I like Whoopi and I’ve been a fan long before she started co-hosting on The View. That said, does anyone think the conversation flows much easier without her on the panel? Maybe not even the conversation, necessarily, but things aren’t as tense and we don’t have to worry as much about Whoopi interrupting a debate with her preaching and rambling. I’ve noticed this for awhile now.

I am so weary of Whoopi as moderator.  She pontificates (yes, Elsa), she rambles, she lectures.  Please, stop.  A true moderator would:  MODERATE.  I am so done with her incoherent opining.

I think they cram too much into a show that has only about 35 minutes.  hot topics, two interviews, sex talk, a song.   They ask Jimmy Buffet to talk about his play, he starts to tell a funny story, sets it up, and then they go to commercial.   I have noticed that guests who are on The View are on other talk shows in the same week, and give MUCH better interviews, because they come in prepared to talk about something, and they actually are given time to say it.  The celebrity interviews on The View always seems so rushed.  Guests can barely get a sentence out before being interrupted to talk about something else, then they start that, then, oops, we have to go to break - come back any time!

Having 5 people trying to conduct an interview is just too many. A lot of times they'll be talking about something interesting and then someone will pipe in with their unrelated blue card question and totally derail the conversation. They could get rid of the 2 minute topics after a break and no one would care. They're always so informative anyways.  As to the " Come back anytime " just once I'd like to hear someone say I'll have to check my schedule and see when I have 3 or 4 minutes to spare.

Hahahahaha. What I love about your posts? After snarking on Meghan (who so richly deserves it), it looks like you feel you need to say something nice after saying something mean/snarky!

It sure seems that way :)  No, I really wanted to comment on how pretty she looked - it's just that the snark got there first - LOL!

Oh god, so MM is back to her "I'm not accepted by the liberals in LA and NY" bs she has been spouting since she joined the show.  MM the reason you are not invited into certain social circles is because of you, your attitude, stance, personality, etc.  It has nothing to do with you being a republican.  The fact that you keep up this charade that there are no republicans in NY or LA just makes you look completely crazy.

What MM really is saying is the cool Hollywood actors I thought I would become best friends with don't like me, it must be because I'm republican.  No MM, those circles you desperately want to be a part of do include both Dems and Republicans, they just don't like you.

This is where MM's real "trust fund" persona/attitude really comes out.

It resembles paranoia, to me.

Glad they promoted 20/20 - Sunny was great!

Sunny did a good job.  I followed that story from the beginning for two reasons.  (1) There's a Phoenix, Arizona association...though small.  (2) I was IN that mansion in the early 70s.  Well...not the mansion per se, but the chauffeur's quarters.  A good friend from high school days (still a good friend) and his girlfriend (now his wife...for decades) rented the chauffeur's apartment.  It was a darling tiny place above a very sophisticated garage (with a "horizontal lift").  My husband, little kids, and I rented a little "apartment" in a complex across from the Del Coronado...where there were lots of other young AZ family renters.  One could rent by the day, week, or month.  We played on the beach and then went upstairs to see that little apartment.   The 20/20 story was a disappointment because nothing has really changed in all these years.

When they were talking about how long sex "should last", I thought it was a bit odd (but funny) that Ana said she had to allow for the thirty minutes it took for the Viagra to kick in.  (I'm not sure her boyfriend would want the world to know that.  LOL)

Poor poor Meghan. She just can’t accept that the reason she’s “tainted” to use her word, is because she’s downright fucking a nasty and UNLIKEABLE,social climbing person. She bathes in the respect and admiration that people have for her father, as if it’s her who has served her country and a maverick. And sorry, but he isn’t a saint, the way she keeps talking about how disrespectful those booers were because her dad has “the worst cancer EVER!” And I’ve always seen “you’re a GOOD PERSON!” Or “You’re GOOD PEOPLE!” AS code for, you’re good people EXCEPT for that teeny problem of being racist or a bigot.???

And WHAT THE FUCK? The rest of the panel let that CPAC person get away with calling the guy who said those racist things about Steele “my dark skinned associate??!!!!”??? Was he afraid of the word “Black?” I read about what was said, but never saw the clip so I don’t know if the racist guy was Black or not.  But Schlapp(??) kept repeating that. And sucking up to Meghan by repeating how much he respects her father.????

And here Meghan goes again with “what about Murkowski and Collins???” So glad Joy pointed out neither of them had the deciding vote, though it was lost in all the overtalk.

Ana and Sunny did get some good points in, but asshole kept pivoting.

I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Jimmy Buffet!

Did anyone else find it creepy when Ivanka Trump was answering questions about the allegations about her father she was smiling?

And good for Patton Oswald for finding happiness after the grief of him losing his wife.

Yes, almost like she was trying to be flirtatious.  And yes good for Patton Oswald.

So true!  I just caught the day when she was railing against the Oscars and won't watch because liberals.....................Now correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Nicole Wallace let go because she wasn't up on pop culture?  She was at least willing to learn about it.  How can MM rail against the Oscars when most of their audience is all about pop culture, tv and films?  She talks bad about NY and the show is filmed in NY.  Anyone?

I really think Nicole pretended she didn’t know anything about pop culture. I found it very annoying - she could speak so well about political things and then went into dummy mode for the rest. “I’m the mom of a toddler” but that doesnt mean she had to check the rest of her brain at the door. I wonder if the production staff has placed MM into this role to play a part of sorts and not to voice any moderate views she has if she has them. She sounds miserable most of the time. I wonder what she would be like if she could let her guard down.

I really think that MM really resents the fact that Hollywood didn't embrace her when she was in LA.  I think she had this idea that she was going to take a break from politics or do a career change and move to LA to do that show she was on and somehow become best friends with Scarlett Johansen, Drew Barrymore, etc.  I really think that she expected to be the toast of the town, get invited to cool parties, and be a huge success.  When that didn't happen she needed a reason to blame it on, hence everyone in LA hates me because I'm a republican.

What always struck me as odd is that by her own account she was in LA for only a year and working a lot.  This is where her spoiled, entitled attitude really shines.  The fact that she thought she would somehow "strike gold" and be the toast of the town in only a year while working on a show on a premium cable network speaks volumes about her entitlement.

Now she is doing the same thing in NY.  Now that she is there for The View it's, "no one in this town accepts me, the liberals are the gatekeepers and they don't invite me to events, they are threatened by my politics, etc.  In order to do that she has to erase all the republicans in these areas because they are proof that she has her own deficiencies and it is not her political affiliation that is keeping people away.

In all honesty whenever MM isn't on politics, I can totally see her personality shine through.  By all accounts she seems to like to have fun and try new experiences.  If she would just stop being in defense mode she would realize that it isn't an attitude that is welcoming nor facilitating in people getting to know and/or like you.

And I'll go one step further: there is an actor who is Conservative and who has had at least two successful shows and a successful movie career: Tim Allen.

So she can just SUCK IT. Let me repeat:

giphy.gif

It hurt my Shawn and Gus lovin' heart to use them to express what I'm feeling as pertains to Meghan.

My first true crime book was "In Cold Blood," and after that every. book Ann. Rule. wrote (in the true crime genre).  FASCINATIN'.

omg please don't talk about that book.  I have a bad reaction to it.  The only other one that gets me is Helter Skelter.  Not by Ann Rule but a true crime.  The pics is the middle haunt me.  Don't get me started abt Gettysburg.  That is Holy Ground.  Ugh, way off topic. Sorry abt that
