada yada..."

There is a pretty big "if you don't like the way we do things around here, you should leave" attitude in some parts of the south.

I can't say if UBT is like this or if he genuinely thinks people from other areas are not tough.    However, his public persona leads me to believe he's someone who would be afraid of change or something different and would automatically make that thing or person bad.   Hence the weird lashing out.

And an awful lot of people who spend their time and energy putting down others do so to make themselves feel better, because down deep they feel inferior to pretty much everyone.  I see UBT and Jenelle as part of this group (and possibly Kail and Brianna, too--not so sure about Leah (she seems to wear her inferiority on her sleeve) and Chelsea).  And I saw a hell of a lot of it in the "Yankee Go Home" group (very apt term, NannyBails!) when I lived in rural Florida, who feel like Yankees (and Democrats and elites, which many there consider the same thing) look down on them, so when a storm comes it's their chance to prove how good/tough/worthy they are and how weak the Yankees/etc. actually are.  It's fascinating, if infuriating (and yes, I'm a Yankee, and during my interview for the Florida job a Southerner joked that I was a carpetbagger coming down to steal their job--and this was one of the more LIBERAL people in the area!).

Interesting. She took it off her Instagram.   My theory is because it was taken before the storm.

My data points:

  • Very green for this time of the year.
  • Absolutely NO signs of flooding.
  • It is still raining in her parts of the state.  Compare this to UBT IG story posted the same day.
  • No storm debris anywhere.
  • And most important data point - she's a f'n egotistical jackass who would post an old picture to try and get sympathy.

Someone said she was wearing Nike shirt and she and David swore they wouldn’t wear nike again.  If it’s removed I bet because everyone pointed it out. Hahahaha

Hasn't this b***** lived in the coastal Carolinas for over a decade and for all of her adult life??? WTF. That's exactly what happens after a hurricane, you idiot.  This is what the aftermath of a hurricane is like (and why people make preparations for it or leave if they can) and I assumed adults who have lived over a decade in coastal, hurricane prone areas knew that. Yeah, that stuff is scary, but like....you know that's gonna happen during/after a major storm.

I guess Jenelle was hitting the bath bong during previous storms or something and has never watched the news after a hurricane.

They were looking for their stash!  Too bad it floated to Florida.... :)

A tad off topic, but my baby brother found a bale of the mota off the west coast in international waters. This was prior to recreational legalization. Left it, which we both decided later was the smart choice.

Why is she talking about Boiling Springs? That's across the state from her! Boiling Springs is where Gardner-Webb University is, west of Charlotte. Maybe she is talking about them, but I'm thinking she is getting town names confused. There's a town (or maybe just a community) near her called Boiling Springs Lakes that I saw on the map...is that what she means? If she's going to call out #tide, maybe having the right location would help her be taken seriously!

Barb lives in Boiling Springs Lakes. And yeah, if she wants help directed somewhere, she should be specific about the location.

Jenelle posted and deleted this on facebook. She was spreading false information.

She then shared this post:

I thought she was prepared. She's getting free food

Someone replied to Jenelle about the food

Yes I tried to order for some people today that sent me their info and it said they have reached their daily limit

It makes me really stabby that this wench is taking free supplies from people who are really in need, when she has the means to have evacuated and just chose not to do it.  And gee, yeah Jenelle, it's gonna take a really long time to recover.  Who could have guessed that?  Oh, that's right, EVERYONE.  Literally everyone who was paying any attention.

That's exactly what I thought. Gotta be honest...if I were taking orders for this company and saw her name, I would be majorly tempted to not send her anything!

Jen-yell's neanderthal is a jackass.

My husband is from Michigan and I tease him about being a yankee when he mocks Louisiana culture.  When we lived in our old neighborhood, a couple from Ohio moved in and the wife was making fun of roads and bridges closing due to ice.  I thought that was really rude.  In Louisiana we don't get enough ice to have equipment to deal with it so an ice storm does shut everything down because it sets up dangerous conditions we aren't used to.   We can deal with heat and humidity but extreme cold and ice is a different story.  Kind of like how up in the north, they can carry on during snow but people die from a heat wave because they don't have air conditioning.

I've seen people mock people living on the gulf coast and saying they shouldn't live there because of hurricanes.  The oil refineries are on the coast so that's where people live to work.

People mocking people in other regions seems to be more typical than not.  The neanderthal is a jackass though and he has no right to mock anyone.

I have a question for people who have been in hurricane prone areas and have chosen not to evacuate. And I am NOT talking about people who:

  • can't afford to evacuate
  • didn't think their area would be hard hit
  • had nowhere to go
  • needed to stay there to work, like emergency personnel
  • heck, were even seasoned veterans who had a secure home, a place to wait it out, and plenty of supplies

i'd like to know if anyone chose to stay because of their belongings.

I was looking at another group where people were defending jenelle, saying that it's hard to evacuate, mentally, because you're leaving all your things behind, not knowing what would happen to your house or belongings.

Let me say that I totally, totally get that. I can see why it would be hard, and I think I would shed a tear or two before I left.

however...

To me this would be even MORE of a reason to leave!!! If the hurricane is so strong that you're freaking out about it severely damaging or tearing your house down, JUST THINK OF WHAT IT COULD DO TO YOU!!! That alone would terrify me into leaving if I possibly could. Just by staying in the house, I will not be able to prevent nature from taking its course and ripping my belongings to shreds. It's not like the hurricane will say, "well, I'll skip this house, because jenelle and Lurch are home, so they must care about it. I'll strike their neighbors who left." I have never been in the eye of the storm, but I certainly have a lot of empathy for these people! It would be so hard to leave your home. I'd picture coming back like Scarlett when she came back to Tara after the civil war, after seeing Ashley's house completely destroyed, scared of what I'd find. But...that thought would make staying during the hurricane less enticing, not more! I've heard a lot of people defend jenelle by saying this, and everybody loves their home, but I'd think people would love their lives more!

ETA: let me make totally sure that I state that I don't think these people are materialistic! I don't see this as being a case of putting material things above your life; people have worked their whole lives to have their home and the things in it, so I don't think that's vain at all. That's literally what they have to show for their whole lives, and a place they feel totally comfortable! However, I would still want to put myself out of harm's way, even if it was painful to think about what could be happening to my home. It will happen regardless, whether i'm there or not.

You can always replace things, but not your life or your family's life.

I was reading, before the hurricane hit, on another message board.  People who'd stayed behind for hurricanes (less strong than this one), listed out what people should do ahead of time.  I'm sure that UBT and Jenelle didn't do half of the things listed.  Some said, get your kids, get your pets, load up shit you can't replace (pictures), plus clothes and some food/water, and get the fuck out of there now!

A friend and I were talking about it, even an idiot co-worker agreed.  If they even mentioned the word evacuate, we'd be packing up and leaving.  Even if it was voluntary, I think I'd be like nah, I'm leaving.

Kills me that they are low on food.  She has at least two kids there all the time.  No peanut butter?  Peanut butter and crackers. (Assuming kids not allergic to peanuts). Soup, canned pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, sardines, Vienna sausages, Spam, etc.

They thought it'd be 'fun' to stay there, an adventure.  They were posting all sorts of he-man type shit ahead of the storm.  I thought they were one with The Land, prepper types.  All it says is they are posers, wannabes.  They're too lazy to actually do anything.

The thing is, they had the means to get away.  Now they are adding to the problem.   There are people who couldn't get away, for whatever reasons.  They are now using up resources that these people absolutely need.

I also read that the NWS is watching 4 more tropical depressions/storms.  One would be on a trajectory for the Carolinas if it holds together.  At best, it dissipates or goes on another track.  It could also be another hurricane, or a tropical storm.  Hopefully, for everyone else's sake (other than UBT and Jenelle - sorry, can't muster any sympathy right now for them), it goes elsewhere or dissipates.
