She's not a minor..she can do all of the above things, without their permission.

   But if she's living at home, they could tell her she can't keep doing this crap and still live there. (Tough love)

She needs to be supporting herself if she wants to do this kind of stupid stuff.

She talks so slow.  Sounds like she is dim.  But has traveled the world....interesting juxtaposition.

Cortney is obviously stupid enough to go to Spain on her own --  She could also have called on Nev and Max to go with her; they went to England a while ago.   But I keep thinking the producers, who are clearly going to be her traveling companions,must  have some idea of what, and who, is on the other end of this trail.    Her parents are talking far too mildly about the probability of 'Antonio' not being who he says.  If I were her parent, even though she's 26, I would really put my foot down and try to stop her.  But obviously the parents know the producers are in their kitchen - and will be within two yards of her throughout.   So - it's not as dangerous as it looks, and it'll mean Reality fame!  'Yay! 

Because I'm weak I tried to find some spoiler-y info on these two and couldn't find a thing.  Without cheating on the rules here, did anybody else find anything?  Not asking what - just, should I keep looking?

Per the previews, this is a Catfish classic. It looks like her friends found out he has a porn hub...so instead of assuming that she's been texting someone who is using someone else's pictures, she assumes he has all these secrets that he hasn't disclosed to her.

I think there's something wrong with her mentally, in all honesty. She seems to need someone (her parents) really taking care of her. But as stated above, I guess they feel like she'll be with production so she won't be meeting the guy alone in some dark alley.

Production definitely knows who's on the other end. They had to get his permission to film and make arrangements. And if it turns out bad, they should be skewered.

I don't think Cortney is slow, but I do think she has emotional issues. She's searching for the wrong thing in the wrong place. As a parent I would try my best to intervene with this as well, but ultimately there's nothing they can do. She's putting all her eggs in this one basket by saying if she gets hurt again she's 'done with love'. She's very naive if she thinks she'll never get hurt again. With production along I doubt it will be physically dangerous, but she's on a path to get hurt yet again emotionally.

I wonder if she's as stupid as Narkiya, the one who flew all the way to Vietnam to hook up with Luowo, the Nigerian prince.  He charmed her with chicken skin, fuzzy pink handcuffs, and cupcakes for a ball gag. She knew full well he was a smelly catfish, but she didn't seem to care.

While you were all focusing on the important stuff, the minute I saw her dad, chewing open-mouthed, with a full load of food in his mouth, much like a front loading washing machine as it's first starting up, I was transfixed. And not in a good way.  I couldn't un-see it.  And I couldn't really focus on anything else, except waiting for her dad to shovel the next bite in, and then regale us all with open mouthed, sloppy talking.

Can't blame them much what with dealing with Cortney, who decides she'll sleep on the man's couch, or that he will so she can take his bed. Yes, I agree.

My question is why a person at her age when her friends are all probably building careers is she not working?  Is she on some sort of disability? Did she have some sort of mental breakdown? If so, her parents are doing her no favors letting her pack a bag to go anywhere alone.

I can offer a non-spoiler which y'all may have seen.  Cortney isn't on tomorrow's episode at all, evidently.  But Drogo has posted (paraphrasing here) on the still-closed thread for September 10 "Cortney hopes Antonio will be at the airport."  So - although we saw her get on the plane last week, she doesn't get off of it this week.  There's a long wait here with zero hints to go by.

Nah, Cortney probably forgot to get off the plane in Spain and flew onto Borneo. There, she is entranced by an Orangutang named Antonio., who woos her with Banana smoothies. When she is told of her mistake , she (sadly) makes her goodbyes and is off to Spain again next week,       THAT is why she is not on this weeks episode.

I really think this was just an attempt to get her on television, and actually suspect her friend, who claims to be an expert detective, is helping her. She knows Antonio doesn't exist. Someone suggested that she was trying to get on Catfish, and I'm guessing when they didn't bite at her obvious fake boyfriend, she moved on to this show. "Antonio" would have had to sign permission for his photos to be used on this show, so they know the Antonio chatting with Cortney is a fake.

She is so dumb that her part of the show is boring. I want trash like Dani and Mo in their first season. Obvious scammers scamming each other, not someone just wanting her 15 minutes of fame. Darcey is another, but she is at least enjoyable to watch as she makes a fool out of herself.
