The ladies didn't understand that according to some religions, including Catholicism,  you are supposed to have as many babies as god wants you to have - therefore ANY kid of birth control, other than the rhythm method, is a sin.  (Rhythm means only having sex during the time in your cycle that you can't get pregnant)

Reminds me of a joke -

Q:  What do you call people who rely on the Rhythm method to prevent pregnancy?

A: I don't know, what?

Q:  well,  I don't know what YOU call them, but I call them Mom and Dad.

The other answer to Whoopi's concern that people have opinions about other people having abortions when it's their body, their decision, is that people who are against abortion believe it is the same as murder.   So - terminating a pregnancy, to them, should be just as illegal as murdering a child after it is born.  And to catholics, an abortion is even worse than murder because you are terminating the life of a person who has not yet been baptized, therefore cannot go to heaven.

(Yeah, more years of catholic school than anyone you know!)

I'm only explaining these beliefs, I'm not saying they reflect my own thoughts.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING TRULY SUPERFICIAL - someone recently posted that Sunny was close to age 50, which amazed me, as ignoramus I had assumed from her appearance that she was late 30's - very early 40's.  Until today.  During the Tebowing demo, Sunny remained kneeling so long that I was willing (praying for??) Mr. HumblePieSuperChristianHeismanTrophierSouthernGent to extend a hand & help her up.  No dice, so she assisted herself via grabbing the table - been there, done that.  Aging stinks until you consider the alternative.

I have taken a break from alot of the news shows because I can't stand to see that orange pig,  or hear any of the BS coming from his camp.   I continue to watch the View for Joy and the lawyer lady--blanking on her name even though I have the show on right now. ..that's aging for you.

Joy is so smart. ..keep up the voice of reason. Whoops is still  overbearing as hell, even though I agree with her sometimes--I just wish the other two smart women on the panel, Joy and Lawyer, would be able to use the time (when Whoops'obfuscates)  to state outright, in  logical responses and questions that challenge why Jedi/Paula/CCB's arguments which are Christian-only and not fair to all the other people in the freedom of religion/speech U.S., are simply NOT FAIR.

And fucking wait for the answer before selling over-priced shit. Gah!

JediMoonFrye/Paula/Candace are interchangeable and their opinions are identical.

Even tho Geddie and Ailes are supposedly out of the picture, that pipeline remains uninterrupted. Starts with ? (maybe Bannon), goes to Fox and migrates to certain View hosts. Everybody stays on message like the good soldiers they are.

Watching Paula try to explain herself is actually funny.  I enjoy seeing sheltered little pinheads like her get flustered when pressed to defend their "thinking" which is actually not "thinking" at all, but rather is just a simple-minded recitation of catch-phrases, slogans, and half-baked theories that fall apart when challenged by people wielding facts and who are better informed about history.

I realize Paula fancies herself some kind of "newsperson" but she has simply been far too sheltered her whole life to have the perspective the job requires.  She never ventured far enough beyond the grassy knolls of Cedarville College before her mind was soldered shut to realize the world is more complicated than she was taught in Sunday School.  So there she sits on the panel - the epitome of the small town bumpkin who made it big based on "charm" but with no real, discernible intellectual skills to actually justify her position on national tv talk show.  It's sad to think how much better her job could be done by ... well, anybody.  But I suppose the day they needed to fill her seat on the show, the pickins' were slim in the secretarial-type pool of talent ABC maintains, so she got the call.  And now we get treated to gems like "if you don't like it here, leave!" as if that is a meaningful comment on the issue of flag burning.  Because if you burn the flag it means you hate America and if you hate America you should leave America.  It's just that simple. To her.

She really thought her old timey cry of "America, love it or leave it," was going to get the nods of approval that kind of drivel garners at her church picnics.  I loved her visible discomfort when that wasn't the response from her fellow panelists (although sadly a few of her fellow gomers in the audience clapped).

The thing is (™ Whoopi Goldberg), if Paula could pause taking it all as a huge personal insult long enough to really think about why people burn flags on occasion, she might realize they aren't doing it because they hate America.  They are whipping out their Bics because they are trying to change America.  Gasp, horrors, I know. The other "C" word, which probably offends Paula more than the other one does (that is of course unless you are referring to a change in things that would make her religious values the law of the land.  Because she's okay with that kind of change).

I think athousandclowns had the right idea ... maybe it's Paula who should leave if she doesn't like things the way they are in this country.  What with women having abortions willy-nilly all over the place and burning flags on every street corner, she should consider moving to North Korea where doing things like that can land you lifetime accommodations in the gulag ... or worse.  She might be happier there.

Please let him keep Twitter. The only consolation I have right now is tweeting him every single day that he is #notmypresident #loser #resist

I know it is petty and immature, but I feel better each time I do it.

Lest you think Ive lost it entirely, I volunteer locally, donate to Planned Parenthood, ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center.

But nothing is as sweet as my daily tweet to T****.

I will gladly share your joy. I personally cannot give him my clicks or attention, (and I don't have twitter anyway heh) but I'm glad you're doing that; I feel a little squeal of delight. Carry on!

I like Paula....there is something funny and awkward about her that i find relatable...and i know all about Cedarville(her college)....since my dad and my cousin and my cousins spouse all went there....and theyre as sheltered as Paula is.

The funny awkward part is fine. It's the strident , Bitsy part I have a YUGE BIGLY problem with.

Love this!  I gave up watching. But come here every day. May consider borrowing your twitter message. I donated to Planned Parenthood in honor of Mike Pence, to the Anti Defamation League and to the Human Rights Campaign plus subscribed to the Washington Post.  I still record the show and maybe will watch again.

I don't think it's petty or immature.   I have tweeted replies to his tweets, and I doubt he ever reads replies. (maybe he doesn't know how to)  But I take pleasure in seeing how many people tweet their disagreement as replies to him.  The day he DOES pay attention, it might deflate his ego just a tad - which would be a good thing. We're heading off topic, join the political conversation in that thread, if interested.  this thread is great:

For once, I have to agree with Jedidiah on the topic of Romney. When your world view is diametrically opposed to Trump, you've called him a con and a phony and more, it makes me ill to see Romney kiss up to Trump. Does Romney think he will have free reign to deal with other countries if he becomes Secretary of State, or does it occur to him that he would have to explain and interpret the craziness of Trump to the other leaders of the world? I don't get it. I've lost all respect (I didn't have that much to begin with)  for Mitt Romney.

  • Love 13

I agreed with Jedifoxbot about Romney too. Yeah, he is at the table but he is going to be the one explaining trump's ridiculous foreign policy plans. Unlike Obama and Lincoln, trump is not interested in listening to others' dissent. He does like the optics of getting rivals to support him, but that is all it is and he also relishes in humiliating them.

  • Love 11

Jedi preaching about Romney today came across so hollow. Maybe it's because she's fake so often, but nothing ever sounds genuine from her. As others have said, Jedi/Candace/Paula’s opinions are interchangeable, but Jedi is just more irksome to me than the other two. Maybe it's her awful voice, or the way she’s more likely to shout or steer the conversation into a mudpit than they are.

Tom Ford was handsome and I couldn't help laughing when he talked about Melania Trump. I wouldn't want anything to do with them either.

What made me absolutely nuts today (and I should be used to it by now) was the specific question asked to Jill Stein, "What will become of money donated for the recount, which is left over when the recount is done?" - and she slid immediately into how much money came in so quickly, and on the day before Thanksgiving, and what a lovely day Thanksgiving is, yada yada, and never answered.  I hoped possibly Whoopi would jump on that and say "Yes, but about the question that was asked .." but nobody did.   It's exhausting yelling at the TV set.

A handshake to those above who said you were donating to appropriate causes, or giving time locally.  'Yay !  Me too.

I'd say  CCB and Paula are more interchangeable with each other than with Jediblahblah. She tries to be this loud political "know it all" and would never walk off the set.

We are all waiting for CCB to take those steps!

I thought she said the money can't be used for anything except the recount and the lawyers at one point?

Worse, it's not $70K, it's $700K!!

I've heard that it is 700K per YEAR. There are other incentives that are not known yet too. Since United Technologies, the parent company of Carrier, is afraid of losing government defense contracts and facing continued derogatory remarks about Carrier from King Trump, they had to capitulate, although some jobs are still going to Mexico. I guess corporations now can say they are going to move production to another country and get lots of freebies and/or threats from the Trump administration, leaving us regular old citizen taxpayers in the lurch.

There's a rumor that Sarah Palin might be up for the head of the V.A. ( I just threw up a bit writing that.) I can't wait to hear the ladies of the View talk about that!

I wonder if The View will get Trump's "deal" with Carrier right ... Indiana is paying them $70K to stay, compliments of Governor Mike Pence!!  Voila!!

As a resident of IN I can't tell you how thrilling that is.  This is for the Indy plant.  Well, merry Christmas to those people.  The folks in Ft Wayne who are losing jobs too are demanding the same deal.

So Whoopi only eats two things?  Does pot count?

People are calling Trump's deal with Carrier a triumph, but I haven't heard anybody mention the thirteen-hundred Indiana Carrier employees about to loose their jobs on December 31st.

Well, Trump is making a "victory" appearance in Indiana today, so I'm sure he'll put the most positive spin on it, neglecting to mention the details of course. All hail, King Trump, Miracle Worker and Supreme Leader!

What was that discussion about likability and charisma? trump has a historically low unfavorable ratings and lost the popular vote by almost 3 million. wth. Was Hitler charismatic? Does it even matter when all he is doing is shouting racist nonsense and people eat it up because they feel the same?

Every day I am more convinced that JediFoxnewsshill says she is a libertarian as a gimmick.

I don’t want to hear any discussion about democrats being “elitist” and “arrogant” and ignoring the rust belt when those margin of “victories” trump got were so tiny and without the acknowledgement of voter suppression.

The fact is it wasn’t the lower income people that voted trump in those areas, it was college educated white people making $60,000 and above. HRC won lower income people.

I don’t believe they discussed how trump’s pathetic pr stunt about those Carrier jobs was just corporate welfare and most of the jobs are still going to Mexico.

I  am tired of the whole "Ugly Christmas sweater"  fashion.  And I think Whoopi is going to be instrumental in ending the trend.     You know how young people start a trend, and then abandon it once "frumpy old people"  start wearing it?  That's what's happening.  I predict that Whoopi's own Christmas sweater designs will be in the 70% off bin at Lord & Taylor before the year ends

Jed said  that she thinks the military approves of Sarah Palin pretty highly.  Ok, Jed, but you know thinking it doesn't make it so. Sarah Palin is an idiot.   Yes, she talked about PTSD -  but only AFTER her son got in trouble for domestic violence and needed a legal defense.    He wasn't diagnosed with PTSD before that, and sorry, but it opened the door for every man with a military background to excuse violence against women.

  • Love 17

Airhead Sara didn't say a word during the Trump charisma conversation. Joy and Jediblahblah go at it and she looks left and right. She is most "blue card dependent" person ever on this show.

She likes to hit people so much, why didn't she hit Jediblahblah when she said how much approval Palin has from the military and tell her that makes no sense?

Always a pleasure to see the very suave and articulate Van Jones. I think my favorite parts of this long, agonizing election was watching him on CNN. He was a welcome diversion and those last few months you could see that he was really at the end of his rope in dealing with the very unpleasant, rude Trump supporters.

Lightweights such as Corey Lewandowski, Kelly Anne Conway and Kayleigh McEnany would get shredded on a nightly basis and have their asses handed to them deftly by the ever charming Mr. Jones. When they attempted to go head to head, they were woefully way out of their league.

It figures that Jedi would defend Sarah Palin. No surprises there.

Agree about Whoopi's sweaters but for a different reason - they're ridiculously expensive!!! I saw them in a very high end store and was shocked at the cost.

Wow, if your appointment to an important huge department like the VA is judged on how much least damage you can do, that's an awful qualification. I'm disappointed in Sunny in saying she can see Palin in that role. I'm married to a Vietnam veteran and I care very much about veterans, but that doesn't make me qualified to head up a complex agency. Can you imagine  what kind of morale there would be in the VA if Palin were appointed? She's dumb as a rock, can't speak a coherent sentence, and she's a quitter.  By the way, the Obama administration has made a lot of progress in working on veteran homelessness and many other veteran issues, but they don't get much credit for it.

Did I miss it or was there really no mention today of Palin QUITTING her last elected position as governor?  If she couldn't serve out her term as Governor of the very red state of Alaska, why should she be even considered for a cabinet job?  Or maybe in Trump world she's better qualified to be Sec of State, since she can SEE Russia from her house...

It was Tina Fey impersonating Palin that said "I can see Russia from my house", Palin never said it. But everyone remembers it from SNL and thinks Palin did say it!!!
