How the fuck do you get into a car and NOT know what the buttons do?

My mom would have slapped me on  the back of the head and said, " STOP playing with the buttons and WATCH where YOU are going!!"

Wasn't that a rental car that Carole had? I don't rent cars all that frequently, but the last time I was in LA, I did rent a nice vehicle--much more modern and updated than my decade old Mazda 3 lol. I only learned to work the Bluetooth of the rental and didn't futz with all the other stuff because I didn't know what they did. I was curious, of course, but too scared to actually start pushing anything.

Wow!  Carole's kitchen looks great.  Last time I saw it on the show was prior to the remodel.  It appeared a lot smaller, and it was super cluttered.  She said she didn't cook, so I guess her kitchen was  where she used to store stuff.  It looks 100% better.

I felt really bad for her and it perfectly captured the shock, fear and sadness that many felt that night and the weeks following election night. In the previous episodes, I got the vibe of 'this is what I do so I know more than you' but last night, I finally was able to appreciate the true passion and emotional investment she put into this election and I truly felt for her. She represented a large number of people who took some time following the election to really get their heads right.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I felt bad for her, especially after all of her comments about us "less informed folks,"  but I can understand her sadness and fear.  That's how I felt when we, as a nation, were told  "you can keep your health insurance plan if you like it," but then months later got our cancellation notices.  I got no sympathy from people like her, and that affected my life negatively.  Still does.

Good on Carole though if she pulled herself together and moved on.  That's all you can do.  There's no need to carry on and act like the world just ended.  Do like many of us did in 2008 & 2012;  take the loss with some modicum of dignity and go back to work and get on with one's life.  It's how grown-ups handle disappointment.  YMMV.

I love Carole's kitchen.  Beautiful for a small space.

I agree. It's chic. But running long stripes on the floor when the kitchen is long and probably no wider than 8 feet is a "brave" design choice.

She has a tiny upstairs that was mostly her closet and when she remodeled, she turned it into her office, IIRC.

I think her bedroom is upstairs, too.

HA! After today you won't have to worry about that.

This show seems to have turned into a series of scenes featuring Ramona insulting the other Housewives.

Sonja is treating Tinsley like she's pledging her sorority.

Because I follow the housewife RE porn a little much-

The kitchen originally had a Sub Zero (or similar) at the end. Carole or the architect switched that out for refrigeration drawers under the counter. It opened up counter space and made the kitchen look much larger even if she lost refrigerator capacity. Drawer to the right of the sink a single dishwasher drawer. She has almost double height ceilings and they bought the unit as a shell. So the kitchen is short because she stacked that closet mini-office above like a loft but closed in. Bedroom and bathroom on the main floor. They supposedly sold one of JFK's rocking chairs to fund the endeavor.

I'm not crazy about how her living room is arranged but love the foyer wall treatment.

Adam is looking for a live-work arrangement not a live in job. Live-work is the buzz word for apartments/townhomes/lofts that have professional space paired to the living area. In his situation it will be tricky because a commercial kitchen has a shit ton of regulations/code requirements. Probably second only to medical or industrial buildings. If someone has skills there are some Adam modeling shots floating around out there. I don't know if he earned and actual living as a model or just did a couple of gigs but that was one of his prior jobs. Supposedly his family owns either a grocery store or grocery distribution center.

I actually liked carole the last two episodes and she annoyed me since the minute she was on the show. Its been an odd ride this season. She has admitted she has no where near the money that celebrity net worth site lists and that her agent convinced her to do Housewives by pointing out she has bills to pay. I think she and Luann are the ones most careful with their actual money regardless of the other Howives ability to earn more.

If you look at the back of that kitchen, you see two stainless drawers.  That may well be the 'refrigerator'.  Heck, even the person who hates to cook needs a refrigerator for the leftovers from take out.

Sorry, I'm not getting the taking of the husband's last name reference.  Carole married.  She took her husband's last name.  So what?  That's been tradition.  Not that I have a problem with a woman keeping her maiden name.  I don't see ulterior motives.

Ro is trying way too hard to present this idea of her being so happy.  So does Sonja.  I don't think either are 'happy'.

On another note, and many may disagree, I thought Ro's date had a slight resemblance to Mario.  Maybe it was the mouth.  I don't know but I saw something that made me look twice.

And...someone made a comment about Carole's steps having a chair rail.   The rail was always there.  It has to be there by code.  With that said, those steps are freakin dangerous.  They may be 'cool' but no way would I have them in my house, given my clumsiness and having pets.  Yep, no way.

Lastly, I think Sonja has aged extremely well, given the picture we saw with her and Trump from long ago.  She looks better now.  I don't think she's had much done and as much as I think she's a bit sad and 'out' there, girl looks good.  Lu looks great.  I don't think she's had much done either.  And both have bodies to die for, especially at their age.  Unfortunately, Ro is looking more and more plastic.  She does look good for her age but the face is showing too much work.  And ... the implants are never going to hide that she is an apple.  She's always going to have a tummy and that doesn't work well with her new breasts.  I really hate criticizing an other woman's physicality (#Trav) but both Ro and Sonja keep talking about it.  Dorinda also has a great body and I agree that she is more handsome than traditionally 'beautiful'.  That's not a criticism.

Carole might be my least favorite HW on any franchise, but, yeah, that was hard to watch, mainly because, regardless of what side you are on, this country has had a devisive several months and the upset she was feeling has been felt by a lot of people on all sides.

I don't mind Tinsley, but her Little Bo Peep aesthetic is so over the top and silly.

Is it just me or does anyone else think all the blondes hair looks pinkish in the talking heads??

I agree with others who have suggested that Ramona should cut her hair.  You can't be 60 trying to rock the same hair as her twenty something daughter.  It's a desperate attempt to look young.  She also looks like she has a deviated septum.  Her nose is going east.

First time chiming in in a while and I'm surprised that no one has brought up the T-shirt with the quote "A Woman's Place is in the White House" issue.   Thought that phraseology was kind of odd as it could be interpreted a number of different ways.  Weren't women always (living) in the White House?   I know it was meant to convey in a leadershio position, but the phrase is so open ended that I could see people making a lot of snark of it, especially if they are not Hillary fans.  Oh well, overall I thought this episode was pretty good but like other others said I hope we don't have to hear too much politics anymore on these shows.  I dont really want to know their politics as it reduces my enjoyment of watching them and possibly liking them if their politics don't match mine.  That's sad I know, but it is what it is.  I actually appreciate Bethenny not waxing on about her politics.  That's exactly what I want in my silly HoWIves shows.  We watch this crap mostly to get away from OUR realities!

FWIW, I don't think Ramona looks horrible, quite the opposite, but those needles in the Face!  Eeewww!  Gross!  I think they all look great for their ages.

Doesn't she have extensions in her hair? Wasn't she selling them or something ( spokeswoman)  if I see women her age with really long hair, I always think the extensions have taken over. I want to yell run!!!!

That goes for most HW shows .Not just Ramona..

I missed the first 15 minutes of this episode during the original airing, and just caught it last night. I was more shocked than usual by Ramona in her TH during the facial treatment. The whole "I cannot believe how good I look. I never expected to look this great at this age". Who in the world says something like that out loud? She has to be exhausting to be around with her consant need to be reminded of how awesome she is. For example when she was showing the pics of her and Avery to Beth and Beth didn't remark that she looked beautiful. "Don't you think I look beautiful"? Exhausting and I just cannot imagine there are that many men that have the energy for it all.

And the way she treated her date. First of all, not even remembering his name. What a nutter. Then the way she treated him at her party. Literally turning her back to him when she was the one who had invited him and she knew that he didn't know anyone else at the party. And then doubling down on WWHL. She didn't care for his shoes? What the fuck? Any normal person would have taken that opportunity to apologize and say she hadn't treated him very well and she felt bad about that, even if she really did not. It is shocking to me that Avery has turned out so well (from what we have seen).

At the end of the day, Ramona is an insecure woman because of her upbringing and the loss of her marriage.

She was on WWHL and she looked radiant.

I agree with the poster that she looks prettier now that she looked when she was younger.

Her cellulite free body is a testament to her discipline, imo.

The best Ramona ever looked was Season 3.  Everyone complimented her and she has not gotten off her Season 3 high.

I am not seeing the beauty or freakish youthfulness Ramona claims she possesses.

I agree.  Most of us don't run around saying that out loud, but in Ramona's defense, Mario's affair was probably more devastating to her than what we saw on TV.  IMO, an affair is one of the worst things a spouse/significant other can do to their partner.  You go through self-doubt, low self esteem and a lot of comparing yourself to what you got traded for.  Maybe she's just trying to reassure herself that she's still attractive and that she will find love again.    I'll give her a pass on this one for that reason.   Having said that though, it's not a good idea to ditch your date at a party in which he probably knew nobody!  Poor guy!  Maybe it was edited that way.  Maybe she was with him more than what we saw.

Ramona is just mean, be it her insecurity or her inability to think of anyone but herself.  Season 3-Alex certainly looked better on WWHL than she did Season 3.

I loved Carole's mom.  The story about her protesting the protesters was great. It gave me a little more insight into Carole's character to know that she was raised by a mom who had a lil' bit of activist running through her.

Yeah, she seems relatively well-adjusted, in spite of her parents.

I'm sure Avery has deep scars from her parents' marriage imploding. I scanned Ramona's book when it came out and there was a scene in there when divorce rumors were swirling and Avery ran out of their Hamptons home and collapsed on the front lawn when she heard about them, so Ramona then lied to Avery that they weren't getting divorced because Avery was so upset. It's so sad to hear about that and doubly sad that Ramona didn't give her child some privacy and leave that out of her book. God bless Avery.

On one hand, I'm not surprised because it's Ramona. But on the other, I'm still flabbergasted that even watching herself on TV that she still acts so oblivious to her behaviour. It would make her only slightly more redeemable if she at least had awareness about herself. Instead, her tag line suggests - if you don't like her, acquire some taste, lol.

I agree that Avery seems like a great girl from what we've seen - her mother has probably helped shape her by demonstrating behaviour that Avery has decided she doesn't like and doesn't want to mirror, lol.

Ramona/Alex/Andy on WWHL

C--jBVBXUAAchZ6.jpg

Ramona was hilarious on the show. When Andy brought the game portion forward he had Ramona stand in front of the green screen wearing opaque sunglasses. They made it appear as though she was standing on a city street corner.

She had to guess the names of men from the HW series from Alex's clues.

I think she got one right. The Count

Picture of Jacques came up and she was like yeah yeah what's his name. The Nose.

Couldn't even get Harry - who she claimed was at her party because they are such good friends.

At one point, Alex shouted out YOU SUCK

Andy was laughing so hard, so did I.

She is totally clueless and I love it

Maybe that TruReNeWal skin stuff Ramona was trying to make happen really does work or she has a good plastic surgeon, ok let's go with the plastic surgeon.

Honestly, Ramona does look good but her inner beauty is no where to be found which can add years to the outer beauty.  Loved they way she treated her "date" at the birthday party, just chill while I turn my back on you and sit at table with some random besties of mine. If that guy was smart he would be working the room to meet someone a little nicer. Cut to her jumping up and down with her friends just made her look pathetic, what is wrong with being a mature in age and otherwise woman?  I don't know anyone that would go out on a first date on their birthday and if they did they would remember their dates name.  That first woman that Ramona chatted with must have wanted to die of embarrassment, 5 seconds on camera and the filterless Ramona is talking about that women's boobs, oy vey.

Are we to believe that Dorinda actually paid or planned that party?  The planning would have made good viewing, looking at locations, caterers, flowers etc...'cause it's been a bit of a snooze fest this season.

Carole is the human sigh, lifeless and boring.  At the end of the party she was walking out with Yummy Mummy who looked wonderful and not Adam, I wonder if she admonished him for not being all rah-rah for Hillary and not staying until the end.  Truthfully Adam looks so bored with Carole and the only reason he is around is because of real estate.  It was mentioned he is looking for a work/live space which to me sounds like the brilliant and talented chef is not working.

Bethenny is not always my cup of tea but I do like that she has the ability to just say no to an invite because she would not feel genuine in her well wishing to the birthday girl.   Rachel Madow? Wow, where do you think their paths ever crossed?

Good for Alex and her husband on pursuing something other than a reality show career!  Didn't they once do a show about celebrity divorce?  I remember seeing a clip of them yelling at each other on that show, and I sighed at seeing how undignified the whole thing was.   I think it's sad to put your kids through the reality show grind too.

Yeah, I find this crass too.  This happens on the other Real Housewives shows, and I've always found it odd that these women are so fixated on each other's breasts!  I guess they're all competing for the biggest, bestest titties award, so maybe that's where it comes from.   I hate it when they walk up to each and start touching the other person's breasts too.  That happens a lot on the RHOBH (Beverly Hills for those of you who might not watch it!)   You watch all of these shows though and they're all sizing each other up at every single function they go to.  Kyle even joked about this on the RHOBH.  Something along the lines of the obligatory air kiss, and the "you look great," "no,  you look great" conversation.

Was Alex in NYC for business and then Andy decided to snap her up, or did she fly all the way in from Australia to sit on the set of WWHL and say she doesn't watch any of the HW franchises? McCord is still so suspect to me.

It's like that time during whatever season when she, Simon, and their boys were splish-splashing in a blowup pool in their backyard, claiming that they didn't really like going to the Hamptons during the summer, or how they deliberately travel to St. Bart's during off season because they were, essentially, not joiners. The Carole/Mom discussion while driving to Pennsylvania made me chuckle.

As Carole is driving through the Holland Tunnel, she says if there is as issue they need a contingency plan. She wants Jason Bourne or MacGyver to come in

Carole's mom - there is no contingency plan. You're gonna drown. LOL

True story: I was in car service going through the Lincoln Tunnel. About 500 feet in we came to a stand still. People were getting out of their cars to see what was up ahead. A car was first steaming and then it went up in flames. The tunnel filled up with black smoke and people were screaming back up your cars, back up, back up! We were all STUCK. I got my laptop bag and coat and hoofed it out of the tunnel. There's no sprinkler system in there. You really would just die....GAH!

Wasn't t there a Sylvester Stallone movie when there is some type of catastrophe in a tunnel too?

I am with you, since September 11, I do a quick prayer when going thru the bridges and tunnels.

That would be scary!   I'm glad you made it out okay.  I would feel claustrophobic if I was stuck in there.   I don't like being stopped at a light under an overpass.  I have a fear of it collapsing on me.  I was once working within a mile of a condominium (8 stories)  being built and they didn't let the concrete set correctly and it collapsed on the workers.  I'll never forget the vibration I felt when it happened, so that's what goes through my mind when I'm in a parking deck or under an overpass.  I'd  freak out in a tunnel too.  I definitely couldn't make it through the Chunnel from the U.K. to France.

I wish Ramona never got a boob job. She had a really nice figure before. I met her pre boobs and she was really tiny and slim and really stunning.

Ramona has always been consistent in that she has no filter. The season Kelly was on, Jill Zarin had a lunch at Saks Fifth Avenue. She walked right up to Kelly and asked if she was fixing her boobs.

Bravo shot - look at Ramona's awkward hand position.

Oh Ramona!

Or because she has said in the past that he wants children and understands he will eventually move on to a woman who can give him that?

My bigger question is, what money? I am sure she is very comfortable financially, but I certainly don't think she is rollling in money. Wasn't the idea that she was filthy rich debunked long ago? By her no less?

I think she has just enough money for herself, and not enough for him- or $ she could lose if she remarries.

It was THE greatest WWHL I have ever seen, I was LOL and roaring laughing at that bit with the men she couldn't ID- the PIRATE- I about died... and the Ra-montage at the end instead of his Jackhole of the day. And the Herman Munster shoes on the bar. The only thing I was disappointed with was not a  glimpse of Simon in the audience I wonder if he went.

On WWHL when they discussed Carole spoiling the surprise of Ramona's party, Alex said "She ruined the F-ing surprise!" it was cute.

Oh Ramona!

How far they've come. Remember when Ramona stormed off the reunion stage at the mere conversation of Alex posing nude in some hotel?

Sometimes things are what they are, or what they'll be.  Her Mom was funny in her deadpan delivery of that line though!

I definitely couldn't make it through the Chunnel from the U.K. to France.

It was the thick black smoke that freaked me out, with the knowledge that the car on fire could blow up from the heat. There really was no where to go in the car - cause all of the cars are stuck. There are cars behind you stuck too, and cars behind them, waiting to get passed the toll booth. If you stayed, you'd either die of carbon monoxide poisoning or get injured from flying shrapnel.

It made me realize, if there was a car accident with serious injuries, how the fuck is an ambulance gonna make it to the injured parties?

I went back to my office in the city. I used a ton of paper towels that came away with gray soot. Ugh.

As for the possible Chunnel in your future....

My touretzy turtle was able to name the BAR he worked in..Bwahahaha

Alex gave really good clues. The Johnny Depp character, he had sex with Sonya and Luanne.

Ramona answer - Tom?

I howled!!!!!

I would have loved WWHL to end with Simon coming on to dance with Ramona.

The best Ramona ever looked was Season 3.  Everyone complimented her and she has not gotten off her Season 3 high.

I am not seeing the beauty or freakish youthfulness Ramona claims she possesses.

She looks good for 60.

Ramona's 60th Birthday cake

C-9MRmSXcAAkrWH.jpg

The cake and other desserts shown were really done well. The food looked delicious.

This was done by Dorinda - she made it nice and didn't have to say

I'm picturing a very different feel if Luanne planned this party. You know the cake would have had 60 ginormous votives stuck into it - with the kind of wick that re-lights itself after Ramona blew on them.

Me neither, not when the London/Paris flight takes about an hour, and I don't even like flying. But the chunnel is insane to me.  That tunnel car on fire experience sounds terrifying. I also loved when Carole's mom said she'd drive them home from PA: "It'll be faster." Carole looks like she drives as slow as she speaks.

Question: Where can I see a repeat of WWHL? Does On Demand have them? Or Bravo?

I wonder if it's part of her RH contract that Tinsley has to stay in Sonja's house for this season and that's why she's not looking at apartments? Maybe toward the end of it, they'll show her shopping around with one of the Million Dollar Listing NY guys.

I agree with you that she is just plain mean, once again because of her insecurities, imo.

Ramona is deplorable. She would send a 15-year-old to the chair and not think twice about it no matter their background and upbringing so pardon my lack of sympathy for a 60-year old that hasn't managed to get it together yet. She is a complete and utter asshole that should be shunned not admired.

Admired? By whom?
