-- On whether there is any romance or bromance "between them" (I'm not sure who the fan was referring to) in the crossover, SA: "Everyone's asking the wrong question. They don't hug, they kiss. (Audience laughs) I'm not going to follow up. Just print that... There's definitely some romance moments... in the crossover. Yeah. There's tons of romance... You see Oliver making a very, very weird face when Iris kisses him. Um, and there's a kiss - a weird kiss that you haven't seen in any of the previews, even though they've released a thousand of them. There's some good romance - and bromance. But no hugging."

Heroes & Villains Fan Fest 2018: Diggle and Harper Panel

-- DR: "But, you know, we haven't seen Diggle in the future yet. And, um, I think you guys are going to get a nice treat, um, in the crossover."

-- On who wore it better, SA or GG, in their superhero costume swap, CH: "They both wear it well. It's just a different way they wear it. Um, you know, Grant's like high fashion, kind of like runway model. Stephen's like a body builder. Different types. We have something for everyone."

-- DR: "But speaking of Diggle's future, all I can say is this: there's a big tease about Diggle's future in the crossover."

-- DR talked about how GG looked "super cool" in the GA suit and picked up the fighting right away, while SA was uncomfortable in his Flash suit and broke it on the last day of filming the crossover. CH said that SA looked "like a Teletubby." CH quickly said he looked great and apologized to SA.

Is purple a Lois Lane thing in the comics?  I know the Superman: the Animated Series Lois was always in purple, but I didn’t know if that was carried over from the comics or not.

No, I don't think she's associated with any particular color in the comics.

Does Barry’s life swap come with tacky jewelry as well? I don’t think Barry normally a Flash ring. Unless someone gave it to him since last year’s crossover.

I really hope that’s an actual quote SA tweeted.

It’s really rich that Oliver yells to Barry “your team betrayed you - you needed them and they weren’t there!” Buddy still doesn’t seem to realize that most of his team ghosted him and his wife when he was in prison.

That was the first trailer that got me hyped, though (but I wish it had more Supergirl). It highlighted the comic moments like Oliver accidentally flashing through the apartment and Barry discovering he has abs.

Joining The Arrow-verse Was Really Intimidating For The Monitor Actor LaMonica Garrett
BY MICK JOEST  DECEMBER 4, 2018
https://www.cinemablend.com/television/2462794/joining-the-arrow-verse-was-really-intimidating-for-the-monitor-actor-lamonica-garrett

Quote

LaMonica Garrett may look all big and bad as The Monitor in The CW's "Elseworlds" crossover, but the actor admitted playing the antagonist was quite intimidating. Garrett spoke to CinemaBlend's Adam Holmes about his character in the Arrow-verse crossover, and what it was like stepping in to play the new character alongside the franchise's established heroes:

"It was intimidating. It was intimidating because just not just with the Arrow-verse or with, you know, these shows, but as an actor in general, especially guest starring with a nucleus that had been there and they all know each other, you're the new guy coming in, but you have to make it seem like you guys have been doing this in tandem for years. That's the intimidating part of any show that you go on. So with this one, it's even more so, because this character comes in, you know, you don't know if he's a villain, if he's a good guy, he's giving books to people that are doing bad things. You're the villain, you're the enemy, you're the antagonist."
*  *  *
LaMonica Garrett continued on talking about his experience in "Elseworlds" and said he had a great time playing The Monitor for the three-night event. Garrett also shared what it's like coming into a special as a villain in the Arrow-verse, and how that added to the intimidation factor on his end:

"So some actors work method, which means they're going to be standoffish of you. It's not just the character, but the actor. So people aren't really talking to you. It was a great group. You know, everybody, I got along great with everybody. But they're not just, 'Hey, let me sit down next to you at lunch and let's all talk.' It's kind of, you're the evil person coming in. You're the baddie and it's, and that's the intimidating part. Just being on the Arrow-verse, the history of it, they've been doing this year after year. You don't want to come in and screw it up. Like last year, they had a great crossover. I don't want to come in and be like, 'Oh, the crossover was great, but you know, Monitor stuff.' It's a lot of weight on it, but you live for it."
*  *  *
For now, all we know about LaMonica Garrett's character is that The Monitor is in possession of a book capable of rewriting reality. That book (or another) eventually falls into the hands of Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan, who then rewrites reality and switches the lives of Barry and Oliver. Deegan has been shown in promos uncovering the book from a hiding place, although Garrett's conversation with CinemaBlend appears to state he'll receive the book via The Monitor's intervention.

LaMonica Garrett also mentioned "books" as plural, which may mean the book he uses in Earth-90 is different from the book John Deegan uses in "Elseworlds." If this is the case and each world has its own book, this might explain why Supergirl is aware that Barry and Oliver's roles have flip-flopped, while folks like Iris and Diggle are none the wiser. It also makes one wonder who else The Monitor may have given books to, and why.

It all goes back to LaMonica's Garrett's initial quote which hints there may be some ambiguity to The Monitor's intentions. In DC Comics, The Monitor aided different universes' villains, but it ultimately was a test to see which heroes were capable of facing the Anti Monitor. Again, we're not sure if that's happening in "Elseworlds," but if it is, Barry and Oliver definitely seem to have gotten an easier challenge than the one that John Wesley Shipp's Flash!

For all the things LaMonica Garrett couldn't speak about ahead of "Elseworlds" he did say that his Monitor will pave the way for the Arrow-verse to introduce other Monitors down the stretch. Obviously, this opens the door to far more storylines that aren't "Crisis on Infinite Earths," and could allow Garrett to reprise his role in future storylines or crossover specials.

Thanks. Barry's identity is still supposed to be a secret though, isn't it? Because this seems like a very odd way to keep that secret. Unless his cover is being the president of the Flash Fan Club.

In response to someone's question in the Arrow forum, here's an article listing the dead superheroes on Earth-90 (as identified by ComicBook.com)...

So who all lies dead on Earth-90? We've gone through the scene carefully to try to identify each of the slain heroes. We're pretty confident on most of them, though some are more obvious than others. We've identified them all for you, but if you've spotted one we've missed -- or happen to have an alternative suggestion for who a slain hero might be -- be sure to let us know in the comments.

'Elseworlds' crossover star teases the Monitor's 'vital' role: 'He comes on hard'
CHANCELLOR AGARD   December 05, 2018
https://ew.com/tv/2018/12/05/elseworlds-crossover-lamonica-garrett-the-monitor/

Quote

While the CW’s annual crossover — which includes The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl — doesn’t plan on adapting Crisis (that’s still many years off if The Flash‘s future newspaper is to be believed), that doesn’t mean the Monitor’s role in the three-night event is any less important to the story, which sees Barry Allen/the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) swap lives after an insane Arkham Asylum doctor rewrites reality.

“He’s vital,” says Garrett. “He’s not going to be in every other scene. You’re not going to get overloaded with him, but he comes in early, he comes in hard, and his presence is felt throughout the whole three episodes. He’s driving the crossover.” (A fact that was hinted at in the epic post-credit tag that aired at the end of this week’s episodes of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, which showed the Monitor standing amidst a destroyed Earth-90 as ’90s Flash [John Wesley Shipp] runs for his life.)
*  *  *
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Can you walk me through the process of landing the role?
LAMONICA GARRETT:
Yeah, I found out I wasn’t coming back on Designated Survivor when it moved over to Netflix, and I was kind of bummed out for a couple days. You know, one door opens, one closes, that whole thing. About a week later, I got a call from my manager; he was talking to David Rapport casting. I’d been in that casting office over the past eight years auditioning, and I’ve gotten close to a hand full of them but nothing ever really panned out on all the shows. When this one came around, it was like, “I think he’d be good for it.”

So, I came in and read, and it was dummy sides and dummy names. You didn’t know who you were auditioning for. You just knew it was a powerful DC entity. In my mind, I was like, ‘Damn, are they bringing Darkseid? Is this Darkseid?’ I’m in there with the writers trying to pick their brains and get them to drop something, and nothing. By the third audition, it was with [Arrow consulting producer] Marc Guggenheim and [The Flash executive producer] Eric Wallace, and we went over it, and they were like, “Yeah, we love you.” I got the part, but even after that, a few days later, I still didn’t know it was the Monitor. I hit my reps up and I was like, “Who am I playing anyway?” Then, when they told us it was the Monitor, I was like, “Well, which version is it? Nix Uotan?” They said Crisis Monitor, and I kind of stopped. I know the significance of that Monitor, and I was like, “Yeah, that’s kind of a big deal.” Still, I didn’t have material for the crossover yet, so I’m like, “Are they doing Crisis on Infinite Earths? They can’t be.” Then, we got the scripts and I was like, “Wow.” The scripts blew my mind. A few days later, I’m in Vancouver getting fitted for wardrobe and the Monitor’s look, and it just took off from there.

How did you come up with your portrayal of the character? Did you re-read some stuff with the Monitor after landing the role?
I went back and re-read Crisis. I read it like years ago, re-read and refreshed it, but there isn’t a lot of material on the Monitor, as well. He kicked around Teen Titans, and he was a weapons dealer for villains. He was spotted here and there, but nothing really significant, like he didn’t have a whole series dedicated to him. So, what I did is find out what he’s about, what his fears are, what drives him, what needs, and like with any character, the rest kind of falls into place.

But you’re [dealing with] a cosmic entity, so there are certain things you have to throw in there as well. I looked at some of my favorite heroes and favorite villains growing up, and kind of pieced together my version of what I think this guy would be. It’s better for me because there has never been a live-action Monitor. Like, whoever does Joker now is being measured up to Heath Ledger and before that, it was Jack Nicholson. I don’t have anything of that, so whatever I come up with, that’s just what it is, whether it’s good or bad.
*  *  *
When I spoke to Grant Gustin on set, he said you were intimidating without really doing much with your performance. Was that a conscious decision?
He’s this all-powerful being. My acting coach used to tell me, “When you have a gun in a scene — a really big gun — you don’t have yell and throw stuff around. This gun is doing all the yelling for you.” The Monitor is the gun, like he has this power and he doesn’t have to do much, he doesn’t have to say much. He doesn’t even have to fight when you think about it. It was a conscious effort to do less, and as an actor, less is more, you know, that whole [saying]. If you think back to The Godfather, you can barely hear [Marlon Brando] talking, but you knew if you crossed him that that was it. He didn’t have to say much. That’s another person I looked at. I just looked at powerful figures throughout film and just studied everything. Them noticing what I was doing, it was kind of cool, but it really wasn’t doing a whole lot and that was the hard part.
*  *  *
In the promos we see him working with John Deegan (Jeremy Davies). Is he an antagonist in the Arrowverse’s interpretation of the character?
Like I said, he did bad things for a good cause in the comic books. Now in this Arrowverse version of the Monitor, you might not like him [or] you might love him, but I think by the end of the third episode you’ll get an idea of where he’s coming from. To me, the best villains — and I’m not saying he’s a villain or a hero; you can’t really classify him as good or evil — are the ones that are doing things and you get their logic and you know why they’re doing it, but you’re [like], “You still can’t do that. I know where you’re coming from, but that’s the wrong way of going about it.” To me, that was Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. I get what he’s doing, it makes all the sense in the world, but you just can’t do that. So, I think some people may think he’s an antagonist and others may get a different take on him, but I think that’s the fun of watching it as well.
*  *  *
What was it like putting on the costume for the first time? It’s very comic book accurate.
I kind of got choked up a little bit. It took a few weeks to make it. Wardrobe did a fantastic job, but we had to do it in increments. I would fly back up out there, we’d see how this fit or tuck a little bit here, go home, fly back to Vancouver. By the third time I went back, I was able to look in the mirror and see the full thing with the hair, with the beard cut, and I kind of got choked up a little bit. When I looked in the mirror, I had that “wow” moment. The suit is not comfortable at all: It gets in your business; the cape is like 15 pounds by itself (maybe even heavier); the book that we are using is like 25 or 30 pounds. I don’t have to go to the gym on the days where I’m the Monitor, let’s put it that way, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
*  *  *
What was it like to step into a scene with the other heroes in the Arrowverse, and what was your first scene with them like?
It was intimidating. You’ve been watching their shows for the past however many years, and the actors are all doing really great work. That in and of itself, I was like, “Damn, I don’t want to go in there a screw it up. I want to hold my own.” But then you get into the scene and it’s not just the actors, it’s what’s on their chest: the Superman logo, the Flash logo, and then you see the hood with Green Arrow, and then you got ‘90s Flash [John Wesley Shipp]. Like are you kidding me? I was watching this guy when I was in high school! It was surreal, but it was intimidating.

There was a lot going on. It’s like doing theater when the curtain is about to open and you’re on stage in front of hundreds of people, this is it. To me, that’s living. Some people get their thrills jumping out of a plane, or getting to the top of Mount Everest and snowboarding down — I don’t know. But that moment in time when you’re opposite these actors, and then you’re opposite these characters that you grew up idolizing, and you’re the one they’re all trying to defeat, it was intimidating, but in the best possible way.

Arrow : Stephen Amell Fan Fest San Jose 2018
Published on Dec 5, 2018, by Fan Fest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M1th_-FQEM

-- Fan: "Can we expect any more Oliver and Barry bromance, like hugs, in the crossover?" SA: "No! This will make sense. There are no Barry and Oliver hugs in the crossover, which is not to say he doesn't ask. (Audience laughs) What you guys don't realize now is that I'm spoiling a scene for you in plain sight. There are no hugs, but the subject is broached. He's got him twice. Not a third time. Although he may have hugged him without Oliver realizing, because super speed."

-- SA: "There's a line that was cut, I'm so mad that it was cut. I think it was because I made fun of the Bat Signal. (Audience laughs)  I did. I don't think they liked it. I don't think that they liked it. Grant points to the Bat Signal and he goes, 'Huh?' And I go, 'So what? It's a stupid signal.' That actually happened."

-- On his favorite scene in the crossover, SA: "Having John Wesley Shipp show up as Flash from the 1990's was pretty cool. But it's probably a walk-and-talk scene in ARGUS between me, Grant and Melissa, where we are talking about some of the problems with going to Gotham City... That was a really fun scene to shoot."

-- Fan: "So someone actually stole my question of whether Barry and Oliver hug. So instead I'm going to ask if there are any bromance or maybe romancing between them in the crossover?"  SA: "Yeah, everyone's asking the wrong question. They don't hug, they kiss. (Audience laughs)  I'm not going to even follow that up. Just print that. Print that. Thank you. Appreciate that. Fired away. No, uh - there's definitely some romance moments in the crossover. Yeah. There's tons of romance. I actually didn't know in one of the episodes that a romantic scene happened and I was very excited to see that it did. And, um, there's definitely some odd romance. As you see Oliver make a very, very weird face when Iris kisses him. Um, and, uh, there's a kiss - a weird kiss that you haven't seen in any of the previews, even though they've released a thousand of them. There's some good romance - and bromance. But no hugging."

-- Fan (after referring to The Flash pilot's news headline that's dated April 2024): "Will the show end with a series crossover finale event with The Flash?" SA: "I never said anything about a 12-year contract... I hope that Arrow goes for a very, very long time. I don't have a 12-year contract. I really hope that, um - I really hope that... That doesn't mean that I can't be on the show for 12 years. I just don't have a 12-year contract." He then said that it was a real accomplishment for Arrow to set up five-year flashbacks in the pilot and get to finish those flashbacks. So he said that he hopes The Flash can also tell the 10-year story that was teased in its pilot. SA then said: "I have no idea how the shows will end. None whatsoever."

-- SA: "There's some really fun, comedic moments in - certainly, definitely the first hour of the crossover for sure. And one of the things that meant a lot to me was that, you know, Marc Guggenheim talked about how, when they pitched this to the network, one of the ways that they got them to sign off on it was that they assured them that, from a comedic standpoint, I was, you know, true to the task."

There's more to her interview than what I've quoted below...

Bitsie Tulloch previews Lois Lane's Arrowverse debut in 'Elseworlds'
CHANCELLOR AGARD   December 05, 2018 at 04:08 PM EST
https://ew.com/tv/2018/12/05/elseworlds-crossover-lois-lane-debut-elizabeth-tulloch/

Quote

“It was mostly just kind of funny because Lois doesn’t know them,” Tulloch tells EW about the first time Lois meets the Flash and Green Arrow. “She’s just kind of confused. She’s like, ‘Wait, you’re saying you’re this person, and you’re saying you’re that person? You’re saying you don’t normally look like this?’ So her reaction is different from Clark and Kara’s.”

She continues: “There’s definitely a funny moment that the three of us — Clark, Kara, and Lois — are watching with the two boys sort of having an altercation, of course, because what they’re going through is weird for them. It was really fun. One thing I’ve been emphasizing in all my interviews is just how much fun I had filming, how much fun we all seemed to be having working together. The crossovers are awesome. It was just a really enjoyable experience.”
*  *  *
It’s cool that the crossover also introduces her as a reporter. When we see her for the first time in The Flash, she’s talking to Clark about a story she wants to write.
Yeah, it’s because it’s always in the back of her mind. It’s true. That’s like a family hangout on the Kent farm, and she’s there and she’s happy to be there, but she’s also thinking about the story.
*  *  *
Did you and Tyler Hoechlin have time to work on your chemistry together as this iconic couple?
Literally, no. That’s the other thing that was so crazy: The thing that probably worried me the most going into this was my chemistry with Tyler, because not only are the two characters iconic in and of themselves, but the relationship is so iconic. I was thinking, “Dear God, I hope I have great chemistry with this guy,” because I had never worked with him before. We really had great chemistry from the beginning. We loved working together, both kind of as friends and as romantic characters. I think we both were really, really vibing the relationship. The scene you saw was the very first scene I filmed, but also that Lois and Clark had together, and it was there. We didn’t have to push, and we didn’t have to fake it.
*  *  *
Beyond the Smallville scenes, how does Lois fit into the crossover?
I’m not in Arrow, so I can’t speak to that, but she’s there a lot of the time with Clark or with Superman, but she is involved, especially in Supergirl. There’s a huge fight sequence, by the way, that’s awesome to the point where, you know, a lot of the time if you’re not in a scene or they’re not using you, you go sit down or go back to your trailer, and I stayed on set [to watch] them film it. It looks so cool! She’s an important part, actually, of that fight. In any episode of TV, there’s a problem, what’s the solution, and typically your main characters are trying to solve it, and she’s adding that to that, “All right, let’s figure this out.”

Yet another interview with The Monitor actor...

LaMonica Garrett On ‘Elseworlds’ Crossover Event, Heavy Superhero Suits, & The Power of Comics
by Megan McLachlan   December 5, 2018
http://www.awardsdaily.com/2018/12/06/lamonica-garrett-elseworlds-cw-interview/

Quote

When it came to filming a character on three different The CW series, Garrett had to summon his own superhuman ability of keeping track of which show he was on.

“Melissa [Benoist], Grant [Gustin], Stephen [Amell]—they’ve done this before. They’re familiar with the other sets and other shows. With me, one day I’m working on Flash, the next day I’m on Arrow, then I’m back on Flash, then I’m on Supergirl. I’m trying to remember names and faces, but everything’s clouding together. It was a challenging schedule, but it was fun to do.”

Plus, this doesn’t even include the challenge of putting on the suit.

“I had my own team to help me put on The Monitor outfit, 40 minutes each time I would put it on and take it off. I couldn’t sit down in between takes. The suit was not very comfortable, but I don’t think any of them are. You’re not just going to put that on and watch a football game. In between takes, I’m standing around, leaning against a wall, the cape is like 15 or 20 pounds, so that’s pulling you back while you’re standing up.”

But it was all worth it, since Garrett was getting to live out his childhood dream.

“You get lost in that world as a kid, and then when you grow up, you’re not supposed to like any of that stuff anymore. It shouldn’t be that way. For a while, [reading comics] was frowned upon, having your head buried in comic books, but now it’s fun, we’re all big kids again. Reality isn’t the best right now, so why not live in this world? This world is fun. It tackles social issues, things that are going on, but it does it in a way that’s not as heavy-hearted. And you get to see people kick ass and fight.”
*  *  *
As a comic book nerd, Garrett isn’t sure what’s in store for his The Monitor character, since he knows the outcome according to the story canon.

“All of the other superheroes are on-going [for the most part]. They just keep going from issue to issue; The Monitor is one of the most iconic figures in the DC Universe because of crisis on infinite earth and because he knew he was going to die, but didn’t and the powers that he had in him he gave to someone else to defeat the bigger crisis that was coming. He knows his own fate, so I don’t know long his show will last. They’d have to get real creative. I’d love it as the actor! I’m not sure how much story there is to tell for The Monitor.”

But if he does get the call for more Monitor, he knows what he has to do.

“I’m going to have to do some more lower-back workouts, because your lower back is on fire from the cape pulling you in the wrong direction.”

Elseworlds crossover star LaMonica Garrett on ‘huge DC figure’ the Monitor and his Arrowverse future
Adam Starkey  Wednesday 5 Dec 2018
https://metro.co.uk/2018/12/05/elseworlds-crossover-star-lamonica-garrett-on-huge-dc-figure-the-monitor-and-his-arrowverse-future-8212391/

Quote

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, LaMonica said: ‘I was already familiar with exactly who he was. When they said the Monitor I didn’t know which version of the Monitor they were doing because there’s a few different ones.’
*  *  *
‘It’s going to be faithful to the comics,’ LaMonica said. ‘A lot of people don’t really understand… they know the Monitor for what he did; like ultimately his sacrifice and what he did to save all the universes. But the writers did a great job of taking the Monitor back a bit and have a little backstory on him without going back billions of years. '
*  *  *
‘The Monitor is like 13 billion years old. They didn’t have to go back that far but they did go back enough to show what he was doing before he came to become this huge figure in DC, and I think that’s where we pick up in the crossover.

‘In the comic books, the Monitor was in the shadows a lot. He was orchestrating things behind the scenes and doing stuff so it’s pretty true to that for the crossover. But his presence will be felt early and often throughout the whole crossover.’
*  *  *
Asked about the Monitor’s future in DC’s plan, however, and Garrett seems uncertain whether he will be coming back.

‘I’m not sure,’ Garrett replied. ‘I’m sure they have an idea of what’s going to play out but they keep everything pretty close to the chest.

'I hope so because a character like this, the sky is the limit. There’s so much you can do with the Monitor, but I’m not really too sure where it goes from here.’

Arrowverse Crossover: Every Character Confirmed For 'Elseworlds'
James Hunt   December 5, 2018
http://whatculture.com/tv/arrowverse-crossover-every-character-confirmed-for-elseworlds

Quote

24. Felicity Smoak
...
One of the core members of Team Arrow, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is expected to be involved across all three episodes, although there'll be a twist with regards to her husband.
*  *  *
23. John Diggle
...
Another key part of Team Arrow, it'd be difficult to have a crossover without John Diggle (David Ramsey) around. While he'll be one of those who has to take more of a backseat role, given the amount of heroes, he should still be important to having some fun with the Barry/Oliver switch, as evidenced by him sparing [sic] with 'Oliver' in the trailer, and it looks like he'll be getting in on the action too.
*  *  *
22. Iris West-Allen
...
As with Felicity, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) is going to be at the heart of the crossover's twist with Barry and Oliver switching. Similarly, it's going to be a lot of fun watching her and 'Barry' be a couple, as it will with Felicity and 'Oliver'.
*  *  *
21. Curtis Holt
...
Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) has been around the Arrowverse for a little while now, but he's still more of a minor player in the grand scheme of crossovers, so it's unlikely he'll have too much to do outside of Arrow's episode.
*  *  *
20. Ricardo Diaz
...
While Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) is one of Arrow's Big Bads, Elseworlds will see him making a switch to the side of good, playing an officer in the Central City Police Department.
*  *  *
19. Joe Wilson
...
The last time we saw Joe Wilson (Liam Hall), he was stopped from killing his father, Slade, by Oliver Queen. He went on the run, and hasn't been seen since Season 6, but he's back in this warped reality as another member of the CCPD.
*  *  *
18. Cisco Ramon/Vibe
...
A core part of Team Flash, it looks like Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will be another character whose life has been completely changed. It's not been made explicit what's going on with him, but the images and teasers paint him as a much darker character, and here he looks like a crime boss. It won't all be bad, though, because the poster has shown him in action as Vibe too.
*  *  *
17. Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
...
Unlike Cisco, it appears that everything is as normal for Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and that she'll still be a part of Team Flash, and no doubt important to helping figure out and reversing the reality switch. There'll also be an appearance from Killer Frost as well.
*  *  *
16. Kara Danvers/Supergirl
...
With Barry and Oliver switched, and also the only ones on their Earth who knows anything has changed, they head off to Supergirl's Earth-38 in search of help, and Kara (Melissa Benoist) will, in turn, be bringing her cousin into the mix.
*  *  *
15. Brainiac-5
...
It's only going to be a small role, but actor Jesse Rath has confirmed he'll be a part of the crossover. Even better, though, is that Supergirl's resident, er, brainiac will be sharing the screen with The Flash's, as he gets to meet Cisco - although what happens remains unclear.
*  *  *
14. Jimmy Olsen
...
While Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) has been serving as the vigilante Guardian on Supergirl, he, like Cisco, will have a markedly different role in Elseworlds. He too has taken a turn to the dark side, and appears to be the leader of a biker gang, which would explain why we've seen Barry and Oliver in biker jackets.
*  *  *
13. Alex Danvers
...
Supergirl's Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) was a whole lot of fun in the Crisis On Earth-X crossover, especially her brief dalliance with Sara Lance, and hopefully they can find something even greater for her to do this time around.
*  *  *
12. Clark Kent/Superman
...
Kara's famous cousin hasn't appeared on Supergirl since the end of Season 2 - although he's been name-dropped plenty - but the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin) will be back in action this time around, as Kara pays him to visit with various Earths in danger. Interestingly, he'll be living at the same farm used in Smallville, opening the door for that show to be brought into the Arrowverse.
*  *  *
11. Lois Lane
...
Clark Kent won't be alone when he returns to Arrowverse action, as this time the universe is finally going to introduce Lois Lane too (played by Elizabeth Tulloch). Lois has been mentioned a number of times, but it's going to be great to actually see her and have her interacting with Kara and the other heroes.
*  *  *
10. Malcolm Merlyn
...
Not seen since the end of Season 5, when he sacrificed himself on Lian Yu to save Thea, John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn is making his long-awaited return to the Arrowverse in Elseworlds. It won't be as we knew him though, with Merlyn another officer in the Central City Police Department.
*  *  *
9. Barry Allen/Flash (Earth-90)
...
One of the most exciting aspects of Elseworlds is the presence of John Wesley Shipp, not as Henry Allen, but Barry. How? Shipp, reprising his role from the 90s TV show, is playing the Flash from Earth-90. This was recently setup in a Supergirl stinger, revealing Flash on his Earth among a slew of fallen heroes, and narrowly escaping Monitor. That leads him to team up with the Arrowverse heroes on another Earth, and seeing him back in action is going to be great fun.
*  *  *
8. Nora Fries
...
Elseworlds is putting a new spin on the usually tragic figure of Nora Fries. The wife of Victor (aka Mister Freeze), it looks like she'll be something of a criminal herself in the crossover. The image above appears to depict her stealing a gun belonging to her husband, which is quite possibly his Freeze Ray. It's unclear if this is a one-off, or if Fries will appear again should the Batwoman series be picked up. Cassandra Jean Amell will play her here.
*  *  *
7. John Deegan
...
Jeremy Davies (Lost, Justified) is taking on the role of one of Elseworlds' main villains, Dr John Deegan. A new creation, he's a doctor at Arkham Asylum, but is actually even crazier than the inmates he treats. Deegan is going to be the one responsible for altering the reality and setting things into motion.
*  *  *
6. Mar-Novu/Monitor
...
Another villain of Elseworlds is Monitor, a villain fans have long been expecting to appear in the Arrowverse. He's been described as 'an extraterrestrial being of infinite power', and is the main foe the united heroes will have to try and stop. Based on the Supergirl stinger and all those dead heroes, that's not going to be an easy task. LaMonica Garrett has been cast in the role.
*  *  *
5. Roger Hayde/nPsycho-Pirate
...
Roger Hayden, better known as the supervillain Psycho-Pirate, often manages to be involved in multiverse stories in the comics, and now he's making the leap to TV. Bob Frazer (The 100) will take on the role for the Arrow and Supergirl episodes, with Hayden an imate [sic] at Arkham Asylum who the heroes will come across as they go to confront Dr Deegan. In the comics, his gold mask gives him the ability to control people's emotions, which will presumably be the case here too.
*  *  *
4. Black Suit Superman
...
Black suit Superman may have been cut from Justice League, but he's made his way into the Arrowverse. Once again played by Tyler Hoechlin, this dark take on Supes will be going up against the heroes, meaning we'll be seeing a Supergirl v Superman clash.
*  *  *
3. Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
...
The crux of Elseworlds is that, in this new reality, Oliver Queen and Barry Allen have swapped bodies, and they're the only two people who know about it. That means Grant Gustin, after years of being the Scarlet Speedster, is going to be donning the Green Arrow costume and fighting (and acting) as though he's actually Oliver Queen, which, to everyone else, he is.
*  *  *
2. Barry Allen/The Flash
...
The flip side of that is Stephen Amell is now trading being the Emerald Archer for The Fastest Man Alive. He has the speedster's powers, and also Barry Allen's home life, which itself is going to be a struggle for him to contend with. Barry and Oliver remain friends even when switched and reality bent, and there should be a lot of Freaky Friday-esque hijinks alongside some great superhero action.
*  *  *
1. Kate Kane/Batwoman
...
Alongside the switcheroo of Barry Allen and Oliver Queen, the other highlight of Elseworlds is going to be the introduction of Kate Kane, better known as Batwoman. Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman, complete with the Bat-symbol and a superb costume, and we're going to be taking a big trip to Gotham City too. This will serve as a backdoor pilot before the actual Batwoman pilot lands next year, potentially leading to a new solo series.

The less Curtis we have, the happier I am.

I really want to know what the ramifications of this crossover will be. As much as I loved last years cross over (with a few parts I could do without) it seemed to be somewhat self contained, beside the death of Stein, Citizen Cold hanging out for a bit on legends, and the weddings. The same with the first crossover, which had some mild things that affected the whole universe, but was mostly an isolated story. Which made some sense, as people who watch one show dont necessarily watch all three, or maybe they dont watch the crossovers, but I hope that something as big as the The Monitor can lead to some real stakes in this universe, and maybe even some new information and changes. It doesent have to change everything, but I would like to see something so major make a real impact. The other crossovers just kind of happened, and were mostly not mentioned afterwards (no one was like "yeah we were busy last weekend, we had some superowered Nazis from another universe we had to deal with" when they got back to their respective shows), and it would be cool to see this being a bigger deal.

Wally mentioned the nazis at Barry and Iris' wedding on Legends and Rip was confused.

I think the crossovers will be mostly self contained for people who don't watch every show with maybe some minor changes.

If they're trying to convince me that this crossover isn't overly male-dominated, I'm not buying it: Melissa Benoist, Ruby Rose preview Supergirl and Batwoman's friendship in 'Elseworlds'

Quote

“We shot a scene in Wayne Enterprises together, and it was just the two of us, just these two women breaking the ice with each other. It’s rare that I get scenes like that. I have scenes like that with Grant and Stephen all the time, but I was very excited to do that with another strong female,” Benoist tells EW.  “I’ve not really gotten to have scenes like this with other female characters [like] Sara Lance [Caity Lotz] or Black Canary [Juliana Harkavy]. In the way that Barry and Kara are so light and such good friends, I think Kate and Kara have a lot more in common and can really understand each other.”

Quote

“It was nice because when Kara met Kate, it was in Kate’s space, and it was fun because there’s this power dynamic,” says Rose, who makes her debut as Batwoman in the crossover. “You got someone like Kara, who is just so sweet and nice, and I think [with] Kate, who is not one to trust people and doesn’t really have a lot of time for what’s happening right now, you see it’s impossible not to be charmed by Kara. You see the warmth in what I think would be a budding friendship. But it’s also really fun making Melissa/Kara uncomfortable.”

Quote

The scene between Kara and Kate ended up becoming one of her favorite moments of the crossover. Says Dries, “I just think that the two actors had really great chemistry, and it was the first time I ever got to see Kate kind of come alive.”

I'm glad they got a scene together though.

Bitsie Tulloch previews Lois Lane's Arrowverse debut in 'Elseworlds' -

Quote

Elseworlds: Grant Gustin On The Costume Switch
Craig Byrne   December 6, 2018
http://flashtvnews.com/elseworlds-grant-gustin-on-the-costume-switch/32384

Quote

The DC TV crossover Elseworlds begins this weekend — Sunday, December 9 at 8PM ET/PT to be exact — and while on the carpet for the Flash 100th Episode Celebration, we asked Grant Gustin who got a better deal out of the costume switch: Grant, getting to wear the Green Arrow suit, or Arrow’s Stephen Amell, having to don the red tights of The Flash?

“So I have mixed feelings, because I got the more comfortable, easier costume in the Green Arrow costume, [and] it was just a joy to be able to put on pants and a jacket with a hoodie,” Grant said.

“But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous seeing Stephen walking around in my suit, and when John Wesley Shipp showed up in his suit, and they were together in their Flash suits, I was, like, pretty mad,” he admitted.

Scheduling and Format
-- The "CW Special 3-Night Crossover Event" is scheduled for Sunday through Tuesday: The Flash on Dec. 9, Arrow on Dec. 10, and Supergirl on Dec. 11. (Aug. 21, 2018 CW_Arrow tweet and TVLine article, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- The 2018 Arrowverse crossover event will include Arrow, Flash and Supergirl (but not LoT) and is intended to serve as a launching pad for a possible Batwoman series. (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: Jul. 22, 2018 DigitalSpy article, page 551 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum), and Jul. 18, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 547 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum)
-- On LoT not being a part of the "Elseworlds" crossover, crossover 'showrunner' MG: "It’s very hard on the crew, it’s very hard on the cast, and we wanted this year to just be a little easier. That’s why we focused on crossing over mainly the leads of the shows and not including a fourth hour... The hard thing about crossing over with Legends is, because that’s an ensemble show, you’re crossing over with the entire cast. That said, there is a Legends cameo in hour 3.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Whereas “Crisis on Earth-X” felt like a four-hour movie, “Elseworlds” returns to the episodic format of the earlier crossovers. Flash EP Todd Helbing: “I think this year, it feels a lot more like individual [episodes]... Flash kind of feels like a Flash episode, Arrow feels like an Arrow episode, Supergirl feels like a Supergirl episode.” Supergirl EP Rovert Rovner: “It’s like a three chapters of one story, but they’re all kind of unique to their own show.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On MG taking the lead on the crossover this year, Arrow EP Beth Schwartz: "I’m now calling him — I coined this term — the ‘showrunner of the crossover episodes' ... He’s been huge, huge in the crossovers, and he’s really on point for those episodes and they’re going to be amazing.” (Oct. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 5 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: "Marc Guggenheim this year actually took over for the crossovers and basically wrote all three scripts, which I thought was a fantastic idea, because it gave one person the chance on building the throughline, because, you know, the first hour is Flash and the second hour is Arrow and the third hour is Supergirl, but that's in names - name only. It might as well be Elseworlds, Hour 1, 2 and 3." (Oct 12, 2018 SA facebook video, page 5 of Spoilers thread and page 5 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Relationship to Arrowverse Shows
-- When asked if the "Elseworlds" title means the crossover is "out of continuity", Marc Guggenheim tweeted: "Nope." (Sep. 26, 2018 mguggenheim tweet, page 3 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- The previous (8th) episodes of each show (Flash, Arrow, Supergirl) will feature puzzling events that drive the action into the crossover. (Pics of Arrowverse crossover article in print issue of TV Guide Magazine, Nov. 26-Dec. 9, 2018, page 10 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether the “Elseworlds” crossover will pick up on any of the storylines from any of the shows or whether it's just its own event, TVLine: "After viewing Parts 1 and 2, we can reveal that the special event, especially Monday’s Arrow hour, will address some ongoing story arcs such as Oliver and Felicity’s 'fraught' relationship (her words!) following his release from prison. Supergirl also chats with her cousin Clark about her recent troubles at the DEO. But don’t expect any follow-up to The Flash‘s recent reveal about Nora, who is absent during the crossover." (Dec. 7, 2018 TVLine article, page 14  of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per KSiteTV, elements of the "Elseworlds" crossover will fix or affect elements from their respective shows (Flash, Arrow, Supergirl). KSIteTV: "Not going into detail here, but Oliver, Barry, and Kara will certainly learn and/or change from their experiences here." (Dec. 9, 2018 KSiteTV article, page 15 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Media Reaction After Screening "Elseworlds" (Parts 1 and 2)
-- GATV tweeted: "Lesson learned from #Elseworlds Part 1: Stephen Amell as "Barry" is very, very funny. Especially when opposite @candicepatton as Iris. Screened the first 2 episodes this afternoon, and both were pretty darn phenomenal." (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweets, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- GATV tweeted: "I didn't mention it in my review, but Part 2 of #Elseworlds (airing on The CW tomorrow night, for #Arrow) may have the best start-of-episode tag I've seen. #NoSpoilers." (Dec. 9, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 15 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- TV Guide's Lindsay MacDonald tweeted: "Pro Tip: Do not be late to the #Arrow episode of this crossover. You will deeply and sincerely regret missing the first 30 seconds." (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- TVLine's Vlada Gelman tweeted: "Narrowing down #Elseworlds quotes for Quotes of the Week is gonna be tough." and "Another wild and crazy Friday night... of transcribing." and "Ditto. Transcribing a certain crossover Q&A. But replace chocolate with takeout." (Dec. 7, 2018 VladaGelman tweets, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

-- Post-credit tag at the end of the 8th episodes of Supergirl, Arrow and Flash set up "Elseworlds" crossover this year. MG: “It’s cool because we’ve never done that before... We’ve done a tag that has been on all the shows, and we’ve certainly never setup the crossover in the previous episodes before.” The tag is a solution to a problem the producers encountered in the crossover writers’ room (or as Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz refers to it, the Super Writers’ Room). MG: “In the writers’ room, we were talking about various cold opens, and we came up with two cold opens that we liked and we couldn’t choose between the two of them... Someone, I forget who, had the idea of, well, let’s not choose; Let’s take one cold open, move that and make that the post-credit tag, like the way The Flash typically does, at the end of all three shows, and then have the other cold open at the beginning of hour one. We get to have our cake and eat it, too, and who doesn’t like that.” (Dec. 2, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

"Elseworlds" Plot
-- CW President Mark Pedowitz: “We’re adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse." MP promised “another full-throttled action packed event.” (The CW Upfronts, May 17, 2018: TVLine article, page 17 of Spoilers/S6 thread and page 530 of Mind Your Surroundings thread, and Entertainment Weekly article, page 529 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum)
-- Per TV Guide: Starting with The Flash (Hour One), Barry (Grant Gustin) wakes up in Star City where everyone thinks he's Oliver Queen, while Oliver (Stephen Amell) wakes up in Central City, where everyone thinks he's Barry Allen. Candice Patton helped SA channel his peppier "inner Barry" for the opening scene. SA: "I was nervous, but if I'm going to be the Flash, I had to embrace the characteristics that make him who he is!" After the two men realize that their own teams don't believe their claims, SA: "They need to find their way to another Earth and see if someone else recognizes them as Oliver and Barry, and not vice versa." So they go to Earth-38, home of Kara/Supergirl. Melissa Benoist: "She's the only one who sees them as they see themselves." Helping them, however, cuts into her family time with her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch). TH: "It was so fun to add that portion of Clark Kent's life to the story and see another side of him." TH added that the iconic pair's "very strong" relationship gets the thumbs-up from Clark's cousin, Kara. We'll also meet legendary DC Comics entity the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) an alien tasked with overseeing the multiverse, who Marc Guggenheim hints may have a hand in the Barry-Oliver anachronism. MG: "He sets in motion the events of the crossover, but I wouldn't call him directly responsible." Per MG, while the Monitor "exists beyond good and evil," the cosmic being will cause problems. He might also be involved in an Earth-changing move that brings back The Flash's John Wesley Shipp, but not as Barry's late father. Instead, JWS will suit up as the Barry Allen he played on CBS' original The Flash back in 1990. Then, on Arrow (Hour Two), a clue leads the heroes to Gotham City, where viewers will get their first glance at Batman's metropolis and at Kate Kane/Batwoman (Ruby Rose). SA: "She gets the most epic introduction." However, the idea is to give fans just a tantalizing tease of the character (a possible spinoff is in the works). RR: "You don't get every bit of Kate and every bit of Batwoman." Batwoman has enough on her plate protecting Gotham solo (Batman has mysteriously vanished) without having to deal with the new do-gooders. RR: "Obviously she's going to help them, but it's kind of an inconvenience." While there is no overarching nemesis, there are some not-so-friendly faces. Jeremy Davies drops in as the mad Dr. John Deegan at Gotham's Arkham Asylum, which also houses Psycho-Pirate (Bob Frazer), a DC Comics heel known to wreak havoc for the Flash. Cassandra Jean Amell (SA's wife) is showing up as Nora Fries, so it's likely we'll at least hear about her horrible hubby, Mr. Freeze. But perhaps the most mind-blowing villain is a black-clad version of Superman from a dark corner of the multiverse, set to throw down with anyone in his path. TH: "There's a lot of fighting... I mean, I fight myself, I fight everybody." Fingers crossed, this showdown culminates in the grand finale, Supergirl (Hour Three). Still, the crossover is not all biff-bang-pow. MB: "This year has been the most fun one to film... My favorite moments were with Grant and Stephen doing comedic scenes - and there are quite a few of them." (Pics of Arrowverse crossover article in print issue of TV Guide Magazine, Nov. 26-Dec. 9, 2018, page 10 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Entertainment Weekly: The three-night crossover event begins with Arkham Asylum doc John Deegan (JD) rewriting reality, which results in Oliver (SA) and Barry (GG) swapping lives. In this new reality, Oliver Queen looks like GG and Barry Allen looks SA, and the two heroes are the only ones who know they’re in the wrong lives and have each other’s powers. GG: “You’re not going to see me playing Oliver Queen’s mannerisms, or Stephen playing Barry’s mannerisms. It’s more being aware that for some reason we’ve switched lives and destinies. It’s more the fun of the situational comedy that we keep finding ourselves in, and less us having a complete role reversal... We get to see Stephen do some of the more goofy speed stuff I have to do on a regular basis, and I get some actual combat as Green Arrow. So, we just see different colors for each of us.” SA: "Having superpowers is crazy! Wearing the Flash suit is crazy! ...The idea is that in order to be the best version of Barry Allen, which I have to be because we face a threat, there are elements of his personality I have to embrace, and there are elements of my personality that he has to embrace.” MB: “My initial reaction in reading the scripts this year was that it would be a hoot to film. The comedy just lives in this. Even just seeing them in each other’s suits is funny; they’re literally putting themselves in each other’s shoes!" Supergirl, gets pulled in because she’s the only one who can see Barry and Oliver for who they really are (the perks of being from another Earth?). MB: “She inevitably becomes kind of a middleman because ultimately there’s conflict between the two and they start butting heads.” Supergirl EP Robert Rovner, “She’s trying to help them navigate what they’re going through and support them and kind of battle their way back to being who they’re supposed to be.” In October 2018, Entertainment Weekly observed crossover filming of scene in which the three heroes (Flash, Green Arrow, Supergirl) find themselves locked up in Gotham City, and it falls on Kara to referee an argument between Barry and Oliver. Crossover 'showrunner' MG: "The most fun aspect about really focusing on the leads is we really had a chance to tell a story about the troika that we’ve never really been able to do before... When you have Legends of Tomorrow part of it, and all of the other secondary and supporting characters, the amount of time we had Grant and Stephen and Melissa on screen together was actually pretty minimal in other crossovers compared to this year.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per CinemaBlend: The Monitor (LG) is in possession of a book capable of rewriting reality. That book (or another) eventually falls into the hands of Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan, who then rewrites reality and switches the lives of Barry and Oliver. Deegan has been shown in promos uncovering the book from a hiding place, although LG's comments to CinemaBlend indicate that Deegan will receive the book via The Monitor's intervention. LG also mentioned "books" as plural, which may mean the book he uses in Earth-90 is different from the book Deegan uses in "Elseworlds." If this is the case and each world has its own book, this might explain why Supergirl is aware that Barry and Oliver's roles have flip-flopped, while folks like Iris and Diggle are none the wiser. It also makes one wonder who else The Monitor may have given books to, and why. Also, there may be some ambiguity to The Monitor's intentions. In DC Comics, The Monitor aided different universes' villains, but it ultimately was a test to see which heroes were capable of facing the Anti Monitor. Again, we're not sure if that's happening in "Elseworlds," but if it is, Barry and Oliver definitely seem to have gotten an easier challenge than the one that JWS's Flash.  (Dec. 4, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: “The whole essence of the crossover is that there is a giant threat coming... What you have is a character called the Monitor, who is basically testing universes to see which universe is going to best be able to withstand the incoming threat.” (Dec. 2, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Reddit user posted spoilers for Arrow 709. (Dec. 9, 2018 reddit's superpyroman post in apinknightmare post, page 15 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Romance/Bromance
-- On whether we can expect some Barry & Iris moments in part 1 of the "Elseworlds" crossover, GATV tweeted: "Absolutely! Candice is in Part 1 a LOT."  (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Flash EP Todd Helbing: "Iris is the first one to come around and be like something is wrong, so it's really a testament to [Barry & Iris's] relationship." (Dec. 3, 2018 Eonline article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Barry being married to Felicity in the wife swap, per GG, “we don’t explore that as much as the Barry/Iris [dynamic]." Per CP, ever the supportive wife, Iris is “really the one that believes [Barry] in terms of him saying that’s Oliver Queen... Barry comes over as the Green Arrow and convinces Iris that he’s really Barry Allen, and they have that connection. She’s kind of the one that brings that back to the team.” (Dec. 3, 2018 TVLine article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- CP: "[Iris] is the one that kind of starts to believe that Barry Allen is who he's saying he is, which is really Oliver Queen... She's kind of the one who figures it out and trusts him." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Fan report on what CP said: "I asked Candice what she could tease about Iris in the crossover. Candice says Iris is hestitant to believe crossover!Olly!Barry about NOT being her husband. “It’s takes a lot of convincing.” But Iris will ultimately believe them and “brings it home.” (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018, iriswestallens tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per TVLine, Monday’s Arrow hour, will address Oliver and Felicity’s "fraught" relationship following his release from prison. (Dec. 7, 2018 TVLine article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On crossover hints, Emily Bett Rickards: "Felicity is very shocked as a character, and also, [she] and Oliver weren't necessarily in the best spot — they're not in the best part of their relationship in this season, so that played into where they sort of lie when all things go to sh--." (Oct. 26, 2018 TV Guide article, page 6 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- In response to fan who asked, "Can we expect any more Oliver and Barry bromance, like hugs, in the crossover?", SA: "No! Although he may have hugged him without Oliver realizing because super speed." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Dec. 5, 2018 Fan Fest video, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- In response to fan who asked, "So someone actually stole my question of whether Barry and Oliver hug. So instead I'm going to ask if there are any bromance or maybe romancing between them in the crossover?", SA: "Yeah, everyone's asking the wrong question. But no hugging." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Dec. 5, 2018 Fan Fest video, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Fan report on what SA said: "@StephenAmell talks odd romance moments in the #Elseworlds crossover, the awkward Iris kiss and another one we haven't seen yet!" (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: geeky_goddess01 tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Fan report on what SA said: "There’s a kiss in the crossover that hasn’t been spoiled yet." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: ElisaQueen tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Fan report on what SA said: "Stephen never said that he was involved in this kiss, btw. Just that it hasn’t been revealed in the promos yet." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018, ElisaQueen tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Reddit user's spoilers for Part 2 of the "Elseworlds" crossover (Arrow 709): "All of them heads back to ARGUS. They try to decipher the look on the book. Oliflash and Fefe made up and made out. John Wesley Shipp in his 90s costume appears and cockblocks Oliflash.." SUMMARY OF "ELSEWORLDS" CROSSOVER SPOILERS - PART 3 OF 5:

Casting News: Kate Kane AKA Batwoman

-- Ruby Rose has been cast to play Kate Kane aka Batwoman. She will make her debut in the 2018 Arrowverse crossover event. (Aug. 7, 2018 The Hollywood Reporter tweet & article, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- The DC crossover will introduce Ruby Rose as Batwoman, who patrols the streets of Gotham as a highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet — in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope. (Sep. 20, 2018 The Hollywood Reporter article, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Batwoman's involvement in the crossover or what form her potential spinoff series could take, CW President Mark Pedowitz said that "Greg [Berlanti] in the early stages of development at this point; we'll know more in the next couple of weeks." He also wouldn't confirm or deny whether Batwoman might play the villain in the Arrowverse crossover, but teased that her role is "big enough that we’ll think about doing a pilot and series with her." (TCA Summer Press Tour, Aug. 6, 2018: IGN article, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- On whether he could rule out Batwoman as a potential villain, CW President Mark Pedowitz: “I can’t even answer that question." (TCA Summer Press Tour, Aug. 6, 2018: Deadline article, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- On RR's portrayal of Batwoman, Batwoman EP Caroline Dries: "As cliché as it sounds, [she had] the X-factor... It’s just that she has that aura of cool, nonchalant, somewhat aloof, mixed with charming and thoughtful and funny that it just kind of all made sense for her to be Kate.” Crossover "showrunner" MG: “She’s a lot like Batman in the sense that she’s kind of a dick... Ruby’s amazing. She brings such a different color and tone. She will interact with our heroes both as Batwoman and as Kate Kane, so you’ll see both sides of that character and that performance.” SA: “I don’t think there could be a better person for it than Ruby... We shot a scene with her last night, and her exchange with Grant was just, ‘Oh, ok, this is Batwoman.’ I think people are really going to appreciate it when [they see it].” Melissa Benoist: “Instead of the trinity, it’s kind of this quadrant, and that’s awesome!” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Batwoman EP Caoline Dries, the scene between Kara (MB) and Kate (RR) ended up becoming one of her favorite moments of the crossover: “I just think that the two actors had really great chemistry, and it was the first time I ever got to see Kate kind of come alive.” (Dec. 6, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Batwoman’s inclusion in the crossover is mainly supposed to function as a tease for her potential solo series. Arrow EP Beth Schwartz: “There’s a lot of mystery to her, which I think will be intriguing, and people will want more after they watch, for sure.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: “We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character... For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.” (The CW Upfronts, May 17, 2018: Entertainment Weekly article, page 529 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum)
-- On the Arrowverse heading toward Gotham City, SA: "This fall during the crossover event that we do, um, myself and probably - probably Barry, will be fighting alongside Batwoman." (Motor City Comic Con, May 19, 2018: Akasuki ShikiHollow video of SA panel, page 1 of Spoilers thread and page 696 of Social Media thread)
-- SA: "Hopefully, he's out of prison to interact with Batwoman. It's kind of a spoiler, isn't it? I'm very excited." (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: Whedonopolis Videos video of press roundtable interview with SA, page 2 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- MB: “We shot a scene in Wayne Enterprises together, and it was just the two of us, just these two women breaking the ice with each other. It’s rare that I get scenes like that. I have scenes like that with Grant and Stephen all the time, but I was very excited to do that with another strong female... I’ve not really gotten to have scenes like this with other female characters [like] Sara Lance [Caity Lotz] or Black Canary [Juliana Harkavy]. In the way that Barry and Kara are so light and such good friends, I think Kate and Kara have a lot more in common and can really understand each other.” (Dec. 6, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- RR: “It was nice because when Kara met Kate, it was in Kate’s space, and it was fun because there’s this power dynamic... You got someone like Kara, who is just so sweet and nice, and I think [with] Kate, who is not one to trust people and doesn’t really have a lot of time for what’s happening right now, you see it’s impossible not to be charmed by Kara. You see the warmth in what I think would be a budding friendship. But it’s also really fun making Melissa/Kara uncomfortable.” (Dec. 6, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Batwoman, RR: "She is more fun because she’s a billionaire, she has ladies that love her. I think, for the most part crossover-wise, she’s swaggy... She always knew who she was, but she’s really coming into knowing who she is in the crossover, and with Batwoman as well. It’s not the first time she’s put on the suit.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Casting News: Lois Lane
-- Supergirl EPs Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner: “We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse... This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.” (Aug. 22, 2018 Deadline, Supergirl.TV and Entertainment Weekly articles, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per That Hashtag Show, here's the casting breakdown for Lois Lane: "The show is looking to cast a Caucasian woman in her early 30s as Lois Lane. Described as the daughter of US General Sam Lane, Lois is a tenacious, righteous and stubborn reporter who will go to any length to get the story and almost never fails. The breakdown reveals that she will appear in The Flash and Supergirl episodes of the crossover event, meaning that the Arrow portion won’t feature her." (Aug. 28, 2018 ThatHashtagShow article, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Elizabeth Tulloch has been cast as Lois Lane in the CW's Arrowverse crossover this year. It wasn't revealed how many episodes she will appear as Lois Lane. (Sep. 14, 2018 TVLine article, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread, and Sep. 14, 2018 Deadline article, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- The CW released a formal portrait pic of TH as Superman and ET as Lois Lane." (Nov. 9, 2018 TVLine article, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On bringing Lois Lane into the crossover, Supergirl EP Robert Rovner: “When we were talking about the story we wanted to send Clark on in the crossover, we were talking about different elements and that’s when we started talking about Lois... We’ve always wanted to bring Lois onto the show. She’s such a great character and we were just excited to be able to have her and she organically fits into the story we were telling in the crossover.” (Nov. 16, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Lois Lane, MB: "She is such a force to be reckoned with, and Elizabeth is perfect for it... The way they’ve written her in this world, she’s a firebolt and really sassy and awesome. I think people will really respond to her.” (Nov. 16, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Lois Lane, MB: "[Kara has] known her for a while in our story, in our universe... But playing scenes with her for the first time, the way they've written her is perfect. I think people and fans especially of that mythology will really love it. And Bitsie Tulloch just nailed it." Also MB: "All of us were beside ourselves. To pay tribute to that show [Smallville] felt good. When you're there, even though it's in Canada, it feels like pure Americana... It's kind of weird. There are some really, really lovely, heartwarming scenes on the Kent farm." (Dec. 3, 2018 Eonline article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Clark Kent and Lois Lane filming on the Kent farm, MB: "I felt like we should’ve been eating apple pie and waving American flags. It was such Americana, and there were pickup trucks and Lois Lane had a toolbox and was working on a car... That iconic relationship of Lois and Clark, [Tyler and Elizabeth] have just totally embraced it.” (Nov. 16, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- HVFF Mod: "The annual crossover event, we're going to not only see Superman act together with Supergirl, but also for the first time, Arrow, The Flash, and - you brought it up, you know, Lois & Clark, I loved that TV show too. You're finally going to get your Lois Lane! How exciting is that?" Tyler Hoechlin: "It's awesome, man. It's awesome. I've been told there's no way we'll be seen on camera together, um - I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I have no idea. I know nothing about it. I don’t know who it is yet. I don't know what the storyline is yet. Um, but it’s obviously - it's really exciting to have a lot of these new characters pop into this one. And it's going to be - I mean, the crossover has always been a huge event, but it seems like a lot of new characters coming into them for the first time this time. So, it should be a lot of fun." ... Fan: "So I haven't had my Lois Lane moment when I ask Superman a question. Um, and speaking of Lois, they share a lot of, um, iconic moments between, like, the interview, um, flying, and, like, you know, him handing her his glasses. Is there anything like that that you're hoping you can do during the crossover?" TH: "Um. It's so - it's so weird because I - we don’t know exactly where in the relationship they are. Um, but it's obviously - you know, our world is one where Superman's been around for awhile. So I would assume the relationship is past that part of it. Um, so I don't know. There's so many things that could come up in it, that I think - for me right now, um, also bouncing around on a couple of  other projects, my mind's so scattered. I'm trying to just leave it open, as opposed to hoping for, like, a specific thing. Uh, I think I just - I'm very much excited for whatever is presented. So I'm kinda going into it just very open-minded. So whatever I see on the page, I'm just kinda like, 'Yes. Great. Awesome. Let's make this as cool as it can be.'" (HVFF-NJ, Sep. 9, 2018: Sep. 12, 2018 Fan Fest video of Tyler Hoechlin panel, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether she and TH had time to work on their chemistry together, ET: "Literally, no. That’s the other thing that was so crazy: The thing that probably worried me the most going into this was my chemistry with Tyler, because not only are the two characters iconic in and of themselves, but the relationship is so iconic. I was thinking, 'Dear God, I hope I have great chemistry with this guy,' because I had never worked with him before. We really had great chemistry from the beginning. We loved working together, both kind of as friends and as romantic characters. I think we both were really, really vibing the relationship. The scene you saw was the very first scene I filmed, but also that Lois and Clark had together, and it was there. We didn’t have to push, and we didn’t have to fake it." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Lois Lane being a reporter and how, when we see her in the crossover for the first time, she's talking to Clark about a story she wants to write, ET: "Yeah, it’s because it’s always in the back of her mind. It’s true. That’s like a family hangout on the Kent farm, and she’s there and she’s happy to be there, but she’s also thinking about the story." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On the first time Lois meets the Flash and Green Arrow, ET: “It was mostly just kind of funny because Lois doesn’t know them... She’s just kind of confused. She’s like, ‘Wait, you’re saying you’re this person, and you’re saying you’re that person? You’re saying you don’t normally look like this?’ So her reaction is different from Clark and Kara’s.” Also ET: “There’s definitely a funny moment that the three of us — Clark, Kara, and Lois — are watching with the two boys sort of having an altercation, of course, because what they’re going through is weird for them. It was really fun. One thing I’ve been emphasizing in all my interviews is just how much fun I had filming, how much fun we all seemed to be having working together. The crossovers are awesome. It was just a really enjoyable experience.” (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On how Lois fits into the crossover, ET: "I’m not in Arrow, so I can’t speak to that, but she’s there a lot of the time with Clark or with Superman, but she is involved, especially in Supergirl. In any episode of TV, there’s a problem, what’s the solution, and typically your main characters are trying to solve it, and she’s adding that to that, 'All right, let’s figure this out.'” (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ET: "My whole life, I've been told, 'You look like Margot Kidder, the Lois Lane from Superman,' ... So I always sort of had her in the back of my head as, like, 'Oh, that's someone people think I sort of look like.' And then when I did start acting, I had an acting teacher tell me to watch the screen test for the Lois Lane role for Christopher Reeves' Superman series." Per ET, apart from Margot Kidder, she hasn't studied other portrayals of Lois, wanting to "bring my own thing to the world." But she tried to infuse the lighthearted side of the character in her own audition, where she and TH actually read a cut scene from one of the original Superman films. ET: "I did it once and [then said], 'I would like to do it where I'm kind of just having a little more fun with Clark, like, messing with him a little.' She totally messes with him... Clark can be so awkward (Laughs)... Then they were like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, do that.' That was sort of my takeaway going into this process, was to just have fun with it." Also ET: "Yeah, it's dramatic, there's a lot of dramatic things going on. There is a lot of action and danger, but she's still always wanting in on the adventure. And that's really the heart and soul of who she is." (Dec. 7, 2018 ETonlne article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On being inspired by Margot Kidder, ET: “I didn’t start acting until I was in my mid 20s... I remember I had an acting teacher tell me to watch the screen test for the Lois Lane role for the original superman trilogy.” Watching those tests, “It was obvious to me why Margot Kidder booked it. She was having so much fun with it … and there was a joie de vivre in every one of her choices. Not only did she have moments of gravity and furiousness and fear … you could just tell she’s having fun.” (Dec. 7, 2018 ETonlne article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Margot Kidder embodying what she loves about Lois Lane, ET: “Lois is kind of sassy, she can be a little abrasive,” she said. “She likes giving Clark a hard time, because Clark can be a little socially awkward and shy, and those are all things I can relate to on a personal level myself.” ET joked that her own husband (former Grimm costar David Giuntoli) tells her she can be a bit too blunt, a la Lois, and she also shared Lois’s affection for her onscreen love, portrayed by TH. ET: “Romantically, we had really good chemistry, as well … he’s so charming and handsome, it was easy for me. He made my job really easy.” (Dec. 7, 2018 ETonlne article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ET: "One of the reasons I love the character is that she has qualities of being so career-driven and determined and sassy and almost a little bit aggressive when she's on a mission, but also really romantic and sweet and so in love with Clark... All of that came through in the writing. These are big episodes... [but] it was definitely enough to get the point across to the fans that this is her personality and this is what she represents and adds to the equation." (Dec. 7, 2018 ETonlne article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ET: "Without giving anything away... [Lois] definitely does have a moment where her involvement is pivotal in a particular fight scene." (Dec. 7, 2018 ETonlne article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ET: "I never worked with Iris, but I’m with Kara, and there is one scene where we are talking about what we do [for a living]. But that is something I’m seeing a lot of on Twitter, that people really want the three journalists together. That’d be cool to do in the future." Casting News: John Deegan
-- In The CW's DC crossover, Jeremy Davies will play John Deegan, a doctor at Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane in Gotham City, who might just be crazier than the inmates he treats. His machinations will draw Green Arrow (SA), The Flash (GG) and Supergirl (MB) to Gotham City. (Sep. 20, 2018 The Hollywood Reporter, TVLine and Deadline articles, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ThatHashtagShow: "Last, but not least, we have the character of Dr. Elias Kern, who the shows are looking to cast a male in his 30s, open ethnicity. Described as a psychiatrist with his own mental health problems, Dr. Kern is a brutal sociopath who appears to be starting to lose his grip on reality. This recurring guest star will be present in all three episodes of the crossover." (Sep. 4, 2018 ThatHashtagShow article,  page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Vimeo video of audition for the role of "Dr. Elias Kern" was posted by actor Jaz Deol. Audition Scene 1 appears to be shared with the character's wife, and Audition Scene 2 appears to be shared with an unidentified villain. Transcription of Audition Scene 1: Reader (off-screen): "Elias -" Jaz Deol: "Just a moment. I need to finish this report." Reader: "We need to talk." JD: "Can it wait?" Reader: "No. I'm leaving you." JD: "What?" Reader: "I want a divorce." JD: "Susan. If this is about -" Reader: "Please. Don't." JD: "If this is about -" Reader: "Don't!" JD: "If this is about the hours I've been working, I'll scale back. I'll quit. I'll get another job." Reader: "This isn't about your -" JD: "I know I have a tendency of burying myself in my work. I"m sorry. I've neglected you and I'm sorry." Reader: "I don't feel neglected." JD: "Then why?" Reader: "You're not a happy man, Elias. You're dark." JD: "I - I know I've had my issues. I'll go back in therapy. I can't lose you!" Reader: "I'm here because you already have." JD: "Susan. Please... I'll change. I'll be better! I'll be whatever you want me to be!" Reader: "What I want is someone who's not so pathetic." JD: "Susan. Please. Susan!"  Transcription of Audition Scene 2:  JD: "This is - what will it do?" Reader (off-screen): "Whatever you want it to." JD: "Will it give me my life back?" Reader: "No. It will give you the means to take back your life." JD: "I told Susan I'd be anything she'd want me to be. I begged her. I begged." Reader: "With that, you won't have to beg any more." JD: "I lowered myself. I debased myself. It was her fault. Susan was a poor influence. Clouded my judgment, made me doubt myself. Acting like that, it was a betrayal. There need to be consequences." Reader: "I've given you the means to exact whatever vengeance you wish." JD: "Oh, I'm not talking about vengeance. I'm talking about justice. A balancing of right and wrong. A balancing of scales. A restoration of how things should be. A resetting of the universe on its axis. She will love me. This time, she'll be the one made to beg. This time, everything will be different. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." (Sep. 3, 2018 Vimeo video of "Dr. Elias Kern" audition by actor Jaz Deol, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Casting News: Mar Novu AKA The Monitor
-- DC tweeted: "The Monitor is joining this year's #DCTV crossover event — #Elseworlds!" (Sep. 26, 2018 DCComics tweet, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LaMonica Garrett has been cast in the role of the Monitor in this year’s Arrowverse crossover event. According to the crossover’s official character description, LG will be playing Mar Novu, an extraterrestrial being of infinite power known as the Monitor. The Monitor was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez as part of DC Comics’ 50th Anniversary.  Mr. Pérez will be illustrating a sketch of the Monitor that plays a prominent role in the crossover’s story. (Sep. 26, 2018 DCComics article, page 3 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Entertainment Weekly revealed the first official poster of LG's multiversal observer, Mar-Novu a/k/a The Monitor. (Oct. 30, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per GG, the Monitor is “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power." GG: "LaMonica was ridiculous, like seeing him in his suit, he’s just a monster... He’s like an absolute unit. He doesn’t have to do a lot with his performance. He’s so intimidating with just these subtleties, so that’s dope.” (Oct. 30, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether this Monitor is a good guy, bad guy or dabbles in shades of grey, LG: "I think that's the fun with like watching it to see what he is going to do. And I think with the Monitor, you can't classify him as good or evil because he's done bad things, but he does it for a purpose in the comic books. He's about that balance. So like I said, on Teen Titans, he was in the shadows, he was doing stuff, he was a weapons deal for villains. Like, why would someone who's good that wants to see all the good in the world, you're giving weapons to super villains. But in the end he sacrifices himself to be the biggest hero in the DC mythology. Like, he set the table for continuity. He did the most heroic thing. So how do you classify that? But I think what you just asked is what people are going to really dig, and watching it throughout the crossover, those questions will be answered." (Nov. 30, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "Like I said, he did bad things for a good cause in the comic books. So, I think some people may think he’s an antagonist and others may get a different take on him, but I think that’s the fun of watching it as well." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: “I knew the significance and [The Monitor's] place in DC mythology, and I know what his name does when fans hear it,” LG, a comics fan himself, tells EW. “When you say, ‘the Monitor is in this crossover,’ people’s ears perk up because they automatically think of the Anti-Monitor [and] Psycho-Pirate.” LG: “He’s vital... He’s not going to be in every other scene. You’re not going to get overloaded with him, but he comes in early, he comes in hard, and his presence is felt throughout the whole three episodes. He’s driving the crossover.” (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On how his Monitor compares to the comics Monitor, LG: "Well, physically they nailed it. They got it on point. Marv Wolfman, he tweeted out, 'Just the look of him and he fits the part.' Now I got to do my job, but I think this Monitor, before he was on Crisis [on Infinite Earths], he was in the shadows. He was a weapons dealer for different villains. So I think the writers did a great job bringing in the backstory on The Monitor without going back billions of years when him and Anti-Monitor we're fighting on the moon and Oa and doing stuff like that. The other Monitors, there have been bad monitors. There've been, you know, like Mandrakk. There have had been evil Monitors. There've been good Monitors. There's the version of Nix Uotan. This Monitor, I think the significance of him is just what he does and what he's been a part of and what he's about." (Nov. 30, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "It’s going to be faithful to the comics... A lot of people don’t really understand… they know the Monitor for what he did; like ultimately his sacrifice and what he did to save all the universes. But the writers did a great job of taking the Monitor back a bit and have a little backstory on him without going back billions of years. ... The Monitor is like 13 billion years old. They didn’t have to go back that far but they did go back enough to show what he was doing before he came to become this huge figure in DC, and I think that’s where we pick up in the crossover. ... In the comic books, the Monitor was in the shadows a lot. He was orchestrating things behind the scenes and doing stuff so it’s pretty true to that for the crossover. But his presence will be felt early and often throughout the whole crossover." (Dec. 5, 2018 Metrok UK article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On auditioning for The Monitor role, LG: "So, I came in and read, and it was dummy sides and dummy names. A few days later, I’m in Vancouver getting fitted for wardrobe and the Monitor’s look, and it just took off from there." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On how he prepared for The Monitor role after getting cast, LG: "I went back and re-read Crisis. So, what I did is find out what he’s about, what his fears are, what drives him, what needs, and like with any character, the rest kind of falls into place." Also LG: "But you’re [dealing with] a cosmic entity, so there are certain things you have to throw in there as well. I don’t have anything of that, so whatever I come up with, that’s just what it is, whether it’s good or bad." Also LG: "He’s this all-powerful being. Them noticing what I was doing, it was kind of cool, but it really wasn’t doing a whole lot and that was the hard part." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On this version of The Monitor, LG: "The wardrobe, hair and make-up department did an excellent job with The Monitor’s appearance. The writers did a tremendous job with bringing in a good amount of backstory of The Monitor without having to go back billions of years to his time on OAs moon fighting his brother. Before 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' (COIE), The Monitor appeared in different comics in the shadows as a weapons dealer to villains. He became one of the greatest heroes in the DC mythology, but he went about it in his own way. So I think we’ve been pretty comic book accurate with The Monitor’s live-action adaptation." (Dec. 7, 2018 The Young Folks article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "The Monitor shows up in the crossover similar to his character pre-COIE. He gives a reality-altering book to [Arkham Asylum] Dr. John Deegan (Jeremy Davies) and chaos ensues. This book will be a focal point throughout the crossover. The Monitor does interact with most of the heroes during the crossover. Some more than others." (Dec. 7, 2018 The Young Folks article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On putting on the Monitor costume for the first time, LG: "I kind of got choked up a little bit. I don’t have to go to the gym on the days where I’m the Monitor, let’s put it that way, but I wouldn’t have it any other way." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: “I had my own team to help me put on The Monitor outfit, 40 minutes each time I would put it on and take it off. I couldn’t sit down in between takes. The suit was not very comfortable, but I don’t think any of them are. You’re not just going to put that on and watch a football game. In between takes, I’m standing around, leaning against a wall, the cape is like 15 or 20 pounds, so that’s pulling you back while you’re standing up.” (Dec. 5, 2018 AwardsDaily article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On his Monitor not having a lot of action scenes, LG: "It'd be extremely difficult for action in that costume. Thank God The Monitor's cosmic, all powerful. He doesn't have to do a lot, and it's fun playing someone like that where you are just that powerful. My old acting coach said if you're carrying a gun, you don't have to yell and scream, the gun does all that for you. And he is the gun. The Monitor, he's that powerful." Also LG: "So there's not a lot of movement, but that suit is restricting, and the cape alone is like, 15-20 pounds. That book that we're using in the crossover, that book's like 30 pounds. You got to pick that thing up with one hand and yield it around. But all the suits, I don't think anyone is just comfortable. Just, 'Oh yeah, I'm gonna put this on and let's go for a walk.' I think they're all uncomfortable to some extent, but I wouldn't change anything like it. It was fun. And thank God I don't have any crazy action scene, but you'll see what I'm talking about when you watch it." (Nov. 30, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: “Melissa [Benoist], Grant [Gustin], Stephen [Amell]—they’ve done this before. They’re familiar with the other sets and other shows. With me, one day I’m working on Flash, the next day I’m on Arrow, then I’m back on Flash, then I’m on Supergirl. I’m trying to remember names and faces, but everything’s clouding together. It was a challenging schedule, but it was fun to do.” (Dec. 5, 2018 AwardsDaily article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On shooting his first scene with the Arrowverse heroes, LG: "It was intimidating. It was surreal, but it was intimidating. ... There was a lot going on. It’s like doing theater when the curtain is about to open and you’re on stage in front of hundreds of people, this is it. To me, that’s living. Some people get their thrills jumping out of a plane, or getting to the top of Mount Everest and snowboarding down — I don’t know. But that moment in time when you’re opposite these actors, and then you’re opposite these characters that you grew up idolizing, and you’re the one they’re all trying to defeat, it was intimidating, but in the best possible way." (Dec. 5, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "It was intimidating. It was intimidating because just not just with the Arrowverse or with, you know, these shows, but as an actor in general, especially guest starring with a nucleus that had been there and they all know each other, you're the new guy coming in, but you have to make it seem like you guys have been doing this in tandem for years. That's the intimidating part of any show that you go on. So with this one, it's even more so, because this character comes in, you know, you don't know if he's a villain, if he's a good guy, he's giving books to people that are doing bad things. You're the villain, you're the enemy, you're the antagonist." (Dec. 4, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "So some actors work method, which means they're going to be standoffish of you. Just being on the Arrowverse, the history of it, they've been doing this year after year. You don't want to come in and screw it up. Like last year, they had a great crossover. I don't want to come in and be like, 'Oh, the crossover was great, but you know, Monitor stuff.' It's a lot of weight on it, but you live for it." (Dec. 4, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On the future of The Monitor, LG: “All of the other superheroes are ongoing [for the most part]. I’m not sure how much story there is to tell for The Monitor.” (Dec. 5, 2018 AwardsDaily article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On the future of The Monitor and when he'll return, LG: "I’m not sure... I’m sure they have an idea of what’s going to play out but they keep everything pretty close to the chest... I hope so because a character like this, the sky is the limit. There’s so much you can do with the Monitor, but I’m not really too sure where it goes from here." (Dec. 5, 2018 Metrok UK article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per LG, his Monitor will pave the way for the Arrowverse to introduce other Monitors down the stretch. Obviously, this opens the door to far more storylines that aren't "Crisis on Infinite Earths," and could allow Garrett to reprise his role in future storylines or crossover specials. (Dec. 4, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- LG: "Like right now, it sets the stage for all the other Monitors come. So I think there is a difference between the other Monitors. Like after everything happened and there was Monitors assigned to each multiverse, to each Earth. So there was 52 of them, but the significance of the first one, without the first, none of none of the rest of them happened." (Nov. 30, 2018 CinemaBlend article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- ThatHashtagShow: "Starting off, we have the character of Lon-El that is said to be a male of any ethnicity in his 40s, with the potential to play older than their actual age. Lon-El is described as a mysterious visitor who is from another planet and is both ambiguous, inscrutable and has the power that is teased as nearly infinite. The breakdown specifies that this major recurring guest star has the potential to appear for post-crossover episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl as well as Legends of Tomorrow, some as just a small cameo." (Sep. 4, 2018 ThatHashtagShow article,  page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Vimeo video of audition for the role of "Lon-El" in the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl crossover was posted by actor Ty Olsson. Both of the two auditions scenes appear to be shared with Superman. Transcription of Audition Scene 1: Reader (off-screen): "I''m not going to let you destroy the world." Ty Olsson: "This world's yellow sun gives you great power, Kal-El. But you would need far, far greater to permit me to do anything." Reader: "The Earth is under my protection." TO: "As charming a notion as that is, you are mistaken in two key respects. Firstly, I am not the author of this world's demise." Reader: "You brought the monster -" TO: "And second, you think this world is special." Reader: "You can't just allow billions of people to die." TO: "Your protest shows your lack of perception, Kal-El. For all your super hearing and x-ray vision, you are both deaf and blind. You speak of 'billions' as if that number is meant to awe me. I deal in the infinite, Kal-El." Reader: "It doesn't matter. Life is life." TO: "And where is that philosophy when you trample an ant hill? You think this world is one of 52 parallel Earths." Reader: "Earths I will protect." TO: "You can't! The number is far, far greater, Kal-El. You speak of billions of people. I speak of trillions of Earths, as many as grains of sand on a beach that stretches to eternity. Do you see? Do you see now how blind you've been? How naive. And in this profound ignorance lies your profound impotence. If you are this world's only protector, then it has my pity." Transcription of Audition Scene 2: TO: "Kal-El. You seem distressed." Reader (off-screen): "Don't mock me, Lon-El." TO: "Not my intention. But clearly I'm having difficulty hiding my satisfaction." Reader: "Fine, you were right. I'm here to negotiate." TO: "What makes you think there's a bargain to be struck? Your world is already at its end." Reader: "There's always a way. There's always hope." TO: "For one whose whole planet was already destroyed, your optimism is impressive. And now, with your adopted planet facing a similar fate, your naivete in the face of the apocalypse is almost admirable." Reader: "You brought that monster here. You can stop it." TO: "And what do I get in return? You said you came to negotiate, Kal-El. On Krypton, a bargain is one thing given in exchange for another. Or is it somehow different here? Hmm?" Reader: "What do you want?" TO: "Oh, I want many things, Kal-El. Chaos. Entropy. The multi-verse ripped asunder. But really, it's not a matter of what I want, but a matter of what you're prepared to give." Casting News: Roger Hayden AKA Psycho-Pirate
-- Per EW, the “Elseworlds” crossover will feature the DC Comics character Roger Hayden, better known as the supervillain Psycho-Pirate. Played by guest star Bob Frazer, the character will appear in the Arrow and Supergirl installments of the crossover as an inmate at Arkham Asylum, which just happens to be where Green Arrow, the Flash and Supergirl will cross paths with Dr. John Deegan. EW: "For the uninitiated, Psycho-Pirate is a character with a confusing comic book history. All you really need to know about the character is that his gold Medusa Mask gives him the power to manipulate people’s emotions, and, more importantly, he always somehow manages to play an important role in DC’s biggest multiverse stories. In fact, he was one of the only characters to remember the multiverse after it was erased by the epic crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths (a.k.a. the story that The Flash has been hinting at with a future newspaper since its pilot)." (Nov. 2, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per TVLine, Bob Frazer will guest star during the three-night “Elseworlds” event as Arkham Asylum inmate Roger Hayden. TVLine: "In the DC Comics’ Prime Earth universe, Hayden was known as Psycho-Pirate, a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains who wore a Medusa mask that could manipulate emotions. The mask eventually drove Hayden insane. The Flash‘s Season 5 premiere made reference to Hayden/Psycho-Pirate, who is quoted in Iris’ article about the speedster’s disappearance in the future... 'Research has focused on Roger Hayden, a.k.a. Psycho Pirate, who claims to remember the night’s events,' the article says. 'He said upon his arrest,"Worlds lived, worlds died. Nothing will ever be the same."'" Psycho-Pirate will appear in the Arrow and Supergirl episodes of the crossover. (Nov. 2, 2018 TVLine article, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

Casting News: Nora Fries
-- Cassandra Jean Amell will play "supervillain Nora Fries" in the CW's Arrowverse crossover this year. Nora Fries is the wife of Victor Fries AKA Mr. Freeze. However, Mr. Freeze will not be making an appearance. (Sep. 14, 2018 TVLine and Deadline articles, page 2 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA tweeted pic of his wife, Cassandra, as Nora Fries, looking at a weapon in a box that's labeled "Fries, V." (Nov. 29, 2018 SA tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: "Well my wife is playing Nora Fries in the crossover, which is very exciting. It was amazing being on set with my wife and I’m very proud of her. And if you follow me on social media, you know that I let my daughter direct episodes of the show now. She’s not allowed to be a professional actor, ever." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: FanFest article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

No Batman
-- On whether Batman will be in the crossover, MG tweeted: "Batman won’t be in it. [crying face emoji]" (Nov. 2, 2018 MG tweet, page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Batwoman EP Caroline Dries: “Our approach is: What does Gotham look like after the Batman has been gone for three years? So if you have the law and order, protector, and hope gone, what happens as a result?... Some people are thriving in his absence because now they can start to do their own thing without the oversight. A lot of other people are suffering and they’re losing hope, and the city itself and infrastructure is falling apart. So it’s not a happy place. Our guys walk into a grimy, scary Gotham.” Crossover 'showrunner' MG: “It’s a dead city... The way I sort of described it to Stephen is, it’s there but for the grace of God goes Star City. It’s the worst case scenario. The reason no one talks about Gotham is the city might as well be dead. It’s practically a ghost town.” (Nov. 19, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 10 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Outside of Gotham, there is a question of whether or not Batman is even real. In fact, Barry, Oliver, and Kara will argue about this in “Elseworlds.” GG: “Oliver is like, ‘He’s not real! They’ve made him up! It’s a hoax just to scare the citizens.’ Barry is flabbergasted by that and all he wants to do in Gotham is meet Batman. It’s a pretty funny scene." SA: “Oliver is not enthused about the idea that there might be some other vigilante out there.” (Nov. 19, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 10 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

-- TH's Superman will be in all three crossover episodes (Flash, Arrow, Supergirl). (Aug. 22, 2018 Deadline, Supergirl.TV and Entertainment Weekly articles, page 1 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per WhatCulture, the following DC and Arrowverse characters will appear in the "Elseworlds" crossover: Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, BarryAllen/Flash, Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Kate Kane/Batwoman, Clark Kent/Superman, Dark Superman, Felicity Smoak, John Diggle, Curtis Holt, Iris West-Allen, Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Alex Danvers, James Olsen, Braniac-5, Barry Allen/Flash (Earth-90), Mar-Novu/Monitor, John Deegan, Roger Hayden/Psycho-Pirate, Nora Fries, Malcolm Merlyn, Ricardo Diaz and Joe Wilson. -- Per ComicBook.com, the following DC and Arrowverse characters will appear in the "Elseworlds" crossover: Green Arrow, Oliver, Diggle, Felicity, The Flash, Barry, Iris, Cisco, Caitlin, Supergirl, Kara, James Olsen, Superman, Dark Superman, Lois Lane, Batwoman, Malcolm Merlyn, Joe Wilson, Ricardo Diaz, The Monitor, The Trigger Twins, John Deegan, Nora Fries, John Wesley Shipp's Flash, J'onn J'onzz and Brainiac-5." (Nov. 30, 2018 ComicBook article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
– KSiteTV: "While there are some folks missing, The Flash chapter heavily features members of that show’s cast, and likewise, the Arrow cast is mostly represented in the Arrow chapter. Likewise, some people are heavy in both; John Diggle, Cisco Ramon, and Caitlin Snow are all heavily featured in both of the first 2 parts. From clips and trailers it looks like the Supergirl cast is well used in Part 3. There are some exceptions, though: Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Nora is apparently still where we saw her at the end of last week’s Flash, and Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance isn’t seen, though in a way she does get one of the best lines of Part 2." (Dec. 9, 2018 KSiteTV article, page 15 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether there is any good stuff for Felicity or Diggle, GATV tweeted: "Absolutely. Diggle is heavily in both Parts 1 and 2, and Felicity gets some good moments in Part 2."  (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per ComicBook.com, Felicity Smoak hasn't been seen in any of the crossover photos or trailers yet, "so we can assume that her role is either a twist, or fairly small, or both." That said, ComicBook.com "has heard that Felicity will take part in the crossover...her role just has not yet been revealed." (Nov. 30, 2018 ComicBook article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Reddit user's spoilers for Arrow 709: "There's a lot of fefe in this ep not lot lot but a lot... edit: at least a lot for a crossover." (Comment in Dec. 9, 2018 reddit's superpyroman post thread in apinknightmare post, page 15 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "One of the core members of Team Arrow, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is expected to be involved across all three episodes, although there'll be a twist with regards to her husband." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "As with Felicity, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) is going to be at the heart of the crossover's twist with Barry and Oliver switching. Similarly, it's going to be a lot of fun watching her and 'Barry' be a couple, as it will with Felicity and 'Oliver'." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Bustle, Iris is only in The Flash episode out of all three crossover hours, but her role is pretty important. CP: "She is the one that kind of starts to believe that Barry Allen is who he's saying he is, which is really Oliver Queen... She's kind of the one who figures it out and trusts him." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- GATV tweeted: "Candice is in Part 1 a LOT."  (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "While [John Diggle (David Ramsey)] will be one of those who has to take more of a backseat role, given the amount of heroes, he should still be important to having some fun with the Barry/Oliver switch, as evidenced by him sparing with 'Oliver' in the trailer, and it looks like he'll be getting in on the action too." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) has been around the Arrowverse for a little while now, but he's still more of a minor player in the grand scheme of crossovers, so it's unlikely he'll have too much to do outside of Arrow's episode." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "A core part of Team Flash, it looks like Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will be another character whose life has been completely changed. It's not been made explicit what's going on with him, but the images and teasers paint him as a much darker character, and here he looks like a crime boss. It won't all be bad, though, because the poster has shown him in action as Vibe too." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- CV is in the "Elseworlds" crossover and potentially in more than one role. CV: "Something that I love about this show is that all the different universes and different realities we get to play around with, it gives me a chance to play around with my character,... I think fans can definitely expect more of that play in this crossover [with another universe's version of Cisco.] Look, you said it. Not me. Okay?" (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "Unlike Cisco, it appears that everything is as normal for Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and that she'll still be a part of Team Flash, and no doubt important to helping figure out and reversing the reality switch. There'll also be an appearance from Killer Frost as well." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
--- DP's role in the "Elseworlds" crossover might be more than what fans are expecting. DP: "You're definitely going to see me in all of the crossovers... Obviously The Flash episode is first, and then in the Arrow episode Caitlin and Cisco go to help Barry as well, and then the Supergirl episode, I'm in that as well. Yes, I would say that is safe to assume I'm [playing multiple roles]. It's going to be fun." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- WhatCulture: "While Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) has been serving as the vigilante Guardian on Supergirl, he, like Cisco, will have a markedly different role in Elseworlds. He too has taken a turn to the dark side, and appears to be the leader of a biker gang, which would explain why we've seen Barry and Oliver in biker jackets." (Dec. 5, 2018 WhatCulture article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per TVLine, Caitlin and Killer Frost both play an active role in the "Elseworlds" crossover, with the former sharing a heart-to-heart with Felicity. (Dec. 7, 2018 TVLine article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether Killer Frost is present in the crossover, GATV tweeted: "She is very present in the two chapters I saw." (Dec. 8, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Tom Cavanagh and Hartley Sawyer are also in the "Elseworlds" crossover. (Dec. 7, 2018 CW_Arrow tweet, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum, and Dec. 7, 2018 The CW video titled "Elseworlds | Behind-the-Scenes" video, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per ComicBook.com, during a recent visit to the set of Arrow, Juliana Harkavy said that she would not be appearing in the crossover, while Rick Gonzalez simply teased that fans will "have to wait and see," neither confirming nor denying. (Nov. 30, 2018 ComicBook article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether Laurel is in the crossover, GATV tweeted: "She is mentioned, but no, not seen in what I have seen." (Dec. 7, 2018 GreenArrowTV tweet, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA tweeted crossover dialogue tease: "Hello John. ... Do I know you? ... #Elseworlds." (Dec. 5, 2018 SA tweet, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)

(Oct. 24, 2018 Entertainment Tonight video of interview with EBR, page 6 of Spoilers thread, page 288 of Starling City Times thread in Arrow forum and page 7 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether we'll get any Felicity/Batwoman interaction in the crossover, EBR: "One can dream, everyone. One can dream. Um, I have yet to work with Ruby. Um, but we've gotten to hang, so that's great. I'm so excited for her character. So excited for her to be on the show. Um, crossover's coming up. Things get intense. We've seen some switches. We've seen some swaps." (Oct. 24, 2018 PeopleTV tweet & video, page 6 of Spoilers thread and page 289 of Starling City Times thread in Arrow forum, and page 7 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- DR: "But speaking of Diggle's future, all I can say is this: there's a big tease about Diggle's future in the crossover." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 2, 2018: lemotomato post, page 58 of Spoiler Discussion Sequel thread)
-- DR: "But, you know, we haven't seen Diggle in the future yet. And, um, I think you guys are going to get a nice treat, um, in the crossover."  Later, DR: "We got to represent the older folks, right?" (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 2, 2018: Dec. 3, 2018 steven alvarez video, page 7 of Spoilers thread and page 741 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum, Fan Fest article, page 57 of Spoiler Discussion Sequel thread in Arrow forum, and page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- DR: "You may see [Diggle's family] in the crossover, I'm not quite sure." (Sep. 20, 2018 ExtraTV tweet & video, page 4 of Spoilers thread and page 13 of Spoiler Discussion Sequel thread in Arrow forum)
-- Fan report on what DR said: "Felizity and Diggle do have a big part on the crossover." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Felizity_reina tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On whether Curtis is part of the crossover, EK: "Yeah, I did get to be a part of the cross-over. It was really cool. It definitely has a different feel, and it’s awesome. It was really awesome to be on set, during this cross-over, and get to work with everyone, to get to see Grant and Stephen like I’ve never seen them before, and to get to work with John Wesley Shipp. It was the coolest. I feel like this whole interview is just me saying that I’m blown away and can’t believe my life, but it was just one of those moments where you have to take it in and be like, “Woah, this is my life. This is what I do.” It was very, very awesome to be a part of the cross-over this year." On a specific stand-out moment for him, EK: "Absolutely, there was a moment. The biggest moments for me were when I got to work with John Wesley Shipp. I can’t really go into detail on what was happening in the scene, but I had to keep reminding myself to stay in the scene and not get lost in working with him." (Oct. 29, 2018 Collider article, page 6 of Spoilers thread and page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- EK: "We just shot the crossovers and I got to work with John Wesley Shipp." (Oct. 29, 2018 Nerdist video interview with EK, page 6 of Spoilers thread  in Arrow forum and page 8 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread of LoT forum)
-- On the crossover, DP: "I was saying to Beth Schwartz that I’m excited about this crossover because it feels a little bit more like the first one we did. It’s going back to a much smaller cast of characters doing the crossovers this time, going from show to show. There’s really not that many of us. It’s nice. It actually feels a little nostalgic. And the shows have new characters, so I get to travel and play on other shows." (Oct. 16, 2018 Collider article, page 5 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- One "Elseworlds" crossover promo pic showed three CCPD cops, who are played by John Barrowman, Liam Hall and Kirk Acevedo. Producer/Cast Comments
-- In September of 2017, MG said that he was talking with Andrew Kreisberg about an "arena" idea for the 2018 Arrowverse crossover. (Video interview with MG in Sep. 6, 2017 Collider article, page 6 of Spoilers/S6 thread and page 358 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum)
-- In January of 2018, MG hinted that they might not go the typically comic book-inspired route of bringing every character together for an epic battle, much like they did in "Crisis on Earth-X" and in "Invasion!" That said, the plans are still up in the air. MG: "We haven't talked any specifics but we have talked about a general agreement of thinking outside the box and doing something a little differently than what we've done in the past... What that is, I have no idea. None of us really know." (Jan. 13, 2018 ComicBook article, page 12 of Spoilers/S6 thread and page 469 of Mind Your Surroundings thread in Arrow forum)
-- On the "Elseworlds" crossover, MG: "No one knows what we're doing yet... It's a different kind of story than what people are expecting... I saw a couple of things today in the editing rooms that literally like people are going to go nuts about. What I love about this year's crossover is that it's, you know - the last two years, it was, you know, parallel Earths, Nazis, and it was alien invasion, and really, you know, huge big stuff. And this stuff, for a variety of reasons, we intentionally decided to go a bit smaller. But there's more - I think there's more 'I can't believe they did this' comic book fan, you know, wonderful stuff that, um - than we've had in the previous four years combined." (Oct. 27, 2018 Comic Book Central article & podcast interview with MG, page 7 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Arrow EP Beth Schwartz: “This one doesn’t feel quite as dark as last season’s... Obviously there were Nazis last season. I definitely think there’s a lot more fun to be had in the crossover this year.” (Oct. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 5 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- James Bamford: "I'll be directing the [Arrow] crossover again this year. It will be episode 9, not episode 8, this year. So it will also be the midseason finale." (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: Jul. 24, 2018 haydenclaireheroes video of press roundtable interview with James Bamford, joined by Beth Schwartz, and Jul. 26, 2018 TheBatmanUniverse article, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- James Bamford posted b-t-s pic of EBR forming heart with her hands while looking at monitor screens of Supergirl, Barry/GA, JWS' Flash and Oliver/Flash, with comment: "@emilybett giving me a hand with motivation for our characters in hour two of next week's #Elseworlds Crossover Event......." (Dec. 5, 2018 james2bambamford instagram post, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On the 2018 crossover, SA: "I personally think that, I don't know how we scale up more... unless all the productions shut down and we - I don't know, just shoot it like you would a feature film. Um, but what you could do, I think, you could make it a little bit more of a character-based story and, you know, maybe it's about one or two characters from each show being sequestered out somewhere. I don't know. I'm not a writer. I just say the words. And then after the fact, I critique them. But I certainly create nothing on my own." (Nov. 28, 2017 SA facebook video, page 649 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- On how they're going to top the last big crossover, SA: "I don't think we can... You don't to top something. Something doesn't have to be bigger for it to be better. Something can just be different or more interesting. I think it's always about, like, um, having characters that don't interact with one another interact with one another, and just - give the fans what they want. Yeah. Yeah." (Dec. 7, 2017 SA facebook video, page 653 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- On the next big crossover, SA: "I don't know what the next scaling step is. I'm sure it exists, but I'm not sure how to do it without cloning me. Um, so I think it might be interesting to get a few select characters from all of the shows and maybe make it more of a character-driven piece and less of an event - less of a stage. More of seeing these characters interact and having it be more of an actor piece. You know, maybe that would be more interesting, maybe it wouldn't. I don't know. That's what I would like." (HVFF-Chicago, Apr. 8, 2018: Apr. 12, 2018 Wayward Fanboy video of SA panel, page 16 of Spoilers/S6 thread and page 682 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- Per SA, he knew all of the details of the 2018 Arrowverse crossover event, adding that whereas in the past they have gone “big” — fighting aliens and Nazis from another Earth, for example — this time the premise would be “very specific.” (The CW Upfronts, May 17, 2018: TVLine article, page 17 of Spoilers/S6 thread in Arrow forum)
-- On the 2018 Arrowverse crossover, SA: "I know the entire thing... We can't go bigger than we went last years, so we're going more specific." (The CW Upfronts, May 17, 2018: May 19, 2018 TVLine video of red carpet interview with SA, page 1 of Spoilers thread and page 696 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: "When Greg [Berlanti] pitched it to me, I was like, 'oh man, that's awesome. Really.' Because we went so big with the crossover last year, we can't go bigger. We have to go more about, like, the characters and the story." (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: Showbiz Junkies video of press roundtable interview with SA, page 2 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum), and Jul. 25, 2018 FanFest article, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: "I do know that, in the crossover this year, I get to work with a major character that I have never worked with before." (Motor City Comic Con, May 19, 2018: Akasuki ShikiHollow video of SA panel, page 1 of Spoilers thread and page 696 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: “Oliver’s interaction with Batwoman is not the interaction in the crossover I’m most interested in... Then again, I have to get out of prison." (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: Jul. 26, 2018 TheBatmanUniverse article, and Jul. 24, 2018 WithAnAccentTV video of press roundtable interview with Beth Schwartz and SA, page 3 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: "Also, there's going to be, like - I feel like there's a character in the crossover that actually, like, no one knows about yet, which is also very exciting." (SDCC, Jul. 21, 2018: GeekRock TV video of press roundtable interview with SA, page 2 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- On how excited he is to have Green Arrow meeting Superman in this year’s crossover, SA: "The crossover in general — it sounds to me like what I’ve been hoping for for a while. [For the crossovers] we would get bigger, and bigger, and bigger, but at a certain point, we have to pare it down a little bit and do more of a character-driven story, so we’re really focusing this year on a core five [characters]: Oliver, and Barry, and Supergirl, and Superman, and Batwoman. That’s more exciting for me, because it’s more of a character piece. I’m sure that there will still be oodles of action, but the possibility of Oliver and Clark Kent interacting is … I mean, it’s exciting! What else can I say? I was a fan before I was a part of this whole world, and the chance for those two characters to meet is really great." (Oct 10, 2018 GreenArrowTV article, page 5 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: "I haven’t spoken with Ruby yet. I know absolutely everything about the crossover, and there is literally nothing I can say about it. Ruby doesn’t need my help, at all. But I have always taken great pride when we have a new character — this situation is very similar to when Grant [Gustin] was introduced as Barry Allen on our show. You effectively have an episode that is this person’s story, but they’re dropping into a world where everyone is familiar with one another, there are no nerves, everyone knows how it works. Even if she doesn’t feel it, I feel like there’s a great deal of pressure on Ruby. I would just hope that if she needs anything from me, she wouldn’t hesitate to ask." (Oct. 10, 2018 Variety article, page 4 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: "I wouldn’t call it the most rewarding, but it was the most fun that I’ve had maybe ever throughout the course of doing the show... We had a blast. I think that the crossovers this year, even if we don’t have as many DC characters necessarily as we did last year, this feels like the first time or at the very least the best example of us just embracing the fun of it all and embracing all of the opportunities that we have because of all of the things that we’ve had a chance to do over the years." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: "The crossover this year is something that I'm incredibly proud of... They released 8,000 photos for it. And I'm just gonna release one today because it was a secret until they released a bunch of photos and promo mentions. Now I'm just gonna release it because it's amazing. It's me, Grant and Melissa - somewhere. And I think you'll really enjoy it. But the crossover this year was so much fun to film. Between our three fantastic directors, Kevin, James and Jesse, um, the help of Caroline with the whole Batwoman storyline, the addition of Ruby, um, getting to work with my wife for the first time ever for the two of us professionally, and getting to go to Gotham City and Earth-38, and Central City like always. And a spot-on Earth-38, if they release a promo for that, I'm going to freak out, because it's, you know, so cool. And a lot of opportunities were born out of the crossover. A lot of things that certainly have not been spoiled. As much as you guys have seen from the crossover, I promise you really don't know anything. I promise. It's really, really exciting. And, I think, breeds opportunities for some really good friends of mine that I hope they get the chance to pick up and run with. I'm very proud of it. I hope everyone enjoys it. I'll tweet a bunch during it, I think. Yeah, I probably will. I probably will." -- On how much training GG needed to look competent to use the bow and if he trained with SA to copy his moves, SA: "He actually trained with who I trained with. He trained with Patricia Gonsalves, and she took him out for a couple of lessons. And, um, I mean, he never even asked me. He's like - he never asked me a single thing. Because he didn't need to. Because she was there. And because our director for the majority in his combat as Arrow, coming in, I think, the Arrow episode - I'm pretty sure that's the case - would've told him. He looked great. The introduction of Grant as Green Arrow is one of the best combat scenes that I've seen on the show this year that didn't happen in episode 707 (because I'm biased). But Grant did really, really well." (Nov. 29, 2018 SA facebook video, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum, and page 7 of Spoilers thread and page 740 of Social Media thread in Arrow forum)
-- SA: "When I’m on Arrow and when I get pants - the new leather pants, we call it New Pants Day, because it's terrible. Because for two days I can’t breathe with these pants on. So when I put the Flash suit on for the first time, it was like that, except my entire body. So, in between takes - in between takes - if it looks like I’m uncomfortable, it’s because I am. Okay? I'm not getting into the details. We're not going to get into the details. Suffice it to say, when they yelled action, for a brief moment in time, I took the scowl off my face and pretended to be Barry Allen." -- SA: "There's a line that was cut, I'm so mad that it was cut. I think it was because I made fun of the Bat Signal. (Audience laughs)  I did. I don't think they liked it. I don't think that they liked it. Grant points to the Bat Signal and he goes, 'Huh?' And I go, 'So what? It's a stupid signal.' That actually happened." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Dec. 5, 2018 Fan Fest video, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
That was a really fun scene to shoot." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Dec. 5, 2018 Fan Fest video, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- SA: "There's some really fun, comedic moments in -certainly, definitely the first hour of the crossover for sure. And one of the things that meant a lot to me was that, you know, Marc Guggenheim talked about how, when they pitched this to the network, one of the ways that they got them to sign off on it was that they assured them that, from a comedic standpoint, I was, you know, true to the task." (HVFF-San Jose, Dec. 1, 2018: Dec. 5, 2018 Fan Fest video, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum not being in the crossover, SA: "Long story short, it is not a Smallville reunion, although I think it becomes pretty clear in the promos for the crossover that there are Smallville elements, at least in terms of location. And if you're a fan of Smallville - and I have no idea if they're going to keep this in the final cut - but there is a treat for you in there that, I swear - full disclosure, I have never seen an episode of Smallville before. Sorry, I wasn't that into comic book TV shows when I was growing up. I've since seen a couple, for very obvious reasons. But, um, as someone who wasn't a diehard fan of Smallville, this moment in the crossover made me jump out of my seat. If you're a fan of Smallville, you may want to put down rubber sheets or something like that, because, frankly ,you might piss your pants." -- SA tweeted: "Oliver: I spent the past seven months in a maximum security prison and no matter how bad things got -- AND THEY GOT BAD -- every cell had a toilet. #Elseworlds." (Dec. 3, 2018 SA tweet, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On who he thought was better at playing the other person, SA or him, GG: "He was doing more things that he thought I would do... He kept coming to be me and being like, do you think you would do this as Barry Allen?" Also GG: "He's not very animated, you know, as Oliver, and I can't help but be animated, so even as Oliver, I'm still like, kind of animated. And he was trying to find ways to to do things like that." (Dec. 3, 2018 Eonline article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- GG: “It feels like it’s going to be our strongest crossover, our funniest crossover. I don’t know what fans are excited for, but I’m excited just to see Superman, Flash, Supergirl, Green Arrow, and Batwoman all on screen togehter. It’s pretty amazing.” (Nov. 15, 2018 Entertainment Weekly article, page 9 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On who got the better deal in the costume switch, him or SA, GG: “So I have mixed feelings, because I got the more comfortable, easier costume in the Green Arrow costume, [and] it was just a joy to be able to put on pants and a jacket with a hoodie. ... But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous seeing Stephen walking around in my suit, and when John Wesley Shipp showed up in his suit, and they were together in their Flash suits, I was, like, pretty mad." (Dec. 6, 2018 FlashTVNews article, page 13 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- GG: "I think I had, at one point, a 30-minute archery lesson before we started filming which was like, you know, not enough time to learn archery... But thankfully there was someone with me on set to like, every time I was doing something wrong, she would run in and be like, yo, yo, yo, get your elbow down! Get your elbow down!" During media set visit, GG laughed as he mimed holding a bow incorrectly with his elbow all the way up by his ear. GG: "She was constantly correcting me... It's very technical and that was the hardest part. You can't really think about what you're doing while you're acting. Hopefully I looked fine." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- MB: "What I liked the most about this year's crossover—I think more than any other crossover that we've done so far, aside from the musical episode which was my favorite, I had so much fun doing that one, but this one was so fun in particular because it really was the triad, so to speak, the three of us... And Kara plays a really fun role in this dilemma that Barry and Oliver find themselves in. She's the only one that really recognizes them for who they are in this Freaky Friday situation. And it's really comedic. The whole thing. I think people will really get a kick out of it." (Dec. 3, 2018 Eonline article, page 12 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- MB: "Kara plays a really fun role in this dilemma that Barry and Oliver find themselves in. She's the only one that really recognizes them for who they are in this Freaky Friday situation... -- On her reaction to the Oliver and Barry body swap, EBR: "So, my mouth, like, fell on the floor and then I had to, like,surgically get it put back on... Seeing that suit in reverse is jarring, and quite special. I'll be getting a lot of behind-the-scene footage." She then talked about how SA's GA stunt double, Will, was wearing the Flash suit, and he told her that people treated him differently when he wore the different suits: "The Flash suit, people want to hug me. The Arrow suit, they want to punch me... You get so hurt in the Arrow suit... I put on this one, people are like, 'I want to cuddle.'" She thought that GG looked "dope" in the Green Arrow suit. -- CP: "It was amazing.. Stephen has always been so generous and kind to me since I joined the universe. I have a lot of respect for him as an actor, as a man, as someone leading his own television show. He was very excited to play Barry Allen and his enthusiasm made me very excited so it was a great experience working with him as Iris' love interest. I would work with him again in a heartbeat. It was truly a joy and an honor to play that." (Dec. 7, 2018 Bustle article, page 14 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- On the Arrowverse crossover, DR: "How do you go bigger? Like, every single year they do these crossovers, it's like, it's bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. So it's just, I have no idea how they do it. So of course, they don't have a script yet, but they kind of break the story somewhat. So when I found out kind of what they want to do, it was just like, 'Really? You're just gonna go even bigger?' So every year it's just bigger and bigger and bigger." -- When fan asked about having an episode where the good guys turn into bad guys and the bad guys turn into good guys in the future, DR: "Hey! The crossover... (Fan asked, "For Season 6?") No, the upcoming crossover for 7. Just wait for that. Just wait for that." (HVFF-London, May 26, 2018: bettunicorns and Simone Wegener videos of Arrow Heroes panel, page 1 of Spoilers thread in Arrow forum)
-- On who wore it better, SA or GG, in their superhero costume swap, Colton Haynes: "They both wear it well. It's just a different way they wear it. Um, you know, Grant's like high fashion, kind of like runway model. Stephen's like a body builder. Different types. We have something for everyone." CH also described SA in the Flash suit as looking like a Teletubby, but quickly said that he looked great. -- On Oct. 12, 2018, SA did a facebook live video in which he is wearing a white t-shirt, a black-and-white paisley scarf, and black wool cap. From this facebook video: SA: "I'm in the middle of filming the crossover right now. I am filming Supergirl with nobody from the Supergirl cast and, uh, I'm drinking out of a Flash canteen." On whether he has any input regarding the crossover this year, SA: "Yes. I'm going to swear, if you're watching with children, last warning. The crossover is f**kin' bananas. It's crazy. I am four days into it, although technically I'm like nine days into it because my week started last week and was really compressed, even though I was really just working on Arrow. But this week I was Tuesday on The Flash, Wednesday on The Flash, Thursday on The Flash and Arrow, and today on Supergirl.... But, I think that this will be the best crossover event that we do. And not just the best, but the best by a really, really wide margin. And I think that last year was really fantastic, like Crisis on Earth-X - I think that's what it was called - um, that was pretty crazy and getting to play doppelgangers was pretty crazy. But, um, you know, when Greg Berlanti first talked to me about why he wanted to do crossovers, it was because it's for the fans. Like, it's so that people can watch, um, characters and scenarios that combine their favorite things on TV or introduce them to new things on TV. But you also just get this license to do things that you could never do in the vacuum - especially on Arrow - that we could never do in the vacuum of just our show. Um, and I know that we have some crossover surprises and some things that are going to hit the media. Um, it was supposed to be late - later, like, this week, but now I think it's going to be early next week." SA: "I had the coolest day on set yesterday because, on the one hand, I was very, very happy and excited for David Ramsey and, on the other hand, I saw something with my own two eyes, uh, standing right in front of me, that I just thought I'd never see. And, Melissa was doing Kevin Bacon Footloose dance moves in her Supergirl costume. And, she, Grant and I had a walk-and-talk scene that reminded me very much of The West Wing, and probably got the say the coolest thing that I've ever got to say on the show, just in terms of something that made me smile. Um, and, uh, all three of us high-fived after the scene, and I immediately decided that it was like a top five moment in the history of doing the show for me, which is exciting, because I've been doing it for 15 years now." SA: "Also, this is not my bandanna. I said that - I was just on instagram live a second ago - I said this was not my bandanna over there, but I want to make sure everyone knows, it really is not my bandanna over here." SA said that he would miss the Legends not being involved in the crossover, especially because "Caity Lotz is one of my OGs." SA then said: "But then, concurrently, it's just so exciting to expand the universe with, uh, Ruby, who looks phenomenal as Batwoman. I'm so excited to work with her. I haven't worked with her yet. Um, she and I have been trading messages (Makes finger gestures like he's texting) - that's how I trade messages. I'm excited to work with Tyler, who I've never worked with. That's going to be happening next week. And I'm very, very excited that, um, my wife is going to be, um - well, I can't tell you where she's going to be, but, um, it's - I'm very, very excited to have her on the show." SA: "Marc Guggenheim this year actually took over for the crossovers and basically wrote all three scripts, which I thought was a fantastic idea, because it gave one person the chance on building the throughline, because, you know, the first hour is Flash and the second hour is Arrow and the third hour is Supergirl, but that's in names - name only. It might as well be Elseworlds, Hour 1, 2 and 3, because the crossover starts - just because it starts on the Flash doesn't mean it starts in Central City - although I think it does. I did, however, pitch, and it ended up in the script, the very first scene that you are going to see in the crossover, which is really funny. It's really, really funny." On whose bandanna is it, SA: "It's my wardrobe. Bananas. The crossover is bananas." SA: "[Tyler Hoechlin's Superman] has a really significant role in this year's crossover." From papp's blog: "On this particular day, they filmed several scenes in downtown Vancouver for the 'Supergirl' part of the crossover. Funny enough, with no main Supergirl cast, and only 1 of the 4 scenes shot even had a Supergirl guest star in it. ... Tyler Hoechlin was seen on set, and as Stephen Amell showed in a tweet yesterday, Superman has some new threads for this crossover event. Lucky Stephen was willing to share with you all, because when Tyler was down on ground level (they were filming on top of a parkade) he was more modest about showing off his new duds. Covering up the Man Of Steel outfit as much as he could.I managed a few photos that JUST catches the top of the logo before he covered up even more. ... There were two other scenes shot during the day that I didn't get any photos of the cast at. One in Oceanic Plaza, which is used by EVERYONE at some point, they had a scene where a group of spectators were watching something happen in the sky, but no actors were there for it. Then after the roof top scene, was a scene in an alley where they were using a drone to film... something? Whatever it was, it wasn't actors, I can tell you that much. ... A bit later I caught up with Stephen and Grant Gustin filming at a different location. While I had seen both of them at the roof top location, it was only for brief moments as they wanted to & from the set from their trailers. Grant once, noticed me there taking photos, and waved, then showed off his new attire, trying to put on a bad boy sneer with it. Of course, since I wasn't given prior warning to his plans, I both missed the wave, and him flaunting the wardrobe off to me, as I had started shooting too late to catch the wave, and ended too soon to catch the showing off in its entirety. ... At the other location Stephen, as Oliver Queen. Grant as Barry Allen, both shot a scene where the pair stormed down a street together, running into an apartment building before getting into an altercation inside the building. The pair were both dressed like boyband members pretending to be hoodlums. They had jackets on that said 'Trigger Twins' on them. All I could think when I heard the term was how often triggered is used on the internet, and wondered, are Barry & Oliver internet vigilantes? But in all seriousness, the pair shot this series of scenes there, before they took a break. When they went on their break, I left, because I really didn't think anything more special would be happening. Sometimes I get this wrong... this was 1 of those rare occurrences. Barely after I got home & took my shoes off, I got a DM from a twitter user that was there @themyscirabound telling me Stephen showed back up, in full GREEN ARROW wardrobe." Ends with GA being thrown thru the air. - Green Arrow (Grant Gustin) does a scene where he is on a built up table that he had to use a ladder to get onto. He starts laying down on it, then pops up into the sitting position before making a move that I think might have been drawing his bow. - The Flash (Stephen Amell) does a scene where he seemingly just darts away. I didnt have the best angle for it. I also saw Daniel Cudmore there on stilts at that time.... but I dont believe he was filming in that specific scene, or if he was, it was completely out of my view. - Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) shoots a scene where she lands down on the ground, then gets up and stares  (probably heat vision?) at something taller than her, I BELIEVE Daniels character, as I saw him around there at that time. - Green Arrow on roof. First with stunt man, then later briefly with Grant. Scene sees GA shooting his bow at something or someone. - The Flash, Superman and Supergirl team up to fight Daniels character. Hes now down at their level, and the two Supes are holding an arm each while Flash is holding him from behind. They did this with the stunts team first, then Stephen and Tyler Hoechlin did the scene with Supergirls stunt double. - Somewhere in the mix was a scene with The Flash running out of the way as Green Arrow was riding in on his motorcycle. But I was busy with something else when that scene took place. Grant Gustin was dressed as the Green Arrow, Stephen Amell was dressed as The Flash, Melissa Benoist was there as Supergirl, and Tyler Hoechlin was there..... dressed in his traditional red & blue Superman attire, which after the spoiler photo Stephen posted earlier this week, was a mild surprise to me. -- On Oct. 30-31, 2018, papp posted more crossover filming pics and an updated papp blog: "Today, I caught up on the Supergirl part of filming. The scenes they were shooting were at a place very familiar to the Arrowverse fans.... its the exterior location for S.T.A.R. Labs on The Flash.... but today, it didnt have the usual STAR Labs items around it. Instead, it had a big Superman/Supergirl logo in front. Todays scene saw Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, along with Tyler Hoechlin and his stunt double as Superman and an alternate Superman, Grant Gustin as The Flash, and Stephen Amell as Green Arrow shooting a scene where the alternate Superman seems to take The Flash as a hostage temporarily while Superman is reading from a book that seems to have all the symbols in it we previously had seen featured in episodes of The Flash. ... Black Superman takes Barry hostage briefly, then when Oliver moves in on him with his bow drawn, Barry tells Oliver not to attack, then Black Superman lets Barry go....  then claps his hands together, a huge boom goes off that creates an explosion behind that glass Superman emblem... he then goes, steals the book from the other Superman, and flies away." -- In October (per Nov. 15, 2018 article), Entertainment Weekly was on set to watch crossover filming of a scene in which Batwoman (Ruby Rose) uses her grapple hook and Batarang to stop two inmates from escaping Arkham Asylum, and saves Green Arrow and Cisco in the process. Arrow director James Bamford: "I wanted all of the bat toys to be revealed in one scene." EW: "It’s a chilly late-October night in Vancouver, and we’re outside a derelict mental health facility that’s been transformed into the iconic Arkham Asylum, where [Ruby Rose] has just shot a scene with The Flash’s Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Ramon. There too is Grant Gustin, who is usually dressed as the red speedster the Flash but is currently donning Green Arrow’s duds. This isn’t the first time Rose has seen herself in the full, comic-book-accurate red wig, cape, and cowl, but it never stops being cool. Ruby Rose: "It’s a strange feeling to put on a suit like this that has been custom made for you knowing that it’s going to transform you into a character that does amazing things... You feel very empowered and it just instantly changes everything you feel in that moment.” CV: "I really just like seeing Ruby rock out in that costume... Next Year's Crossover

-- On the possibility of "Crisis on Infinite Earths" being the 2019 crossover. The Flash has teased Barry Allen's apparent death since the pilot. When asked whether he knew how and when he intended to pay off the various teases, Flash EP Todd Helbing (smiling): "Yeah. But that's all I can say... Greg [Berlanti] really has a sort of master plan of things, and I’m really excited about how it’s going to pay off.” Grant Gustin suggested that the plan is still to play out the crossover in 2024, so that the timeline of the episodes lines up with the events of the story. The future newspaper seen in the pilot was dated for April of 2024. GG: "It is really fulfilling" to see some of the Crisis stuff play out... I hope we can stick around long enough to see what's going on with that newspaper article. We'd have to make it four more seasons, five more seasons. It's cool, though. It feels like it's earned. Me and Stephen had that conversation a lot during the crossover, actually. There's a lot of even just comedic moments that we have that are funny because they're earned -- because of the history of the characters and the journey they've been on. It is one of the best parts of doing these as a series versus a film -- people have been with us. I've met kids who have gone through all of high school watching this show. To have that kind of stamp on people's lives is pretty special." That ten-year timeline mirrors what GG told ComicBook.com at SDCC 2017, when GG said: “We don’t really talk about on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that's a goal. Obviously we’d have to go I think ten years to reach that. So there’s a possibility for sure. It’ll be fun to get there.” (Nov. 20, 2018 ComicBook article, page 10 of DCTV Crossover 2018 thread in LoT forum)
-- Per Reddit user's spoilers for Arrow 709: "Apparently the Monitor is testing different earths to find it's best fighters. Monitor: A crisis is coming. Something more powerful than me will come.
