eskimo April 30, 2018 Share April 30, 2018 Will they just end this season already. I was hoping TM2 would be airing tonight, it's way better IMO. Except they added stupid-ass Briana. Ugh. Put her on TMOG (I know she's not original, but they're not teens either and it's still in the title), then cancel it. Lol 7 Link to comment
druzy May 1, 2018 Author Share May 1, 2018 Gary is a class act. He didn't judge Farrah like the the rest of that crew. That scene with Farrah was funny. I don't think she understood what Frenchie was saying or she's teaching Sophia to lie about her age. 20 Link to comment

Tyler so quick to jump in about hiw they don't ever talk to Farrah. I bet he has enjoyed himself to her porn scenes though! Good God cate is fat! When she was sitting in that chair at the Salon she lookex eight months pregnant. Funny that during that scene where cate and her friend were questioned about numatt, the Camera guy sorta resembles the old Matt lol. Cate didn't seem too happy watching nucate interested in what Tyler had to say. Nu cate is ten times better looking than frumpy 50 year old face looking cate. Cate looks like she could be Tyler's mom 14 Link to comment

CaliforniaLove May 1, 2018 Share May 1, 2018 Cate's lipstick color clashed with her yellow teeth. I usually can't stand Tyler, but he's unwatchable when he's "on" (or on something). I forget...was the dog present at the Edwards' wedding of the century? He seemed strung out, but I don't think that had to do with Ryan's alternate version of reality regarding that situation (Ryan: "Mackenzie said he could be there!!" Jen & Larry: "No, she most definitely said the opposite")...Ryan has pulled that shit since the beginning. He's either that much of a dick, or he seriously has zero concept of sarcasm (Mackenzie rolling her eyes & saying sarcastically "yeah, the dog can be best man" = "see?! That's a yes!"). The power went out & it took forever for all systems to reboot, so I didn't capture the whole thing...I've never been so appreciative of a power outage before. 12 Link to comment

Who knew that Gary would turn out to be the most mature of the bunch? Good for him. @leighroda, that's a very good point about Farrah re: mental health and Cate's total lack of any empathy towards Farrah. Cate's never one to take the high road, though. Popular Post ghoulina May 1, 2018 Popular Post Share May 1, 2018 Like all of you, I appreciated Gary not jumping on the bash Farrah bandwagon. And as much as she deserves it, I appreciate that he tries not to bash Amber as well. You can tell he just really takes being a father seriously and wants to set a good example for his kids. He's such a great dude. Not much to say about the rest of them. Usually I enjoy these segments, but a lot of it felt like rehash and I'm over Nessa kissing everyone's butts. 31 Link to comment
FlowerofCarnage May 1, 2018 Share May 1, 2018 I know Tyler may have been in a manic phase but it was refreshing to see him talk about parenting Nova with such enthusiasm. Too bad his wife couldn't muster up the same enthusiasm or at least attempt to seem interested in something that isn't related to her trauma. Also, did Cate have on a corset because her breast were practically up to her chins. She just looked so stiff and uncomfortable on stage. Glad to see that Bentley and Leah have age-appropriate responsibilities around the house. 17 Link to comment

guilfoyleatpp May 1, 2018 Share May 1, 2018 I was severely confused about whether or not they were talking about Starburst or Sophia or if Frenchy meant the grades (1, 2) instead of Sophia's actual age. MTV definitely seemed to leave it confusing. I've had those conversations with non-native English speakers and they usually are punctuated by "OH, you mean xxx" and I act embarrassed (or I actually am embarrassed) and it works out. 7 Link to comment

I also think that Farrah went through some childhood traumas as well, Cate. Maybe she went through them in an upper middle-class home & never worried about her very basic needs (like food, clothing, etc) but she definitely went through some stuff (Michael has pretty much backed this up, as well as the pseudo-shrink on Couples Therapy, while Deb has denied it. I believe them over Deb.) Even if we ignore what likely happened in her childhood (she's alluded to Deb having men over all the time and possibly one of them abusing her), the girl wanted an abortion but her mother wouldn't help her get one. Then her baby's father died. Her parents almost acted happy about it, like it was a problem that had been easily solved for them. That alone is plenty of trauma itself. Too bad Cate can't be as understanding about Farrah's trauma as she wants everyone to be about her trauma that causes her to disappear from Nova's life for months at a time. EDIT: I got it 180 degrees wrong about Farrah and abortion--please see Mypeoplearenordic's post below. I had totally forgotten about Deb's pushing Farrah to have an abortion. I think nobody on the show likes Farrah because the lower-class TMs (Cate and Amber) feel she looks down on them, both intellectually (hah--never thought I'd say that about Farrah) and in terms of body image. Maci, on the other hand, doesn't approve of Farrah's adult entertainment proclivities, but I suspect that if it weren't for that, Maci is the one Farrah *might* be able to warm up to. Farrah's refusing to have an abortion and then the weirdness of her parents after Sophia was born is enough in itself to traumatize a young woman. Do Cate and Tyler hate Farrah for refusing to let go of her baby, as they did? Does Farrah hate Cate and Tyler because they did let go of theirs? I'd like an episode where a qualified therapist (not Dr. Drew Pinsky) explored this with the two young women. And another thing: Cate likes to talk a lot about how she and Tyler are "there" for each other, that they support each other. I've seen a lot of Tyler supporting Cate while she farted around at the spa, but I haven't seen Cate do much for Tyler. Edited May 1, 2018 by Mothra 8 Link to comment

Also abouy Farrah: Farrah wanted an abortion, Deb didn’t let her. I remember when Farrah started going to counseling and then deb went with her and Deb said “I remember the day Farrah came crying to me in my office about wanting an abortion “. She wanted Farrah to put the baby up for adoption, there are scenes on Farrah’s original episode that state this. Edited May 1, 2018 by WhosThatGirl 13 Link to comment

I don’t see how either one of them are really going to mKe peace with their “trauma” until they confront their crappy parents or let it go. Emmierose May 2, 2018 Share May 2, 2018 Cate’s bullshit and ZERO empathy when asked how she felt after seeing the segment where Tyler breaks down crying after dropping her off at the treatment facility was pretty rich. Saying, “I don’t feel guilty for being sick” or whatever bullshit she spewed while sneering and curling her lip. Just WOW. Not one word of support for Tyler breaking down and sobbing and being overwhelmed, not ONE. In Catelynn’s mind this is The Cate Show all day, every day. Keep it up Cate, NuCate is counting on it. And for the love of all that is holy, STOP talking about Nova’s farts. So gross. Do you think your once upon a time idols Brandon and Teresa sit around talking about Carly’s farts and how much they stink? No, no, and no. She really doesn’t seem to have any sympathy for other people, or at least that’s how she comes off. I hate when she slut shames Farrah or acts like she is one of the “cool girls” and gangs up on her with Maci and the others. It’s like on one hand, Cate is this person who likes to party, is pretty cool and down with whatever and then on the other hand tries to be this “perfect, Christian” mother. It’s weird and hypocritical. She has no room to judge anyone else on their life choices. Not at this point. And you would think because of what she has been through, she would automatically feel more sympathy and have more understanding of others. It’s just not the case. Also, she really needs to help Tyler out with the business, Nova, and the house projects. She doesn’t even try to do anything. I understand that she was going through a terrible situation but she should be in a position, at least now, to be able to start trying to pull her own weight. I don’t see her ever doing that though and not because of the depression but because of who she is as a person. And you know, none of this is really fair to Tyler. I mean I know why Cate is with Tyler. He does a lot for her and really takes care of everything. But what does Cate bring to the relationship? If she doesn’t start trying to make things more equal between them, this relationship is sure to be doomed. A person can only take so much. I’m not saying Tyler is some kind of saint but when you are doing everything in a relationship and getting nothing in return, you eventually walk away. And I won’t judge Tyler when that happens as long as he continues to be a good father to Nova. (Hmm maybe I should’ve put this in the Cate & Ty thread. Let me know if anyone thinks I should move it, and I will.) 6 Link to comment

Butch watched Nova a lot too, it’s odd, the way these two talked about how awful their parents were but don’t mind them when they need free babysitters. I don’t really judge them on this. I think both Butch and April were doing a lot better when they were babysitting Nova. I did side eye them a bit when they left Nova with Butch so long when they traveled to the reunion or wherever they went. I think if they see their parents going back to their old ways they stop leaving Nova with them. At least Tyler anyway. Now in an ideal situation, no I probably wouldn’t be letting the likes of April or Butch take care of my child but they are Cate and Tyler’s parents. I think Tyler really wants to believe they are doing better and wants to give them the opportunity to be a part of their grandkids’ lives and spend time with them. I think Tyler desperately wants to have a normal relationship with them like other adult kids have with their parents. But at the same time, I think he is realistic and knows that while they may be sober one day, it’s fleeting from one day to the next. I don’t think Tyler has any delusions about Butch at this point. He seems to pretty much take him for what he is, supports him when he’s doing well, tries to get him help when he isn’t, and otherwise seems to keep himself emotionally ready for when Butch fails him spectacularly like he always does. It’s really a very mature way to handle things for someone his age that grew up the way he did. I didn’t include what Cate thinks about anything because I’m not sure she does think. 4 Link to comment
Kazu May 26, 2018 Share May 26, 2018 I don't know about that @AmandaUnbidden re Tyler not leaving his child with Butch or April if he thought they were back to their old ways. Apparently, Butch had returned to his old ways and he had been watching Nova for quite some time. Butch was also watching his daughter's kids. Tyler himself had left his own sister, Crystal Meth, to watch Nova while he and Cate went out of town for a vacation. She didn't even show up to watch Nova, likely due to one of her drug binges. Butch was called in at the last second to watch Nova. 4 Link to comment
