Please feel free to change the title!

Looks like she's earning her apple now.  WAY too many cops at her apartment.  Also, very sad, those poor kids!

Actually she was really beginning to grow on me.  After she admitted her eating disorder and was so honest about that, I began to think, just maybe this woman does have what it takes to be on this show.

Normally someone who is incredibly spoiled would bug the hell outta me but she doesn't. I think it's because she has a vulnerability and innocence to her, and generally seems nice. Although, we haven't seen enough of her yet to judge the layers to her. I also really liked her gag gifts she picked out for Bethenny and Ramona. It's a small detail but they were thoughtful and cool gifts that reflect well on her.

Yeah, there just seems to be something about her I do like.  Lots that I don't as well, but for me, it began when she stumbled around and confessed her eating disorder.  I thought that was very brave, and very sad.  It made me root for her in a way I never could if she was pretending to be healthy about food.

I do think she's trying.

I worry what this divorce is going to do to her, I hope she has good friends to help her with this, and obviously not the friend who is banging her husband.

Fox News picked up the story.  Looks like Ramona is involved with this story via her go-to, Page Six.  http://pagesix.com/2016/06/15/real-housewife-divorcing-after-catching-husband-cheating/

Singer added that she met Jules four years ago, and, “I always liked her and I always liked her spirit. She’s a great joy of life, great energy. And unfortunately, stuff happens in life but I know she’ll be stronger for it and she’s going to be just fine.”

Meantime, spies at a recent wedding at Apella said Jules, “came solo, danced the night away and looked stunning and very available.” The swanky nuptials were for the daughter of Old Homestead Steakhouse owner Marc Sherry, we hear.

oh Ramona...

E Online says he's filed for divorce.  Another quote from Ramona in this one.  My she's a busy little girl.

The reality star's soon-to-be ex-husband, Michael, has filed for divorce, E! News has learned.

"They were having issues before the show but I think pressure from filming clearly put a strain the marriage," an insider tells us before adding, "It brought things to a head."

Meanwhile, a source tells us that despite the rocky times ahead for the newest member of the Bravo hit franchise, "Jules is being strong, she'll be okay."

Life and Style joins the party, says he filed today.  http://www.lifeandstylemag.com/posts/rhony-jules-wainstein-husband-divorce-105219

The newest cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City Julianne Wainstein’s husband, Michael, filed for divorce on May 16, Life & Style magazine has exclusively learned.

A source says that Jules' venture capitalist husband of eight years strayed. “She busted her husband cheating. She caught him sneaking around with another woman,” the insider shares.

Nothing new in this one, but does say Julianne said no comment.

Lot's more mostly of reporters quoting reporters.  Welcome to reality TV Jules, I hope they are paying you well.  Ramona is all over these with quotes.

Well, she made People.

Question:

How long will it take the press to discover the identity of the other woman, a close friend of Jules'?

Answer: 1 minute after Ramona gets the name out of Jules.

OK, one more.

I gotta give it to the producers. They pretty much threw us for a curveball with Jules. At first I thought she was just an awkward-but-inoffensive housewife (actual housewife) and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why they thought she'd make for good reality TV.

But between her surprisingly insightful reveal of her ED and now all the ensuing marriage drama, clearly they knew what they were doing in casting her on this show. There's been several layers to her story that have been interesting to watch unfold.

Umbelina, I think that's a perfect description of her: There's a lot I don't like about her, yet there's something I do. I think there's an endearing candor and earnestness despite all her verbal gaffes and seeming spoiledness that I find refreshing. I don't find her as entitled as some of the past (and current) HWs of the same ilk (the trophy wife married to a slimy wealthy man).

Her blog's up, after what must have been one hell of a day!

Quote

It was so difficult to watch the beginning of the end unfold in this week's episode, but I've come a long way since my life began to unravel this past winter, and my kids and I will be just fine -- better than fine. Truth is that it's too easy to get caught up in your own reality, especially when you are blindsided and betrayed by someone who is supposed to be a partner and friend. I'm trusting and open, but I'm also strong and practical. This isn't the end of the world, it's just a big bump in the road, but I'll get over it and I'll be stronger for it. I've got my kids, my family, my friends, my business, Modern Alkeme, and while my heart might be broken, it's still good as gold. There are bigger issues in the world that need tackling, and there are bigger realities that need to be addressed. My reality is that my kids and I are healthy and happy. We're lucky and blessed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by the tragedies in Orlando and the rest of the country and world.

I agree that she seems nice.  And even somewhat vulnerable - which in Bethenny's ball busting world might seem like a character fault, but I like it in Jules.

However, I don't see the innocence.  She married a greasy guy who was a player in the porn industry.  She wears a necklace that the charm on it is a replica of a splotch of semen rendered in sterling silver*. She's got a bit of a kink. Which is all good but a metal 'pearl necklace' is not what I envision someone possessing 'innocence' would wear.  She says he's threatening her and making her feel unsafe.  I'm not blaming her for marrying this guy and feeling threatened. But she can't have been with him all these years without guessing that he was, at least, a little shady.  Also, the way she snarled that he could "Go fuck himself" didn't sound so innocent to me. It came rolling, vehemently, off her tongue like she's thought it/said it a thousand times.  Not that he didn't deserve to be told to go fuck himself.

*Thanks HumblePi for finding the jeweler's link. Looks like ejaculate to me...

Looks like Michael is firing back.  This divorce may make Bethenny's look amicable.  Tamara says he's still living in the house, which is a rental.

Initially, I was a little put off by Jules, but the last few episodes her vulnerable "real" side has come through, and I kind of just want to hug her and make her feel safe. I hope she breaks through the darkness now that Michael is out of her life marriage wise, and she's free to be who she is and meet someone who will love her unconditionally.

When she was defending her awful behavior at the Hamptons brunch in her blog, Bethenny did intimate that we would come to find out that she was right to question the authenticity of the Wainsteins - I believe she made a comment that the flashback to Simon and Alex was an apt comparison.

I'm not entirely sure Jules would be aware if she were in McCord-VanKempen-type straits.  I don't think she's dishonest or pretentious; Jules seems sheltered and delicate to me.  I'm kind of worried about her too.  It's very hard to understand how her husband can come out of this accusing her of being a 'drama queen.'  I feel damned sorry for her.  I hope she lands on her feet, learns that she is strong and capable, and finds a cool man who loves her for her.  She is to some very pretty and young, pretty nice, and has perhaps had all the children she wants to have.  She certainly can build a good life for herself.

Wow, in the link posted above by Neurochick, Jules looks so thin. Even more so than on this season. I'm not trying to body shame anyone. I'm underweight, and have been asked by strangers if I "have a problem" and am told I'm "disappearing" and Jules probably weighs the same as I do, but with an added six inches or more of height. Really feel bad for her, because she does look very stressed. I really hope she's okay. I can see Michael's "drama queen" comment pointing more to his lack of sensitivity over her mental health. (And by that I mean daily mental health stuff like being overly stressed or anxious- not saying she has a personality disorder or mental illness.) "No grasp on reality." That was way harsh, Tai. Sounds like the thing a gas-lighter would say.

The pictures are disturbing, and I agree - it's not body shaming.  I'm a nurse and I commented on this in a prior episode thread.  She's thinner than I've ever seen in a living human being (outside of third world famines).  On the one hand I'm reassured that she's acknowledged an ED is never cured, you're just in recovery.  But I also think she's been demonstrating disordered eating this entire season.  Hopefully she has a good support system.

Maybe marriage to someone who doesn't cook or can't even make a cup of coffee or look after your kids gets difficult, not an excuse for cheating but I was amazed that she couldn't complete the basic household tasks

ETA not a fan of his either

Sometimes people don't know how to do things.  We're not born knowing how to do basic household tasks, I learned that from my mother.  Maybe Jules never learned how to cook or make coffee, BTW, I can't make coffee either because I don't drink coffee.

I'm feeling less like Jules was Grammered as in Kelsey, which is also what Kordell did to Porsha, and more that Jules has been Beadored. When you Grammer your wife, you hope the show keeps her so busy that she won't notice that you are moving on and divorcing her. When you Beador your wife, you hope that the show keeps your wife so busy that she won't notice that you are cheating with someone in her social circle. Both Shannon and Jules are pretty high strung, but Shannon was lucky enough to not be married to a guy who was a dickbag modelizer private equity douche before marriage.

It's funny that folks are critical about Jules' inability to cook, when we've barely seen any of the wives cook. In fact they cook so infrequently, that cooking ends up being a plot point on the rare occasion it happens. LVP once gave Adrienne a cooking lesson. Kristen couldn't cook. Carole can't cook. Every time Ramona has had a couple of folks over in her apartment, she's picked up take out. Bethenny is famously a cook and not a chef. Dorinda cooks. Sonja can cook, but only with a toaster oven. The fact that LuAnn didn't want to cook last season is what brought Adam into Carole's orbit.

I was going to say that Housewives don't cook, but that's not true. They cook on New Jersey and Beverly Hills. They don't on New York, Atlanta, Melbourne, and Orange County.

This is one reason I have to give her a pass on some of the things she does that I know drives other people crazy. Her not knowing how to cook, or not knowing how to make coffee. I see that these things about her and other things make it look as if she's spoiled and entitled. But I wondered since the time she admitted to an eating disorder if she really has spent so much time on keeping that under control that she really can't cope with the basic tasks without help.

I don't know, I feel bad for her. I have a feeling her husband is going to be using the things we have seen on the show to make her look incompetent and unable to care for her children.

If nothing else, the obvious conclusions that we can all draw from the last episode is that Michael was having an extramarital affair, which is a horrible thing for the marriage but a great thing for Jules. She will be able to take him to the cleaners and get alimony in addition to child support. She'll probably have to tighten up her purse strings though and start managing her own household by taking care of her children and cooking for them. In the long run, it won't be easy but Jules will get a life lesson in how to grow up really fast and pull up those big girl pants. She thought it was rough before when Michael left the kids still in school clothes and one with a full diaper? She's only beginning her real journey of how to be a real mother. Jules is about to find out who her real friends are and who her cast mates are, and the differences between the two.

I don't think that this stress that Jules is under is anything new for her. I believe that Michael may have been cheating in their marriage for years if not since day one. Coping with anorexia and dealing with the stress of alopecia areata plus the children and his philandering can't be easy for Jules. Maybe now that the 'other shoe' has finally dropped on their marriage and she's committed to ending it and moving forward, she can start to address her other issues.

Well this has already started.  "In the winter of 2012, Julianne brutally and viciously assaulted her diminutive but brave husband,'  Of course most of the world is just reading headlines.  You would have to be watching RHONY to know that he's a douchebag porn king and she is so frail that her bones would probably snap at the first punch.

I don't know. I get it that she looks thin and sickly. But she is Asian. Doesn't she know karate? Just sayn'

Now we know that Jules is very confused because of her mixed heritage.

When they asked her in a talking head what was the difference between Karate and Judo she famously said:

"Karate is ancient Martial Art and jew dough is what they make bagels out of."

Unfortunately it never made it to the air.

Damn you Satan Andy....Damn you!

If I were going to bet on it, I'd bet cooking is the last thing that matters to this very rich man. IMO, what would matter most is how she looks (as in, as close to how she was pre-kids) and how she attends to him sexually.

I'd agree. Michael is the kind of man who knew and knows that he's going to wealthy enough for all of the maids, nannies, and housekeepers to make sure that the home runs smoothly. His wife's job is be hot, have hot sex with him, and to make his friends jealous enough that they aren't fucking her.

RHoOC season 1 Vicki boiled hot dogs and a few seasons ago and Eddie cooked ground turkey as he ignored Tamra's griping. ;-) Later Shannon Beador was seen cooking several times, once for a dinner party.  I've made her goat cheese potatoes, they were good.

So sad but true in this case (I assume). I don't think Michael is looking for a partner. Though speculation is "the mistress" is a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Which shocked me. I was thinking college student or model. Did Jules ever explain how she met Michael? I've always wondered how those two crossed paths.

I think that the uproar about Jules (Is she Jewish?) NOT cooking or doing any household stuff is the fact that she has two small children that need - at this point in their lives - a MOM, not some caretaker/nanny? Your kids are your priority and there is no room for you to complain when the kids look to a hired hand because mommy and daddy are too busy to care/feed/bathe and dress their kids.

It's one thing NOT to have any basic housekeeping skills, it's another to KNOW you don't have those skills, brag about it and do nothing to improve on them. At least do it for your children's sake?

A marriage should be two people working together and sharing the job of raising kids/keeping the marriage right. Neither Jules or Mr Jules have the tools to be in charge of two little ones.

Eh, I think it depends on what your social circle is like. I'm sure Jules' kids have many classmates who have mothers that are clueless about cooking and cleaning too. It's not as if Jules is completely without skills. When she complaining to Dorinda, she mentioned that the kids hadn't been bathed, had their diaper changed, or put into their pajamas. Presumably Jules knows how to perform those tasks on her own.

Even in season 1, it was clear that the housekeeper/nanny did a lot of the child rearing in LuAnn's household. Camille, from RHoBH, had something like 3 nannies for 2 kids. I think it's just what's done for people of certain wealth and socioeconomic status.

Michael Wainstein made his 'new' money with the start up an internet pornography website owned by a corporation in which he had controlling shares called 'NuWeb'. Michael and other partners of NuWeb had purchased several other web pornography sites to increase their business. Michael Wainstein and his business partners had filed a lawsuit in the State of Delaware in 2003 in which they sought to remove several of the board members in order to gain controlling shares of the company's stock.

http://courts.delaware.gov/OPINIONS/download.ASPx?ID=280

http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=31957813

At the same time as the internet pornography website, Michael started a 'legitimate' investment group called Private Capital Group, or PCG for short. The company is a venture capitalist company which means they invest money into emerging companies in exchange for a share or piece of that business.

For me it all makes sense that Michael, having been an expert of sorts with pornography had become very familiar with many women along the way. Whether he was ever a faithful husband is doubtful in my mind. Does a man give up that sort of high-flying lifestyle along with the women, drugs and parties that go along with it just to settle down with one woman?  I suppose it's entirely possible but I don't find it credible.

I've been meaning to post this since first seeing Jules and her husband. My ex had a really good friend that was smart, handsome, graduated from a good school and got his law degree. Seemed like a great catch, he was also about 5'5"ish. He went back and taught at his school which also had a heavy Christian background and picked one of his students to pursue. I was told it was because he wanted kids and he wanted them tall. You guessed he married a young, pretty, same religion, student that was just under 6ft tall and also had tall brothers. My ex said it was very calculated.

The more I read about Jules the more I dislike her. And how is someone even able to declare bankrupcy at the age of 23 with $23,000 worth of debt? I thought bankrupcy (at least where I come from) is reserved for much bigger debt loads. Heck, many 23 year olds have way more than that in student loans. And she claimed at the time that she had clothes worth $120. The clothes I am sitting in now as I type this are worth that much and I do not shop at expensive stores. So Jules basically told the court that she only had the cothes on her back. I think she is a lying liar who lies. And now she is $25,000 in debt because she has refused to pay her bills once again. So much for old money. Or even new money. Jules is no money. Unless of course it is hubby's to pay for the housekeeper, nannies and the sales that she attends after her nanny has waited in line for her. I am in no way saying she deserved to be cheated on, but at this point I don't know how Michael stood being married to her for 8 years.

Way harsh Tai!  Dudes, he (allegedly?) fucked her girlfriend and humiliated her...and HE married her!  If he chose her, he could stand her, and I'm still shocked by all this - I stupidly thought he was a nice guy, with very little attitude.  There has been universal comment that she doesn't seem super sharp, I have no reason to think she deliberately lied to a court, at all.  Further, re the condo fees - isn't it owned by more than 1 person?  Who knows what's true there?

I usually can't stand the commentary surrounding these kinds of stories but the idea of Michael finding a 'smarter' woman, a friend of hers, to cheat on her with - man, that's simply terrible.  And these stories I guess coming out *now* about Jules?  Huh.  A relationship doesn't have to end this way.  It's very sad, and it seems to me likely that Michael is gaming and gaslighting her even now.

I'm wondering if any of the other wives knew, and also if any of them suspected about the money/bankruptcy stuff?  All of that said, the crowded little apartment without a bit of art, and the unfinished beach house are making more sense.

I think that its very possible that Jules saw some perks in outing her hubby as an incompetent cheater during (or after) her HW stint. Good for her to get all that info out on her side! Except for the children. I hate to keep repeating this, but if the two continue (or start- depending on your point of view) to destroy each other publicly, that is just beyond tacky. In no way is Jules to blame for her husband cheating! He has no one or nothing  to blame or excuse his infidelity. HE is solely to blame. I just hope that the both of these two care more about their children than they do crucifying each other.

As a child of divorce, I remember every jab "Daddy" made about "Mommy". I'm proud to say that my mother was mature enough to save her negative comments for avenues that were inaccessible to me (i.e. venting with friends). Thank God I can't Google their vitriol!

The interesting thing is that the bankrupcies all appear to be Jules doing, not her husband's. The first one certainly was as it was before she even met Michael. The second one is for a property that she bought with her sisters and now is the sole owner of. I don't blame him for not forking out $25,000 to bail her out when he is paying for nannies, house keepers, etc. while she apparently does nothing. I am not saying he is a saint but she is the one who has bragged on camera about having 'old money' (and again, when she apparently has no money), and about her lifestyle all the while bilking others. I think she is a vain, dishonest, vapid person.

And how is someone even able to declare bankrupcy at the age of 23 with $23,000 worth of debt? I thought bankrupcy (at least where I come from) is reserved for much bigger debt loads. Heck, many 23 year olds have way more than that in student loans

This was most likely her medical costs for treatment. 60% of all bankruptcies are due to healthcare costs. Since eating disorders would not have been covered she bore the cost.

On a side note student loans are not resolved with bankruptcy. You have those babies forever.

Her first bankruptcy is on her, I agree. But the $25,000 she owes in condo fees I disagree with you. They have been married for 8 years, they have 2 children. He makes the money in the household. From what we have seen he hasn't been complaining about her needing a nanny or a housekeeper otherwise he would have cut that expense out years ago. In my opinion he knew exactly how she was when he married her and I would think it would be in his best interest to make sure her bills are paid. They are married, she's not bilking him out of money, it's their money.

My point wasn't that you can declare bankrupcy for student loans, my point was that many 23 year olds have a debt of $20,000 ish and aren't able to duck it by declaring bankrupcy. And I still think it is ridiculous that she was able to declare bankrupcy for that amount. Why do you assume that her bankrupcy was due to health care costs? They are credit card debts including department store credit card debt.

I totally disagree. She bought the apartment with her sisters and then took over as sole owner. When my hubby and I married I  already owned an apartment which I continued to own for another 8 years before I sold it. I paid for every last thing associated with it and would not in a million years have expected my hubby to contribute to something that was mine before we even started dating let alone married. If at some point I had been unable to afford it I would have sold it. Which is what Jules should have done. Simple, really.

I think that most people would have cautioned her against filing bankruptcy for such a small amount, as the long-term harm to your credit (and even ability to get a job in some cases) is not worth any benefit that would come from discharging your debt. Still, it happens all the time. My cute hubby declared bankruptcy at 20 years old with around $15K in debt, because his family was horrified that he had any debt. When he suffered a major health crisis and could't work for several months, they convinced him that it would just be easier to declare bankruptcy and start fresh. There were more than enough lawyers around ready to help him with his cause, and as he later told me, no one told him that it wasn't the best idea in the world.  It was a huge mistake and followed him around for years and years (and of course me as well once we got married).

That and she seems pretty dumb and can't do anything. Well, she did wear that cum necklace but I doubt she good at that either because we know she doesn't swallow anything. I've never liked her and wondered too how Michael could stand her.

that's it, you win the Snark Comment of the Year award with that one.

Since she does not work, how do you propose that she pays for her condo fees?

And good for you, for paying your own bills!

And good for Jules for holding on to her condo, since the price of RE sky rocketed in NYC, she probably doubled or even tripled her investment.

The woman with whom he cheated with, looks exactly like Jules.

As far as her being a smarter version of the mother of his children, she looks just like Jules, imo.

Only, Judging from her media, she appears as a sluttier, better nourished version.
