Shelly, I hope you and Dayton had as good as a time as it looked.  I am sure she was happy to have a vacation of a lifetime with memories to match of you to.  This disappointment of not making DCC this year will fade, the time spent with her mom will never fade.  I would like to think I have the type of relationship where my mom would like to go overseas with me as well.

I’m just glad she like to spend time with her parents. We only have a little bit of time until each of kids take flight on their individual journey. Besides....I was paying! ??

It must be incredibly difficult for the TCC to practice day and night and endure the scrutiny here on this board. I wish them all good luck as they pursue their dream of being a DCC.

Oh, it did.  If anyone deserves preferential treatment, it's Dayton.  That's all I'm going to say about that particular subject for now.  We'll see if I have anything to say after the squad is announced and if I have another name to put on my "Does not deserve to be a DCC" list.  It's very short at the moment.

Kelli SHOULD regret that decision.  She made the decision when she was under a lot of stress and had a lot on her mind (among other things).  Making ANY decision under those circumstances is never advised for any reason because a person isn't thinking clearly.  I think Kelli realizes that, if she'd just waited, she would have gone a different direction with cuts.  Which leads me to my next point, made below.

After seeing this new clip, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Kelli realizes that, if she'd waited until after Canton to make cuts, Brennan would have stayed, Christina would have been cut and she would have expanded the team to 37 to accommodate Taryn.  It seems that she doesn't like the direction Kalyssa's taken (as if it wasn't obvious that Kalyssa knew she had HIGH male appeal and was focused on that in her dancing) and that Kelli seems to think that, whatever reason Alexandria gave for leaving, it wasn't a very good one to Kelli's mind, but she wasn't going to keep a girl who didn't want to be there.

Also we had the whole Christina 5 years trying out storyline last season. And I was already tired of it then!

If I remember correctly, it was the lack of facials that really killed her last year.  She had everything else on point, but the "mixed reviews" mentioned was that people loved her dancing, but the fact that she couldn't bring the same energy and sass she had in Finals to Training Camp that had people talking.

Don't even get me started on Christina.  I could go on for days (paragraphs at least) about the issues I have with her and Victoria, but I won't, so . . . . leaving it alone for now.

I 100% agree with this comment about Taryn. What a nice young lady she seemed to be. Hardworking, good attitude, nice figure. Not your typical DCC look but certainly very attractive.

I guess K&J  make the best decisions they can based on the girls they have in front of them. Obviously they can't see into the future. However I just think there were some red flags with Kalyssa in terms of how she was always mugging for the camera. The same goes for Alexandria. She stated on camera that all of her family was in another state and that she had just bought a house with her boyfriend in a different state. Those are not things people do who are getting ready to relocate their lives for a year or more. After all these years of conducting tryouts it would seem that K&J would be a little bit more astute about seeing when people are trying to pull something over on them.

I would have gone with my daughter also. I accompanied my girl to two of her graduate school interviews that were out of state and she was 21. I didn't actually go to the interviews with her, but drove to the cities and stayed with her in the hotels so she didn't have to go by herself. She was nervous enough about the interviews without having to worry about staying alone in a big city. She traveled overseas while in college but only as part of a group with faculty advisers. I wouldn't have let my daughter go overseas by herself either. She got her Doctorate degree in only three years and turned out just fine. 

None of this is really any of our business anyway as obviously Shelly and her family have a good thing going with their close relationships and they are going to do what is right for their family. That's what parenting is all about anyway.

If they could only take one legacy this year, Dayton would have been my pick (and should have been theirs).  She has the looks, the technique, the talent, the confidence, and would have been a major asset to the team.  Too bad they decided that she wasn't a good fit for the team and CMT decided to milk it for all they could.

My daughter is 25 and is still at home with me.  She's a college graduate, is independent, but she enjoys living at home.  I'll take it for as long as I can get it :)

I was Team Dayton...and I don't blame her a bit for not wanting to even consider re-auditioning until there is no more show.  She's had two years now of having EVERY thing about her scrutinized, and it would wear on anyone.  She is on to greater adventures at this time now.  I hope that she has a wonderful journey!!  If and when she decides to re-audition, I will be rooting for her!  That aside, I am still Team Brennan!  I think she is lovely and I think she has worked her arse off and done everything that's been asked of her.  She SHOULD have been on that team last year and I'm keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that she makes it this year.  I'm also keeping fingers crossed for Briana and Madeline.

I don't think that Kelli admitting her regrets about Brennan necessarily signals regrets about Taryn. Right after she said this, Taryn's face was shown. Additionally, Taryn apparently cried at the veterans visit and I think that's actually a big deal to Kelli and Judy. Teary-eyed? I'm sure that's fine, as it is an emotional experience. But if she was full out crying, then that detracts mightily from what the DCC are there to do: to bring cheer and gratitude and happiness to veterans (and those currently serving). Not a good look to have one of your cheerleaders sobbing in the corner. That's the opposite of cheerleading. I think military visits and being able to trust each lady during them is one of the bigger off-the-field deals in DCC Land. On top of that, Kelli was shown talking with Judy, Melissa, and the DCC makeup lady about cameos, including Taryn's, who they were comparing to Kash and Kalyssa or Tasha. Kelli said Taryn was cute with her dancing but her face was very triangular. I take that to mean she didn't love her looks but she was cute enough not to get cut for that alone. But combine her face shape (which is a bit unique and always made her seem to me not among the more attractive TCCs) with her lagging power/energy when it counted most (on the field and near the end of camp) and her low kicks, I actually always have been on board with her cut. Do I think she is a good dancer and seems very sweet? Yes. But I 100% get why she was cut and never thought they made a bad decision. Would I have hated to see her on the team? No. Would I rather she made it over Christina? Yes. But you know who I would rather have made the team over Taryn, Brennan, and Christina? Tiger Girl Katelyn. That decision Kelli should be regretting! (Unless, as someone predicted recently, they got some unpleasant reviews of her from those who knew Katelyn.)

Appearances are a huge part of the job. They sign a contract that they will fufill ALL DCC required shows and appearances. Add to this- she was on show group. Who knows what was on the calendar for after football season for them? And, those are things that DCC get paid to do! So, yes, it’s a huge deal that she left before the full DCC season was complete. 

To add insult to injury, she leaves, then basically shows herself as a porn model on her social media the next day. She really put them in a terrible position.

Watching the end of last season, Taryn got killed out on the field.  She could not make her poms snap, her kicks were low, and she was not being a powerful dancer.  I thought the cut was not deserved last year but watching it again I totally get it.  I liked Brennan over Christina then and still do.  I was never a huge Alexandra fan because I thought they botched her makeover.  A chocolate brown hair color would have made her stand out.  i always thought she looked "cheap or trashy" which are harsh words but I cannot think of a better description.  I never thought she would stay long because her whole life was miles away.

I have been binge watching past seasons and I pick up so much more now.  My work trip got extended a night and all I could think of is I can watch more Making the Team without my man saying didn't we watch this the first time around.

I suspect the same thing with Brennan this season and Christina last season. Neither are very good, they aren't in the slightest bit interesting, and they are boring to watch. Yet CMT really pushed the "in training camp multiple times! Will she make it this year!" storyling (and they appear to be doing that with Brennan this year, I know which scenes I will be fast forwarding!!) I sure hope there isn't a focus on her this year...she's boring and dull, and I swear her face always looks like she is smelling a fart.

Wow!  Just wow!  Thanks for saving me the typing.  I couldn't agree more on everything.  I would only add that while I thought Taryn's triangular little face was cute and fully acceptable, there was something odd about her legs.  The thighs just didn't look dancer tight.  Different body styles show muscles differently - my son has more swimmer muscles than baseball player muscles even though he is a baseball player.  So, I am not saying she didn't have thigh muscles, I am saying they didn't look that tight.  That being said, maybe she didn't have the level of thigh muscles needed and that is the reason for kick issues.  She couldn't even do that Kitty leg exercise they were doing on the field one night.

I can see both sides on the Kalyssa situation. On one hand, she completed most of her duties. However, she basically dipped out when most of the fun/high profile stuff was over. I can see how that’s grating to Kelli. I’m sure many of the girls have more important things that they could be doing than attending an appearance at Costco, but they still do it. With that said, Milan’s leaving midseason is worse IMO.

Cmon. Kalyssa isn’t having sex on camera , and while many of her pics are raunchy and the nude ones definitely go far beyond what the DCCs are comfortable with, I don’t think she put them in a terrible situation. I can’t imagine anyone’s opinion of them was changed. Anyone who buys the wholesome sweetheart image already must ignore the swimsuit photos with them yanking at and untying their bottoms. I imagine those ppl can ignore Kalyssa too.

Milan was a vet and had a proven track record of following the rules. They knew her education was important to her. It’s possible the study abroad opportunity came up unexpectedly during the season. Knowing how Kelli and Judi respect education, I can see them being disappointed but supportive of her wish to pursue it. 

Alexandria and Kalyssa were rookies with no solid background. I can see why Kelli and Judi might be peeved at them for leaving early, esp Alexandria.

It looks like Khalyn, Lacey, and KaShara are the three girls chosen for Season 13.  As for the Milan/Alexandria/Kalyssa debate, Milan also likely kept Kelli and Judy in the loop as to what was going on and probably told them as soon as she found out she was leaving.  Kalyssa and Alexandria didn't do that.  As far as we know, both Alexandria and Kalyssa just said "Bye" and left.  I have new thoughts on Alexandria, but they're not for right now.

That issue with Kitty’s exercise was a core issue, and if you looked closely, she didn’t have developed ab muscles either. (Kitty said as much in the segment.) The thing with kicking at their level is three-fold. You have to have deleveloped muscles in your upper thigh- right where it connects to your pelvic area- you can feel this muscle at work by simply pulling your leg up while putting your fingers on the very top of your thigh at the same time. 

You need flexibility in your hamstrings for sure... as well as flexibility throughout the muscles in your leg. 

You need abs to “pull your leg up.”  Again, to feel this, pull your leg up while putting your fingers right on your lower stomach on the same side of the leg that you’re “working.”  

Taryn talked to K&J about the flexibility thing. She had a band that she could attatch to a door frame to help with hamstring flexibility. 

She also talked about using ankle weights to develop that muscle right at the top of the thigh, but Kelli suggested that she just to their kickline over and over at home- this would develop BOTH the ab muscles as well as the upper thigh muscles as well as addressing the stamina needed for their kickline. 

So, Taryn had a few issues to address to be field ready... these are just some that were talked about on the field.

I said “basically a porn model,” not “doing porn.”  And I stand by my comments. Her posts of questionable pics were before it was announced (by her or the team) that she had left. (You can just search this forum to see questions about why she was posting stuff like this, and asking, what did Kelli think of it.) So, yes, the pics had an effect on the team image. 

I don't love the swimsuit calendar and I think that things like this are contributing to the suits against other teams right now. I know they were much more extreme, and allegations of them being shot in front of men, but look at the Redskins issues. Again, DCC doesn’t cross that line, and certainly don’t invite sponsors (read icky business men that are paying to see young women in very provocative situations), but some of Kalyssa’s pics came very close to that line. I don't love the swimsuit calendar and I think that things like this are contributing to the suits against other teams right now. I know they were much more extreme, and allegations of them being shot in front of men, but look at the Redskins issues. Again, DCC doesn’t cross that line, and certainly don’t invite sponsors (read icky business men that are paying to see young women in very provocative situations), but some of Kalyssa’s pics came very close to that line. (Like TOE ON the line, IMO)

To be clear, i wasn’t trying to change your opinion. I respect everyone’s opinion on here. I like that there are discussions and disagreements. When everyone agrees about everything, I find it boring. I just don’t think Kalyssa pics even approach porn or would hurt the DCC image, but I guess a lot of it depends on what one thinks the DCC image is. Personally, an ex-DCC, or any ex-NFL cheerleader having some topless pics (that don’t show nipple) doesn’t make me blink or think poorly of the team.  I get Kelli probably doesn’t like it, but my opinion of the DCCs doesn’t mirror hers. Certainly, YMMV.

So, I'm rewatching last season where Kelli, Judy and Kitty are all sitting and talking about all of people left in Training Camp.  This is right before Taryn was cut.  The cameras showed close ups of several of the TCC and I took screen shots of these 3 since there was much debate on whether or not Taryn should have been cut over Savannah and Christina.  If you look at the numbers on the cards you will see the number of yes, no and maybes each TCC received.  Now I get that they had all 3 gone through several weeks of training but based on those initial numbers, Christina and Savannah were simply seen as much stronger performers than Taryn, who only received 3 yes votes.

I have a hard time believing a TC Candidate with only three yes votes making it over the three cut vets. This would mean the three cut vets only got two or less yes votes. #notbuyingit

No those are the TC votes.  They don't have 15 judges for SG and we see those photos with numbers long before SG auditions.

Gina has looked amazing in photographs this summer...a while back i posted I didn't think she looked photogenic. (Again just in photos, she is absolutely gorgeous in real life and on video) I need to retract that photogenic statement....honestly I can see her now as Point in the near future.
