Climate change isn't a bipartisan issue, it's a human one. I know Meghan said that it's number 15 when it comes to things that American's care about, but if you are worried about jobs, industry, family and terrorism, then you need to care about climate change. How will you be able to grow food, if your land is drying up and there's no rain? How will you focus on trade to get the food, if you slap tariffs on everything causing countries to do the same to you? How will you then pay farmers for loss of wages, without tackling the core issue? How can you think about coaling, if it will damage the environment and cause medical problems with workers?

Climate change ties everything together. I don't get how that's not important.

The Senator reminds me of the reason why people dislike politicians so much. They may say that they're against something and speak out about things, but when push comes to shove they'll vote in line with their party's interests. And when you really listen to them, you realize that they don't do much. (I don't want to quote Abby and Meghan, but this is something you'll find on both sides)

I agree with Joy that a consensual affair is not an abuse of power. An abuse of power would be using your position to threaten or blackmail someone into something they don't want. I’m glad Joy pointed out again that Hillary won the popular vote when McCain goes on her spiel as if her thoughts represent the majority. Just because you want everyone to move on to your speshal friend Joe Biden, Meh-gun, doesn’t mean everyone else does. When they all sat down at the table at the beginning of the show, Joy hadn't so much as said "Welcome to The View" before McCain was already trying to interrupt her. What a narcissist.

Everything that you said in your post requires critical thinking. These people lack that and they are willfully ignorant and it is not up to the left as Megan said to convince them that climate change is real and is impacting their lives everyday.

97% of scientists have said that climate change is real. The middle of America refuses to accept it because they don't believe in science and they don't want to put in the changes necessary to combat climate change because it would interfere with their way of life.  Selfishness, greed, pride and owning the libs are keeping them from accepting the undeniable truth.

This is one of those times that I thought Abby showed how shallow her thinking is. And Sunny (perhaps from having been a prosecutor who was steeped in this stuff and so is miles ahead of someone who thinks like Abby) didn't quite know how to bridge the gap.

Sunny's right (and hardly made a big, revelatory observation), when she said today that Trump doesn't like women.

Abby took it at its shallowest meaning, because he's always been known as a womanizer. To the extent that rape is about power, conquest is also about power, just at a lower concentration. 

Even if we set aside all of the numerous allegations that Trump sexually assaulted women, he's still one that's obviously (imo) in it primarily for the conquest. As evidence, I submit his entire public life.

That he got women to consent for whatever reason (money, fame, or uuuuugh even attraction to him) is beside the point. He wasn't in it for a connection with those women. He was in it, for whatever he could get out of it, and while some of that is the momentary physical pleasure, for someone who is primarily or solely in it for the conquest, it is also just about the, "Look at what I did/got/what a stud I am." It's about the ego. It's masturbation at its core. There just happens to be another person doing the work.

So yeah, Sunny was dead right today, when she said he doesn't like women. I wish she had gone further and explained he doesn't even really view women as humans*. They're there to serve, augment, flatter etc. It's objectification. Abby showed herself to be woefully lacking in that exchange. 

 

*To be fair, I think he is a malignant narcissist and may not view any other human as truly human.

Everyday citizens are the real losers here.  Does it really matter which party is winning when very little is done to help anyone except political donors and corporations?  Meghan might think politics is a game but for the rest of us there are very serious consequences to the politics of today.

 

Actually it's more than half.  If you count all people who didn't vote or are too young to vote the winners are a small percentage.  I think it's somewhere around 35%.

Joy seemed liked her old self, the first time so far this season IMO. Liked today’s show.

I kept waiting for Sunny to counterpoint some of MMs arguments, and it looked like she was getting ready but ultimately didn’t.

Joy and Sunny constantly say “What about Trump?” and Whoopi says “What about Mitch McConnell?”. They ALL do it and there is nothing wrong with it. They are just pointing out the hypocrisy of the other side. Abby is at least objective about it because it IS done on BOTH SIDES. Most people have trouble acknowledging “whataboutism” when it’s their side doing it. That’s why I respect Abby. She, at least is impartial enough to recognize that it is done on both sides.
