That is a terrible plan. The comments section digs into why and links to another comments section that also does so. That is not only the opposite of a good plan it's likely to set off a domino effect of bad shit. What is that guy thinking?

Exactly.  He sold his supporters on this "we're going to win!" thing, and there's nothing to "win."  At least, not the way he's using the term.  We're not at war, but he seems hellbent on turning the global environment into a competitive one that makes it easier for war to happen.

Anyone who talks as if the world economy is a win-lose situation clearly has issues.  Financial ones.  Ones that bank on the tax payer picking their trussed fat ass off the floor or having daddy bail them out.  The last two times our economy took a hit that had impact was when China wobbled.  Want to see where Fortune 500 is putting their money?  China.  Want to know where most of the the bright and shiny things that drive our service economy are at made in part from?  China.  the equity alone is staggering and this puling dumbass that will be in the Oval Office in less than two months time thinks it is some kind of Real Housewives brinksmanship over who comes out with more fans on social media.  His idiocy would be hilarious if it wasn't so appalling.

He brags about being smart and all he does is show us every hour since the election how much he really doesn't know.

And does so in ways that has to have Putin laughing his ass off.  He helped put the Scariest Sickest Muppet in office and that Muppet is walking around saying the today's letter is "5" and then smirks as if he just illustrated his driving brilliance. 

Everyone who has interviewed him that liked him said he had an attention span of a small child and the retention rate of, well, no adult human they had even spoken to that they could recall.  No wonder he does not want to take security briefings every day.  He thinks they will be the same thing and he already knows them.  Last time someone was this smart was when the Psychic Hotline went bankrupt.  Oh yeah. Bankrupt.  He drove a casino into the ground.  And he thinks he can play games with China and Putin?  China holds the Us economy by the balls and Putin kills people who make him angry.  Good luck Fat Orange Fuck.  The rest of us will need it.

Yeah keep dissing the CIA Trump - this is one agency - with a very high body count you don't want to disrespect.  Once they learned he was not doing the daily briefings - they were out to get him.  Trump should read "The Devil's Chessboard" by David Talbot - but it doesn't have pictures so....

I figured someone would take him out - I just figured it would be done covertly.   But it is an emergency so....  You know you are screwed when it's the CIA coming to the rescue.  I mean has that organization ever done anything that was ethical -sorry - that's way too high a standard - I will accept legal.

We may end up with a civil war between deep state and the 1 percenters.  Corporate America is thrilled with Trump's appointments. The CEO of Exxon as Secretary of State - never in their wildest dreams.  Deep state is supposed to install banana republics - not take them out.

Eager to see tomorrow's Newsweek revelations about Tubby's business dealings. I don't doubt for a minute that the new date for the announcement of what he is doing with them will come AFTER his inauguration.

Tomorrow he's announcing SOS. How long before he asks Nielsen for ratings of his decisions and for his victory tours (more coming, btw, this week. Because one egomaniacal "I won! Suck it, losers!" tour isn't enough for this ass.

Have we ever gotten word on how his victory tour is being paid for?  I mean, I know we're likely footing the bill, but it would be nice to have it spelled out  not only that we're paying for it, but how much we're paying for it.  

One of my Trump loving acquaintances was gushing about watching It's A Wonderful Life, how it's their favorite movie, and it always makes them feel good, etc.  I so badly wanted to say "I assume you're rooting for Mr. Potter?"

I haven't been a huge fan previously, but if Reid will keep the pressure on Tubby (and building) until the very last moment he can (is his term over on Jan 20 or earlier?), he will have my undying gratitude.

Catherine Rempel (Washington Post) has an imaginative idea for saving NYC (and U.S. taxpayers) on the costs of Tubby's & Co's lifestyle in Trump Tower now and as president (Psst! C'mon EC! Make this all just a bad dream!)

Anyway, her idea is to use the law of eminent domain and for NYC to seize it on behalf of the citizens.  After all, while others have criticized eminent domain as a land grab, Tubby is a big proponent of it!  Now is the perfect opportunity for Americans to see it in action, on the public's behalf!

Which is EXACTLY what Reid has been alluding to - now stating as fact. Even McConnell is paying attention to this now. Why is that? Oh, and BTW, Eichenwald of Newsweek now reports that Erdoghan (sp?) of Turkey, after a congratulatory conversation with tRump in which Cheeto was extolling the virtues of his good Turkish friend (i.e., co-investor in a real estate/hotel investment in Turkey) by the name of Dogan, was just arrested and incarcerated. This guy is semi-retired and older than tRump. The    overriding belief in the intelligence community now is that development happened for one reason only: leverage to force the extradition of the Pennsylvania resident, a Muslim cleric, that Erdoghan has demanded since that squirrelly "coup" that took place earlier this year.

^^ McConnell is playing to the cheap seats.  I don't believe for a second in his sincerity about....well, anything, really, other than obstructing any non-GOP measure.  He & asswipe Paul Ryan (and Nunes, head of House Intel Comm) are against any kind of select panel to investigate things.  It's gonna be what I said yesterday:  a dog & pony show.  Our government will be in the hands of Putin and anyone else to whom Trump owes money.

As a big fan of Finnish music, one reason this election has scared me so much is that Trump seems perfectly okay with Russia doing whatever the hell it wants to, probably up to and including invading other countries. I want Putin to stay the hell away from Finland. He needs to stay the hell out of other countries too, but I selfishly put Finland at the top of my list of countries that need to stay intact. I will admit I enjoy the scenario of Putin being captured by Finland and forced to listen to nonstop death metal at high volume.

Or anyone who has a business or government leverage over HIM personally. The man is seriously compromised. At some point, does anyone think that a lot of folks who thought they were wagging the dog now realize they're now the 'wagees'?

Don't remember the death toll of Russians when they marched into Finland during WWII, but it was staggering. The Fins are resolute in their defense of their country's sovereignty. We should be that resolute.

Why is anybody surprised by this? Does anybody really think that Trump will put American interests before his business interests?

The only thing that's surprised me a little - although it probably shouldn't - is that according to the Rachel Maddox link, Trump practically painted a target on his business colleague's back by mentioning him to the Turkish president. Anybody working for Trump abroad might want to update their insurance policies!

I turned on the television this morning and heard an audio clip from Kellyanne Conway and what I heard her say was;  "He's the President of the United States the legislature can do what it wants".

I think that Putin, Trump and OPEC plan to carve up the world. one big chunk for each of them to manage and dictate to. It can't be clearer that it's looking like a division of super-powers in collaboration with each other. We're being set up. The EU has already been dismantled. Angela Merkel is the only super-power that trying to prevent Russia taking Ukraine by imposing sanctions on Russia. She's all that stands in the way of Russia taking everything in Europe. Now that the U.S. has sold out, Angela Merkel is just about the only one left to defend Europe.

As angry as I am with corporate media, particularly the cable "news" channels, I find that I can't quite quit Rachel, Joy, LOD and Chris Hayes.  I still watch in small doses, but it's stories like this that make me continue my viewership.

Every week, I say that I'm appalled about something this tangerine turd has done.  However, I also realize that there simply is no bottom to what he and his family will do.  Every time the bar is lowered, they manage to slither under it like the slugs and bottom feeders (with money) they truly are.  And, no I don't trust any of them to put this country's security and interests above lining their own pockets.  This story also puts to rest the ridiculous narrative that Ivanka the Terrible will be some kind of steadying influence on her father.  She, her husband and brothers are all cut from the same piece of cloth.  Hers is just presented with a supposedly prettier bow.

I can't wait to read Eichenwald's article, which only validates every concern I had and why folks need to stop trying to normalize him by playing the "go along just to get along" game.

McConnell is being pretty transparent here.  He makes a big grand statement condemning foreign influence in our election, and then he slides in "but no need to create a new committee to investigate this, I've got it covered."  He wants his fingers all over this investigation so he can both monitor and direct it.  He doesn't like the idea of a new special bipartisan committee being created to investigate it, because he may not be able to secure any oversight on that new committee.  The rest of the Senate should demand that he stay hands (and eyes) off the investigation because of his wife's appointment.

I actually think that Putin and OPEC have no intention of letting Trump maintain any portion of the world.  They'll use him to weaken our ties to our allies, allowing them to do what they want, then they'll turn their attention here.  Putin will never be satisfied as long as there is someone out there who has some power that he could get his hands on.  

Can I simultaneously feel bad about the people who have been arrested in Turkey for no legit reason while still finding it hilarious that one of Trump's victory calls to push for his business interests has already spectacularly backfired on him?

I'm not surprised THAT he's putting business interests first, that was obvious from the start.   But the extent he will go to, in order to protect his businesses, astounds me. I was worried that he was too stupid to be president.   Now I'm frightened that he is too EVIL to be president.

Condoleeza Rice is the last person I want any president taking National Security advice from. Her tenure as NSA was a disaster plus Exxon is one of her clients. I do respect her work at Stanford though I just don't want her near any security decisions.

I think everyone knows that voter id laws have nothing to do with recounts. Recounting is making sure the votes that were cast are counted correctly. Voter ID laws are about making it harder for certain groups to vote and were being pushed long before Jill Stein. Voter disenfranchisement is not a just punishment for people getting uppity and demanding their civil rights. Jill Stein isn't the one claiming that illegal immigrants are allowed to vote. I think maybe Trump may have been pushing that one hard since losing the popular vote.
