Kemper September 16 Share September 16 I should probably post this in the "Favorite Commercials" thread; but since we have bashed Liberty Mutual at times there is a new one. The crazy-looking guy sporting a pastel tux and pompadour who had a wax figure made of himself. Identical. And then it started melting when the sun came out. His reaction...the falling in horror and then shrieking. Even though I have seen it quite a bit - I still can't help laughing. Just me? 1 6 Link to comment
DrSpaceman73 September 16 Share September 16 4 imprint for certain This is so dumb. It's a company that's makes promotional stuff with your logo on it. They're making their whole campaign around the fact you'll definitely get the logo and words you want on your items. 4 certain! Ok....Great. that's like the bare minimum I'd expect from such a company. And if you screw it up I'd think you redo it. That's all they have to promote their company? We'll get the words and logo right....anything beyond that I guess it's a crapshoot. 6 1 5 Link to comment

tres bien September 16 Share September 16 I posted a while back that I don't get Imprint's motto. Did an ad agency put this in front of focus group? It's stupid that no matter how many (too many) times I see the commercials everyday I still don't get it 6 Link to comment
dleighg September 16 Share September 16 I've never been in a situation of needing to order custom printed swag. All I can think is that if I was "starting from scratch," I'd figure this was a well-known company, with presumably a wide-selection of swag, so I'd check them out first. 5 Link to comment

Gharlane September 18 Share September 18 I saw a commercial for what I think was a food delivery service but am not sure. What I do remember, however, is fixating on the asshole in a wading pool precariously balancing hamburgers and hotdogs on a floating plate. At the end of the tour the audience was routed down a staircase to a basement-like room. Wax John Brown was lying on a table with friends (wax) around him. All of a sudden he rose up, raised his arm and pointed his finger, eyes bulging, and proclaimed something through the speakers. While my brother and I laughed hysterically, my cousin shrieked and ran out; to this day she is terrified of wax figures and statues. She is 78. 4 5 1 5 Link to comment

Who in the world thought that was appropriate to show to young children? I wonder how many other people that saw that as a child are still traumatized to this day? That should have been adult viewing only, or adult/late teen. 3 Link to comment

Deskisamess September 22 Share September 22 There is a commercial for Fanduel that runs during Cleveland Guardian's games. The young woman in the commercial looks very young, skimpy top, she is sort of hunched in her posture, and she has one of those husky needs to clear her throat voices. It's bad enough that gambling is now a part of all major and college sports, but this commercial sends both hubby and I for the mute button. Link to comment
dleighg September 22 Share September 22 I keep seeing this ad for Del Webb (sp?) "retirement villages" where a husband and wife are touring, and loving everything they see. (Personally, as an introvert, it would give me hives to live somewhere like that, where everyone expects you to want to socialize all the time). Anywhere at the end there are a bunch of people socializing around a fire pit or whatever, and the couple is asked "Would you like to join us?" The wife, with a little frown, says "no." Her husband looks at her like, are you crazy? And of course she says "we would LOVE to join you." I HATE that trope (same as they do on cooking shows: I don't like this...... I LOVE it" 7 1 3 Link to comment
