I've had enough of Amber. How insecure is she that she has to constantly ask BOO BOO if she's having fun at the party/glad they did the party together. Good grief. I've never heard a parent ask their child so many times if they are having fun at their birthday party. It's a party...wtf do you think?  Amber also looks awful.

You can tell how much more connected Leah is to Christina than to Amber. It was kind of pathetic the way Amber had to call Leah over to her when she first came in the building and was joking with Christina about tricking her.

In the aftershow, Cate and Amber actually looked really pretty.

Cate can be super cute if she tries. Keyword TRY. Which she never does. She just sits around in hoodies with that lank strip of bangs greased to her forehead. Ew. I'm a SAHM, but I do my hair and makeup most days. If you put in a bit of an effort, it can do wonders for your mental state.

God, I'm so loathe to defend Farrah ever but this is actually a thing.  I lived in Austin for 3 years and was fine for 2 but the third year I had crazy allergies out of nowhere.  I had never had them in my life.  I think it's cedar that's bad down there and it's like your body suddenly has enough and can't deal with it anymore. It happened to my ex and some friends as well but all on different timetables.

Oh okay, interesting. So maybe she legit has allergies and not a case of "Chasing Simon".

I found it hilarious that every single person she mentioned San Diego to questioned if it was because Simon. I was surprised how well Farrah kept her cool when presented with that question.  Then again, it wasn't Debz asking it. Wow, imagine the blow up that would have ensued had Debz said that!! Hahahaha, oh Farrah.

I think it makes sense for Farrah to want to live in California over Austin. Never been there, but it seems like a very hipster kind of place and I can't see Farrah fitting in there. It's stupid that she opened up all these businesses in a place where she wasn't sure she'd want to live long term though. As to whether that's good for Sophia? Kids are adaptable. I think what's most important is that Farrah stays away from her mother. Sophia can see grandma separately, but she definitely doesn't need to be living with Farrah because they are both crazy but together they're insane.

IDK why Gary would mention kids in front of Amber. Maybe he's doing it intentionally to make her uncomfortable because he has to know she doesn't want more kids. Amber doesn't strike me as particularly maternal, and I think the medications she is on makes a good excuse for not having more children. I think society just has an expectation that women are supposed to want children and love being mothers, but not all women are like that so Amber feels the need to pretend. It's totally fine to admit you aren't mother material.

Maci.. Why should Jen and Larry have to suffer because Ryan is an asshole, and has never been  actively involved in Bentley's life?  It doesn't seem fair.

Amber: We get that you and Gary are being civil for BooBoo's sake. Stop shoving it down our throats every five minutes.  Also, if Amber really wanted to show Leah what a real man was, she'd dump Matt. He's the example of what not to do.

Cate and Ty need to focus on Nova before they bring another baby into their shitshow.

Farrah: It must be nice to be able to move every five minutes. How about giving Sophia some stability? Also, she's just like Jenelle in the sense that she never takes responsibility for her actions. Always a blamer.

I know that this isn't a popular opinion, but I'm with Maci on this one. Bentley is at an age where some kids have trouble spending a night away so if he didn't want to go I think she was right not to force him. I just wish Jen had asked Maci because then there may have been a follow up discussion about how a visit could've worked (perhaps shorter than 4 days away or maybe the family comes to visit Jen and they get Bentley for 4 days without any other distractions, etc). Maci expects Ryan to be an ass and he does not disappoint her so conversations never evolve into a compromise.

So I thought about the Maci/Thanksgiving situation and I see both sides. First of all, she should have never asked Bentley what he wanted to do. Just thinking back to when I was that age when I had to spend holidays with my father, I was never given a choice. I never wanted to go, because going to my dad's meant having to spend time with my stepmom, whom I did not like. So every other Christmas, I whined to my mom and she always told me to suck it up. And I did. Because even though my dad was not the greatest, he was still my dad and that was his time. But my parents did have a visitation schedule set which Ryan and Maci don't and that makes it hard. Like many have you said, Jenn and Larry have been amazing to Maci, would it really have been that difficult for Bentley to go to Alabama with his grandparents (he would probably spend more time with them than Ryan anyway) since he went to Texas the year before?

I loved that little moment between Leah and Christina when Leah was like "you tricked me." It was very sweet and you can see they have a great relationship. Should we all chip in and send Leah on a workshop with Criss Angel or David Blaine so she can learn to make Matt dissapear for real?

So Amber is bi-polar with borderline personality disorder?  I wonder if Gary knew that before this episode?

Amber was diagnosed long ago. Everyone in Amber's world knows about her mental disorders because she constantly uses it as her go-to excuse when shit happens. Amber is acting as if she has been "re-diagnosed". No she has not. BD has always been there.

I am team Jenn and Larry on this. Yes, they raised a do nothing son. But should they Bentley be deprived of his grandparents because their adult son is a douche? They have been there for Maci since day one. I remember when Bentley was little he used to beg to go over there. Just because Maci kind of has her shit together doesn't mean that Bentley's relationship with Jenn and Larry is negated. If Ryan had his shit together, he would approach Maci about a  visitation schedule that includes holidays. But he won't do that because he doesn't want the responsibility. And Jenn and Larry realize they have no legal rights. So it's really up to Maci to be the bigger person in the situation and offer Jenn and Larry time at the holidays. Maci should not have given Bentley the choice. She should have said that he was going to Alabama this year and Texas next year.

Does Ryan work? Actually the larger question is does anyone on this whole effing show, with the exception of Farrah and her 500 businesses, have a job? I find it unbelieveable that no one appears to work. TM is not a job.

Most ridiculous moments of the episode:

Gary wearing shorts and a t-shirt in November. Does he have an aversion to long pants?

Leah wishing Matt away

Amber wanting to put chair covers on the chairs of the party room at the local arcade. She really has no clue, doesn't she?

Farrah getting all mad because the neighbors don't like to look at a port a potty and a horse in their neighbor's yard

Larry referring the Maci's refusal to let Bentley go to Alabama as "hokey pokey"

And why doesn't Nova wear clothes? Is it too damn hard to put a shirt on that kid? I realize that potty training is a bitch, but Cate has never felt strongly that Nova needs to wear clothes.

Butch can get off my TV. #famewhore.

I asked this here once and someone told me that it's probably more comfortable for someone as enormous as him.  Which I didn't understand because lots of fat people can wear regular clothes.

I'm sure this has been said somewhere before but it bears repeating. Farrah does NOT live or operate businesses in Austin. She lives in Lakeway, which is a completely separate city outside of Austin, with a totally different vibe. I have never once seen her or the MTV crew anywhere in Austin proper filming. And Austin is a place where filming for lots of stuff is going on fairly frequently.

As for the allergies in central Texas, it typically takes 2 to 4 years to develop them when you move to the area, and they can be overwhelming. The two primary sources are cedar and oak. When the cedar season is in full swing it is not uncommon for the sky to take on a yellow hue or look smoggy because of the vast amount of pollen in the air. So as much as I want to smack her across the head, the allergy thing is valid.

The Maci v gpas thing. I sympathize with Jenn and Larry, but ultimately, despite their constant presence in his life, their love and care, despite all of that? They aren't that child's parents. Would it be KIND of Maci to allow them to take him for the holiday, well sure. But ultimately that decision is Maci's to make.

Here's how I see it. Amber doesn't want to have kids with Matt. He'd probably be fine with it, because that's what he does - spreads his nasty seed from coast to coast, trying to get his claws into naive women. And I think deep down (maybe WAY deep down), Amber knows this. And she doesn't want to go there. She's too prideful to admit to all Matt's fuckery and leave him, BUT....she's not going to let herself have a kid with him. That's how I see it.

I agree. I also think Amber is dragging her feet on the wedding because she knows that marriage means she is even more financially tied to Matt and even though she defends him with outraged indignation, she must know on some level that he is a user who will fuck her over. Most people who sport big ugly engagement rings on their fingers are more than happy to go into nauseating detail about their wedding plans. Everytime that Amber gets asked specifics about the wedding, be it from Gary or Dr. Sad Panda, she hems and haws and sidesteps. I think she is subconsciously waiting for him to fuck up.

Why the *bleep* was ole' Labia Lips on the After Show? Teen Mom 2 is overall more entertaining than OG, but one silver lining is not having to see the ex Mr. Lowry on my screen for a few months.

I don't really buy Tyler's "depression". If there is one thing I've always thought about that kid, is that he's always "on", even down to the clothes he wears. I highly doubt he wears tiny hats when MTV isn't there, and he probably doesn't put on this whole "woe is me, I need a storyline that focuses on ME" persona either. Oh, and Ty? Bob's Big Boy called. He'd like his bangs back.

idk why Amber is so stubborn/prideful about Matt. She made a really bad decision having him in her life, but she could easily say "hey, I was stupid and in my 20s in a bad relationship. Shit happens." I wonder if he's gotten some damaging info on her and she's afraid that he'll take her money and release naked photos or something. He already released pics of his "injuries."

Tyler: Stop..just stop. You don't have a job. you have no life goals but you want to bring another child into your world? Really? If MTV pulls the plug on this sorry show, you will have to have a plan B to provide for all these kids and your slacker wife who also doesn't work. Get off your phone, Twitter and Instagram and start working on yourself...get a life coach and set some career goals or school goals.. show some gumption!

Farrah: Please stop crying on camera...yikes! When you cry it is just disturbing. How do you open three businesses in Austin and then announce you're moving to San Diego because your neighbors are upset about a mini horse living next door? Did you even check the animal ordinances in your community before going out and buying this poor animal for your spoiled brat daughter?

Sophia: You're 7 (or 8?) and you talk baby talk still?

Ryan: Is he on anti depressants? He has gained a lot of weight since last season..

Maci: Bentley shouldn't have been given a choice in the Thanksgiving decision...he's a kid. If he spent last Thanksgiving with Taylor's family then it's only fair that he spend Thanksgiving with his blood relatives on Ryan's side. Ryan should go back and mediate holidays.

Amber: Thanks God you can't have kids with Matt...best news ever.

I actually see both sides, but I think it's important to remember that all this discussing of Thanksgiving seems to have been done with JUST Maci and Ryan. I'm not sure if it would have been different if Jenn contacted her directly, but it's possible Maci didn't realize how important the Edwardses felt it was for Bentley to see certain relatives, and was just looking at it from the angle of the random father taking Bentley away for several days.

Maybe he's not cold. My husband is a big guy (though, largely muscle, nowhere near as big as Gary) and he does not get that cold in the winter. He routinely goes to work in just a t-shirt, or walks around the house in shorts during December. My little sister is very "hot-blooded" and I have hardly ever seen her in a coat. We live in the midwest! Some people just don't get that cold.

Do these people do anything other than go for pedicures and eat in crappy restaurants?

The horrific inappropriateness of Butch giving Nova a "Free Butch" T shirt cannot be overstated.

I have no sympathy for Tyler whatsoever. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.

Kim needs to shut the hell up, for real. "CATE! ARE YOU PREGNANT??" Klassy. And since when is Tyler some nobility who has to produce a male heir to secure the title and lands? Sheesh.

"Bew Bew"'s party. Oy. Christopher had to come to an 8 year old's party? They must not have wanted to leave him alone in the house, lest he make off with the silverware.

So now poor little Nova is peeing all over the floor too, just like the dogs. That house must reek. And yes, Tyler, 2 is too young. Unless you intend to be hypervigilant and watch Nova for signs and whisk her off to the bathroom whenever you see them. Tyler noticed it seemed she needed to go, but neglected to do anything about it!

I devoutly wish never again to hear the phrase "are you excited?". Everyone says it under every circumstance. "We're going to the grocery store! Are you excited?" "Its your birthday! Are you excited?" "So, its Tuesday! Are you excited?".  Enough already! Learn how to have a conversation!

Yes! Did you catch that Tyler said Nova was saying "Mommy, mommy" to Cate, and he thought that's when she had to go the bathroom. I'm sure Cate had her face buried 3 weeks deep in Instagram comments and didn't even notice Nova was calling for her.  Then when Tyler was telling Cate about that and trying to have an actual conversationa about the potty training, Cate had her face in her phone again and all she could muster was an "uh huh" and "yeah".

I also really, really don't want her to be homeschooled because she's going to be one of those weird kids with no social skill. I know not a homeschool kids are like that, but I know one family who never socialized their kids and now their 20-year-old son acts less mature than my 12-year-old nephew. Maci is looking rough.  Girl is not aging well.  I thought she was in the wrong on the Bentley situation.    It seemed like she was creating drama just for dramas sake.  Most of her content on the show is bitching about how Ryan never shows up for anything, then when he actually asks to spend time with him, she sticks it to him.    Jen and Larry have been very good to her and she stuck it to them too.

Amber and Matt look so miserable all the time.   Wish Boo Boo would have made him disappear for real!   Most people would have laughed at a little girl pretending to do a magic trick, but Matt was really pissed off.  Scary dude!

Tyler and Cait - please do not have any more children!

As someone who was homeschooled through high school, went on to college and got a Bachelor's degree and real job, has friends and is more socialized than most people on this show, I felt the need to speak out! Just offering a friendly reminder than not all homeschoolers are weird, unsocialized, super-religious, backwoods people! :) Having said that, I believe every single one of the kids on this show need to be in "real" school if for no other reason than to have an escape from their parents and learn some actual life skills!!!

Oh I know! And I mentioned that! But I feel like left up to her own devices, Farrah would turn her into "that" homeschooled kid if that makes sense. There's no way Farrah would make the effort to find social events for Sophia and maintain normal, friendly adult relationships with other parents so it would just be her and Sophia slowly morphing into a Grey Gardens scenario.

Starburst also clomps around in the house.  Sometimes she wears a huge bag around her hindquarters in case she needs to relieve herself.  Because horses love nothing better than walking around with a bag of shit attached to them.

Maci. Girl it's not that hard. Bentley is at a good age where you could have told him 'Benny, Papa really would like for you to go to Alabama with him and Mimi for Thanksgiving. Guess who'll be there? Papa's DAD! and his Mom. You haven't been for a visit in a while and they are going to be so excited to see you!" At some point it's ok for kids to hear that older/extended family is important too, and time is precious. Who knows if they'll still be around next year? And Maci doesn't have to do it for Ryan, or even Ryan's parents, but it's for Bentley's own benefit to meet his great-grandparents. Kids love hearing/knowing where they came from.

I think Maci could have just told Bentley the truth.  "Mimi and Papa are going to Alabama for Thanksgiving and they want you to go too, to see Papa's family.  Since I have all this Mtv money and free time, we can all go back to Texas in a couple weeks when you're out of school for Christmas break if you want."  Done.  And Bentley gets to do both and everyone is happy.

I figured they were only working on potty training her so they could send her to daycare, but not wanting to change diapers anymore seems plausible as well.

I bet they will teach Nova to drive when she is 12 so she can go out and buy quesadillas and Tim Horton's coffee for them.

Watched a couple of episodes all at once (I do not suggest doing this), so I don't remember titles.

The scene of Nova, Cate, Tyler and his mom at that restaurant was cringe worthy. Cate was all slumped down in the booth, Nova didn't give two shits that her grandmother was even there, and vice versa.  Awful.

She could go to daycare without being potty trained. At two, they expect kids to still be in diapers. (Although, they will often work on potty training in class. I did, with my kids.) Once you hit 3, that's generally when they need you to be potty trained to be moved up. Of course, this depends on the daycare, but that's been the case from my experience.

I don't really have a problem with them potty training Nova. It all depends on how receptive she is two it. I trained both my boys just months after they turned two. I think being sick of changing diapers is a valid reason; diapers suck. Of course, both times I had an infant at home, so I really didn't want TWO in diapers any longer than necessary. But they both caught on very quickly. I tried with my daughter (the youngest) around the same age, and no go. In fact, she wasn't trained until just before her 4th birthday. She is on the spectrum, so that definitely plays into it. But, just in general, some kids are ready sooner than others.

I say if they're ready, go for it. And I prefer the no-pants training. I just let my kids run around naked and have accidents and they trained much quicker. Not for everyone, but it worked for me.

It's always hard for me to judge Tyler and Catelynn on certain things, because I'm so relaxed about a lot of things as a mom, but they DO often come off as lazy, not "relaxed". I think there's a lot of passive aggressiveness with them too. Who's turn is it to change her? Who's turn was it last time? Having Nova potty trained may save these snippy little moments of Cate playing on her phone and shirking diaper duty, and Tyler being too much of a bitch to say anything.

I know. My post didn't come out right. Sophia is definitely going to be an odd duck, but I guess I was hoping that exposure to people outside the family might give her a glimpse as to how normal people should act.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I just gotta say, Farrah is bat-shit certifiably crazy!  None of her "conversations" make any sense.  Nothing she does makes any sense.  She just opened three businesses and now she's going to leave them in the hands of some "executive assistant who is dynamic (?) just like me" and run off to San Diego, apparently because her neighbors are having a problem with her keeping a horse on her property.

It's perfect for Farrah.  When one or more of those businesses fails, she can blame her executive assistant rather than take any responsibility herself.

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between an executive assistant and a manger-sounded the same to me by how she described it! Is it just her way of paying someone less money to do manger's work?
