Jessa, Ben and Their Brood: Making a (Diaper) Mountain out of a Mold House

Message added by Scarlett45

The Duggars post about politics on social media frequently, but these social media posts are not an invitation to discuss politics here in this forum. This rule extends to Duggar adjacent families, friends, associates etc. Such discussions are a violation of the Politics Policy.

I understand with recent current events there may be a desire to discuss certain social media postings of those in the Duggar realm as they relate to politics- this is not the place for those discussions. If you believe someone has violated forum rules, report them, do not respond or engage.

This may have been covered already, but one of the IG comments by "duggarsisters" says 19 kids will be back...is that an official D account or an imposter? I didn't think an official announcement had been made yet re: the show, only conjecture.

I know he must have realized that his toilet cleaning days are here for the foreseeable future.

And how huge a simian dominance display is that. Not only does Jim Bob outrank these guys in their households and with their wives, he's got them doing women's work.

Yes, I addressed this a few days ago. That is a fan account, and her proclamation is wishful thinking. There hasn't been any official announcement either way.

I see bump pics on FB all the time, but not seductive ones, and not daily. I'm due any day now with my third, and I have a collection of bump pics from each pregnancy, but maybe 2% made it to social media. Mostly they're for the kids' baby books.

I will say that I showed super early with all my kids -- people were asking me at 10 weeks even with my first -- so I do feel for the Duggars in the sense that people are claiming they were exaggerating their bumps or lying about their due dates. Some of us just carry like that... but I certainly never felt the need to document it with sexy come-hither photos!

Congrats to you, Skittl1321! Hope you're feeling good!

Thanks. That sounds like what I'm used to seeing. Best wishes on baby #3!

Good catch. I'll bet you're right.

She was nude, but no deliberate seductive pose, IIRC. Jessa trying to appear sexual is very disturbing, IMO. And certainly in no way "modest."

I think Jessa is just a product of a generation that shares EVER-Y-THING. I have Millenial cousins, nieces and nephews. My Facebook feed is filled with pictures of food, new shoes, recent manicures, cracks on the sidewalk, memes, makeup hauls, kissy faces and mirror poses. Jessa just happens to be pregnant and have nothing else going on in her life, so she floods her social media with updates.

But theoretically, Jessa had no exposure to the Internet or social media until very recently. Yeah, right.

It occurs to me that pregnancy is the only time these women are allowed to draw attention to their bodies. They can't do sports or dance or show off any other physical abilities. They are only supposed to draw attention to their faces. So maybe Jessa is enjoying having an excuse to show off her body a little.

I remember an episode where they went to a fencing school so the kids could take a lesson, and Michelle said that the girls weren't going to try it. The fencing instructor looked confused, and Michelle said, in her very best my, aren't you stupid voice, like it was some sort of freaking tautology, because they're girls.

I genuinely can't imagine that generations of miserable old men writing fictional Penthouse letters for three cents a word have ever come up with a character who's more anxious to be seen as the mobile delivery system for a vagina than Michelle Duggar, and she's raising women.

Apparently, she posted in the comments that she feels like a "beached whale." I guess she's trying to convince herself that she's as pretty as she was pre-pregnancy and reminding herself that the baby is all for Jesus.

Talk about fishing for compliments. She is the antithesis of humility.

I like this explanation better. Especially since she was serving full-on duckface.

I just googled pregnant bump. Jessa is not alone with the repeated pics nor the arched back. It appears she wasted no time getting up to speed on all things internet. She probably believes she is being modest because many of the pics I saw had bare bumps.

She's what- 20 some weeks along? She doesn't even KNOW beached whale yet. When she is in the 3rd trimester and the simple act of rolling over in bed becomes a 7 part maneuver, then she can claim beached whale.

(Says the pregnant lady who is more than ready to be done at 39 weeks and is more irritable by the day)

You literally took the words out of my mouth. I was going to say that the beached whale remark was Jessa's passive-aggressive way of seeking compliments from her minions. Her ego is the size of Texas. Even if she really was huge she would still be convinced she's the hottest thing EVAH!!!

Sure, but unless you've always been thin, who hasn't used that expression? Hell, I'm bloated right now and feel  at least like a baby humpback. :D

The baby due on the 4th of July was actually born Monday afternoon.  They are in a way disappointed they missed the 4th of July, but she was happy to get it over with.  I went next door and saw him today---a really pretty little baby boy.  I don't say that if I don't mean it.  Be well JenniferBug, it will be worth it.  The new baby's dad is tired, lack of sleep, but he is so happy. I have a feeling Jessa and Ben will have a better looking kid than Iz.

Knees!!!! Defrauding!!!! NIKE!!!!!

If Jessa wasted tied to her Fundie ways, I could see her shooting a porn or making molds of her vagina like Farrah from Teen Mom. Jessa is skirting the lines of what is expectable in her culture.

The trouble is figuring out what subculture Jessa is actually claiming to be a part of. Yes, she's skirting close to the edge of Gothardism. But Fundy and Quiverful culture is oddly stretchy. She hasn't come close to pushing the boundaries of a deeply Reformed Calvinist, Quiverful family, young woman yet.

Has anyone thought that Jessa might have had a change of heart regarding clothing keeping things covered?

Almost like some of these pictures are a slight F- you to mommy and daddy....

I dunno if Jessa is the fundy equivalent of an porn star and busted bunghole mold saleswoman Farrah. Even Michelle allowed TLC to show that knee exposing photo of her in the cheerleader uniform. And in that waterskiing episode, her knees were not black boxed when she rode the jet ski.

I wondered that myself with the Tire/Knees pic. Michelle had her knees blurred during filming of her water skiing.

Also, several years ago on a Michelle TH, she did say that her older daughters imposed stricter modesty standards than required by M/JB.

Yeah, sure. Bet the girls came up with the obsessively hypervigilant "Nike" signals on their own without any sort of conditioning for their parents.

Gasp! A sleeveless tee and shorts! Jessa you shameless hussy!

I think Ben may have ditched his ring so it wouldn't slip off. My friend's mom lost her expensive diamond wedding band while she was snorkeling in the Bahamas.

I'm sure you've talked about this before, but why can't she take photos on the actual day? If she knows the date of conception, why all the "22 weeks, 3 days?" If you're going to obsessively document your pregnancy for God and everyone, why not do it right? It's not like she's got a special set up for the photos, as evidenced by the random closet, hallway, bathroom, etc I've seen so far. I don't know why this rankles me so, but I'm just bugged about it.

NEVER take your good stuff on vacation! I thought everyone knew to keep the real ice at home! LOL

My husband, who is Christian, but would never dream of writing the screeds produced by Ben, has been married almost 21 years and only took his ring off when we had to give him more size. We combined my original ring - too small for me - to make him a larger size and shape. Hasn't taken the refurb off either, and he's an industrial chef. I've lost weight, and my rings flip around. I still don't take them off for even my most rigorous activities. They're still here! Imagine that!

No excuses for an 8 month newlywed! NONE! Sorry.

Seriously? We're all different. I love my husband dearly, been married nearly 23 years, and I take my rings off every night, when I clean, when I'm working in the yard ... It doesn't mean I love him any less, and I've been this way since the start of our marriage.

We lived in Central America for a few years and I only wore my band. I left my diamond in the US.

My Fundy grandmother sold her ring when Gold went sky high in the 1970's. She said God knew she was married and she liked the money. Her unbelieving sinner (until his deathbed) husband wouldn't take his off for anything, and he was a farmer.

I was ragging BEN. ITA that WOMEN have different rules w/r/t rings. Mine come off when I moisturize, clean (last night), etc. My real one is too small for me now (I was a size 5.5 back in the day...not even sure if my pinky is that now). The ring is an antique and sized many times. I had to put it out to pasture. :( So I wear fakes. Men these days are going more toward stainless, so I don't see the big deal about keeping it on. Ben's ring is oxidized *some metal* likely not gold. He could have kept it on.

He probably didn't want to lose it in the water or something. I honestly don't see a problem with him not wearing the ring, unless a the man taking it off somehow invalidates the marriage.

It's most likely stainless and cost a hundred bucks, max. I don't see the big deal about keeping it on to go down a kiddie water slide. M(obviously not so)HO.

From the time we got married, my husband didn't wear his ring to work.  He has the type of job where it would be dangerous to do so.  I never got upset about it, as I would rather he come home with all his fingers.

Not that Ben has a job where a ring would make a difference.  I keep mine on to clean toilets.

BTW, I think Jessa looks great, and so does Alyssa Bates in her jeans.  Pants that aren't skin tight are a lot more modest than skirts.  And more practical.

Bingo! Especially to swim. She looks good, and like they are having fun. Glad they could enjoy their holiday.
