I agree completely. I'm sure she was indeed groomed for the position, just as George W Bush was groomed to be the president.

Now if you want to see a legacy that is going to be an incredible DCC, check out Tina Kalina's (Kelli's bestie) daughter Victoria. I mean, that girl. Her dance technique is just WOW, she's well spoken and gracious (just from what I've seen in a little piece she did about dance), and talk about someone who actually has the DCC look! I'm not fan girling at all hee hee. Also, she seems to have experience in DANCE, not just cheer. Super legacy right there!

People have said Sam doesn't have the look, but I just think that's super rude. First, that's her everyday look. Second, she's a kid! Why would a kid doll herself up DCC style? I personally think that'd be a little odd. I don't think she'd show up to auditions in an everyday look, IF she wanted to be a DCC. If Madeline's got the look, Sam can have the look. She's pretty, bright eyed and she has a wealth of resources to help get her glam on. She's just establishing herself at college, just joined a sorority and it seems like she's happy to get her an edj-am-uh-cashin right now, which I think is swell.

No one could ever accuse me of being a suck up, but since I'm on this, Shelly's daughter is amazingly stunning as well, I just have no clue if she dances or has any desire to be a DCC?

Time will tell if any of the 3 will audition. Sam and Dayton are now freshman in college. Victoria is still in high school. All three have trained in dance, although each on different paths. Sam veered towards cheer after many years in a dance studio and is now pre med. Dayton remained in a studio, being classically trained in many genres and spending many summers at intensives all over the nation, now majoring in dance education & performance. Victoria specializes in Contemporary and Jazz.  During different periods, they have each expressed an interest. The moms let the girls decide for themselves.

I saw this posted and wanted to say "thank you" for pointing our the errors I had on Pompedia.org  I am sure there are more so if you do find any additional ones, please let me know.  I want to maintain the most accurate information as possible.

Names can be tricky especially when it comes to maiden or married names.   I think it was around 2010 when the organization decided to drop the last names and incorporate just first and middle.  Keeping up with married names after they leave the organization is also a challenge.

It is a work in progress and I like the challenge of connecting the dots.  One fun example was the list of Pro Bowl selections...

http://pompedia.org/index.php?title=Dallas_Cowboys_Cheerleaders_Pro_Bowl_Selections

or even a list of top veterans

http://pompedia.org/index.php?title=Dallas_Cheerleader_Top_Veterans

Thanks again.

-Steve

Holly Squire Hubbard was Pro Bowl 2016 not Holly Powell.

Some on your Top Vet list are incorrect according to our recognizing of years on DCC.

Hi ShellyB -- Thanks for all your informative answers.  I have a little question for you.  Are you the tall, blonde Shelly who teaches kick line?

I believe the kick specialist is Shelly Roper-McCaslin?  This Shelly has dark hair. :) I believe she was sitting in the first meeting with Judy in the episode last night??

Are you kidding? I'm 45 and I refuse to apologize for bling!

Oh @ShellyB also maybe with the tour, an hour of basic dance instruction from you or anyone we know really, maybe a DCC? At The Star facility and "complimentary poms" built into the package price? It would be the most basic of basics. And like, make a DCC club for superfans, like the True Blue fanclub but for us. And The Star is like Mecca for Muslims. Ya gotta make a pilgrimage there at least once if you're able. God! Do you guys need a DCC marketing coordinator or what here?! HOW can we get down here?!

I volunteer as well for a marketing position with the cowboys organization in any way lmao

Thanks again, I did locate and corrected all the issues presented.  Don't worry about being "picky" or harsh.  It's one thing I've learned over the years... is that the fans of the DCC are meticulous about name spelling, and incorrect information.  I appreciate you all bringing this up.  Also, (I'm sure you know this) but Sydney Durso became a Dallas Mavericks dancer this past NBA season.

Curious to know - why did she choose Mavericks rather than an 8th year with DCC?  Surely, she wasn't cut, was she?

HAHA! I mean right?! We'd pretty much help coordinate a fan club for free! I don't think the org realizes what an untapped market they've got here. We're already spending money and time on this stuff, why not make it official? PUT A RING ON IT man!

I had a dream they actually sent out a fan newsletter, and I got a free subscription to it. Kelli, Judy, and Miss Kitty wrote their own columns. The girls wrote articles, information about the show and what goes on behind the show was in the letter. I remember being excited, and I came on here to ask if anyone else got the newsletter.

@ShellyB  What was your Pro Bowl experience like? Any different than now?

Pro Bowl was an amazing honor. To be chosen among my peers to represent the team was a blessing. My experience was different from most as I was 8 weeks pregnant with Dayton when I went to Hawaii. In 2010 I was honored to be chosen as a choreographer for the PBC and assisted the entire week with the appearances & the game. I'm still close with many on the 97 PBC squad.

@ShellyB Man, if I were Tina, I'd personally march Victoria down to auditions if that girl hesitates when it's time. I feel very Gypsy Rose Lee's mom about her, and I am NOT her mama. As Kelli said "Hurry up..get your passport!". Seriously, I respect letting the girls make their own decisions.

I didn't know Dayton was in college, good for her. I haven't seen Sam or Dayton dance, but they're certainly both pretty enough to contend.

Are you all in development for DCC merch at all? We superfans would spend inordinate amounts of money on merch, were it available. I personally would buy:

Fatheads, baseball hats, tee shirts, bumper stickers, ipad/phone covers, workout gear that's a close duplication of the TCC gear, a zumba-type workout dvd where you learn a couple dances as well as a cardio workout (I have the last one along with yoga and Jay's DVD but they're worn thin). Cheerobics brand has a package where you purchase choreo to a song online, and you learn a routine, along with poms they send you. I purchased theirs, I'd rather purchase yours. A pictorial book, like an updated "decade of dreams" (which I also own) of DCCs and the transition to the new facility, a book about you, Kelli, Judy, Shelly M, Kitty, Tina and the others' experiences and transitions from how you became DCCs to how you've developed into DCC staff and moving from Valley Ranch to The Star, (you HAVE to add a sprinkle of dirt to it, nothing too personal, but you know, we like to think we're in-the-know), and lastly, let me say, we would pay to see auditions. I would buy a package....hotel, auditions, facility tour, dinner, a chance to mingle with other superfans if it were available. I know my superfan friends on this board (and not on this board) would gladly eat this stuff with a spoon too.

I realize what a hoarder-stalker lunatic I just made myself sound like, I promise I don't have ten cats, I don't need to be air-lifted from my home, and I don't get meals on wheels, but we want more DCC!:-)

We have had merchandise in the past...Fatheads, Tshirts, pennants, mouse pads, stickers, etc. all of which we sold at our camps. With the development of the new stadium, most merchandise is sold through our Pro Shops. The only thing that is DCC specific are the Lucchese Replica Boots.

Tours are available at the stadium and will be coming in the future to The Star, because parts of the complex are still under development until 2017. There is a little bit of talk to have some portion of the auditions open to fans. With so many moving parts to auditions, the ideas are in the infancy stage right now and will take time to develop.

My wife and I just marathoned season 4 of MTT for the first time. (we have seen every season but 4&5.) here are my questions from back in 2009.  Maybe @ShellyB can give some insight.  (I realize it was awhile back!)

1. What brought about the decision to bring Kaime O. to TC a month into it as a replacement for the Minchew sisters?

2. How often do Kelli and Judy quiz girls on Football knowledge during a rehearsal, and why was it specifically Only two girls who were quizzed?

3. What was it like seeing New Cowboys stadium for the first time?

Thanks,

Joseph

You have to wonder if any former DCCs whose daughters auditioned or thought about it. There was a girl on MTT about 3 or 4 seasons ago named Nadia who said her mom was a DCC. Besides her, Cassie and Meredith, I don't know of any others.

Billie Gosdin (1979) and her daughter Amber Gosdin (95, 96, 03, 04)

Shelly, Thank you for pointing that out.  How do you recognize or tack that?  I am pulling my information from squad rosters and the website.  I'm sure your records are much more accurate than mine, I am at the mercy of analyzing the data I have available to me.  And just so I understand, Holly Squire Hubbard is also Holly Arielle?  The name changes are so confusing to me.  I just want to make sure I have the correct person.

Yes, holly Hubbard is also holly Arielle.

I'm watching season 5 now! That was you, Shelly B, that gave the rookies and vets a pep talk at the pool party! That was fun to watch and it was different than other seasons getting to see our favorite vets take Training camp candidates under their wings and hang out with them plus getting insight from alumni.

Correct about Holly Squire Hubbard/ Holly Arielle. One of her seasons was the year we used First & Middle names.

We count complete seasons. For instance, Christy Van Meter left early in football season of her 5th year. Therefore, she's considered a 4 year vet. Lynlee Allen only cheered 5 years, not 6. Some girls you have double listed on 5 & 6....I cheered 5 years, lol.

Although each year cheered is significant, we recognize 5 years as a hallmark. In our history of DCC, to date, there are 41 that have 5 or more years on the team.

Was this the first time you were shown ? Are all four of you always present at the first meeting?

Not the first time I've been shown on the series, but 1st time this season. For the most part, we are all typically at First Meeting.

I don't remember what the reason behind bringing her back. She does have an infectious personality. She actually works game days as a host on stage in the plaza. She introduces performing acts, does giveaways and pumps up the crowd.

The girls take tests randomly as a way to keep up on current events & football. If they were only quizzing two, chances are they didn't fare well with football knowledge on their original test.

AT&T Stadium is one of the most magnificent stadiums in the world ;)

I have to say I really like Charlotte.  She is so sweet to the girls during the audition process and she always has a really pretty bright smile.  She definitely seems to have a genuine interest in the girls.

I have watched the Kamie/pop quiz episode recently.  I thought it was kind of harsh to cut the girl that did not know a couple answers because of that.  If she had the dance and look they wanted it was extreme to cut her.
