Why do they need another guest co-host? They had crazy red dress lady last Friday.  Is this now the thing on Fridays?

Guess we are in for another week with airhead Sara  Haines at the table.

It makes me wonder if they're searching for a permanent Latina at the table (Lala Anthony, nee Alani Vazquez last week, Cristal Alonzo this week). Which is all fine and good, except I really miss the days when they cast for compatability, not demographics.

Yes, they had women of all ages, but now they seem to want to tick the boxes for all political viewpoints and all ethnicities. Not that I have an issue with that (I really don't want to see an all-WASP View), but they've done a great job of ticking those boxes without considering the chemistry. Rosie Perez, for one... a nice woman, a Latina (tick!), but a poor fit on the show. Raven looked like a good bet, I'm sure (tick! tick!t tick!), a triple threat (black, young, LGBT), but she's been another poor choice.

Maybe if they choose a cast looking first for intelligence and warmth, they'd have a good show again. I feel nowadays, they are looking first for two from column A, one from column B, etc. The original View managed to have diverse casting and chemistry. It can't be that hard.... can it?

Lionel Ritchie. Now that man can sing and write his own songs. They can have the rap artists, give me his music any day.

They have Sunny. We all know she's part Latina since she tells us every time she's on.

Absolutely appalled at Raven and Paula today. I have no idea how or why they are trying to make Trump's racism sound less than what it actually is. Can't believe I was actually agreeing with Whoopi today.

Also, was Paula wearing one of Raven's braids?

I am sorry-did Whoopi say that the Kardashians were all natural? I have not had coffee yet so maybe I misheard.

Pssh.  Whoopi's wearing her "Contrarian" hat today, folks! Hadn't seen it in a while, but it's back, and so is Whoopi!

Yep she played the contrary card with Joy about Ali using the N word, completely unnecessary as Miss Whoopi knew Joy couldn't use the word in the first place....stupid interruption just to be contrary!   And I hate hate hate it when she calls others baby like with Sarah!

Michelle Collins abruptly fired from the show over the weekend & not a "we'll miss you" or "good luck" from her former co-hosts. Very insulting, IMO.

The article says

"Starting in January, Collins’ co-hosting duties shrank to just one or two appearances a week, and ABC executives recently made the decision not to renew her contract, according to two sources with knowledge of the talks. Collins, who is on vacation in Europe, is expected to stay on “The View” through the end of the summer."

She'll probably show up a few times before the end of the season and they will say good bye then. Now we have airhead Sara Haines in her place.

Haleth :If you're referring to CCB,  I say she lost that title, as well as the title of "Virtuous Christian Mother" on the show's"Karaoke Day," wearing an outfit more appropriate for a tween girl, suggestively snuggling up to Vanilla Ice while singing with him, mugging at the camera, shaking her boobs & butt.  Unfortunately, all of CCB's hard work was for nothing, as the judges declared Michelle Collin the winner of that day's competition.

I'm totally indifferent to Sara Haines.  To me, she doesn't add or take away anything from the show.  Hence, she's not necessary.  Although, she did give me the opportunity to use the word "hence" for the first time.

I sort of cringed a bit when Sara praised Whoopi.

It is going to keep happening. Airhead Sara Haines is sucking up.

Might calm down when next season but for now expect it to happen.

Sara will have a faux BFF relationship with everyone on the show by the Fall. Sunny already has one with Paula.

This, so much. I wish she'd smoke a joint, get laid, something as part of her pre-show prep so she'd stop being such a bitch all the time.

I was rolling my eyes 5 seconds into the show when they showed the clip they'd show us again later of Raven as a little girl being all cwute! with Muhammad Ali. Am I suppose to like her now? It's just as bad as when they show clips of Whoopi in one of her many acclaimed films like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rat Race whenever someone dies, then cut to her smug face afterwards.

Today Sara Haines, who almost everyone seems to disdain was articulate and intelligent with her remarks.  If she is hired, she will bring new hope to this show.

I agree. I like Sweet Sara and hope they hire her.  IMO she brings much-needed common sense, calmness and reason to the table.

Loved how Raven wasted time reading the definitions of racism and prejudice, leading to her concluding that Con-man Donald was being prejudiced re the judge of Mexican descent.  THEN WHOOPI SHOT HER DOWN...saying Donald was a racist.  Haha. That's what you get for sucking up to an EGO-T, Raven baby.

Oh, I think she will have that accomplished before the end of this season. She is on a mission. Wondering if she is maybe on the way out at GMA so gets The View as a consolation prize??

I thought I heard that too although I admit I was laughing at her praising those reality show famewhores after years of trashing them.  But today Whoopi was going to contradict everything everyone said and take the final word while she was at it.

Heh.  As others have pointed out it wasn't that abrupt but being insulting is what this show does best - they insult each other and/or us every day.

LOL - as long as the conversation was about The Bible or Full House or her kids and really only two out of three of those.

The View producers are now claiming they had no choice but to fire MC, since they felt her stories about anti-semitism & how the Holocaust personally affected her family, were turning away viewers.......guess the network hopes the daily religious insights & ultra conservative political views of PF & CCB  will up the ratings by attracting all those stay-at-home, christian, cookie baking mothers.

This is from Monday's show but yes, she was and I thought it looked stupid.  Still, was it really necessary for Whoopi to tell Paula, "I don't want to see you show up here looking like Raven again."  WTF?   The woman who always looks like a pile of laundry has some nerve talking to ANYONE about their appearance when just five minutes before she walked onstage wearing some ginormous sports bra over her shirt, LOL.  Besides, snarking on the co-host's wardrobe/hair/makeup choices is our job LOL.

Yes, I hate when pesky, historical events are mentioned on this show.  You know, the kind of stuff that might teach me something.  I'd much rather hear about Kim Kardasian's huge, mountain like ass and spend time trying to make sense out of Raven's nonsense.

I thought Terry sounded pissed too. Boy, I bet the 4am guy is getting an earful from Joy right now.  As is the production assistant who brought up the theme music a couple minutes early.  Oops.

The producers should be ashamed if they fired Michelle for bringing up the Holocaust.  I guess they expected the comedienne to stick to jokes.

Yeah that botched ending was embarassing but hilarious all the same. Complete with Whoopsie fumbling around and proudly proclaiming how much she just doesn't care. We got the memo Whoopi!

Does terri mcmillan's editor get tired of editing out all the "ummmmm's" out of her manuscripts?

On the topic of teachers having affairs with students: what did raven mean about having a big computer screen in the room for security? Does she think all this inappropriate behavior happens IN the classroom DURING school hours?

It's Shonda, Whoopi - not ShondRa.

Sure, Terry McMillan, you've been successful enough that you can afford to turn your nose up at television. The truth is that the lines between film & television have blurred. Cable, Netflix & other streamers are making it even moreso.

However,I thought Terry is bisexual at least..She seems to like to have alot of lesbian erotica in her novels. How can she not know about her own Al..lol I remember that they were on Oprah talking about their magical love..lol and Oprah was giving them the side eye....

One day a fellow chicken will be nominated to office and Raven will be so pleased.

Sarah doesn't bother me, I think really I want Paula replaced the most.  She just has zero charisma, I don't get how she was even hired for GMA weekend.  Must be a talent drought.

Did airhead Sara Haines say one word during the Hillary Clinton discussion? I swear she just sits there with that blank look on her face.

Paula didn't bother me too much when she first started. It think it will take a while until airhead Sara Haines annoys people. Right now, she just sits and watches most of the time. There is no great contribution from her.
