Everytime one of them goes out into the community they become a potential patient zero for their family. Unlike Jilly Muffin, he didn't grow up isolated in a cult family compound. He's kind of dorky but was social enough to apparently enjoy his years at university, and to carry on a family tradition by doing the Pistol Pete mascot gig. I don't think he's as devoid of empathy as some most of his in-laws (looking at you, Jessa, Jed!2020, Josh, Anna, JB . . . ). He may have gone to Nepal to do some missionary work but he seems to have learned things and made friends while there. I think his law school years have been a genuine educational experience - in contrast to his poseur BIL out in LA who seems to have learned zilch about life or theology while he preens for the camera and steers his meek wife from one "influencer" PR f*ckup to another. Most of us are works in progress, including Derick. I think he'll always be a typical Arkansas Southern Baptist, very conservative socially and politically, but I also think some of his views may be tempered by experience as life goes on. I think he's been decompressing - if not deprogramming - from his years in fundieland as a Duggar in-law. I'm not going to scoff at his expressions of empathy. All of my clinicals are online too, so no more time with real patients. I will get my degree but it has been three years and this is all kind of annoying right at the end. Minivanessa March 19, 2020 Share March 19, 2020 The Chancellor of Derick's law school issued a directive on March 12 which among other things stated: Quote we are suspending in-person classes effective immediately and will move to an all-online or other alternative method of course delivery starting Monday, March 16th and continuing through the remainder of the semester. To be clear, this is not a closure. Yesterday (March 18) there was another directive which among other things stated that all on-site campus activities are cancelled until further notice. Looks like Derick's doing classes online.
