Civil War  - Team Scorpion must put aside their personal and romantic predicaments when anonymous hackers with unknown motives take control of U.S. military aircraft and warships and point weapons at American cities.

More Civil War  - Just as Team Scorpion makes headway against the hackers controlling U.S. naval destroyers, they learn that a U.S. nuclear submarine also has been hacked and has a missile about to launch, on a special two-hour third season premiere of Scorpion.

I've never cared for the character of Walter (or the actor's portrayal of him), but tonight I actively despised him.

And even after his apology & the scolding Cabe gave him, he STILL almost pulled a middle-school "prank".

II always thought Paige was my least favorite character, but now I'm rooting for Tim.

So I'm wondering if Happy had an arranged marriage that was set up by her family?  At least it's not Mark.

I don't blame Toby for being angry w/her secretiveness, but I hope he doesn't fall off the gambling wagon.

What the heck did I just watch??

Toby and his fixation with Happy's marriage was just painful.

Walter and his fixation. On Paige just felt so so wrong.

I wanted to see more of June the fighter pilot, did she land safe? How is she doing??

Nice seeing Spencer Graham. Figured she wouldn't be the one shot down so early since I recognized her.

So Walter knows who Happy is married to? And can't he just stop acting like a child and talk to Paige.

Hey, let's okay launching a nuke at Wyoming, and hope that the team that just screwed up trying to stop that hack will be able to redirect the nuke. The Captain of the sub was absolutely right. Walter couldn't have stopped that missile by himself and he actually needed Cabe and Tim to stop the hackers as they were even better than the man who prides himself as having the fourth highest IQ on record. Of course, they save the day at the last second. They always do.

I get that Toby is ticked. Wait until he finds out that Walter deleted the info on who Happy's husband is.

On that note, Walter, that is behavior exhibited by stalkers. Deliberately sabotaging their date while driving up there to then profess his love for Paige. Actually, come to think about it...that also sounds like half the plots of your average romantic comedy movie. Except that in this case, it was an epic fail as it would be in real life.

I did like the scene with the Bulgarian woman and her ficus. It was nice to see the old vet finally having his moment.

I'm presuming she's okay. Shame about her wingman, but it's not on her. There was absolutely nothing she could have done.

Good to know that if hackers take over our nukes and all our military hardware, the elite team charged with saving us and the rest of the free world are able to put aside their junior high love lives and put all their brain power to, you know, saving the world as we know it!

Walter was horrible. Ralph is more mature. Liked him and Sylvester in their matching PJ's observing all the drama around them and aware of the issues.  Paige is a fool to not to stick with Tim.

Enjoyed Cabe being tough love daddy to Walter at the end.

I think Toby has his reason and right to be angry at Happy and if her still not telling him the truth. I guess it's top secret since Walter is hiding info too.

I cannot stand Paige anymore.   She is the least favorite character.    Also, Paige needs to get off her high horse and get rid of holier than thou attitude. And also this is terrible writing, terrible script.  I have had enough of the Walter-Paige drama.  Either just kill her off or boot her ass off the show.  Tim, I am sick of his attitude and how he is trying to establish himself as the alpha male in the group.  He needs to go. I do not like him.  He is not just bringing anything to the table.  He is the one that needs to earn the trust of the group and Walter's trust, not the other way around.  Paige is just being a stupid b!tch.

This show is getting worse by the minute.  The envisioned scenario is so over the top and way off the mark that it is not funny but an embarrassment.  Don't get me started on the physics and the impossibility of traveling to Bulgaria from LA in two hours and how a plane can take off with less than 10 min of prep time and more or less disembark from that plane has been flying at mach 10 (it has to be mach 10 because they had to get to bulgaria in less than 2 hours)  Think of all that heat that needed to be dissipated.  I think the writers of this show have become lazy or were replaced with bad screenwriters who couldn't hold a candle if their lives depend on it.

Paige saying it's not her fault that she wasn't wearing serious shoes really annoyed me. You know you're likely to have to do something dangerous. Wear work shoes, not dollface clothing. The fate of the world depends on your shenanigans.

Making all the men whiny babies who think women are property to fight over was not helpful.

Toby and The Kid were the only likable people in the ensemble.

I didn't even find this one funny in a campy way, which is how I usually excuse myself for watching.

That's my guess.  Walter is an Irish national.  I don't know if they addressed his citizenship in the past, but I can see a situation where he was going to be deported and Happy married him.

That was both overwhelming and underwhelming - and for the same reason - too much plot going on.  Overwhelming because it was one thing after another, multiple story lines, multiple problems solved in multiple ways any one of which could have filled an episode.  But those same things are what was underwhelming - they had the multiple stories, plots, rescues because it was two hours and it felt like they just shoved in yet another issue for the team to solve until they had enough of them to fill up those two hours.  It just didn't need to be that big.

For the good - everything Sylvester did and said; he was pretty much the comic relief but his parts were so much fun to watch.  Max Gail who is always great.  And.............that's about it.  I still like this show a lot but I can't find much that's "good" to say about this premier.

Oohh, so that's who the H!ITG was: Max Gail from Barney Miller!

I liked Sly saying, "Oh poop," because my daughter hates it when I say that.

That was a horrible episode and so impossible.

Ejector seats are controlled manually - not by a computer.

Same with nukes - they are not connected to the internet. The sub might be, but they would have to do social engineering and even then they wouldn't be able to control it live, they would have to preprogram stuff in.

Sure, i'll accept they were able to hack the planes, but even then... why disable the ejector seats? Imagine if the pilots had ejected and the planes were still flying? That'd be one hell of a demonstration for hackers.

The episode was way too long, it did not need 2 hours - maybe an hour and a half, then they would've had an extra 20 minutes to play with. They could've done with a normal length episode, though.

So.. uhh... was that plane like as fast as Superman? It flying so fast that it went back in time is the only way I can imagine that they got from LA to Bulgaria in 2 hours. Also, why didn't they have any support in Bulgaria? They would've at least had support from the CIA.

This episode was just... mind numbing. It wasn't even fun to hate watch. At least Timeless was enjoyable.

Ooh, I didn't even think of that!  Would explain why Collins would know, too.

But why all the secrecy?  All she had to do was say Toby, I married Walter so he could stay in the US".  Toby would've understood the reason behind letting her work out the details.

Because of "reasons". Like everything else on this show, it needs to be dragged out. No couple is allowed to be happy.

That's at least possible, unlike some of the weaker parts of this episode.  (Nuclear weapons have a LOT of safeguards, to keep things like what this show points out from ever being tried.)

Walter is one of the few people Happy would be willing to keep a secret from Toby for, so that fits too, though Happy is also the kind of person that if she gives her word about secrecy, she would keep it anyway--but Walter would make that even harder.

I really liked the idea that Happy is married to Walter for immigration reasons, and I was thinking the same thing while watching the show. But I'd think Cabe would know about it if that was the case. And also, they could tell Toby about that, and it would shut him up and make him go into problem-solving mode, not abusive jealous meltdown, right? Except for that this show doesn't really rely on making sense.... Whatever the story is, it feels to me like the secretiveness is contrived. Cabe has to know their backgrounds, surely he's vetted them all quite thoroughly. And what kind of nonsense could it really be, that would require secrecy within the team? So now I think it's going to be something as stupid as the other stupid stuff this show pulls, not some clever twist but just a cardboard obstacle/misdirect.

Paige was on a date when they got the call about this. Although given how often they get called in in emergencies you would think she might stash a spare pair of boots at the warehouse or her car.

Is was.  While it's understandable Toby was blindsided, he needs to act like a grown up and stop all the snide "jokes".  And they need to move this plot point forward and resolve it.  They kept doing the Toby snarking and Happy promising to take care of it, rinse and repeat over and over and over...

Toby was an annoying douche.  My neutered dog has more balls than that whiny baby. Why Happy even wants him is a mystery to me.  He wants to marry a woman he doesn't trust to take care of it? Not that expect this show to be logical or even make sense but this is an easy fix. No TV Scientifical Handwavium required just basic character writing. Fail.

Do people realize that Walter has social problems  and that he actually has worked on himself over the seasons. Everything is not his fault  and Paige has a hand in the situation as well because she knows how Walter feels about her and she feels the same but has done nothing about it. I know What Walters problem is but what is her excuse. Plus Tim was being a douche.

Walter and Paige decided together last season not to act on whatever feelings they had for each other, then Walter tried dating and Paige became interested in Tim.  So Walter regressed a hell of a lot this episode - the date sabotage stuff was at least teenager crap and at worst, stalking.   It was also actually unnecessary - if the show is going to insist on will they/won't they, they could have gone the simpler route of having Walter run there, see the kiss and decide not to tell Paige he's in love with her, then have to go back with them on the plane, etc.   No calling the hotel and all the other crap he did.

Toby needed to shut up too - his snide remarks got old, really fast.  He's known Happy a long time and she just told him that she loves him and asked him to trust her.  Sure maybe it's difficult for him and I get he feels betrayed but some maturity from him was desperately needed.  I was also thinking like most of you that Happy must be married to Walter - really, it should be simple explanation to Toby but he's so insecure and was so whiny this episode I can see why Happy doesn't tell him.

I don't mind Tim but he doesn't really fit here - we have Cabe for action and government.  I liked anything Cabe, anything Sylvester and I like when Paige and Happy work together.   Cabe's talk with petulant Walter was much needed and if the show is smart, it will have Walter take his advice and tone that crap down.  Ugh!!!

I watch this show because it's ridiculous fun and I generally like all of the characters, so all the rom-com BS really dragged this down and sucked a lot of the fun out of the episode.

Why would Walter need a fake marriage to stay in the country though?  If he wanted it, wouldn't he be granted citizenship due to extraordinary ability?  I would think government officials would have been falling all over themselves trying to get -the smartest person in the world!- to stay.   I don't remember the backstory, but he did work for the US government early on, didn't he?  Or was that just when he was a kid?

He stopped working for the government when he learned that they used an algorithm he developed to drop bombs during the Irag war, so I don't think they would have had any reason to help him with citizenship.

I tend to try to cut Walter some slack because of his social problems. Does he need to be put in is place sometimes? Yes but Paige is clearly the more well adjusted of the two and everybody always wants to scold Walter but when am I gonna see Paige get a verbal smack down for her part.

I thought she grew up in foster care? So, doubtful any kind of family thing.

I thought they fairly heavily telegraphed that it's Walter, although if it's for immigration reasons, that's preposterous, which is right up this show's alley so it probably is that. Which will piss me off not only because he very likely would've already had his immigration status handled when he was first brought over to be all super-genius-child-missile-software-dude, but also because when Happy whispered she asked if he deleted "my marriage records" and if it's theirs it doesn't make sense to say "my" to him other than to keep the plot ambiguous. Which again, seems right up the alley of the writing we get from this shit.

My biggest pet peeve with the show is that Walter does not have an Irish accent.  What is even more a head scratcher is Elyes Gabel does not speak normally with an American accent.  Considering he's British, you'd think he could pull off an Irish accent.

Walter's sister didn't have an Irish accent either.  Another pet peeve.

Hey guys, big Scorpion fan in here :)

I have a question to all of you.

I am from Bulgaria and recently it is mentioned a lot on many series. The most recent mentions were in Scorpion (obviously) and Blindspot.

So my question is - What's up with all these Bulgarian references? Is there something we are famous with within the movie circles I don't know about?

Does real Walter still have an accent? Given his age when he came to US in the show (don't know if timeline matches his real life), I have zero qualms about the character's lack of Irish accent.

He does have a very specific voice and pronunciation, but I don't hear any accent in this video:
