Ready to start the engines and tear this season apart? I think I'm going into this one for all the wrong reasons as in probably don't care who wins or if there's real love in the end, especially since our Saber and Jade aren't there to root for, but definitely in for the hotness factor and the travel porn. Maybe those are the right reasons.

Arie's bro is a hottie too, married hottie. Tia looks just like her bff Raven, Arkansas jokes not intended. Sorry if that was mean, blame it on the alcohol. I could have done without the bad kiss segment, ick and eww, I had forgotten them for a reason. On past success stories, why do they never bring back Holly and Blake Julian?

So why did they make him walk through a desert in a suit? This is going to be fun, bring on Jan 1.

Either my friend nominated me too late and/or they stalked my social media and saw that I was still in a relationship at the time of casting, haha. Think of what could have been! Guess I'll just have to save myself for the next time they actually cast an attractive Bachelor (so probably never again). I'll just have to be here to judge everyone with you all through the screen this year as usual!

(Also agree with you, I always loved Holly and Blake, but since Bachelor Pad made Blake look like a villain and hyped their relationship as one to root against in favor of St. Michael Stagliano, they're probably mad at it all working out for them.)

Thought it was interesting that "up coming season" previews practically gave away the final 5.   I'm staying spoiler free this season because my husband and I are competing against each other to see who wins and I wish we weren't because it looks like a doozy of a season.    I forgot how devastating his breakup with Emily was but I was giving the show a lot of side-eye for making it seem like he has been chastely pining away for the last 5 years.

I was waiting for the info that Arie was dating Courtney (was). And seeing Ben Flapjack again made me seriously question why I watched his season. Watching Arie kiss Emily made me remember (yowza!) why he was a favorite, finally a man who knows how to use his hands when every other bachelor leaves his in his lap or maybe on the woman's leg if he's really bold. Seeing Carly and hearing her for just a few minutes made me think Evan is a saint for being able to put up with her 24/7.

Well then I'm glad I didn't see this, for ONCE in my life I've had the willpower to stay away from spoilers!

I thought it was a fun little hour, and I think Arie still looks smokin' hot.  He may not REALLY be looking for a wife & kiddies, but he still sold it all pretty well.  Those eyes......

For me, he's the most attractive Bachelor they've had since Brad Womack.  And I don't care about the rumors, speculations or unflattering stories that will obviously come out of the woodwork, I'm just gonna kick back, ride the sexy Arie train & wish I was one of those girls....*LOL*

Dying!

I'm wrong reasons all the way, so I hope the show makes good on all the cattiness they showed in the previews. It looks like the show has upped its travel budget, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Hopefully the Netherlands are on the itinerary.

Carly thinks she's so clever and cute. Evan is probably the only person in the world who won't disabuse her of that notion.

To see how a neanderthal interacts with anatomically modern humans.

So I too thought " he's not over her".  He surely CD not see that coming at final rose day.

I dawn going to watch this season but I did and I'm ready to watch and enjoy.

Loved seeing baby Samuel.  He's a beautiful, happy little guy.  I still remember being shocked when Catherine was chosen.  Good choice!

Carly is living large.  I didn't realize Evan had $$$$.

Evan has clinics that treat erectile dysfunction, so he has loads of cash.  Face it, men are gonna spend as much money on their weanies as they have!  They will do and pay just about anything to keep a hard-on, so Evan was smart to go that route.  I imagine his ex & 3 sons can plow through plenty, but Carly will make certain to get her share, since she wasted NO time getting knocked up.  Before the wedding was a smooth move.

Girl was just waiting for her golden goose, and it's named Evan!

I finally watched.....looks like a typical season. I know Arie has a bit of a shady past, but hey, we all did things we regret. Hopefully, he really is ready to settle down.

I couldn't stand Carly's giggle for one hour, let alone a lifetime!
Samuel is so cute, a mini Sean! What was with the coat Catherine was wearing??

Have any of them really been looking to settle down?  Maybe Sean, but not many others.

I do liked Carly and Evan, but she does think she is the cutest thing ever lol. I knew he had to have tons of cash owning those clinics.

as soon as i saw arkansas i thought if raven. So in the previews who is the girl with the very short hair?

That is Bekah and this is what RS says about her....

Spoiler

Bekah Martinez: 22, originally from Fresno, CA but currently living in LA and working as a nanny. Recently accepted to UC Irvine to major in art. The “hippie” chick of the season, so to speak. Doesn’t own bras, never wears bras, and is very outspoken in the house. Somewhat the “Corinne” of this season. Was the girl on the wrestling group date that producers told the audience to “boo” when she came out.

The new ads are pretty cheesy, but heaven help me, I like "Janu-Arie" a lot better than "Juan-uary"......*LOL*  It looks like Arie is definitely bringing the sexy, charm and the cute, at least for my 20-years-older-than-him eyes!

Rachel & Bryan seem to be doing well, and skeptical as I am, they really do appear to adore each other.  Good for them, just enjoying themselves & not rushing to get married.  And it's nice to see a recent franchise couple not milking the limelight every 9 seconds and desperately looking for media attention.

Dear hubby has taken to watching this show since we met about four years ago.  He wasn’t around for the Arie original season, but once he got a look at the name, he recognized it from racing.  Now he is all excited about the season.  I keep him unspoiled but I had to look it up after the ep was over.

When he saw the run-up with Emily, he was surprised too that Emily didn’t choose him, but the repeat of the ATFR left him calling her the B word when she confessed she hadn’t read the journal that Arie travelled to Charlotte to hand-deliver on her doorstep.  Said Arie dodged a bullet with that one.

I'm still convinced Em was very hot for Arie and would have felt worse about eventually dumping him, but wasn't that sympathetic towards Jef.  She knew she wasn't going to marry anybody, so being merciful towards Arie was in her best interest.  Nobody really liked Jef anyway.

I think she & Jef had an agreement to do the sham engagement thing for a while.  No proof of course, but I stick with that explanation! ;-)

I had no idea or i guess she irritated me so much that Arie was so devestated--I know Emily put on a show that she didnt do the fantasy suites but she so slept with Arie and it was prob the only time anyone he wanted turned him down. that was painful to rewatch.

You never know for sure but (during Emily's season) I thought that the tide really turned against Arie when Emily found out that, at one point in the past, he'd dated her producer friend and neither had bothered to tell her about it sooner. I think that unsettled her and did so with cause.

In terms of Jef, I never saw them as a fit. But I didn't love him (or even like him, really) either, though so many did. I do think that she thought he was cooler than she was/is and that it flattered her that he seemed to think she was cool too.

When it comes to Arie or Emily or any of them really-none of them really go into it for love. Most of them are open to it if it happens, which is the most I'd expect from anyone dating (although the show itself does pretend otherwise). I do think a few of the leads have been absolutely resistant to anything 'real' happening and actually aren't open to love (at this point in their lives) whether they're on tv or not. I don't know if Arie will be one of those, but I don't think Emily was.

OMG yes!! I totally forgot about that--yes that did piss her off but didnt stop her from taking him to the fantasy suite :)

I'm probably the only one on earth who can't stand Sean and Catherine. I literally cringe whenever he comes on the screen. You can just tell he lives for being on TV lol. He always sounds like he's so rehearsed whenever he talks. He bugs me so bad haha. Anyways, I'm excited for Arie. And I don't buy it for a second that him and Sean are so close, wth?! Am I missing something?

Nope, not the only one. It's too bad that he's been the only Bachelor in 21 seasons to marry his final pick; that means he and Catherine will be trotted out every time the show wants to remind us that "the process works."

I know, I know... I want to dislike them but they  are my ‘bad wine and frozen pizza watching old Cold Case reruns (while fretting about Lily’s non-brushed hair- seriously comb it) on Friday nights while the husband is out’ guilty pressure.    I just love their lobvious sell out game.  And Sean has been shilling for Arie for Bachelor for a couple years so it does make sense

I've always basically liked Catherine, but I can't stand Sean. He makes me cringe too. When people speculate that he's being groomed to replace Harrison at some point, I just hate the idea so much.

I don't like them either!  Catherine is ok but Sean, hell no.  I don't buy the friendship either.  They just wanted to trot them out yet again. Ashley and JP would be the obvious success to show off.   They probably don't want to do it, though.

That would 100% finally break the hold this show has on me. I loathe Sean. I can't fucking stand him. I can't really say why, he's not a murderer like the Drunken Farmer, or a slimball like Juan Pablo, but something about that smug, sanctimonious, I'm awesome face just makes me want to punch it. I don't watch when I know he'll be shown. So if he were host I could finally quit this horrible show forever. I kind of hope now that it does happen.

I think Sean was one of the few to go on the show to find a wife, but I still can't stand him.  And his stint on Celebrity Wife Swap made me hate him.  I like Catherine, but now I feel sorry for her too.

Love Ashley and JP.  They do a bit (who wouldn't with the $$ dangled), but they also have lives outside the show.

And I know I'm repeating myself, but when they were on After the Final Rose, they said they had dinner together (via Skype) almost every night since the proposal.  They had long conversations while they ate "together", so they really got to know each other.

I caught the very end...couple catch up and sneak peek. Why no Jordan and Jo Jo? Every time they went to Dallas (wow!  lots of Dallas couples), thought it was going to be them.

One of the girls...I think Tia?  Looks EXACTLY like Jo Jo

Lets see how long I can remain spoiler free. The age thing intrigues me since her age is not listed like all others. That will be what drags me to spoilers.

I really ended up liking Holly and Blake too. I  wish they'd get some coverage; really ANY coverage would be fine.

For that matter, I'd like to see more of all past couples who don't currently have Sean Lowe as a member.

I keep thinking about Emily and how she just be feeling and thinking about this season.  They did a special on her The Bachelorette season.

Her life is so different now with her husband, daughter and three young sons.

Just rewatched this again while cooking (watching episode 1 later today and wanted a reminder of who is who)  and it got me thinking:

Arie has been “this close” to being the Bachelor at least twice in the last 5 years (and has been mentioned more than 2x) and he’s obviously wanted the gig quite a bit (there’s nothing wrong with that) . In a way, it feels like he’s basically kept himself  ‘on-hold’  while waiting for it to happen.

By all accounts, in the time since Emily’s season has ended, he’s dated a lot of women and even been in some long term relationships, but nothing has been serious.  His last girlfriend of over a year (I’ve read both 1 and 2 years) has said that Arie never told her that he loved her.  I assume that that’s because he didn’t. It happens, but a year+  is a long time to sit in a go-nowhere relationship if you’re looking for something more.

So Arie probably wasn’t looking for more. Which, again, is fine (as long as everyone knows the deal and everyone is a consenting adult, I don’t care what sort of relationships people participate in).

But I think it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll be open to something like marriage now that he got the job that he’s been waiting for.  I don’t even mean, “I wonder if it’ll work out with whoever wins his season”, because probably not for a million reasons.  But I wonder if in a year or two he’ll end up marrying someone  he used to date or someone he met on Tinder or something.  Because I think in a very real way, he wasn’t going to be willing to settle down until he got to become the bachelor.
