I posted this in the Farrah thread, but I'm going to bring it here since these lines come from the episode.

Honestly, I'm starting to believe that Farrah has some sort of speech/communication/auditory processing type disorder.

"Figureoutable"

"You have to be allowing to open up yourself"

"If I'm being mistreated to you"

"I'm severencing the relationship"

"There's not an open-mindedness"

Girl needs to see a speech pathologist.  This can explain where a lot of her anger comes from when trying to communicate with others.  Yeah, she's a bitch or whatever, but I'm starting to notice clinical indicators that there is a real disconnect there.  If she were my psychotherapy client, I would enter a consult for a speech or communications disorder eval.  (Add this to my collection of TM conspiracy theories - Catleynn abuses harder drugs; Ryan has TBI.)

Amber is such a fool. She's been leeched off of by her loser boyfriend for the last few years, and now his son is going to join in. I totally don't buy Christopher's, "the drugs made me do it" excuse for selling stories about them. He has not attachment to Matt. Matt hasn't seen him in 10 years. He doesn't raise or care about ANY of his kids. I imagine every word Christopher said was true, and he really thought he'd get paid for the story. When that didn't happen, he decided to pretend to be sorry and just start taking money directly from the source - Amber. Look how Matt just made the call to fly the guy to LA, without even asking Amber. He runs that show now.

But Amber is just gross and deserves everything she gets. She doesn't care what Matt did in his past, because he's not doing it to her? That's like if I said, "I don't care that Ted raped and murdered dozens of women, he's not raping and murdering ME!" Like, what the fuck is wrong with you? And then....AND THEN...she starts with the victim blaming - talking about Matt's exes LETTING him treat them badly. Whoa. Dead. You are dead to me. Pray tell, how do you stop a man from abandoning you and your child, because I'm sure millions of women would like to know.

So yea, she made her bed. I just hope Leah can stay as far removed from this circus as possible.

This x 1000.

Would this be the same as a speech impediment? I can spell every word, easy or difficult, without ever hearing the word before but I can't for the life of me pronounce a lot of words. This has hindered my life in regards to people questioning my intelligence at job interviews or in basic social gatherings. Hence the reason why I decided to become a writer. A. I enjoy writing B. I can express what I hear in my own head without losing my credibility for the way I pronounce certain words. Usually 3 syllables and up give me trouble.

My mom suffers from the same thing and she said she was born viral meningitis and it gave her learning disabilities - would that pass on to her children?

Wow! I'm sorry for putting you in the doctors chair and the bill will be in the mail. ?

Farrah has, at best, a rudimentary high school education.  I can picture the type of student she was- she may have gotten good grades, but she is by no means intelligent.  She thinks that she sounds smart if she strings together big words that may or may not even exist.  I doubt she has ever read a book, or a newspaper, or been exposed to lucid, literate, well-educated people.  But the funny thing is she is trying so hard to come across that way, and is only succeeding in looking like a doofus.

Even if it WAS true, you don't make a nervous person feel more nervous. You step in and help them figure it out. Or at least I would. Maybe Farrah wanted the girl to fail, because she thought firing someone would make for good TV.

Awww, hang in there. My oldest had 4 words by his second birthday. Four. His former pediatrician even told me I needed to get him into speech therapy stat. But I knew he was fine and would talk when he was ready. Boy did he ever. By 2.5 he was talking our ears off and he is now an 8-year-old who reads at a 4th grade level and speaks better than many adults. It'll happen!

Nova probably had to learn to talk early so she could mediate the passive aggressive fights between her parents.

Thank you!!! I appreciate this response as my husband and I are worry warts about our babies.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kiana is an actress and the hiring and firing were all staged.

Amber doesn't want to be a decent person hence she will never attract a decent man.

I don't want to imagine how much Maci shells out in daycare for an infant and toddler.

When did this season start airing, August? I feel like this is the closest to real time it's ever been.  Did it start airing before they were finished filming? This ep was probably filmed in August or Labor Day at the latest if the kids are going back to school.

I posted a similar question.  The article in Radar that was referenced by Amber, Matt, and his son actually ran in late June.  (There is a link in the Previously TV recap for the show.)  I believe Butch got out of jail in early August 2015 b/c the Catelynn and Tyler's wedding was in later August and he was out about shortly before.  And, of course, the kids are going back to school in either late August or early September.  Also, Farrah mentioned the furniture store and the Sophia boutique, which have been more recent developments.

So I can only guess that, yes, we are closer to real time than we have ever been.  I'm not sure how many new episodes are left before we get to the reunion.  I have a feeling we'll finish off the season with Catelynn and Tyler's 1st anniversary getaway, Maci's wedding prep, Farrah basking in the glow of "businesses", and Amber and Matt sitting on couch.  I think the next season will probably start with Maci's wedding.

WTF was the surprise the title referred to? The birthday party? This was the least surprising episode in a long time. Next week looks more surprising than this week.

The only one who looked surprised was Matt's kid, to meet Dr Drew and get a free trip to LA. Their section of the show should have been re-titled "Uppah Middle Aged Sperm Donah" as opposed to Teen Mom, because Amber didn't even mention Leah this week. And it's probably pretty difficult to plan a surprise party for when the MTV crew is around.

I hope Tyler and his mom spent twelve hours on the bowl after consuming burgers cooked on a surface that rodents have turned into a fuckpad / toilet.

Matt and Amber try to convince everyone how happy they are together while looking completely miserable.    Yes Amber, Matt's past actually does matter and someday you will wake up and realize that this loser is a huge waste of time and money.  What was up with Matt's son being surrounded  by empty chairs in the Dr. Drew studio audience LOL

Farrah - True, she does differentiate herself from the couch sitter teen moms and at least try to get some semblance of a career going, but she is dabbling in way too many random business ventures (yogurt, furniture store, porn, children's boutique) so it's all a big WTF and since none of it  brings anything new and innovative to the world, I see it all going to crap at some point.  She is the true "jack of all trades, master of none".   I would expect high turnover of employees in all of her businesses!

Cate- Nova asks to go to bed because she has no schedule, no structure, no bedtime routine.  Tyler thinks she's a genius because she's overtired.

Maci - I would have a lot of respect for Maci if she walked away from this show now.  She really has no storyline other than the uninvolvement of Ryan in Bentley's life.  She has the most "normal" family situation with Taylor and her young kids and it would be great if she let them grow up away from the spectacle of this freak show, especially as Bentley gets older.

The explanation for her wanting to mention the name is either she'd already complained, to a seven year old, about her employee, or she's complained about MULTIPLE employees to a seven year old. Clearly not a lot of people in Farrah's life to have adult conversations with, I wonder why.

Forgive me if we've already covered this, but why does Maci have the kids in full-time day care if she's home all day?  I can see part-time, for the social aspect, or even to get a little break, but I don't understand full-time.

He was talking about nova basically deciding to put herself to sleep and saying night night. Which isn't crazy either but I didn't have a problem with it.

Also I'm sure that sometimes nova has to put herself to sleep sometimes because no one else can be bothered.

Ok, that makes more sense, then. Not that I look to this show for sensibility. Thanks for the clarification!

I can't get into the C&T stuff either, but couldn't help but savor the irony in all of the plaudits Butch is receiving, in an episode airing during the week he actually was violated back to prison. Maybe don't have that kind of party, I don't know. But these folks really grossed me out to the point of near vomit: they were using those public park barbecues! I know, science says that the flames and heat will destroy any bacteria that's on there, but if I invited you to my house, said "I'm going to cook up some brugers and dogs, oh yeah, and my grill is caked in bird shit, but I'm just going to heat that up, we cool?" would you be chowing down? GUYS, BIRDS AND SQUIRRELS AND RACCOONS USE THOSE. Not people. Go buy a $60 charcoal grill and do that! So disgusting. Even now I would throw uo if I typed any more.

RELAX. I'm sure that someplace in the weeds or near a pile of dog crap there was a crusty public wire BBQ brush that he used to tidy up the grill with. It may have just taken him a moment to find it. Perhaps Cate was lying on it.

Try not to worry!! They all go at different rates, just like with toilet training. I only meant the kids I've known have seemed particularly chatty at that age.

I still haven't figured that out. I hope it's because she is working full time someplace, but I know she said she wanted to "resign". You'd think they would have shown that on the show or brought it up again to at least give her SOMETHING to talk about for five seconds. If her only job is putting tacky ass t-shirts into bubble mailers at home, she can do that without the kids having to go to daycare.

then suddenly she's full on savasana on the ground...weird.

That was so damn annoying. Also, the child's name is Nova Reign. Why was she calling out NovaLEE?

Nova put herself to sleep because she learned that is what she should be doing. She sees her mother going to sleep all damn day.

Maci's next storyline should be her alcohol addiction to Bud Light.

@Calm81 it varies. Don't worry too much. My first child barely uttered three words at the age of two. The doctors had her hearing tested thinking she might have auditory issues. Nope. She was fine. She did great in school and was a non-stop talker by the time she hit kindergarten.

I had a little too much fun with my camera tonight. I have done that other episodes but have forgotten to post.

So, Amber thinks it's fine to be with someone as long as they have "fixed the problems from their past"?? And who would this be?? Fixed problems?? And yes, Amber, I'm sure Dr. Drew would call you out because calling you women out is his specialty.

Kiana cutting up kiwi while gloveless with those nasty ass nails!! UGH!!!! Granted, gloves would probably not fit over those talons, but nails like that are so unhygienic. Bleeeech.

And how can frozen yogurt of that type be "fresh"? Farrah thinks fresh mean mixing up a vat of fake colored corn syrupy possibly hydrogenated artificially flavored stuff.

Tyler: "What two year old or 1 1/2 year old says 'night night'??" Every one I've ever met, Tyler.

@calm81 I had the same issue with my younger son . Keep an eye on it - if your little one is still not expanding vocabulary then take action . My son went into early intervention thru our school district and began speech therapy etc in home , then various programs and full time school year round at 3. You have to advocate for your child so the school doesn't let him/her fall thru the cracks. My son is now a college sophomore in honors courses and deans list , it all works out . As the mom , you know when things aren't right and it's time for momma bear mode.

This week I'm reading the episode review first lmao I'm BEYOND excited to watch Farrah segments later !! She is a national treasure for laughs ??

Amber: If Matt is such a great man, stop telling us, and show us! He seems like a douche to me. And why do they call on Dr. Drew to do everything?  They'll do anything for publicity.  Also, Leah wasn't in this episode at all.

Maci: Stop whining about Ryan. Be happy that you have a decent guy.

Farrah: Why would anyone want to work for you?

Catelynn: It's obvious that what you learned in 'Rehab' did nothing for you.

I just posted this on the C&T thread. This is what was shown on screen regarding the adoptive agreement:

Quote

Cate and Tyler are requesting DVD recordings of Carly's birthday up until Carly's 5th birthday.
Tyler is requesting a birthday photo of Carly alone up until her 18th birthday.
Exchange of these will occur at Bethany.
Catelynn and Tyler may request visitation with the adoptive family...at the discretion of the adoptive family as they determine what is in the best interest of Carly.

Didn't Farrah also take a few college courses?

Farrah has an associate's degree in Culinary Arts & Management from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha (she was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, right over the state line from Omaha.) I'm sure her English instructors are mortified.

I teach community college (I do not teach English) and many students write the way Farrah speaks (with too many fancy words they use incorrectly and non-sensical consructs). But most don't speak like that.  Farrah, judging by her websites (which I'm sure she wrote), seems to both write and speak like that.

She has to help fold ugly pocketed T-shirts for Taylor's business and go on beer runs. (I'm 99.9% sure she said she was quitting her part-time gig with Check Into Cash earlier this season.)

I really wish Tyler & Cate would put Nova in daycare. They have the money, aren't interacting with her at home, and it would get her into a routine. I'm pretty sure they're the type of people who judge parents who have to use daycare because they work and say stuff like "I don't want my kid raised by other people" blah blah blah all while ignoring Nova and shipping her off to April's all the time. (I in no way mean that all stay-at-home parents judge daycare parents, etc. I'm just saying I can see C&T feeling superior to others by patting themselves on the back for "raising" Nova with a stay at home human couch cushion mom.)

I've always been disgusted with the way Dr. Drew is involved in the show, pretending to know what's going on in their lives and being up to date on everything and when Cate called him to get advice on going to rehab my antenna went up.  I knew it was all MTV driven and his involvement was minimal, but it wasn't necessary to involve him at all, imo.  But, it's tv...   smh

Then, Matt and Amber are on his show to refute the ugly "rumors", cough-cough.  I get it that the network likes the crossovers with their shows and "talent", but the whole thing w/Drew is feeling a bit too incestuous to me.  He's not helping these now-adults by being a party to their manipulations of the truth and by helping them script their storylines and often lies; he's enabling them and the unhealthy choices they're making and the mostly unproductive and meaningless lives they're leading.

I waver between thinking Drew is legit and that he thinks he's actually helping them by giving them advice w/o knowing the truth and knowing their motives vs that he's aware of what they and the network are using him for and it doesn't bother him.

Where do I even begin ...

Maci -- boring storyline, again.  But I do love Bentley and Jayde.  There is a real family dynamic going on over here with all of them, and I just adore watching the littles interact.  I agree with the posted up-thread who said Maci should just walk away from TMOG now.

Cate -- proving that a couch is not necessary to lie in a supine position on command.  And in my heart of hearts, I swear that NovaLEE! was saying nighty-night to the dogs because, well, they probably tuck her in every night.

Farrah -- every.single.time. girlfriend speaks, it reminds me of the Damon Wayans character Oswald Bates from "In Living Color" (I'm dating myself here ...), using big words to make us believe she is educated yet comes off as sounding like a complete moron.  I have a co-worker like that, and listening to him speak during meetings always cracks me the f*k up.  Anyway, that scene between Farrah and Kiana made me horribly uncomfortable, not because of the large words Farrah was using but because this is the trend I see happening between Farrah and ANY employee she hires to work for her.  Word of advice to Farrah:  use your power wisely.  Around employees, around Sofia, around the media.  While I don't disagree that she's got the work ethic that Cate and Amber lack, she is not fit for a leadership role by any stretch of the imagination.

Amber -- she disgusts me.  I really, really had hopes for her.  I really felt that she had potential if she could find a way to take her earnings and her self-respect and get out of this so-called relationship with Matt.  But the victim blaming?  That other women in Matt's past were "allowing" him to treat them badly?  Sweetheart, open your eyes and stop being so obtuse.  You are "allowing" Matt the very same thing.  He's in every TMOG scene with you, he's controlling your words and reactions, he is making decisions for you, he is in charge of your earnings and spending.  And you are "allowing" it, too.

Light forbid that Leah is ever a victim of Matt's (or anyone's!) creepy behavior.  I feel gross admitting that I can hear Amber's accusing remarks ... "but LEEEE-AAAH!  Why should I beLIEEEEEve youuuuu?  You're such a f'ing HAAATER!  This was his PAAAAAST.  He didn't do it to MEEE!  You uh-LLLOOOWED this to haaaapen!"

Either Amber is trying to save face or Matt's dick is epic.  I can't understand why she "allows" this.

I'd love to see Farrah hire another Farrah as Debra suggested.  The conversations between two Farrahs would be television gold.  The word salad, the constant interruptions and talking over the other person.  Unfortunately, there would be an immediate severancing of the relationship, because Farrah could not stand to be around someone so much like herself.

Taylor showing Bentley where to place the comma was the most education we've ever seen kids on these shows get from their parents. Despite the T-shirt nonsense, Taylor seems to be a good guy and I love that he's so involved. Even more educated parents I know who planned all their children end up in a dynamic where the woman gets stuck with all the work and that doesn't seem to be the case here. Maci chose well.

Farrah may have had a point that if her employee was the manager she should've known how to clean the machines and use the can opener. If she's getting paid more, she really should know her shit. But, of course, Farrah being insane can't make a job easier. Under a normal manager, she probably would've been a decent employee, I guess we just don't know.

Farrah's speech reminds me of the episode of friends where Joey is writing the adoption agency a letter for Chandler and Monica and he uses a thesaurus on every word (love, baby kangaroo)... I might feel a tad bit bad if I'm wrong, but I strongly feel she is just attempting to sound smart and does not have any speech related issues.

I know who planned all their children end up in a dynamic where the woman gets stuck with all the work and that doesn't seem to be the case here.

@swishandflick Just last season Maci was complaining how Taylor wasn't helping her and she was stuck doing everything. Not sure if she had a heart to heart talk with Taylor or if he read up on the internet how he came off like an ass and decided to change things up for the camera. Hopefully, he is a changed man off-camera, too.

one of my HS friends got like that (she was one of us who *didn't* go to college,  might have been an insecurity thing).  Every time she spoke, I'd be really mean in my head "nope....wrong.  that's not what that means..."

We're friends on FB;  her posts sound pretty down-to-earth so she may have outgrown that habit.  Hopefully.

So much WORD to this!  I'd pay-per-view to see this.

I bet any of her management instructors are also mortified! I wonder what management classes she took and what her grades were. My degree is in business management and I am constantly cringing when I watch how Farrah treats her employees and attempts to run a business.

Nova needed to go to bed because she is clearly over her parents crap and someone has to parent herself.

Amber deserves what she gets. Sorry but how can she still even want to be in the same room as that creep and why is she letting him just spend her money? Is she that lazy that she just wants someone to deal with all her shit for her that she gives him free reign? Just baffles me that someone can be like this and let a fucking bum continue to take and take and she's too zoned out to give a fuck or even parent. I'm beginning to think she only shows up for Leah when. the cameras are around like Ryan.

Uncle JUICE, you have me cracking up about the BBQ.

Farrah -- every.single.time. girlfriend speaks, it reminds me of the Damon Wayans character Oswald Bates from "In Living Color" (I'm dating myself here ...), using big words to make us believe she is educated yet comes off as sounding like a complete moron.

Farrah: "Maybe I should educationalize myself in regardation to my empire so that I can make the most goodable decisionism with my futuristic employees so as unto that severization is not necessible either pastly or futurely."

@RamonaSenomar LOVE LOVE LOVE "In Living Color"!! Over in Small Talk I mentioned how I met Kim Wayans. But I ain't one to gossip, so you ain't heard that from me.
